Title: A Quiet Tune

Claus Tsukuda - January 4, 2007 10:26 PM (GMT)
The tune of 'Ave Maria' filled the air around the lake. Claus stood near the edge of the water, playing that violin of his. His eyes were closed, and he seemed so peaceful. He was just practising that day; he had nothing else to do.

Diana had been walking along the lake thinking about things and such when she heard music. It sounded pretty good and she wanted to see who was making it. Walking along further she saw a boy playing a violin. Stopping she continued listening her eyes closing for a moment just hearing the music and nothing else around her.

Claus wasn't aware of the outside world currently. He had become wrapped up in his music, and was almost enjoying the sounds of the violin. But within the next couple of minutes he had finished his song. Claus held the violin in his right hand, the bow in his other, and stared out across the lake.

Diana had opened her eyes and continued listening until the boy finished. She smiled thinking on what to say. After amoment she put her hands in her pockets and told him, "That was wonderful."

Suddenly his pupils seemed to reduce in size the moment he heard the girls voice. Claus became tense, but sighed. It wasn't her fault he heard her. He was the one playing out in the open. Claus sighed, and turned to the side a little, but not showing the front of him completely. "Thank you." He said almost in an angry way, yet his tone was shy and quiet.

Diana was suprised at his reaction, that usually never happened, but hey people were different. At hearing his voice she nodded slightly saying, "Your welcome." After a moment she turned her gaze to the lake keeping quiet not sure what to do or say to the other.

Claus blushed a little at the silence, but regained his thoughts and cleared his throat. "...Do you like the violin?" He asked her. Surely she could have had some interest in it. Or maybe she had no interest in it what so ever and just happened to like the song he was playing. Whatever it was, Claus didn't want to go ahead and just assume things.

Diana had glanced over at the boy when he spoke. She couldn't see him completely as he was half way turned. "I've never played it but I've always liked the way it's sounded just like the piano and other instruments," she replied giving the guy a small smile.

He turned back the other way so he faced the lake again. The lake made him feel more calm. "Yes. The sound it makes does have a nice ring." Claus probably couldn't have said that with less emotion even if he wanted to. But he tried to send away all the jumbled thoughts that he had so he could pay attention to their conversation.

Diana continued watching the boy. It looked like there was a lot on his mind or he just didn't want the company. The tone of his voice made her wonder what he was thinking about, but she wouldn't ask, at least not yet. "Yes it certainly does, that is if you know how to play it right," she said.

Claus Tsukuda - January 5, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
"Or to anyone with ears." Claus joked quietly. A small smirk appeared on his face, but it disappeared when a breeze picked up. It blew some hair into his eyes, but he tried to ignore it. Along with the cold. "But on a more serious note, I do appreciate the violin and would even if I didn't play it. It's good that you think so too." He added in after a minute.

As Diana heard his joke she looked down smiling slighty as a breeze picked up and she tightened her sweater around her. As he finished she nodded, "Yeah it's a wonderfufl instrument, I don't see why anyone wouldn't like it," she shrugged slightly glancing to the lake.

Claus Tsukuda - January 9, 2007 10:55 AM (GMT)
Claus could think of a million reasons why people didn't like the violin. All of them he had heard before in his life. But if he were to drone on telling her about them, it might bore her to death. In reality, it would bore him to death too. He sighed, deciding to change the subject. "Are you feeling well? You never know in this weather. You might catch a cold." Claus said to her calmly.

Diana was waiting for his reaction to be surprised by what he said, it was changed off topic which must mean he didn't want to talk about it so she knew to leave it alone. Nodding to him she replied, "I'm well, at least I believe I am. I haven't got sick in a quite some time. How about you?" She asked her gaze turning to look at him.
