Ok, so Tyrin fears anything more powerful than him, but mostly what many other fears - he loaths. Werewolves, centaurs, dementors, vampires etc... and anything with the power to harm him he despises and hates.

Its sort of like racism... beastism perhaps? He is actively looking to destroy these near human intelligence groups. He also has other policies such as "Animagi are evil, Wizards should not have the power, by Merlin to transform into animals." AGain this is because of his own insecurity.

There will be other radical philosophys but anyway he is starting a cult/gang to excorsise his whims.

Mel can try (like she always does) to knock sense into him about werewolves and such to the point that he thinks that she's one herself, but it's really just because her best friend is a werewolf and her mum worked for the department of regulation and control of blah blah blah creatures.
