Cole walked into the kitchens.

"Hot chocolate please. Give me some chocolate rasins too..."

A.J. walked into the kitchens, it was another night of bad dreams. She sighed and looked around spotting another kid there. She didn't pay much attention to him, she was used to having other poeple there on her, midnight runs. an elf came up to her wondering what she wanted, she told him the usual and he ran off to fetch tea and a cookie. A.J. was wearing black shorts and a green tank top ontop of a gray long sleeves shirt. She pulled herself up to sit on the counter and watched her bare feet swing back and forth.

Cole turned to look at the girl.

"Be careful dressed like that." He took off his thick hoodie and tossed it in her direction. "This time of night, men like to do stupid s**t. My name is Cole."

A.J. was taken by suprise when his hoddie came flying her way. She raised an eyebrow and looked down at herself. She was just wearing her pjs, She shrugged and smiled slightly pulling it over her head and slipping her tiny arms through the sleeves. It was warm. " I'm A.J." she told offered. " Nice meeting you Cole." she said softly.

He nodded and ate some of his chocolate rasins. "Grab me some cereal too please." He looked from the elves to the girl. "Hi A.J. It's really late to be out on your own with bare legs like this. Don't trust teenaged boys."

A.J. pulled her legs up to her chest. " I wasn't really expecting to see anyone." she said with a slight laugh. She sipped her tea letting the warm liquid flow down her thraot. " I don't trust teengae boys." she smiled slightly and looked down at her painted black toenails.

He shook his head. "Sorry. This isn't my place. I tend to be really nosy when it comes to pretty, tiny little girls. You could be hurt really easy."

He realized he sounded like a weirdo, but he was just thinking back to an old friend...

A.J. nodded. " Thanks." she said with a sigh, she was used to guys being pigs she knew what it was like to be hit on by some guy that doens't know when to stop. But it kind of felt nice to meet someone who wasn't like that and watched out for people vulnerable enough for it to happen to. She took another sip of her tea and sat in the silence letting it soak in.

"You haven't been here that long have you? I was here for years but I had to take a year off...For some rest..." He didn't feel like revealing his secret to the world just yet, but he had never seen this girl before so he was pretty curious to know...

" Acually." she started. " I've been here since my first year, I'm in my sixth year now. Poeple don't usually take notice to me so I'm used to peopple thinking I'm new." she sighed, she was always keeping to herself, she only got to hang out with people when she partied whcih wasn't often because going back to the fact that not alot of people notice her. She smiled though trying to get her thoughts unmixed.

"Sorry...I usually keep to myself. Which is pretty hard...I have a lot of family here. Not many friends, but my cousins are sort of on the well-known side...Making me a target of friendships I don't want." He chuckled to himself.

"Listen to me...A pretty little thing like you must have tons of guys following her around. I'm just baggage."

He took the bowl of cereal from the elf.

"Thanks. Oh and A.J...You can keep the sweater."

He turned to leave, secretly hoping she would stop him.

" Oh yes just tons of guys." she laughed. " As if. Most of the guys don't want to hang out with a girl that would rather read then make out with them." she smiled but then he was leaving. she bit her lip, she didn't want to be down here alone, she'd start thinking about her brother and then she'd start crying and the elves would tyr and cheer her up and then she'd be annoyed. She jumped down from the counter and ran scurried to the door. " Wait." she paused and blushed. "Please don't leave me here alone." her voice was soft.

He smirked. "You want my company? That's a first...But then again, I couldn't feel right knowing you were down here alone." He hopped up on one of the stoves and rested one foot on the counter as he shoveled down some cereal.

"It's pretty late...Why didn't you eat at dinner?"

A.J. let out a sigh of relife and sat back down on the counter. " I did eat dinner." she told him. " I have these bad dreams and it makes me feel better when I come down here and have some tea and a chocolate chip cookie." she shrugged. " What brought you down here? Midnight cravings?" she asked.

He shook his head.

" I just don't sleep really. I've been thinking about my family...my schoolwork...You know, everything that brings stress to a man's life."

A.J. nodded as he spoke, her eyes watched an elf roam around, she pulled her legs up to her chest and rested her chin on her left knee. She kept silent, she was just thinking.

"Any Men in your life?"

A.J. tilted her head so she could look at him and she shook her head no. " Nope." she said slolwy then averted her eyes back t owhere the elf had been but it had scrambled off to it's other elf friends.

:You're not much of a conversationalist are you?"

A.J. smiled slightly. " Well usually I am but it's kinda late." she told him.

He nodded. "Yeah well...I guess I'm more talkative when I'm sleepy because usually I hate people." He realized that he sounded like an ass but hey, it was the brain fart time of night.

" Well then I'm glad you're sleepy." she laughed slightly.

He chuckled. "Thanks, I think.:

A.J. laughed and nodded. She didn't want to be sitting there anymore. " Let's go for a walk." she said getting up and walking to the door sticking her head out, she stood on her tip toes then settled back on her feet and turned her head to look at him.

He raised an eyebrow.

"Where to?"

A.J. shrugged and wrinkled her little nose. " I don't know, lets just walk and see where we end up." she pushed her glasses up on her nose.

He shrugged.

"Alright I guess. Let's go then." He slid off the counter and walked over to the door, looking over to see if she was coming as well.

A.J. walked out of the kitchens and looked around, she entered the moon filled corridor and her eyes wandered everything, the walls, the shadows the night sky. It was all..so beautiful. Her mind spun as she just walked in her own little world, she didn't want to leave that little world and come back to reality. She closed her eyes for a moment taking it all in. Night was her favorite time, it was the only time she could be her, let all her fears behind and just be Amber Janet Grashina. No one else mattered.

He looked over at the girl and raised an eyebrow.

"You don't get out much do you?"

A.J. looked at him. " No." she said simply, her eyes cast to the ground, she was back in reality.

He chockled.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get you all self consious."

A.J. shrugged as she walked looking out at the moon. She had acually forgotten he was even there until his voice filled her ears, her mind so distant. She smiled though and stopped, waiting until he was beside her so she could walk with him.
