*Mel was at Mungo's to pick up her medicine at get a check up. She hated this because she had to do it so often. She was sitting the the examining room alone now (her check up was over and they were getting her the medicine) except for Mark. Who Mel was talking to out of boredom*
Melanie:"Aren't you glad that you aren't going to have to do this all the time? Yes, you are, because it's very boring and a bit irritating. It's. Not-" *just then the healer walked back in*"Hi." *she smiled innocently. The healer rolled her eyes, knowing Mel by now.*

Healer:"Fun." *she finished*

Melanie:"Even the healer agrees with me, Mark!" *she exclaimed.*

Healer:"Of course I do. Here's your medication." *she handed it to her*"You know how it goes. And I was told to tell you that your father's here."

*Melanie stared at the healer*

Melanie:"What?"

Healer:"He's here, in the hospital, and he's hurt. He was in a duel with someone."

Melanie:"He was probably trying to take them captive and kill them." *she said, not joking at all.*

Healer:"Well, they just wanted you to know. You don't have to visit him or anything; We know how you feel about him."

Melanie:"How bad is she?" *she asked*"What's he like?"

Healer:"Burns and cuts all over, and that's after they did work on him."

*Melanie sighed and stood up before picking up Mark*

Melanie:"What room is he in?" *she asked*

*Melanie had walked to the room, absolutely nervous and fearful, but going none the less. She didn't know why, but even after all that her father had done, she still felt like she had to help him and visit him. She was still his daughter, after all. He had a private room and Melanie found herself wishing that he didn't. He didn't deserve a room to himself, he didn't even deserve to be helped by these people. She put Mark, in his carrier, on a chair and turned it so that Mark was facing the wall, and the back of the chair was to her dad. If he was going to try and hurt him, she didn't know what she would do.

When she walked in, her dad was unconscious. It made sense to anyone who looked at him. He had obviously lost a lot of blood and most of his burns were really bad, but he was alive.

That bothered Mel. He should have died.

Melanie sighed and looked over him, trying to see if there was anything that she could help with. As she was doing this, a healer walked in*

Melanie:"Is there anything I can do to help?"

*The healer seemed surprised that Mel was there and didn't say anything*

Melanie:"I'm good with healing; I'm always helping out in the hospital wing."

Healer:"...Right. You can work on anything but the burns."

Melanie:"Good, because I wouldn't know what to do." *she replied with a small smile before taking out her wand and working on sealing up some of the open wounds. A while after Mel had started this (about 10 minutes in), her father woke up. Feeling his skin sew back together was rather painful, but he refrained from screaming. He was in a lot of pain aside from that anyway. Mel didn't look at him because she didn't care.

He looked at her, barely recognizing her. He hadn't seen her in so long and she had changed.*

Daniel (her dad):"Melanie?"

*Mel still didn't look at him*

Melanie:"What?"

Daniel:"What are you doing here?"

*He didn't believe it. Why was she of all people there? And why wasn't she in the same state she was the last time he had seen here. When he had seen her, she was with some boy who beat her and didn't care for her at all. Now she only seemed tired.*

Melanie:"Taking care of you." *she answered simply.*

Daniel:"Why?"

*Melanie finally looked over at him*

Melanie:"Because I'm your daughter and it's what I'm supposed to do."

*Daniel sighed, continuing to try and ignore his pain. He was actually glad that Mel was there. He didn't know why. He had told himself long ago that she was worthless and he hated her, but still....*

Daniel:"Where's the boy?" *he asked after a minute. By 'the boy' he meant Simner, which was who Mel was supposed to marry. They had put on a stunt where Mel completely hated him because he beat her and he was from a very wealthy influental family. It had gotten him to agree to sign the consent papers because he believed it to be true*

Melanie:"You mean Simner?"

Daniel:"Him, yeah."

Melanie:"At Hogwarts. I never married him, you know."

Daniel:"Oh."

Melanie:"You wouldn't have been invited to the wedding anyway."

Daniel:"Okay." *Mel was being harsh on him, but he didn't mind. She was a stupid girl anyway*

Melanie:"Because then you would have known that it was all a lie."

Daniel:"What do you mean?"

Melanie:"We really were in love. He never hit me, he isn't and wasn't rich, he wasn't a ba-" *Melanie was about to swear when she remembered Mark was in the room*"a jerk like you."

*Daniel found Mel's pause odd.*

Daniel:"Why the hell did you do that?"

Melanie:"Because there's a small child in the room, dad, and I don't want him to hear things like that." *she explained to him in a very smart arsey tone.*

Daniel:"What the hell do you mean, there's not a child in the room; it's just you and me."

Melanie:"No, it's you, me" *she started, putting her want away and walking to the chair that where Mark was. She turned it around so her father could see him*"And your grandson."

*Grandson? He was a grandfather now, but he knew Mel would never let him into the baby's life after what he had done. It also meant, though, that Melanie had grown up. She's had a baby, and that meant- Oh god, he didn't want to think about it. He put on an act to make it seem like this meant nothing to him.*

Daniel:"So Jason didn't lie, you are a slut. He wasn't just making up a story."

*Melanie cringed at what he said. Jason was Kiley's dad, and Melanie really didn't want to think about her little run in with him.*

Melanie:"No, that was the only time I ever did that. I wanted Mark. I chose to have him. I found someone who loved me and was willing to do that for me and so it happened. I love both of them."

Daniel:"Is he rich?"

Melanie:"No."

Daniel:"Then what use is he?" *he practically shouted, which he instantly regretted because it made him hurt more.

*Melanie turned away from her dad, not believing his nerve. Of course he hadn't meant it. She was in love. His little girl was in love....*

Melanie:"Don't even go there, please, because you don't care. You've missed too much of my life to even begin to understand."


OOC: Now would be a lovely time for someone to walk in. Why? Mel would have been there for a while so maybe they started to get worried since she wasn't back yet.

*Kiley and Liam had been planning on going out to eat with mel and Mark aftetr she went to mungos. However, when she hadn't come back they'd gotten worried and decided to come meet her. Liam apparated and Kiley held on, seeing as that was fast and she wasn't certified to do it on her own yet. Anyway, after Kiley got over her motion sickness from apparation, She and Liam set off to find Mel. A healer had told them she was with her dad in room 666. ((haha, how ironic)) Kiley thought the healer muct have had her facts wrong, but sure enough as they cam e closer, Ki heard him yelling and paled slightly. It was his fault and his alone that her life had been so messed up over the past few years. Kiley's bruises were slightly better and she still wore the engagement ring from weston. Liam was in a long sleve black shirt with the sleaves pushed up half way up his arms. His muscular build was hinted at through the fabric. Liam entered first with Kiley right behind. They stopped in the door, not sure exactly what to do. Liam looked from Mel to mark to her father, and Kiley looked down.*

*Melanie turned around quickly. When she saw Liam and Kiley in the doorway as opposed to stupid people she didn't care about (like the healers) she smiled. She left her dad, not listening to anything he might have said and threw her arms around Liam.*
Melanie:"I'm sorry I didn't tell you I was staying here, but my dad...he's still my dad, so I felt like I should come here."




~Mel

*Liam held mel for a moment, Rubbing her back before letting her go* "It's fine, Love. We just wanted to make sure you're alright." *He paused and stared at her father* "You are alright, arn't you?"

*Kiley moved into the room past Mel and Liam and picked up Mark out of his carrier and held him so she would be distracted. He grabbed at her hair and pulled it slightly. Kiley couldn't help but to smile as she looked at him*

*Daniel looked around, officially confused and definitely at a loss of anything to do except ask a mildly important question*
Daniel:"Who's that?" *he inquired, meaning Liam. He would've motioned but doing that would cause him a lot of pain.*

Melanie:"My boyfriend. See, dad, some people in the world believe that I am important and do have a purpose. So as you'll guess, what you think doesn't mean anything to me."

Daniel:"Do you think I don't know that, Melanie? I don't think you're a worthless slut because I think it will make you feel worthless, I think it because it's true."

*Melanie turned away from him*

Melanie:"And now you know exactly why I wish that his injuries would have killed him." *she told Liam, but loud enough for her dad to hear. This got him angry, but upset at the same time. She really hated him THAT much.*

Daniel:"You b*tch! You don't talk about your father like that. You don't talk about a man like that ever. They should be treated with complete respect." *he tried to sit up and ended up screaming and laying back down almost immediately*"You make sure she knows that, boy. You make sure she knows that girls aren't for anything but keeping us happy and doing work for us."

Melanie:"Liam, don't." *she pleaded, looking up at him, knowing that physical violence was probably crossing his mind.




~Mel

*Melanie, of course, was right.* "I'm sorry, what?" *He said, ignoring Mel and stepping past her infront of her father's bed* "You don't talk to me like that. I don't care who you are. Don't talk to me like that. And you espically don't talk to Mel like that....you don't even think about talking to Mel like that. Because if you ever do again, the second you're out of this bed, or even before it if the mood takes me, you'll be in trouble. So just shut your fat mouth and say you're sorry to your daughter."

*Melanie walked up to Liam and put her hands on his shoulders, trying to calm him down*
Melanie:"Come on, don't worry about-" *but before she could finish her sentence, her dad started to yell*

Daniel:"I don't know who the f*ck you think you are, but you have no right to tell me what to do. I'm older and wiser than you and I could easily hurt you more than you could ever hurt me."

Melanie:"Actually I'm not sure about that, Liam is always-"

Daniel:"WAS I TALKING TO YOU, MELANIE? NO! IF I WANTED TO HEAR ANYTHING YOU HAD TO SAY I WOULD HAVE ASKED YOU."

Melanie:"OH SHUT UP!" *she shouted*"Stop acted like you're superior to the world and grow up. Even your grandson is more mature than you are!"

*He was angry now, to the point that pain didn't matter to him. He kicked Melanie in the stomach. He didn't feel any of the hurt that he should have. Melanie screamed let go of Liam before doubling over*

Daniel:"Didn't you hear me last time?" *he yelled. Melanie looked up at him but didn't say anything. He slapped her across the face. Melanie refrained from screaming, but she started to cry*"I asked you a question now answer it*

Melanie:"I did, but I don't give a damn about what you have to say."

*He punched her. He was trying his hardest not to scream out in pain, but Melanie wasn't. She didn't full out scream, but she did let out a bit of a whimper*

Daniel:"I don't care if you care or not, you have to obey me."

Melanie:"Why?" *she asked*

Daniel:"Because I'm your father."



~Mel

*Liam stepped foward and punched him in the face as hard as he could, which was pretty hard, because Liam's ripped* "You may be her father, but you're not her dad." *He reached for mel to comfort her, not taking his eyes off Daniel*

*Kiley was making her way for the door with mark so he wouldn't get hurt or anything*

*D*mn did that punch hurt Daniel, but did he show it? Of course not, he was a guy, and a guy that was trying to be tougher than he was. He ignored Liam and looked at Kiley*

Daniel:"Stay in here." *he demanded*

Melanie:"Why do you care? It's not like she or Mark mean anything to you at all."

Daniel:"It's so your son can learn how women should be treated since his father obviously won't do any good there."


*That was it: He had insulted Liam. Any reservations Mel had were completely gone. She broke away from Liam and started screaming and doing whatever she could to Daniel to hurt him, absolutely anything she could think of.*

Melanie:"YOU A*S! JUST BECAUSE WE'RE NOT RAISING HIM EXACTLY AS YOU WOULD DOESN'T GIVE YOU ANY RIGHT TO TELL HIM THAT HE ISN'T DOING ANY GOOD. HE IS DOING ALL HE CAN, AND THAT IS A LOT. HE'S TRYING SO HARD AND HE IS DOING WELL, TOO. HE'S A MUCH BETTER FATHER THAN YOU EVER WERE." *she stopped and took a breath*"But it's not like that's hard to do."

*All of the pain had caused her dad to pass out, and Mel thought that she had killed him and started to cry again. It was one thing to be disowned, but it was another thing to not have any parents anywhere at all.*



~Mel

*Liam grabbed mel and pulled her back, holding her in his arms firmly. Kiley walked back in as a healer pushed through to check his vitals. He threw the 3 kids a dirty look before reviving Daniel and walking back out, shuttnig the door. Kiley moved to a chair against the wall and sat, holding onto Mark*

*Melanie yelled whenever he was revived. She had gone from wishing he was alive to wishing he was dead in the matter of a second.*

Melanie:"Why couldn't you have died? Why could you have just DIED." *she tried to escape from Liam's arms even though she knew that it was no use.*"After everything you've done it's what you deserve. You ruined my life, you ruined it! It's your fault that I'm the way that I am today!"

*Mel had forgotten that he had absolutely no idea about her whole cutting/depression/HIV ordeal.*

Melanie:"You're probably happy to know that I might die while you're alive. That'll make you ecstatic, just like when you killed Becky and Mum."


*After that, Mel had another mood swing and started to cry again. She stopped trying to fight out of Liam's arms and stood there limply, looking very feeble and hopeless*




~Mel

*Liam held onto her and let her cry, gently stearing her to another chair that he sat on and pulled her onto his lap so he could still hold her, glaring at her father all the while.*

*Kiley sat quietly, gently putting mark back in his carrier because her arms were getting tired. She sighed and slumped back into her chair, wishing she still didn't have the bruises from jesse*

Daniel:"What do you mean you're going to die while I'm alive?" *he asked. Melanie didn't say anything to him; She was trying to pretend like he wasn't even there.*


~Mel

"Why do you care? Can't you just leave her alone?" *Kiley snapped, speaking for the first time since they'd entered the room*

*Daniel turned to Kiley. He decided to use her in order to make Mel feel worse*

Daniel:"I guess I can't resist, just like your father couldn't. Of course Mel told you about what happened between her and your father about a year ago, didn't she? Of course she did. He found her walking through Knockturn Alley asking anyone who seemed interested if they wanted a screw. No one thought she was good enough, of course, so he told her yes out of pity. He told me that she seemed to actually enjoy it."

*Mel felt sick to her stomach. She was embarassed, ashamed, disgusted, and upset. Most of it was a lie, but it still hurt*




~Mel

*Kiley was embarassed too* "Dear old dad." *She said sarcastically as if she was fond of him. Kiley knew what had happened with mel and her dad, and she decided to use her lack of chock to her advantage*

Melanie:"I want to leave." *she chirped*"I can't do this any more."




~Mel

"Go ahead." *She said, still looking at mel's dad.* "I think I'm gonna stay fr a little longer*

Liam: "Mel, we shouldn't leave her alone with him, espically with the bruises she's got already..."

Melanie:"Kiley, why? Why can't you come with us? He's only going to start hurting you now too!"




~Mel

"I want to hear what he has to say. Talk." *She said, obviously being stubborn towards Mel* "You guys can go. I'll be okay." *She was obviously being reckless, not caring if she got hurt*

Melanie:"Kiley, I'm not going unless you come too and I want to go now!"




~Mel

"Just wait out in the hall. Please Mel? He ruined my life too...." *She pleaded*

Melanie:"Kiley, I am not letting you in here alone and I am not letting Liam stay here with you while I wait in the hall either."

*Daniel laughed sickly*

Daniel:"And let me guess that you're just going to sit there and listen to her, aren't you Liam? You're going to let her tell you what to do?"

Melanie:"I'm not telling him, I'm saying that I'm not letting him." *she snapped. Since she was still upset, she really wasn't making any sense at all.*


~Mel

*Liam rubbed her back reassuringly* "It's okay honey. I understand. I'll do whatever you'd like me to do." *He looked at daniel* "See, we share in our relationship. Sometimes, I tell her what to do, other times she tells me what to do. We don't have a boss. We're equal.. Kiley, come on."

*Kiley shook her head* "No. Just wait in the hall with the door open. Please Melanie."




ooc: how about daniel talks to kiley now, kay? lol

OOC: I don't know what he should say, that's kind of why I had Mel talk. lol.

IC:

*Melanie looked at the floor before standing up*

Melanie:"Fine, but if I healer tries to come in, I'm not stopping them."



~Mel

"Thank you." *She said, feeling her stomach lurch* "She looked at daniel, waiting.*


ooc: you know who he reminds me of? locke's dad.

OOC: I see him as this lovely combination of all of the b*stardy men on LOST. lol.

IC:

*Melanie left and whether or not Liam followed her is up to Kiley. Once they were gone, because Mel would have found a way to force Liam out of the room with her, Daniel spoke to Kiley*

Daniel:"What do you want from me?" *he asked*


~Mel

*Liam followed, but waited right in hearing distance of the activities in the room*

"I want you to say you're sorry" *She said as she looked at him with a penetrating yet emotionless and void gaze*

Daniel:"For what? Don't bother; I'm not sorry for anything and I'm not going to say I am."


~Mel

ooc: is he ever gonna say something mean to her? lol

ic:

*Kiley sat and stared him, seemingly waiting patiently*

Daniel:"So, Kiley. How has your career as a whore been going? It suits you well, in fact, I couldn't think of a job that you'd be better for."

*Kiley felt her heart skip a beat but she triednot to let it show. However, when she spoke, her voice quivered slightly* "I'm not a whore"

Daniel:"Oh come on, Kiley. Don't hide the truth from yourself. You know just as well as I do that you're a whore. What would your mother have to say about that?"



~Mel

*Kiley gritted her teeth, willing herself not to scream. That's what he would want her to do.* "My mother would believe me over you any day. And if she were alive then my life would be compleatly different than it is now. Don't you dare talk about my mother."

Daniel:"So you're saying that it's your mother's fault that you sleep around? That's a rather heavy accusation now, isn't it?"





~Mel

"I don't sleep around, and if I did, then no, it wouldn't be her fault. You're twisting my words around."
