The last time Josephine checked on her owl Vinal, his foot was bleeding a little. Ever since, she had been checking on him everyday, to see what the bleeding was from. It was probably from his foot, as everytime she touched it he tried to bite her. Same thing happened now. Josephine was in the owlery, just petting Vinal.

Richard walked in owlery a letter in hand he didn't look around till he had tied the letter to a school owl, and when he did he saw a girl and her owl "Hello, I didn't see you there" he said in a soft voice.

When Josephine heard the voice of someone else, it surprised her slightly. She gasped, and turned quickly. She sort of laughed quietly when she saw it was only another student; nothing to be alarmed over. "Oh, hello there." Josephine greeted, smiling lightly.

"You seem on edge." he said then asked "Why?"

She shrugged and gave a faint smile. "No reason..you just surprised me." Josephine told him reassuringly.

"OK, is that blood?" he asked looking at her hand.

"Oh," Josephine looked at her hand, a bit confused. "Yes, I suppose it is." Her owl must have bit her, and she did not realize it. She put her other hand over the spot that was bleeding, trying to keep it from bleeding any more.

"So, what house are you in?" he asked her.

It took a second for her to realize he was speaking. Josephine was a little worried about her hand. "Erm..oh, Ravenclaw." She looked up at him and smiled. "What about you?"

"Slytherin, Do you want some help?" He asked her

"I'd appriciate your help, but I don't think there's anything you can do." Josephine said without trying to be rude.

"Can I have a look?" He asked wanting to help.

Josephine nodded and was delighted by his kindness. She stuck her hand out for him letting him take it.

Richard took her hand looked at the cut "Have you got a owl?" he sked her

"Yes, he's right over there." Josephine turned her head to look at the owl. She smiled at it, seeing that it was looking around curious about everything.

"Does it bite" he said glanceing at the owl and then back to the hand.

Josephine thought a moment before sighing. "Occasionally, yes. But not always. Today he has been." She explained, looking down at her hand.

"ok, it should be alright he said pulling a small bandage out his pocket and carfully trying to put it around the bite.

She smiled greatfully, and glanced at her hand. "Thank you."

"Your welcome." he said "Whats your owls name?" he asked

"Vinal." Josephine replied. With her other hand she lightly pet the top of her owl's head, and smiled at it. As annoying as it was when it bit her, she could not help but think of how cute Vinal was.

"Will he bite me?" He asked her

Josephine tore her eyes away from the owl and looked back at him. "Will he? Probably. But that's just because his foot is not well. On a normal occasion he would not." She explained quietly.
