The night was cold and wet. It had stopped raining a hour or so ago. The air was clean and fresh. The clouds were departing from the sky. The moon shone down in a pearly fashion. Cassandra sat on the damp stone floor of the Astronomy Tower. She wasn't going to let herself cry no matter how hard she wanted to.

'How could he? How could he do this to me?' she thought to herself. They had only been going out a few weeks, but it felt like much longer. She had known this was coming. How could it not? The only name resounding in her head was 'David'. It bounced around in her mind like a tennis ball. If only she hadn't messed things up.

It had been his birthday, and she wanted to do something nice for him. She fixed him a dinner that was suppose to be great. She had brought him to meet her parents. Her parents who were a little harsh, to say the least. Had no treated him very well. Saying that he was not fit to be with "Their little girl"

He had ended up breaking it off. Saying she was to much to handle. Which is why she now sat on top of the astronomy tower. Wet and sad. She wouldn't let her emotions get the better of her though. She wouldn't cry. She told herself this over and over again. Until finally it was to much... so she let one tear trickle down her face.

She felt ashamed with herself. For first having him come to meet her parents. Then with letting her emotions get the better of her. She glared down at her feet. Not wanting to be happy. She didn't deserve to be happy.
