Like he usually did on his spare time, Claus was standing near a window in the corridor. He had finished his last class, and had nothing else to do. QUietly he gazed out the window, looking over his shoulder everytime three minutes or so. Claus was feeling a bit paranoid that he was being watched. Of course, it was nothing. He sighed, and just watched the clouds go by slowly.

Kate sighed as she walked down the corridors, she had on dark jeans and a vintage shirt. She spotted a boy standing infront of the window, she walked over to him seeing as she had nothing else to do and stood next to him. " Hey..."

Claus glanced over at her timidly. He blinked a few times before looking back through the window. Though almost to himself, he had a faint smile on his face. "Hi," Was all he said in a quiet yet polite tone of voice.

Kate smiled and followed his gaze out the window while saying. " I'm Kate." she held out a hand for a shake.

He took her hand and shook it gently. But quickly Claus withdrew, and placed his other hand on the back of his neck and looked at his shoes. "Claus Tsukuda." Claus stated looking back at her. From what he knew so far, this 'Kate' girl didn't seem like a threat at all.

She let her hand fall to her side and smiled warmly at him. " Nice meeting you Claus. I'm in Gryffindor, what house are you in?" she asked.

"Hufflepuf...sixth year." Claus figured it was best to just get out what year he was in before she asked. He didn't want to seem rude by having her ask all the questions, so he cleared his throat to speak up. "What year are you in?"

" 5th" she said looking out the window again she smiled to herself when she saw some snow on the groun she wanted so badly to be outside right now.

Very slightly Claus blushed, not sure what to say. "...Getting cold outside, isn't it?" He said to her as he admired some trees.

kate smiled. " yes but I love the cold..and the snow.."

Claus smiled somewhat with a dreamy gleam in his eye. "Yes, the snow is pleasant." He was happy it had been snowing recently. It made him appriciate the winter time more. But he hated too much snow.

Kate looked over at him smiling then looked out the window again not really knowing what to say.

His mind was starting to go off into space. Claus usually thought deeply about things, and normally got lost in thought. But now was not exactly a good time to do that. He cleared his throat and looked at the floor sort of feeling like an idiot.

" Something wrong?" she asked.

"Hnn?...Oh, sorry." Claus smiled weakly, and a small pink color came to his cheeks. "No, I just drifted off for a moment." He quickly looked out the window though, knowing if he looked at her he'd end up blushing even more.

Kate smiled and nodded, she looked at him for a momment the out the window again.

Claus searched his mind for something to talk about. Why did this always happen to him? He'd always be left with nothing to say and things would get really awkward. But Claus wasn't going to let that happen again. "So..do you have any hobbies?" He asked casually.

Kate didn't even think for more than a moment before saying. " I liove to read, and write poetry." she said before saying. " what about you?"

"Reading you say? I am fond of reading." Claus' voice was happy, but still soft. His shyness was still over powering him at that moment. "But other than that I...hnn. I'm not sure what else." He put his hand on the back of his neck again and shrugged.

Kate smiled and listened to him, she ran a hand through her hair before saying. " Do you wanna go outside with me?" she asked badly wanting to go in the snow.

Claus stared at her for a moment, not sure how to react. He probably should just go along with her. What harm could it do? It was better than staying inside anyway. "Alright." He gave a small smile as he turned around.

Kate smiled and walked to the door pointing her wans at herself and her coat apeared along with gloves. She opened the door for him.

He stuck his hands in his pockets and followed her. Claus felt he was dressed warmly enough for outside, so he just left with her as he was.
