*Melanie entered the apartment and closed the door behind her, wanting to slam it but not knowing if Mark was sleeping or not; If he was, she didn't want to wake him. She was obviously hot and bothered about something. Well, more like someone. She had just seen Delilah and she was extremelly irritating to her. She walked over to the couch and sat down with her arms folded across her chest.*
Melanie:"Hi." *she grumbled in a barely audible tone.*



~Mel

*Liam walked in with a copy of the daily profit tucked under his arm.* "Hey mel. What's up? you ok?" *He asked, sitting down and ufolding the paper*

*Melanie looked over at him, unintentionally glaring at him simply because she was angry and couldn't do anything but glare.*
Melanie:"I hate Delilah Ferrarri."




~Mel

"Oh." *He said, then after a slight pause* "Who's that?"

Melanie:"Some b*tch who left school forever and came back. She's a bloody whore and yet she's calling me a skank! How am I a skank, Liam, tell me."




~Mel

"You're not hon." *He mumbled, still reading his paper*

Melanie:"Then why would she say that? GOD I hate her! I bet she's off sleeping with someone right now. Probably Jesse Watkins. He's a man-whore. They'd go great together. Both completely ignorant and self absorbed and only caring about sex. It's brilliant, really, it is. Bloody veela. You know, she criticized me today because I'm a mother. Do you know what I say to that? I say 'at least I'm with someone whom I love and loves me back and we're loyal and caring and support eachother and always listen to eachother'. That's something she'll never have."



~Mel

"You're right. I bet she won't." *He said, then turned the page.*

Melanie:"And she will especially not ever have someone like you because she's too much of a scumbag. Am I a scumbag Liam?" *she looked over at him, very concerned, but still having no idea that he wasn't really listening to her.*"Am I dirty like her? I don't want to be like her at all...."



~Mel

*He looked up over the top of the paper at her* "No baby you're nothing like her." *He said, telling her what she wanted to hear, feeling slightly guilty in the very back of his mind for not listening.*

Melanie:"Good, I'd have to kill myself if I was. Augh, whenever I walked into the library there was a camera above her head constantly taking pictures of her. Even Madame Pince didn't tell her to stop. It's disgusting. She even made up some lie about her nephew being the one taking them. The only reason he would want that many pictures of her, as I told her, was so he could so them to horny little boys and make a profit."



~Mel

"You're probably right" *He mumbled, then added* "Isn't that illegal?"

Melanie:"Yes, but do the kids care? No. They're making a galleon, it doesn't matter. She probably knows about it, too, she just wants to try (and fail) to be modest. I was hungry before I went to see her, too, but as soon as I walked into the library I lost my appetite, and it's all because of her."




~Mel

"That's a shame." *He said, turning the page again* "Did you just come from there?"

Melanie:"Yes. I don't know why I stayed that long. I should've just walked away, but no: I had to talk. I always do that."



~Mel

"I like listening to you talk" *He commented absently*

*Melanie gave Liam an odd look.*
Melanie:"Yes...I know that...."




~Mel

*Liam looked up at her and smiled* "You really should try to eat something mel. It's not healthy for you to skip a meal." *He said, not really liking the idea of her skipping a meal because he was afraid of her getting sick*

Melanie:"I'm not hungry, though." *she responded, giving him a pitiful look.*"It's Delilah's fault."




~Mel

"Please mel...just...leat some pretzles or chocolate or something." *He said, just wishing for once she would do what he asked her to do instead of being difficult*

Melanie:"Oh, fine. I'll eat an apple so you don't worry about me. It's even healthy."

*She got up and walked to the kitchen to get the said apple. She came back and took a bite out of it. Once she had swallowed that, she continued talking.*

Melanie:"I'm sorry I complain so much. Do you want to talk about anything?"




~Mel

*He paused a minute while thinking of what it was he had wanted to tell her* "Mark was coughing this morning when I woke up. He's asleep now. It's probably just croup or something. Charlie had that as a baby."

*Mel started panicking. Mark being sick was like the end of the world for her.*
Melanie:"Did you check for a fever? Has he been vomiting? If it's only the cough we'll have to take him to Mungo's, if it's everything we just need to take him outside at night."




~Mel

"Mel, it's just croup.....he doesn't need to go to mungos for a cough." *He said, looking up from his paper and looking at her like she was slightly nuts.* "He's got to be able to fight some stuff himself so he won't get it again. He has a slight feaver but it's back down now and he's asleep. Seriously mel. I think I can handel my kid."

Melanie:"I know, I just don't like him being sick." *she mumbled the last phrase. She was always going to be scared whenever he got sick even though she knew that he didn't have HIV like her. She still had that nagging worry, though.*


~Mel

"Okay. He's fine. Just let him sleep so he can get better. It's not as bad as charlie had it, that's for sure." *He said, going back to his paper*

Melanie:"Alright." *she took another bite of her apple*"Is there anything interesting in there?" *she asked just for the sake of conversation.*



~Mel

"No......just the regular...." *He mumbled. A barking cough came forth from when mark was sleeping and liam sighed* "I got him..."

Melanie:"Can you bring him out here so I can see him?" *she asked*



~Mel

*Liam got up, nodding, and walked to get mark. He quickly picked him up by his ankles and patted him on the back, lightly but firmly. It was a trick he'd learned from a book to use on charlie when he was a baby. He continued to hold him upside down patting him on the back while he coughed as he walked back out to the room. The thought hadn't even crossed his mind that mel might freak out at the sight of liam holding mark upside down*

*And of course she did, but just a little bit. She trusted him, it was just....why, you know?*
Melanie:"Liam why in the world are you holding Mark upside down?"



~Mel

*Liam smiled* "I learned it with charlie." *He said, then hit mark a little harder on the back. He spit phlem up on the ground and stopped coughing* "See?" *He said, proudly as he flipped mark the right way up.* "I'll clean that up." *He said, holding mark with his left arm and ripping off a paper towel with his right*

Melanie:"No, I'll get it." *Melanie leaped off of the couch and hurried over to Mark and Liam. She kissed Mark on the head before holding out her hand so Liam could give her the paper towel.*



~Mel

*Liam handed her a paper towel* "Thanks Mel. I'll put him back to bed" *He started walking back, then said to mark* "See, daddy did good."

*Melanie grinned and cleaned up the mess on the floor.*
Melane:"Yes, daddy did very good. As usual, though, it's nothing new or surprising. He's just amazing." *She put the nastied up paper towel into the garbage can and grinned as she looked at Liam.*



~Mel

*Liiam didn't see mel at first because he was putting mark back to bed. When he had mark all situated, he turned around and grinned back* "See? Do you think they'd do that at mungos? no, they wouldn't." *He tossed himself back down on the couch, looking up at her and grinning*

*Melanie shook her head*
Melanie:"Of course not, it's too simple. They'd probably force him to drink about 8 potions and perform a few spells on him just because." *She sat down next to him.*"And that's all because they're show-offs like me."



~Mel

"I read that in a stephen king book before. Ever heard of him? He's a muggle writer. Pretty good."

Melanie:"Of course I've heard of him! I wasn't completely shunned from the muggle world! I went to a muggle primary school, after all. The best part about that was whenever they would read stories to us about magic. I would always laugh at what they thought it was and everyone would stare at me." *she smiled*"Halloween was horrible, though, especially when we were supposed to dress up for school and my teacher made us pick what we would be out of a hat...and I got a witch. Whenever I told my parents, my mum had an attack because she thought someone found out and my dad just laughed."

*She was ranting again. More importantly she was ranting about things that no one could ever really care about at all.*

*Liam smiled, half listening* "I always liked halloween. Free candy." *He said still smiling* "When charlie and I got out of the orphanage one year, we stole tin foil and toilet paper. He went as a mummy, I went as left over food." *He said, grinning* "Pretty stupid."
