Cain sat behind his desk, calmly awaiting his students. He glanced at the clock, which told him they should be arriving momentarily. He leaned back in his chair, placing his boots on his desk. He hoped teaching at Hogwarts would be a better expirience than teaching at Durmstrang.

*Kiley walked into the room, sitting where she normally sat around the middle of the class, sighing. She leaned back in her chair, slouching, exausted from not sleeping much the night before. Kiley had been too caught up in being tired to notice that they had a new professor. She groaned and let her ehad fall back, her long hair falling back behind the back of the chair.*

Cain looked up at Kiley, raising an eyebrow. He laughed a bit, the way she seemed to pass out at her desk. He stood up and slowly walked over to her. Staring down at her, "You know," he said calmly,"That's a terrible first impression."

"I'm too tired to care about first impressions...they're never accurate anyway....." *She said, looking up at him. Kiley sat up and half smiled* "I'm Kiley."

Cain smiled, "Nice to meet you, I'm Professor Cain Draven." He leaned on his desk, glancing back and forth from the clock, to the door.

"So, do we have to call you professor draven?" *She asked then smiled* "I don't want to ruin the second impression by calling you by the wrong name"

Cain laughed at her remark breifly, "Yes, Professor Draven is the proper name." He folded his arms, and looked down at her, noticing the colors she was wearing. Figures, a Gryffindor, he thought to himself. Trying to hide his true feelings he asked, "And you are?"

ooc: does he mean her name? because she already said her name....I'll just say it again. lol

"Kiley Stewert.....5th year gryffindor, but I'm 16. " *She said, pushing a strand of her head behind her ear* "Were you a student here?

ooc: my bad. haha

Ic:

Cain nodded, "Yes.... I was a slytherin." He had a proud tone in his voice, which he had intended to leave lingering. He glanced back at the clock again, realizing only three minutes had gone by, so he began to relax a little. He looked back at Kiley, "Nice to meet you Ms.Stewart." He said this with a sarcastic tone, he was glad to meet her, but with her being a gryffindor, it wasn't that great to him.

Kain stalked into the room, a scowl on her face. You could quite tell by her stance and the way she walked that she was a Slytherin, through and through, although the green and silver uniform couldn't hurt.

"Hello professor, I'm sure you've been informed about me. My name is Kian Close. I failed muggle studies last year, due to lack of... interest." She said, snidely. She didn't much care for things muggle, but she didn't have a choice.

Draven shook his head, "No I haven't heard of you. Sorry to inform you. But I can see we're going to get along just fine." He smiled at her, it was good to see a young Slytherin. "I'm Professor Cain Draven. I trust someone one has warned you about me."

Jamie Fox open the door and walked in he glanced around there was only a few pepole there and that how he liked it so he sat down at the back of the class so he could keep a eye on them all. He said nothing as he did this.

*Melanie ran into the room*
Melanie:"Am I late?" *she asked in a loud, panicked voice. She looked around and noticed only three other students were there*"That's going to be a no...." *Not flustered at all by her shocking enterance, Melanie went to sit down next to Kiley. Once she had, she smiled up at the new professor.*
Melanie:"Hi." *she greeted*

Cain nodded and smiled towards Jamie, noticing that he was a Slytherin. He then glanced over at Mel. Draven's smile changed.

"Hello. I'm Professor Draven." He looked back up at the clock, waiting for more students to arrive.

Casey stumbled into the room, a little flustered, she wasn't one to be late to class and this was cutting it close. She'd known that they'd be having a new professor and she didn't want to make a bad impression. She looked at the professor and smiled weakly, "I'm not late am I?" she asked a little worriedly as she made her way over to her usual seat off to the side.

*Kiley sighed, watching his reaction as the other students entered, pleased when it was a slytherin, and when it was a gryffindor...not so much. She sighed and rested her chim on her hand, looking out the window off to the side of the room* "So this is going to be another one of those classes." *She muttered under her breath, hoping that professor draven couldn't hear*

She arched a brow.

"Fabulous. Can we get this over with?" She said, taking a seat. Her entire attitude screamed rebel, but the way she sat made it seem as though she actually wanted to learn.

Draven looked at Kian, shaking his head when Casey asked if she was late. With his eyes locked on Kian he said, "Let's get one thing straight. I'm in charge of this class. Got it?" He looked around the classroom, adressing it towards all of them.

"For those of you that don't know, I'm Professor Cain Draven. I graduated here from Hogwarts, as a Slytherin. I taught at Durmstrang for many years, and if you think I'll put up with any backtalk, or attitudes, then you've got another thing coming. Don't test me."

Kian saluted the man and crossed her legs.
"Yes sir. Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd like to learn!"

Draven looked at Kian, "I do enjoy your attitude Ms.Close. I enjoy it so much, that I'd like you to stay after for me. Keep me company. In detention." Draven looked around the room, "Anyone want to join us?"

A grin lit up her face.

"We're gonna be spending loads of time together, huh sir!" She said, still grinning.

Cain smiled, "Yes, I'm looking forward to it." He looked around the class, seeing if anyone else was willing enough to take him up on the offer.

*Whenever Kiley had mentioned 'another one of those classes' Melanie banged her head down on the desk and did not lift it back up until she spoke again*
Melanie:"I probably will be by the end of the class, but not because I want to, just because most teachers find me to be a complete nuisance." *she admitted*"I'll try and refrain from my nuisancery for you today, though." *she smiled at her made up word, actually liking the sound of it, and hoping that the Professor didn't give her a detention simply because she was talking and existing, like Harshing would.*



~Mel

Flame walked in, long black hair flowing down her back and grey eyes glazed over with boredom the second she walked in. She glanced around the classroom and sighed- wasn't this going to be fun? Pushing the thought from her mind she walked over to the professor.
"The ames Flame Lestrange. Don't forget it if you value your sanity. I already caused one teaher to..." she paused, thikning how to phrase this without making her outlaw nature to obvious. "Resign." she finished. "So anythin interestin gonna come up in this course or should I leave now?"

*Kiley sighed loudly and raised her hand, already annoyed* "So......what's with everyone's attitude today? Can't we all just get here, shut up and listen to what he has to say?" *She said, turning around and looking at the girl that had gotten detention already and Flame* "Jesus." *She muttered, turning back around. She didn't care if she got a detention for it. She hated when people thought that they were better just because they were in slytherin.*

*Melanie's smile faded when Flame spoke. She barely knew this girl and she didn't like her. She was like the uber bitch, and for Mel to think that about someone was like the apocalypse. Well, not it wasn't. She only hated 4 people: Cecil, Harshing, Wittle, and Grendal. Wittle was dead, Cecil disappeared, Grendal was gone, she only had to deal with Harshing. The point is that all of those people had done something horrible to her in the past, so Mel thinking that Flame was a bitch just from hearing about her was pretty bad. When Flame was done talking she banged her head off of the desk again*
Melanie:"Kiley, I have a feeling this is going to be worse than we thought." *she said outloud, not really caring about 'nuisancery' anymore.*

"Problem?" She asked when Kiley looked at her. After Flame walked in, Kian had pretty much tuned everything out.

She didn't even hear what Flame said.

Jamie had looked at everybody as they entered the room, as nobody interesting had come in, he put his head on the desk and did not look when someone else had enterd and did not look up till he heard Flame's voice, he looked at her and smiled not hearing what she had said.

She saw the look that Mel gave her and sniggered. "Don't tell me you liked Ashwood" But then she saw Jamie and walked over to him "Hello."

"Hi. this is going to be boring" he said a bit more loudly than he meant.

She shook her head. "Quiet then. You never know whose listening." but then shrugged. "But you're probably right" she said, sitting down.

Melanie:"No, I just don't like you." *She replied more rudely than she had intended*



~Mel

Cain had enough with all of their attitudes. "Now listen to me, all of you. If you think I'm going to put up with this classroom being a f***ing giant PMS land, then you've got another thing coming." He regained his temper and repeated himself slowly, "I'm Professor Cain Draven, for those of you that just entered the room. I can either be a professor you will tolerate, or a professor you'll hate. You get to decide that one, either way, I'm flattered" He chuckled to himself slightly, remembering how he had used that same line at Durmstrang.
He looked around the room, seeing how most of the class had their head on the desk. He motioned towards them with his wand, to pick their heads up. "Keep your heads, OFF of your desk yourselves, or I will MAKE them stay up...."

"Now, shall we begin?" He had hoped not to waste this much time, but under the circumstances, Draven let it slide.

*Melanie was a bit creeped out whenever he raised her head FOR her. She had had a bad experience with her body being 'stuck' before, and didn't really want it to happen again.*


OOC: Of course I'm talking about when Harshing put a freezing charmy thing on Simner and Mel while they were snogging! lol.

Flame turned on the other girl and shook her head. "Bring it." it was a cold snicker, twisted beyong belief. "See what I make of you. Perhaps you'll end up with Ashwood... Not that I'll tell you where that is."

She took a seat next to Jamie and pulled a face at the teacher.

Cain shook his head, it was good to see the young Slytherins, full of hate, and anger. He paced back and forth in front of the class, slowly, "Allright, who can tell me, why they have this class? Why do we need to know about Muggles?" It was a pretty open question, but he figured he could get the class in on a debate, maybe see where they all were at with this particular subject.

Casey watched the class bicker and wondered when they would get on to actually learning something. She sighed, almost inaudibly and slumped in her seat. At least this could be an interesting class, to say the least. When Professor Draven spoke she sat up, tempted to raise her hand, but she was too timid and shy to speak before the whole class.

Slouching in her chair she stared at him. "So we understand 'em better and can keep the wizarding world as secret as possible. When muggles find out it means they have to go to Mungos, taking up our resources which could be used on the better and more deserving. Basically so we don't look like idiots if we ever meet one."

"What she said" Jamie agreed nodding at Flame.

*Melanie raised her hand and actually waited to be called on by the Professor, thinking that that was what he wanted since most teachers did.*
