*Liam was laying in the bed in St. Mungos. He was covered in bandagess and in really bad shape. Liam was awake but had his eyes closed, so it may have looked like he was sleeping. there were a few other patients on the ward, but most of the beds were empty, and there was an empty chair that had been pulled closer to his bed*

*Melanie bolted into the ward, leaving Kiley behind her somewhere with Mark. When she saw Liam she was mixed with a feeling of absolute heartbreak and fear.

She was going to kill whoever did that to him.*
Melanie:"Liam!" *she exclaimed as she started to cry again. She wanted to hug him. She wanted to hold him and kiss him and tell him that she was there and she was safe, but she didn't want to hurt him. She didn't even sit down, she just stood there at a loss of anything to do or say except feel like the worst person on the face of the planet.*



~Mel

*Liam opened his eyes and looked up at Mel, a small smile on his face* "Mel...." *He said weakly, releaved that she was ok* "You're back..."



*Kiley walked into the ward slowly, holding mark, letting him pull at her hair as she talked to him and hung back from the two, not wanting to intrude on Mel and Liam*

*Melanie tried to smile, but it didn't really work out because she was too busy feeling terrible ((lmfao, that sounds like a 3rd grader wrote that)).*
Melanie:"I'm back. I'm not ever going to leave again, I promise." *she swore to him*"Would it hurt you if I held your hand?" *she asked, just to make sure.*



~Mel

"Which hand do you want to hold?" *He asked. His left hand had some scratches, and his right hand was bandaged from breaking some bones in his hand durring fighting*

*Melanie paused. Which one? That meant something had to be wrong with atleast one of them....*
Melanie:"Whichever one won't hurt when I hold it."



~Mel

"Left." *He said* "But not hard...." *He added*

Melanie:"Okay." *she took his left hand in hers, but made sure not to squeeze too hard*"Liam...I'm so sorry. You have no idea how horrible I feel right now. I never should have left. I'm so sorry...."



~Mel

*Liam felt a twinge of some sort of feeling in the pit of his stomach.* "Where did you go to?"

Melanie:"I went back home, to Sunderland. I didn't want Mark to get hurt because of all of the fighting going on. You never know what people will do. Just take a look at yourself." *she said sadly*"I know you put him up to it, but still....People can be terrible."



~Mel

"Why didn't you tell me?" *He asked quietly*

Melanie:"Because if you knew where I was and someone wanted to know, they could use veritaserum on you to find out. I shouldn't have done it, though. It was stupid and I didn't think everything out first. He could still get hurt even now...."



~Mel

*Liam pulled his hand away* "I thought you were gone for good. you and mark..."

Melanie:"I know...and I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, and I know that won't ever cut it. I know nothing I can say will make it okay, but I hate myself for making you think that and I need you to know that."



~Mel

*Liam nodded and looked away, out the window at the end of the ward, not really sure what to say*

Melanie:"You hate me." *Melanie concluded quietly after a few seconds of silence.*



~Mel

"Mel, what do you want me to say?" *He asked, his voice strained slightly*

Melanie:"I want you to just admit that you hate me right now so you can get it over with. "*she explained to him*"I'd hate me right now if I were you, so I know you hate me."




~Mel

"I don't hate you. I hate me." *He said, too exausted to care if that sounded dumb*

Melanie:"Why do you hate yourself? You didn't do anything!"



~Mel

"I don't want to explain it Melanie." *He said quietly*

Melanie:"Well then I won't make you."*she told him*"I love you, though." *she smiled again*"So you're going to need someplace safe and comfortable to stay when you come home. Would you rather stay in the living room or in our room?"


~Mel

*Liam paused and tore his eyes from the flowers sitting across the ward to look at mel* "When I come home?"

Melanie:"Well you're not going to live in Mungo's forever!" *she exclaimed*



~Mel

"Mel, I don't think that's the best idea..." *He said softly, looking away again, not wanting to see her reaction.*

*Melanie's heart stopped and she looked devastated. Liam was smart to look away because it probably would have hurt him*
Melanie:"Why not?" *she asked*



~Mel

"I think we should start off slow........finish out the year and see how it goes from there..." *He still didn't look at her*

*Melanie let go of Liam's hand, completely shocked.*
Melanie:"Are you breaking up with me?" *she asked him quietly*



~Mel

"I said we should just finish out the year and see how it goes..." *He said, looking at her when she let go of his hand*

*Melanie shook her head and started crying again*
Melanie:"No, you're breaking up with me!"



~Mel

*Kiley looked up from holding Mark and then decided it'd be best to leave the ward, so she walked away with mark out into the hall.*

*Liam looked away from mel not saying anything. He didn't know what else to say.*

Melanie:"Well if you're going to do it don't waste my time and make me wait; Do it now." *she demanded*



~Mel

*Liam ran a hand through his hair* "Melanie.........I just think it'd be best..."

Melanie:"Liam, if you aren't going to say it, I'll say it for you!"



~Mel

*Liam looked at her, waiting for her to say it, knowing it would kill him to hear her say it.*




*Kiley came back into the ward and waited by the door, looking at her feet*

*Melanie stared at Liam and realized something: He was completely serious.*
Melanie:"...No...." *she muttered, still not taking her eyes off of him*



~Mel

"It's over Mel." *He said quietly, his voice breaking*

*Kiley started to make her way over to Mel*

Melanie:"It's not!" *she shouted*"It's not over, you don't know what you're saying!" *she exclaimed, now positively sobbing*


~Mel

*Liam looked away, not able to watch her anymore.*

*Kiley held mark with her right arm while reaching for Mel's shoulder with her left hand* "Come on Mel...we should go..."

Melanie:"Don't touch me!" *Melanie shouted at Kiley, jumping up out of her seat*"Just leave me alone!"

*Melanie ran out of the ward and sat down against the wall just out side the door, crying even harder now that there was no one else around.*
