Tynan walked along the edge of the lake, his eyes resting dreamily on it's smooth surface. He'd been away for a long time and seen things in waters that no wizard had ever seen, yet the lake was still amazing. He stopped suddenly and went closer to the water. He lay on his stomach and put a hand in the water. It was cold but he didn't mind. Tynan splashed his hands in a distinct rhythm then stood. As he stood up he shaded his eyes with his hands, watching for the telltale ripple on the water.

Adeyla was already in the water, pretty far out, patting the squid's large head. She had become friends with it when Tynan had been around before, and even after he left she came to visit it once and a while. Before she would only wear one pieces but now she felt comfortable enough to wear bikinis. It also helped that she had grown up and now had the body to pull it off in...

She slid onto the squid, who began to rush quickly in a direction where she didn't know where he was going.

Tynan suddenly saw a large shake rushing through the water. He smiled and stepped in, mindless of the fact that he was wearing his clothes. When the water reached his knees Tynan stopped and waited. The squid glided in, it's tentacles churning the water around him.

"Hey buddy, how've you..." He trailed off, looking up to see Adeyla, in a bikini no less, riding on the squid's huge head. Tynan smiled at her, unsure of what to say.

"You look good." He said, without thinking about it. The squid, seeming determined to help the situation reached back and plucked Adeyla off his head, depositing her in the water with Tynan.

Adeyla wriggled around as the squid lifted her and set her down in the water. She huffed and raised an eyebrow, though she wasn't uncomfortable in her near-nude state. She'd grown a lot of self-confidence. "I know," she said, still angry. Her manners wouldn't allow her to stop where she wanted to however, so she finished with, "Thank you."

"I see you got to know each other better." Tynan said, motioning to the squid and nodding at it. The squid, Tynan knew, was trying to help him out, it's huge brain somehow knowing that Adeyla was still mad at Tynan. It hesitated for a moment then propelled it's self back into the lake, waiting far enough away so as not to disturb them.

Tynan didn't speak, not knowing what to say to her, he simply looked at her, locking eyes with her. He opened his mouth to speak a few times but couldn't bring himself to.

"That squid was very nice to me after you left me... He isn't too fond of tears I'm afraid which I find ironic since he lives in salt water but oh well." Adeyla reached down and softly tugged at her belly button ring, which she had gotten done only just recently. "I visit him every day, and he really appreciates it."

Tynan noticed the ring in her belly button as she tugged it. He didn't remember it at all and it just showed him how much she'd changed. Realizing he was staring he snapped his eyes back to her face.

"I hope he never has to worry about tears again." Tynan said, "I'm glad you visited him, he would've gotten lonely otherwise." He smiled and moved a little closer to Adeyla. "I know you must've been lonely too." He said with a sad look.

Adeyla crossed her short arms and looked up at him, as she really hadn't grown any since he left. She was still 4'11". "After a while I got over it. He was pretty upset with you though so I'm surprized he's even come near you at all." She was trying not to show how hurt she really was and although all she really wanted was to pounce on him and kiss him until his face was bruised, she knew she couldn't.

When she said she'd gotten over it Tynan looked a little sad. "He knows I'm still his friend." He replied, not looking at the squid as he spoke and obviously talking about her at the same time, "Squid tend to forgive and forget." He added, just for good measure.

"Yeah, too bad humans aren't like that huh?" she said with a tinge of anger in her voice. She hated being so mean to someone she loved so much but he could never possibly understand how much he had hurt her by leaving without even telling her where he was going.

Tynan nodded, "Yeah, it is to bad." He said, his face looking sadder than ever. "I think sometimes they can though." He gave her a little smile, hoping to get back on her good side. He moved closer to her, and put his arms around her, drawing her close, hoping against hope that she wouldn't push him away.

Adeyla didn't move. She couldn't move. She had so many feelings rushing through her that she didn't know which one to go with! She hated him for leaving her. She loved him because she always had, and he was the best thing to ever happen to her. She was upset that she had to be so mad at him and angry with herself for allowing all of this to happen. Before she knew what she was doing, she was on her tiptoes, clutching his face between both hands. She pressed her lips into his with such a force that she felt a whimper escape her mouth from the pain.

Tynan stumbled back a step when she kissed him, but he kissed her back just as hard. For months he's been without and now everything he'd ever felt for her came rushing back with the single kiss. He lifted her small frame in his hands, and pulled her back to shore leaving the squid to swim away. After a moment her put her down. "Does this mean you're not mad?" He asked, smiling hopefully at her.

She shook her head, her eyes still twinkling with a mixture of fury and love. "I still hate you Tynan...But I can never stop loving you. You really did wrong by me and eventually I'm sure you can make it up to me but for right now, I still hate you." Even as she spoke she couldn't push past the urge to throw him to the ground and kiss him. After she finished speaking, she found herself in his arms once again, digging her hands into his hair and kissing him.

Before she had left she was so bashful that she could only even remember them kissing once, at the christmas ball because there was mistletoe, and even then she was embarassed to do so.

Tynan stumbled back as she renewed kissing him. He was confused, but happily so, she hated him and yet she kissed him, not that Tynan minded. He kissed her back then held her gently away from him. "You're really changed." He said, realizing she had never kissed him like this. Before he had left they'd been a bashful couple and now... He kissed her again, his hands moving up and down her back. He broke the kiss again, smiling, unable to resist speaking, "Maybe you should be mad at me more often."

Adeyla rolled her eyes. "That isn't funny you know," she said and gave a light half-smile. "Besides...I grew up when you were gone," she said, not wanting to reveal that she had been with others while he was away and that had to do with the fact that she wasn't so nervous kissing him anymore.

Tynan noticed her smile and nodded. "I know it's not." He stepped back and looked at her, realizing that her shape had changed significantly since he last saw her. "You really have grown up." He said, smiling, knowing nothing else to say. "I still love you, you know." He added suddenly, not even thinking.

Almost as though she was snapping out of something, Adeyla looked up at him. "Then you shouldn't have left me without warning Tynan. I'm not mad you left, believe me I can handle that you had a life outside me. I'm mad because not only did you not say goodbye, but you also never even wrote me once." She took a step back and looked at him. "You killed me Tynan..."

"And you're killing me now." He replied, his voice flat and distant. "Please, don't be so mad." He looked down at her, his eyes searching her face for any emotion besides her anger at him. "I can't give you anything but the promise that I'll not do it again." He shrugged, he was telling the truth, he couldn't do anything else.

Adeyla shook her head. "That's not enough." But there was sadness in her eyes and all she wanted was to be wrapped up in his arms. She hardly noticed she was so scantily clad. "I love you Tynan and I always will, but you have to earn my trust back. I went on your word the first time, but I can't again."

"I'll do what ever it takes to earn back your trust." Tynan said, stepping close to her again, but not so close that they were touching. "I love you more than anything and you know that, please tell me what it is I can do." He kept his eyes locked on hers, smiling a little now that they were getting somewhere.

"Time is the only thing that can solve this Tynan. There's no magic word you can say or something equally rediculous that will make all of this better. And in the meantime, I can't be with someone I don't trust. I won't be anyone elses girlfriend but for right now..I can't be with you yet either."

Tynan looked ever more sad as she spoke and when she was done he nodded understandingly. "Alright then... But..." He was confused. Tynan knew she wanted him back, but she didn't at the same time. "We... We'll be friends then?" He asked, feeling awkward even as he spoke. With a step back Tynan put a decent amount of space between them, a friendly amount.

"I still love you Tynan, more than anything. I just need time to learn to trust you again. Build that trust up and there is no doubt in my mind that we will get back together." She took a step forward and wrapped her arms around his neck. "God I missed you..."

Tynan put his arms around her waist and lifted her effortlessly, spinning her around in his joy when she said they could get back together. He resolved to do all her could to regain her trust. "I missed you too." He said, smiling down at her as he set her back on the ground. "I thought about you every day. It was quite distracting sometimes." He grinned, feeling happier than he'd felt in a long time.

She shook her head, finding herself to be crying harder than she had even in the whole time he was gone. "Tynan I swear if you ever to that to me again I'll find you, and I'll kill you. I really will. They'll never be able to recognize you, your body will be so mutilated." She pressed feverish kisses all across his face before settling on his lips again. "I missed you so much Tynan... I cried nearly every night before I went to bed."

Tynan kissed her back, just as passionately. He held her close to him and whispered into her ear. "You'll never have to cry for me again, I promise." He said, kissing her lips tenderly. "From now on I'll never go away again, not unless you're with me." His voice was husky and low as he spoke, but absolutely sincere.

Adeyla nodded. She realized suddenly that before he left, neither of them had said the L word yet...and now they had a bunch of times like it was nothing. She took his face in her hands and took a deep breath before whispering, "I love you so much Tynan... you have no idea how much I love you."
