Delilah was sitting under a tree with one leg up, unaware that her skirt was slightly slid up. It didn't matter if her knickers were up, as she was pretty much sitting there all alone. She turned a page in her book before she really realized that she didn't give two s***s about Lemony Snicket. She closed the book and tossed it into the water.

Squall walked down towards the lake on a nice day.saw something flying through the air and instictively grabbed his wand and pointed it at the object, but then noticed it was just a book. he lowered his wand and looked for the "tosser" so to speak. he found her moments later and walked over, quickly noticing the skin she was showing, as well as other things on display. he decided however, this would not be a good topic starter

"i take it that book didn't have a decent ending to it" he asked

She giggled and looked up at the boy she'd never quite remembered seeing before. "Not really." She brushed her hair from her face. "I'm Delilah. You?" She didn't bother to get up, as the breeze that was coming by at that exact moment and closed her eyes so she could appreciate it.

"Squall Leonheart" he stated, watching her relax with the breeze, then he decided to mention something about the skirt, but in a way that wasn't vulgar

"you'd better watch out with this breeze when you're in that skirt you know? could be embarrassing."

She chuckled and did nothing to fix it. "So we haven't met yet...If we had you'd probably have known that most people have seen more than this." It was meant to come out as a joke, but sounded more than pained. She wasn't really a whore... People liked to call her that and make assumptions but that didn't change her as a person.

"i actually meant embarrassing for me, im not the sort of person who would stop and stare at that sort of thing, im too decent for that"

he chuckled and then stated "i truly wouldn't know where to look"

Delilah smiled and stood beside this new boy. "Hey you're actually kind of nice for a guy. Where's your lip candy, because I know there's no way you could possibly be single." It sounded flirtateous but she was generally curious. He was too nice for a guy...

"wrong actually" Squall informed her with a smile at the compliment "i'm single. admittedly, its not saying much, i just have seriously bad luck with relationships"

She sighed. "Me too... I mean the last person I was with was Vlad... And that was just because we were both beautiful and horrible... Now there's Tyrin and it's sort of the same thing... I just want for ONCE to be with someone that I actually like, and not because I'm keeping up appearences, you know what I mean?"

"still, i've had two people who appear to have disappeared off the face of the planet, one who cheated... and a guy, but you can't count that" Squall told her "so, not really sure which is worst, yours or mine"

"People seek me out intetntionally just for sex. They've made me think they like me and then once it's over, all I have to remember them is the stories I hear for weeks later...I've come to accept it but the only people who really seem sincere are the girls... And even then the only girl I really trust is my best friend Flame..."

"why bother accepting it?" Squall asked her, picking up a stone and facing the lake, tossing it so it skimmed across the shimmering waters "i mean, if you know the same thing will happen time and time again, why not make sure that the person is sincere?"

"I'm a Veela. And I don't know if you've noticed but not only are veela's prettier than most, they also have a sex drive that rival's three people and a vibrator." She sighed and tossed her own rock into the water, failing to skip it. She looked up at the guy. "That's what guys rely on. They don't want me for me... They want my veela sex.... And then there's the convenience boyfriends..."

"Veela eh?" Squall said, raising his eyebrows "that makes sense then, sorry i didn't notice."

"but still, i understand what you mean. but guys are just gonna keep coming aren't they? only you can stop them, as im sure you know, a lot of guys just go crazy for a veela"

"Girls go for it too..." She huffed and looked down. "I can't stop it because sometimes, before I know what's going on, I'm just so drunk with the...Well the whole veela urge that I don't even really notice. Well, unless of course I'm doing it on purpose to p**s someone of..." She sighed and looked up at the boy. "I bet you think I'm a bitch huh?"

"if you've got it, flaunt it" Squall said "i've got a whole history of things i've done wrong. trust me, using that sort of power to annoy someone doesn't compare to the things i've done"

She stood behind the boy so she was at her full 5'11" height. She leaned into him. "Oh I've done my share of stuff myself. And it's not just annoying people... I've had fiance's leave pregnant women because of me... I've even used my own twin for my personal benefit. I'm a horrible person..."

"i'm twice an inmate in azkaban" Squall stated boldly "so yeah, now does it compare?"

"You win," she said, blushing. She didn't mean to start a competition but if she had, she deffinately would have lost. She gently touched his hand and slid to stand before him. "I'm sorry. I know it must be hard... Especially with people like me acting like I have the biggest problems but I must sound rediculous..."

"it's fine" Squall told her, looking directly into her eyes and wrapping his hand around hers as she touched it. "i'm... i've changed since then. i used to have this strange fascination with power"

he decided since he'd started, he'd finish

"maybe you saw it sometime, it was all over the daily prophet. Squall Leonheart, secret accomplice to mass murderer Egbert Wittle." he put on a deep voice of a news reporter type person and quoted from a memorised daily prophet article. 'Squall himself has had numerous deaths under his belt, including the deaths of two hogwarts students...'

Her eyes grew suddenly very wide. "That was you?" she near whispered but leaned into him anyway. She lifted one hand to his face and tilted her head. "You don't seem like a monster to me," she whispered, remembering a different newspaper article she had read.

"I was" Squall admitted "i went into my father's footsteps, something which i didn't ever want to do. but in the end, i killed someone else. that was my last one."

"Kane Leonheart" he told her with a large sigh, placing his hand on hers once more "my own father"

She felt her eyes water. "I... I heard about that... I read about that.." She looked up at him and one tear fell. "You killed your father...? Why?" she asked, understanding if he didn't feel like sharing such private information with a girl he only just met.

"he killed my mother" Squall told her simply, then decided to expand a little, that was bad enough, but the rest was worse.

"right in front of me, 9 years ago (wow, its been 2 years since i joined lumos almost, i used to be saying 7 years), and since then he tortured me every day until i escaped to hogwarts. then i learnt powerful magic so i could get revenge, and i did. it was during the attack on the school months back, you know, 4 girls were crucified. one was my half sister, Emily"

Delilah wrapped her slender arms around him, pulling him close to her. "I am so sorry honey... I don't blame you! I would have..." But she didn't finish her sentance, knowing damned well she wouldn't be able to kill anyone. Gently, she kissed his cheek, hugging him again.

Squall instantly felt better, which was a challenge because he didn't really feel bad at all beforehand. but there was definitely something that the kiss did to him (ahem, no dirty thoughts anyone reading this). he gently wrapped his arms around her and said "whats done is done, i just have to make sure nothing happens again. im not going back to azkaban"

She rested her forehead against him and nodded in agreement. "No no... Azkaban is bad.." and even as she spoke it, all she could think of was how badly she wanted to kiss him... To really kiss him... But she didn't. She may have been considered the Hogwarts revolving door, she still knew when something was grossly inapropriate...

"I'm sure there's a great person in there..." She lifted her eyes from his lips and to his own eyes, their foreheads still touching.

Squall laughed when she said Azkaban was bad, and replied "you have no idea how bad it is... its like, i dunno, i couldn't think of anything other than what i did. those two kids i killed had done nothing to me, one was even my friend. i just sat and brooded on it. i thought i was going to be stuck in that memory until it consumed and killed me. fortunately, it didn't."

he smiled at her, gently bring his hand and running it through her hair. something about her was so attracting, and it wasn't the veela aspect either. he could sense something, rather than feel it.

She leaned her head into his hand, gently kissing the area just below his wrist as it passed her lips.

"I'm so sorry honey... People change and I'm sure your rage has subsided and if it hasn't... I'm sure you learned from your mistakes. And if it wasn't the mistakes that taught you I bet Azkaban did the trick." She smiled lightly.

Squall sighed "like i said, i've changed" he certainly had, whether it was for the better, he wasn't entirely sure. he knew for one thing, he was going to appreciate things a lot more, but it was all he knew for certain. the other certainty was he was going to die, and probably sooner rather than later. but he decided this was not the time. he wasn't going to become a sympathy case.

She smiled and looked his face over again. "I'm glad you have. Some people have a hard time even admiting that they did something in the first place but you...You're different." She took a deep breath. He must not find her attractive... She could handle that but the idea of not having any clue irked her... She'd never liked someone, craved someone that wasn't beneficial for her and this wasn't. She just... Wanted to kiss him.

"im not the only one who's different though" Squall said with a smile "can't say i've met many girls who's actually cared"

She smiled lightly. "I'm surprized with myself actually... I'm the type of girl that usually doesn't give two s***s about anybody but myself but you..." She touched his cheek softly. "I actually care about your well being. Kind of funny isn't it?" She bit her lower lip in a giggle and looked at him with a tilted head.

"wow, i must have made an impression" Squall said flirtatiously, along with a wide smile and a wink. "everything's going according to plan then" he added with a laugh.

She raised an eyebrow and tilted her head to the other side. "What plan is this exactly?" She brushed a few strands of hair from her eyes and gently released herself from his hold as she realized that she was being overly flirtateous when it really wasn't the time.

"I'm sorry Squall...It must seem like I'm all over you but I-"

Squall cut her off (which is kinda forced from your post, but i wanted to anyway) by pressing a finger to her lips and softly making a "shush" ing sound. he slowly ran his finger around her cheek and rested his hand against the side of her face, and leant in to plant a soft kiss on her lips. the kiss lasted only a few seconds, but as Squall pulled away, he had a wide smile on his face.

She stood up on her tiptoes to catch his lips as they went away from her and whimpered in frusteration when she realized the kiss was over. She looked up at him with her wide, dark brown eyes. "Wow I.. I mean I..." She was shocked to actually be made speachless by a kiss but she really was.

Squall smiled even wider at this and licked his teeth, a strange habit he had when he was happy or laughing. in a way, it look flirtatious in the circumstances he was in at the moment.

"i'm sorry" he whispered

"Don't be..." Then she shook her head as though to physically snap herself out of it. "Hey wait, that was cheating! I wasn't ready!" She took his face into her hands and pulled him down, pressing his lips into her own. She leaned her body into his and wrapped her arms around his neck in a protective manner, as though she believed he couldn't get away from her this way.

Squall laughed and had to fight to pull himself away from her. laughing whilst kissing was hardly the most romantic thing for him to be doing. he finally managed to pull away and started laughing. when he'd finished, he said "that's exactly why im sorry, you're hooked on Squall now. you want more"

he gave another sly wink.
