Casey peeked around the corner nervously. She knew she shouldn't be out of bed, it was way past curfew. But she hadn't been able to sleep, and if she had to stay in the common room for the rest of the night she would go crazy. So she had snuck out, though she was terrified of getting caught. Even though the harshest punishment she knew she could get was a detention it didn't really suit her to get into trouble. She'd never gotten in trouble before and she wasn't going to start now.
As Casey wandered through the darkened, cold corridors the sound of her feet hitting the ground echoed nerve rackingly around her. She listened intently for any sounds, but the only noise she could hear were her own bare feet hitting cold, stone floor. Finally she reached the steps that led to the Astonomy Tower. She let out a brief sigh, she hadn't been caught and now that she was here it wasn't likely that she would get caught.
At the top of the stair case Casey peered about the room, squinting in the darkness. It was empty. Feeling more at ease she moved quietly to the window where she climbed up on the windowsill. Curling up she stared, transfixed, into the night sky. It was a cloudy night, but the moon illuminated the thin clouds and a few stars were visible. There was something calming about the night... maybe it was the chirping of the crickets, or the hooting of owls, or the simple presence of things unseen in the dark. Whatever it was it soothed Casey and for the first time that night she was able to relax and forget any worries. Before long she drifted into a soundless, light slumber.
*Leon walked up to the astronomy tower. Some nights he was nocturnal and tonight was one of those nights. As he walked to the top he saw a girl laying on the floor. He walked over and gently tapped her on the shoulder* "Hey, wake up." *Leon was talking in a calming voice*
Casey yawned and opened her eyes slowly, blinking a few types. Where was she? It took her a couple of minutes to remember exactly how she had ended up here. She sat up and looked at Leon, she still looked a bit disshevelled(sp?) and confused. "Hello..." She said a bit groggily. She hadn't been sleeping heavily or for very long but the disorientation was getting to her.
