YAY and Finn is on now too so he can't cry lol.
A man walks up to you and says - "everything I say to you is a lie."
Is he telling you the truth or is he lying? And explain why in detail.
He is lying.
If you assume that he is telling the truth, the statement, "Everything I say to you is a lie," would be true. But, the statement indicates that he is telling a lie. So, he is being truthful about lying.
If you assume that he's lying the statement, "Everything I say to you is a lie," is a lie. This is a better answer because it isn't a paradox. If this statement is a lie, it can be interpreted to mean some of what I tell you is a lie.
That's why he is lying.
Confusing to say the least. But Finn is right. The man is lying.
Why I hear you ask? - Basically what Finn said.
If the man was telling the truth then the statement is in fact a lie. He would be contradicting himself. He is lying because everything he "says" (in the present tense) is infact the truth, thus the statement is a lie.
Hard to explain, Finn almost lost me, I think my version is poor. I hope Chi Chi can explain this more clearly.
((Riddle of the day is a great game by the way))
Finn is the winner! And here is why:
He said that EVERYTHING he says is a lie, and yet when he is saying is the truth. What he SHOULD have said is "Sometimes I lie" :)
