Eruanna sat in the library, flipping furiously through a Transfiguration book. She was terrible at it, and was trying to do better.

"Arg!" She growled as the page sliced the tender flesh of her index finger.

Finn sat at the next table down, recopying his charms notes for better memorization. He snickered when he heard the girl say 'arg'. She sounded like a pirate to him. "Are you okay?" he asked, not wanting to seem like a jerk, he thought it was funny, but didn't want to be mean.

"Papercut." She muttered, silently cursing the paper of the book. The one book that wasn't parchment and she had to go and get a cut from it.

"Stupid Transfiguration."

Finn smiled on the inside. "Oh, Transifiguration... I finished my last term of that last year. It's a useless class if you ask me..."

"Exactly. Why do I need to change a horse into a house?" She said, brushing her blonde curls out of her face.

"Ask me to brew up an antidote to any poison at all, I can do it. Transfiguration? No. I'm sodding awful."

"Exactly, I don't see why that's important. We should spend more time learning more practical things." He said, "My name's Finn," He extended his hand for her to shake.

Eruanna eyed his hand for a moment before grasping it in her own smaller one.

"I'm Eruanna, but everyone calls me Era." She said, letting a brief smile flick across her face.

"Good to meet you Era." Finn said shutting his notebook, "Let me know if you need some help with that. I did get top marks in that class."

Eruanna sneered good naturedly.

"How could anyone care enough to pass this class?"

Finn smiled. "I care about my schooling." He said, "I work as hard as I can to get the best marks I can. Passing that class isn't hard, it just takes time to learn the materials and practice." He stood up, and started to leave.

"Finn." She said as he stood.

"Can you... can you help me out?" She was far too proud, normally, but God, she needed this grade.

She looked at him, her insides twisting. Merlin, she hated asking for help.

Finn smiled. "Yeah," he said, "I think I could help you out." He drew his wand. "There are two important things to remember about transfiguration one is the wand motion, and the other is enunciation. If you don't enunciate, and don't move your wand correctly, well, Instead of a matchbook from a mouse, you could end up with a moose!" He smiled, knowing that was a stupid thing to say. He had problems talking other girls since Faith did her dirty deed. That was what he liked the most about her is that she was easy to talk to. "Anyways, what are you working on now?"

She looked at her book, her finger sliding to the correct line. "I'm working on... Turtles to timepieces. She wants us to turn a turtle into a clock." She said, sighing. Why, oh Merlin, why did she need to learn this rubbish? She looked at him, a smile lighting her lips. "Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it."
