Two year old Ian was toddling by the lake as best as he could on his two legs. When he got right in front of the water he fell into a crawling position, gurgling in excitement to see the water rippling before him.

OOC: Would I be allowed to post here? Mel's a mommy so she'll go all...umm...mommy on him. :D

*Melanie was walking down to the lake with her own baby in his carrier. She about died whenever she saw another baby near the water. Babies and water generally spelled distaster. She ran down to him and set Mark down on the ground before trying to pick the boy up*

Melanie:"Honey, you shouldn't be that close to the water! It's dangerous!" *she had no idea who's kid this was or who he was, she just knew that she cared about him. It was a baby, her instant instinct was to care about him.*"You wouldn't want your mummy and daddy to see you hurt, would you?" *she didn't even know if he was old enough to understand what she had said.*

Ian giggled and clapped his hands. "Baby!" He pointed at the baby on the floor.

"Daddy...Auntie 'Lilah..." He was rambling off words he knew before coming to one that fit.

"Pretty!" He touched the girl holding him's cheek.

*Melanie grinned.*
Melanie:"Awwww! And you're a cutie, but I bet you knew that!"

*Mark started to get jealous of baby Ian and started to cry.*

Melanie:"It's okay, Mark, you're still my number one." *Giving him some attention seemed to be satisfactory enough for him. because he stopped crying.*

Ian giggled. "Baby baby baby..." Ian wriggled out of the woman's arms and gently touched the baby's face.

"Mark..."

*Melanie rolled over onto her stomach so she could watch the two. As Ian touched Mark's face he giggled and tried to touch Ian's as well.*
Melanie:"Mmhmm, that's my baby's name. What's you name?"



~Mel

"Ian Jacob!" although it sounded more like "Een Japob!"

He gently brushed the other baby's hair. "Pretty baby"

IC:

*Melanie gasped, pretending to be amazed.*
Melanie:"My brother has the same name as you!"


*Mark gurgled whenever he started to touch his hair and looked very confused. He wasn't upset by it, it just threw him off.*

He gently lifted a few strands of hair.

"Yellow like daddy..." He giggled at the recognition.

Melanie:"Does your daddy have pretty yellow hair like his?" *she asked. Or did he mean Mark's daddy? She doubted that the baby understood genetics at such a young age though.*


~Mel

Ian nodded. "Daddy Yellow. Auntie 'Lilah brown...Tall auntie... Daddy yellow." He touched his own bright blue eyes. "Daddy blue."

Melanie:"Really? Do you know your daddy's other name?" *she had deciphered that Delilah was his aunt but knowing who his father was was a little bit more important to her.*

Ian looked confused.

"Daddy eyes blue."

He nodded. "Cole." (But it sounded like "Coh.") "Coh Bera!"

Melanie:"Cobera?" *Melanie thought, now she was confused too.*"Cole Vera?" *she asked. That was the only name that sounded remotely like that that she knew.*



~Mel

Ian clapped his little hands.

"Coh Bera!" He pointed to himself. "Een Bera!" His last name wasn't really Vera, but he understood the concept of the last name making him his father's son.

"Coh yellow."

Melanie:"You're really smart, Ian!" *she picked up Mark from his carrier since he was beginning to look extremelly upset and jealous.*"So is Mark. He's a very smart baby." *she kissed her son on the top of his head.*"Does your daddy always let you alone like this?" *she inquired. It was something that had been bothering her for a while. This little boy was at the lake where he could easily drown...why was he there?*

The baby's lower lip began to shake. In all actuality, he had only met his father once...His grandparents took him away from his house and brought him here to be with his daddy, but he didn't know why, or where his daddy was.

Ian began to cry out.

"Daddy!"

Melanie:"What Ian, what's wrong? What about your daddy? Do you want to see him?"

*Melanie just assumed that the baby was just generally missing his father, not what was actually going on.*



~Mel

Ian nodded happily, the tears still all over his face.

"Daddy!"

Melanie:"Do you want to go in the castle with me so we can find him? Mark, you can help me too." *she put Mark back in his carrier so she could hold Ian's hand just to make sure he wouldn't wander off. I feel like the stork.... Melanie thought to herself.*"Are you two ready for a trip?" *Mark still didn't really understand much human speech yet, so he just sort of looked at Mel.*

"Ca....stle." He said trying out the new word.

"Castle. Castle!"

Melanie:"Mmmhmm, that's what that big place is." *she told him. We're going to go inside and find your daddy." *she started walking whether or not Ian was following her yet or not. She was holding his hand so he had to very soon.*
