*Mel was in the entrance hall, carrying her bags, and, of course, Mark. She had just come back after she had disappeared for a week, though. Nothing was wrong with her, in fact, she felt even better than she did when she left. She started her trek to the Gryffindor tower, because she was eager to see Kiley and Liam again. She had no idea that she had been one of the main topics of the whole school for the past week, or that she had really ended up causing Kiley and Liam a lot of trouble.*



~Mel

*Kiley was walking down the hall, not really looking where she was going, her head down as she was pulling her hair into a messy thing. (can't explain it, sorry lol) She kind of knocked shoulders with mel and mumbled a quick sorry before looking up and doing a double take* "MELANIE?!" *She shouted as she saw who it was*

Melanie:"KILEY!" *she exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear now, her eyes shining with the excitement of seeing Kiley again*"I'd hug you but...I can't." *she looked down at her bags and Mark, but never stopped smiling*



~Mel

*Kiley grinned and held up one finger as in 'one second..'. She reached and took her bags from her and tossed them to wherever and then took mark's carrier thingy and set it on the floor.* "There." *She said before mauling her in a hug really really really tight*

*Melanie laughed and hugged Kiley back*
Melanie:"I can't breathe, but I've missed you, so don't let go."


~Mel

"Jesus Mel.......I've missed you so much...." *She let go and looked at mel.* "Are you ok? Is mark ok? Where were you?"

Melanie:"We're both fine. I went to Sunderland. Simner was there, too. We were staying with someone from my church."




~Mel

"Staying with him......." I'll bet liam will be thrilled... *Then she remembered where Liam was and wondered if Mel knew* "Did you come straight here?" *She asked, feeling a twinge of worry/guilt in the pit of her stomach*

Melanie:"Yeah, but don't worry: we weren't even in the same room." *she assured her*"Of course I came straight here, why?"



~Mel

"I was just wondering if you went to see Liam..." *She mumbled, running her hand through her hair and looking away from her*

Melanie:"I was just going to go see him right now. Do you know where he is?" *she asked, having no clue about what had happened to him while she was gone.*



~Mel

"St. Mungos......." *She mumbled, not looking at her*

*Melanie lost any sign of happiness that she had had before. She almost didn't believe Kiley, though*
Melanie:"What?" *she asked, needing her to say it again just to be sure that it wasn't a joke.*



~Mel

"Liam's been in St. Mungos since the night before last...." *She said, looking back to mel, right in her eyes*

*Melanie gaped at Kiley. She had gone from her elated mood to being on the verge of tears. She looked at the ground for a second before looking back at Kiley.*
Melanie:"What happened?" *she asked, forcing her voice to stay even, and trying her hardest not to cry.*



~Mel

"He was at the fight club, and he got beaten really badly. He's in really bad shape. I found him outside, because I was....in the area." *She said, not wanting to say why she was in the area.* "He was barely consious........" ?*She said softly*

*Melanie turned away from Kiley so she couldn't see that she had started to cry. He's in really bad shape. The words kept echoing in her ears. She picked up Mark and turned around again, but she looked down at the ground*
Melanie:"I should have been there."



~Mel

"Wait Melanie...." *She said, grabbing Mel by the shoulder and wheeling her around* "We need to take your bags up to the dorm.....come on...." *She said, knowing she could do it herself but not wanting to let mel out of her sight*

Melanie:"No, what we need to do is visit Liam."



~Mel

"Mel.....I've been with him today. He's not gonna die. You can let him sleep for another 15 minutes while we take your bags back to the dorms..."

Melanie:"I don't care if he isn't dying, he's hurt! He didn't know where I was, he doesn't know where I am, and he doesn't know that I'm safe. I haven't seen him in a week, Kiley. I haven't been there for him and I need to be."



~Mel

"Please Mel? Will you just walk with me to take your bags up? Please? You kind of owe me for making me into a wreck for the past week...." *She said, playing the guilt card ((one of my personal favorites lol)) but not really saying how much of a wreck...not wanting mel to worry even more*

Melanie:"What do you mean I 'made you a wreck?" *she asked, not exactly comprehending what Kiley meant. She'd just gone away, afterall.


~Mel

"Mel, none of us knew where you went, when you were coming back if ever, and if you were still alive. Why do you think Liam was at fight club that night?" *She asked*

*Melanie looked away from Kiley*
Melanie:"Don't you think I'm responsible? I went away because I didn't want Mark to get hurt because of all of this fighting. And I think he was there because that's what Liam does; He always goes there."



~Mel

"Yeah, well, I was with him before he went....." *She muttered angerly*

Melanie:"Well instead of getting angry with me, tell me why he went!" *she exclaimed, becoming even more upset now that Kiley was angry with her. Upset meaning depressed, angry, of course. She wasn't going to say anything about Kiley being unfair to her, because she was right. Mel had been stupid to run off like that, and she owed Kiley. Not to mention it would be hypocritical of her to say anything....*



~Mel

"Because he thought you wern't coming back. You or mark. And he figured there wasn't much left to lose, and I couldn't convince him otherwise. So he went and bet all his money against some guy that he knew he couldn't beat........a lot of people in there said later it was like he had a death wish, Mel..."

*Mel stayed silent as she picked up her bags, not wanting to say anything. It was more like she didn't know what to say. So many things were going through her head that she couldn't keep one idea there for more than a second. Once she had her bags she had nothing left to do but stand where she was. She stayed like that for what seemed like forever, but in reality was only a few seconds. Then she looked up at Kiley and said the only thing that made any sense to her then*
Melanie:"I'll take my bags to the dorm, but the second they hit the floor I'm going to see him." *she couldn't even bring herself to saying Liam's name. She felt so terrible. What she thought was going to be a bright new day was turning out to be a dim grey one, and everything was crumbling before her, more so than it had since around the same time a year ago. It was her fault that he did that. Her fault. He did that because of her. He thought that they weren't coming back, he thought that he didn't have anything left to lose. It was her fault, and she couldn't stand it.*



~Mel

"I know...And I'm gonna come with you and hold mark so you can spend some time with Liam" *She said softly, taking some of mel's bags to help her*

Melanie:"He's going to hate me, Kiley. He's never going to want to see me again, why would he want to spend any time with me?" *she asked, trying her hardest not to cry any harder than she was already*


~Mel

*Kiley started to walk with her* "He's going to be so glad thaty ou're there and that you're ok...." *She assured her*

Melanie:"No, he's going to hate me. I left right after we had a fight."



~Mel

"I know." *She reminded her, having to listen to Liam ask if he knew anything about where Mel was.* "But I'm sure he'll be glad you're ok..."

Melanie:"No, he's going to hate me." *she argued. She was convinced of this, and nothing would change that.*



~Mel

*They had reached the dorms.* "Mel....I wanna warn you...." *She said, setting down his luggage.* "Remeber how I looked when I was in the hospital wing after I didn't take my wolfsbane those times....." *She paused, hoping mel would remember in what shape she was in....which was really bad*

Melanie:"Of course I remember that." *she replied*




~Mel

"He's like that....just as bad.....maybe even a little worse because at first he refused to let them fix him up...." She said, taking mel's bags and setting them down before reaching out and offering to take Mark from her by holding out her arms*

*Melanie shook her head. She didn't want to give up Mark, she needed to have some kind of reassurance right now, and he was it. Melanie took a deep breath and started to prepare herself for what she'd see once she got to the hospital, knowing for a fact that if she didn't prepare herself for it, bad things could happen. She looked down at Mark, who was innocently gazing around. She would have killed to be in his place. Not knowing the difference between good and bad, just loving whoever came by and treated him nicely. She wouldn't know that what was going on right now genuinly sucked*



~Mel

*Kiley let her arms drop back quietly at her sides* "I'll go get my coat......don't leave without me..." *She said, dashing up to the dorms and grabbing her minnt green tweed p coat and off white scarf and running back down the stairs only moments later* *Do you need his baby bag...or want me to carry it?" *She offered, wanting to be helpful*
