Casey walked reluctantly into the Hostpital Wing, Madame Pomfrey came rushing over demanding where Casey had acquired all these bruises and cuts. Mme Pomfrey eyed her wearily while she made up some lame excuse. Casey sat on the bed as Mme Pomfrey tended to all her cuts and bruises.

Kaden walked through the corridor just in time to hear Casey's voice in the Hospital wing. He cocked his eyebrow and looked in, his eyes widened when he saw her. " C...Casey!! What happened?!" he rushed over to her.

Casey cast her eyes downward, blushing slightly, she hated Kaden seeing her all beat up. "I ... I went home.. just for a weekend" she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Kaden listened to her and ran his hands through his hair. " What?" he asked softly he sat on the edge of her bed. " Are you okay...I mean did he hurt you anymore than this?" he asked concern quickly filling his eyes.

Casey shook her head, "No... just these" she said, her voice still extremely quiet, as she looked at the bruises along her arms. There was one the side of her face too, just below her eye. For some reason her father had been angrier than normal

Kaden takes her chin gently in his fingers making sure not to hurt her. He turned her chin to see the sides of her face and shakes his head tears forming in his eyes. He couldn't stand seeing her hurt.

Casey looked downwards, trying to keep from making eye contact. "I'm fine.. really" she tried to reassure him, and herself. She looked up into his eyes but quickly looked back down. She felt tears pr*ck at her own eyes

" No your not Casey!" he said a tear rolled down his face. " This isn't right he shouldn't be laying a hand on you, you don't deserve this no one doeserves that..."

Casey sighed and looked down at her lap. She'd heard that one recently. "I-I-I do deserve it though... "

" What?!" He asked confused. " No you don't! Why would you?"

A tear rolled down her cheek, "Because... " she hesitated, "Because ... it's my fault my mum's dead... and he ... i don't know"

Kaden wiped the tear from her face. " How is it your fault?" he asked softly.

"I was born" Casey told him rather bitterly, another tear rolled down her cheek, and she got angry with herself, she hated crying in front of people, even if it was Kaden.

" Casey...." he said hugging her. " It's not your fault, baby you didn't kill her"

Casey leaned against, burying her head in his shoulders the tears started to overflow, rolling freely down her cheeks. "If it wasn't for me she'd still be alive"

Kaden bit down on his lip ring keeping himself from crying. " Casey don't say things like that it's not your fault really it's not!" he said

Casey tried to stop herself from crying, but it didn't do much. "Sometikes it feels like it is" she muttered quietly wiping away the tears angrily

" Well it's not you couldn't do anything to stop her from dying...I know it must be hard but you can't let this affect you this way Casey." he said rubbing her back lightly. " You can cry it might make you feel better..." he whispered softly into her ear.

Casey felt the tears to fall faster to the point where she was almost sobbing, she gave up trying to stop crying. "My... I... " she shook her head, "I really ... don't know..." she managed to say

Kaden strocked her hair feeling a warm tear roll down his face, he didn't know what to do to make her feel better. " What can I do to make you feel better?" he asked.

Casey managed to calm herself down a bit. "Just ... just being here helps" she told him quietly as she wiped away a few tears.

Kaden wiped away some of her tears with his thumb gently. " Okay I'll be here for as long as you want."

Casey managed a weak smile, "Thanks" she said quietly, "I... I'm worried about... my dad" she told him quietly looking down, the flow of tears slowing down.

" Why are you worried?" he asked softly.

"I don't know... he seemed worse than normal. He was drinking more and was even angrier than normal" Casey explained quietly

Kaden was trying to understand but he couldn't. " I'm sorry Casey..." he said softly.

"I'm so scared to go back, but I can't just not go home" Casey admitted, sniffling a bit.

" here." he said handing her a tissue. " You can't go back Casey, not alone...i could come with you..." he suggested.

She took the tissue gratefully, blowing her nose a little awkwardly. Casey shook her head, "That would just make him even angrier, he'd kill me." she told him quietly.

Kaden rubbed his eyes. " I don't know what to do to help you Casey.." he said feeling frustrated with himself.

Casey shook her head, "Me niether... don't worry about me, honest, it's not always this bad"

" It shouldn't happen at all!!" He said hiding his face.

Casey looked down, "I can't tell anyone.. I can't"

" Casey listen to me..." he said looking straight into her eyes. " You have no clue how much it hurts me to see you like this, no clue at all you don't have the slightest clue how much I care about you. You need to tell lsomeone this has to stop."

Casey blinked back tears, he had no idea how good it felt to hear that. "I-I-I can't... I don't... I don't have anywhere else to go... He's my dad I can't do that to him" she stammered. Not only that but she was still absolutely terrified of her dad, she was certain that if she told someone he really would kill her.

" Casey you have me remember I can help you! I have an apartment...I know he's your dad but look what he's doing to you Casey you can't live like that." he said softly.

Casey looked down at her lap, tears falling freely now. "No one's ever cared before... everyone used to believe my excuses... he'd really kill me if someone ever tried to help"

Kaden wiped away some of her tears. " I won't let him kill you Casey I love you too much to let that happen!"

Casey tried to stop the tears, but she couldn't, the tears that she had managed to hide for so long ran down her cheeks. She looked up at Kaden, the fear was obvious in her eyes.

Kaden looked into her eyes. " Don't be scared I'm not going to let anything ahppen to you I promise you have to trust me Casey..." he said softly, hugging her being careful not to hurt her.
