*Well it seemed to be a common thing in her family at the time, being on the edge. So confused to the point that you wanted to go chuck yourself off of a cliff (but live) hoping it'd solve all of your probelms for you. It didn't though. No matter what Mel did, she was still as confused as before, and sometimes, even more. Melanie was sitting on the floor by the fire. Her knees where pulled up to her chest, and she was resting her head on her knees as she stared into the fire, thinking deeply. She had Mark in his baby carrier beside her. He had one of his toys to keep himself content, but Mel kept one hand on his carrier while she thought, just to make sure he knew she was there. She was thinking about what to do. Liam said he needed space. He wasn't sure about things. He couldn't handle it. So what choice did Mel have but to give him space? How was she supposed to do that, though? There was only one way, and that would be running off with Simner. Not like, eloping, running off, but leaving and going somewhere far away. To her it seemed like he was the only person who supported her at all. She just wished that there was someone she could tell, or someone who would listen to her.*



~Mel

*Kiley walked into the commons. She closed the door and leaned up against it, taking a deep breath. She let it out slowly and closed her eyes. Kiley hadn't seen Mel by the fire. Eyes still closed, Kiley let her bag slid from her shoulder onto the floor*

*Melanie jumped whenever Kiley dropped her bag onto the floor since she had been completely zoned out before she did it. She looked back to see what happened and saw Kiley. She looked back at the fire, not thinking that Kiley would want to listen to her whine at all and being a bit disappointed. Then she realized that Kiley listened to everything she had to say any other time, so why not now.

Now Mel was even more confused*
Melanie:"Hi, Kiley." *she greeted, still sounded dazed*



~Mel

*Kiley took in a deep breath in suprise. She opened her eyes. Immediatly a fake smile flashed across her face.* "Hey Mel. How're you?"

Melanie:"Oh, I'm great." *she replied in an overly airy voice so it was all too obvious that she wasn't*"What about you?"




~Mel

"Perfect." *She said, holding the smile. She found it slightly amusing that they were both acting this way*

Melanie:"Hmm." *she mumbled as a reply*"Doesn't sound like it."




~Mel

"Yeah....same to you...." *She said crossing and falling into a chair by the fire*

Melanie:"It shouldn't. I am fine, really."


*The fact that she said 'I am fine, really' rather than 'I really am fine' was a little indicator that she wasn't, but she didn't do it on purpose so she didn't know she gave herself away*



~Mel

"No you're not....I can tell........what's bugging you?" *She asked, closing her eyes and tilting her head back against the back of the chair, relaxing but still ready to listen*

*Melanie sighed. She'd gotten started and now she had to tell her.*
Melanie:"You won't listen to me. You'll just tell me that you were right."


~Mel

"I'll always listen to you....even if I do tell you I'm write...I'll still listen. And after I tell you I was right then I'll try to help. I promise."

*Melanie rolled her eyes*
Melanie:"Fine. I'm going to say it for you: You were right. Liam does think I'm annoying."




~Mel

*As soon as mel said what was bothering her, Kiley felt bad that she'd ever said that about liam* "Why do you think that? did he like, come out and say 'you're annoying'?"

Melanie:"No, but he did say that he couldn't handle me or Mark, and that he needed space, and he didn't know what he was getting himself into."



~Mel

"Mel, he probably didn't mean it..." *Kiley said, opening her eyes and looking at her* "He was probably just frusterated..."

*Melanie shook her head*
Melanie:"I don't. He's right. I'm ruining his life. I took away his oppurtunity to be a teenager. I never should've asked him for help."



~Mel

"He didn't have to help you.....he loves you mel. He's just probably feeling overwhelmed"

Melanie:"I know he loves me but...I am too much. I always have been. I'm demanding and I never give anything back."




~Mel

"Then maybe you should just give him some time off for a little" *She sugested*

Melanie:"That's what I've been thinking of doing, but I really don't want to. I have it all planned out and everything."

*She didn't mention the fact that she planned it with Simner, and that it was also for them to get away from the fighting*



~Mel

"................and when were you planning on telling me this?"

Melanie:"Soon." *She lied*"But I didn't think you'd let me do it."


~Mel

"What? Give Liam space?" *She paused* "What exactly does giving him space involve?"

Melanie:"Leaving." *she explained simply*"Not forever but for a little while."



~Mel

Kiley: "Just, taking Mark and going? Where to? Mel, I tihnk that's a bit drasticc"

Melanie:"I don't really know for sure yet." *she lied*"But that is what I'm going to do if I do it. And it's not drastic. He needs space so I'm giving it to him."



~Mel

"I don't think he needs that much space....."

Melanie:"Well I do. If he really needs a break from everything, I can't be around, and in order for me to not be around, I need to leave."



~Mel

"Well.....if you really think that's what needs to happen, then I'm not going to try to stop you." *Kiley said softly* "What're you doing with alex and ian and mark?"

Melanie:"I'm taking Mark with me. Alex and Ian are staying. They can't miss school."




~Mel

"Have you told them about this?"

Melanie:"Yes." *she lied*"And they're okay with it. They understand. It just makes Alex happy that I'll be away." *she joked*



~Mel

"I guess I'll just have to talk to ian and alex about why they didn't tell me...." *She said, just to see if mel was bluffing*

Melanie:"Alright." *she said, shrugging*


~Mel

"Alright...." *She paused a minute before shouting at the top of her lungs, not caring if she woke everyone up in the castle* "ALEX! CAN YOU COME HERE A MOMENT?" *She didn't call Ian because she still hadn't spoken to him since he insulted her that time*

*Melanie kept her cool, even though she was trying to think of a way out of her situation. Knowing Alex he would catch on quick and follow her lead. About a minute later Alex dragged himself into the common room.*

Alex:"What?" *he asked, looking very upset that he had been interrupted in the middle of something probably extremelly unimportant*

Melanie:"Remember when I told you about my plan to leave for a while?" *she looked right at him. He looked into her eyes and understood that he needed to lie. For once he made a good choice and did something nice for someone.*

Alex:"Yeah."



~Mel

*Kiley mentally swore. She wasn't bluffing. Kiley looked at him* "Why didn't you tell me?"

Alex:"Because she told me not to." *Alex lied again, figuring it's what Mel would do anyway. Generally if Mel ever actually would have told him something that Kiley didn't know, she wasn't supposed to.*



~Mel

*Kiley rolled her eyes and turned abck around* "Fine whatever.....go back to bed..." *She muttered*
