Title: The Diary of Helga Hufflepuff

Salazar has been taken from us. The snake slides around the hallways of our castle no more. I fear my time has also come to fruition. Its time for me to join Salazar as the martyrs of our time, the ones that died for our beliefs, to keep us pure and alive.

Salazar’s death comes to no surprise to me. He has been left in his dungeons to rot into the earth for the time being. He tried to keep our spirit alive, and tried to make us pure throughout all of time. The purity that would have led us all to ultimate power. It matters not to me if we are not expanding our knowledge past our own people. They are not worthy of our talent.

I believe Salazar died for the right cause. His suggestion to me gave me the thirst. It was brilliant, it was perfect, yet it has now been thwarted by the others. But I do not think he left without leaving his mark. I believe he knew this was coming, I think he did something that would mean he can continue his amazing legacy throughout the ages if he did die. It would be the perfect idea for him to have a back-up plan. It would be so Salazar, so much of a perfect martyr.

Now he’s gone, I fear it is my time too. The time has come for the badger to leave this castle to the lions and ravens to pick the flesh off its bones. The day of the badger, and of the snake, is over.
