Erika sat in one of the arm chairs near the fire in the Slytherin common room. She sipped on some hot chocolate she had gotten from the kitchens. Knwoing she was not going to go home for Christmas she thought she'd stay there, it would be peaceful with so many people gone. Who knows maybe I can get some homework done, she thought with a sigh as she traced her finger around the top of the mug.

Kaden walked down the spiral staircase from the boys droms to the common room. He saw a Erika sitting by the fire. He walked over to the arm chair beside her and plopped down on it his legs hanging over one of the arms of the chair and his back resting on the other arm. He smiled and said. " Hey Erika."

Erika had been in her own thoughts when she heard someone sit down in a arm chair beside her. Looking over she nodded toward Kaden. "Hey Kaden," was all she said then after a moment asked, "How ya been?"

" i've been better...you?" he asked.

Erika shrugged. "Fine I guess, same old sh*t just a different day," she gave him a small smirk.

" I know the feeling.." he smirked back then looked at the fire.

Erika nodded then looked to the fire herself. The flames reflecting back through her eyes as she watched them. "How's Trinity?"

" I don't know.." he said softly.

When it came to the subject of little kids Erika immeadiately softened. She quickly glanced at Kaden. "Why not? She's not in danger is she?"

" Her mother took her..." he said quietly not looking at her just staring into the fire.

Erika loked down for a moment. Well that defiantly had to hurt Kaden, after all it was his daughter. Looking back up she said, "I'm sorry Kaden."

" Don't be.." he said softly still staring at the fire.

Erika shook her head at his answer. He should be angry, she thought, if that was my child and the father took it I would be. After a moment she turned her gaze back to him and asked, "Why in the world did she take her from you? You seem perfectly capable of handling Trinity, I saw it myself."

Kaden looked over at her looking pittiful, " I don't know why she did it she just came and demanded her from me I Know I can handle her...but she chose...she chose her mother over me so there she's gone and I won't see her agian..." he said sort of loudly but not yelling at her he was angry and upset and couldn't keep it inside anymore.

Erika was about to tell him to stop letting his anger ou on her until she heard the last of his sentence. She looked down and sighed. "Again...I'm sorry Kaden, I really don't know what to say."

" It doesn't matter anymore..." he muttered not caring to carry on with the current topic.

Erika nodded simply and glanced to the fire. She didn't want to anger or upset him by keeping this conversation going so she would either pick up a new one or not one at all. "Well....." she started. "How's classes?" She wondered where in the hell that came from but didn't take it back, it was a different topic after all.
