John walked the frozen lake. It wasnt all that cold out but the wind was fierce. John didnt care. He wore his silver sunglasses and long black winter jacket with the hood up as usual. Snow was blowing around but not coming down too heavy. He wandered around the lake "I wonder who i will find out here" he thought to himself.

Diana had been heading back from the forbidden forest. She hadn't been far in the forest, but the wind was picking up badly and it wasn't helping much. As she walked her hood up to keep her let down hair from blowing around in the breeze and her hands in her pockets she noticed a boy walking....away from the school.

Curiousity getting the better of her she started walking over to him calling out, "Where in the world are you going with the weather being like this?" It was none of her business she knew though she couldn't help but ask, it was a strange time to be out.

John turned "Nowhere in particular" John replied cooly. "Why are you out here?" he asked.

Diana stopped as she got closer hoping to hear everything he said. Surprisingly she did even though the wind was blowing badly. She nodded at his reply and shrugged, "I was heading in because of the weather."

"I see..." John said and glanced around. It was starting to snow heavier. "My name's John" he said.

Diana also looked around them she stuck her hand out letting the snow fall on to it when she heard the boy speak. Turning her gaze to him she smiled saying, "Nice to meet you John. I'm Diana."

John smiled back "Nice to meet you too Diana". He looked to the ice making sure he wasnt breaking it where he stood. He looked back to Diana "Are you in Ravenclaw?" he asked.

Diana walked closer to the frozen lake but stopped once she hit the edge ot it. At hearing John's questions she couldn't help but smirk something that now she was used to doing. "Why yes I am," she answered then added, "What gave it away?"

John moved towards the edge after noticing she wasnt going to come onto the ice. "It was a guess" John said stopping about two meters from her. "I am also in Ravenclaw" he explained.

Diana nodded at his explanation as she gave him a small smile. "I gues being Ravenclaw had a part in it," she told him as her eyes adverted to the ice infront of her. Biting her lip she thought for a few moments. "Is it safe?" Was what finally slipped from her lips.

John looked to the ice then retraced his steps with his gaze. "Ive been walking around for an hour or two" he said returning his gaze to Diana "It seems fine in this area".

Diana watched John as he retreced his steps. As she waited for his answer it looked to her that it was safe. When she finally heard his answer she stepped out carefully on the ice with her left foot first then her right. "An hour or two? You don't get cold easily do you?" She asked as she glanced back to him as she took a few more steps.

John smiled "No i dont" he answered. "Do you?" he asked. He didnt want to keep her from going to the castle if she did.

Diana smiled back at him and shrugged. "Sometimes I do. Right now I'm alright though, the wind isn't as strong," she told him. If the wind hadn't died down she would have gone inside because the wind brings along with it the cold.

"Ok good" John said satisfied with the answer. He took a few steps in a random direction to see if he'd slip. His boots didnt allow it , thankfully.

Diana nodded as she to took a couple more steps, though not so cautiously now. As she glanced at John she laughed some then asked, "Trying to get yourself to slip?"

John laughed "nope , just checking this spot" he made it to a slippery spot and stumbled.

Diana smiled as she heard his laugh and continued to walk. Though she immeadiately stopped in her tracks when she heard a thud on the ice. Looking up her eyes fell on John who she noticed must have fell. Walking over but with caution she asked, "Are you alright?"

John stayed down for a short moment. He felt so embarrassed "Yeah im alright" he said with a smile and got up.

Diana stopped right in front of John waiting while a frown of worry lit her face when he stayed down. She opened her mouth to say something but closed it when she saw his smile and heard his reply. Letting out a sigh she flashed him a small smile. "Well good, I'm glad to hear your alright," she said with a nod.

John looked at her "Thanks" he said. He walked more carefully.

"Your welcome, anytime," Diana told John with a smile. She also once she noticed him walking continued walking herself. After a moment she asked as her eyes where focused on the ice, "So how long have you been at Hogwarts?"

"This will be my fifth year here" John said. "How about you?" he asked.

"Well it's my fifth year also," Diana answered with a small smile. "I've been here sense my first year and love it."

John nodded "Its a pretty awesome place" he said.

Diana nodded in agreement. It had to be if she would think this like practically her second home....well first now that her parents were gone. frowning slightly she took a couple of steps her mind off as she slipped and fell.

After she fell she stayed down quiet but after a moment she started laughing.

A flicker of concern showed on John's face. He walked over and held out his hand."Are you ok?" he asked with a smile hearing her laugh.

As Diana looked up she nodded at the question asked while trying to get her laughter to quiet down. Taking the hand John placed in front of her she got up taking a deep breathe.

"Thanks," She told him with a smile her laughter now almost completely stopped. She wasn't sure why she laughed but she knew it felt good to even though she could have hurt herself. "That felt good....to laugh I mean."

John laughed "Its quite a rush isnt it" he said. "Only when you dont hurt yourself" he added with a grin.

"Yes it is. I mean one minute your walking perfectly fine then next you know it your on the ground," Diana agreed with a nod smiling. There were a lot of things that could give you a good rush and someitmes falling was one of them. "Yeah well I don't think I hurt myself. It dosen't feel like anythings broken or such. So I'm good." She told him a grin spreading across her face.

"Always a plus" John said with a smile.

Diana nodded with a smile. "Yes that is very true," she told him as she began to take a cautious step to the left where she had slipped. Before making any further step she made sure her foot was planted stifly on the ice.

John saw her stepping warily. He wanted to offer his hand for balance but he knew he'd probably fall and bring her down with him. He took a cautious step of his own. He noticed they were moving away from the shore.

Diana glanced back up and over at John to make sure he was behind her incase anything happened and they both happened to fall. As her gaze examined everything in her site she noticed that the wind had died down though it was still snowing lightly. Pushing the hood off her head she said, "I'm glad the wind's died done. If it hadn't I probably would have froze to death." Her last comment was said jokingly as a smile played on her lips.

John removed his hood but kept his sunglasses on (for reasons know only to him). "Freezing to death is not a good way to die" he said with a smile.

Diana watched as he took off his hood but kept his sunglasses on. A questioning look came to her face but she shook it off and smiled a little. "And there are good ways to die?" She asked as she stepped to the right.

"There are ways a bit more pleasant than freezing to death" John explained "Like dying of natural causes in your sleep"

As he finished Diana nodded, he had a point. She hadn't thought of those things when she asked the question. "Yeah true," she said pausing for a moment thinking. "Hey have you ever ice skated before?"

"I can't say i have" John said. "Have you?" he asked.

Diana nodded her head as she looked ahead. "Once, when I was younger," she replied. "I went for a friends birthday party. Let's just say it was a very interesting experince." She glashed John a grin as she stepped forward.
