Okay this is one of the first poems I have posted here in a while. Hope you like it and please reveiw it! and yes the ball did rise where I was... I don't get it either

I stand in the cold, watching the ball rise to the top.
The count begins and I sigh.
Another year starting and one about to stop.
I close my eyes and make a wish, knowing it won't come true

The count down ends.
The ball reached the top
I look around and I see his face.
He stares at the fireworks as they go POP.

I look down at the dirty brown snow.
I feel the feeling I have felt before.
I hope it did not show.
Hot tears roll down my cheeks.

I replayed the moment so meny times.
In my mind it seemed so real.
So for sure, like it really could happen.
Like we had had a deal.

But I guess it never could happen.
I guess it never will.
Hoping to see him just once more.
Before the wish begins to die.
