*Melanie had used floo powder to get to St.Mungo's, but had barely managed it. As soon as she got to her destination, she pretty much collapsed onto the floor. Becky, who had arrived there only a little bit before her sister, ran towards her.*

Becky:"Mel!" *she exclaimed*"It's okay. We're going to get people to help make you feel all better."



~Mel

*Kiley stepped out of the fire seconds after mel. She saw that she had collapsed and rushed to summon some healers. They came immediatly and whipped out their wands, lifting mel up into the air and rushing her off to a room. Kiley grabbed Becky's hand and dragged her off after them at a jog. They took her into a room and set her on a bed and immediatly started running tests and such. Kiley stood in the far corner, watching, holding onto becky.*

*This is what Melanie hated about the hospital. Being pretty much suffocated by a hoard of healers. The continued looking over her for a bit before one of the healers walked over to Kiley.*

Healer Guy:"I'm going to have to ask you a few questions about her, because no one spontaneously gets as sick as she is."



~Mel

*Kiley nodded* "Um....ok.....That's fine..." *Kiley looked back over at Mel before walking out into the hall, still holding Becky's hand, afraid to let go. She waited for the healer to join them so he could ask her his questions. She was worried and still pale but she tried to keep calm so becky wouldn't get scared*

Healer:"To start off...we need her name. A few of the other healers recognize her, but they don't know who she is. Along with that, does she have any medical problems that might have caused this?"*he inquired*




~Mel

"Melanie Hunter. She's 16, I tihnk. She has HIV. I dunno if that's why she's sick. She's ben depressed lately and she hasn't been eating or drinking or sleeping much. I was going to bring her in later, but then she started to get sick." *Kiley spoke in a hushed hospital voice, trying to think of anything else he needed to know* "I don't think she's allergic to anything....She's been staying at my appartment with me and her sister....Becky...I take care of her so she lives with me..."

*The healer didn't even need to think about what Kiley had said before he knew what the problem was*
Healer Guy:"Right, well since she wasn't eating her body wasn't getting what it needed to stay healthy and...well...I'm sure you understand. Why weren't you forcing her to eat since she's not only very sick she looks like she's lost a lot of weight in a short time."



~Mel

"Well, I was trying to." *She said, her teeth gritted* "Do you think that I should have tied her down and pried her mouth open? I'm sure that would have really helped her feel much better. Yeah. Thanks. I never would have thought of trying to force her. Why do you think I had her staying in my house?" *She snapped. Kiley didn't like being told she was doing a bad job at taking care of her friend like simner had done*

*The healer understood that anything else he would say would just make Kiley even angrier, so he gave up and walked back into the room. The other healers had stopped messing with Mel, but one was still by her bedside looking very impatient. It was obvious that Mel was forcing her to wait for something: The healer was trying to give her a sleeping potion, and Melanie wouldn't let her until she was sure that Kiley would get Mark and Liam.*


~Mel

"Wait, come back....there's something else....I need you to contact someone for Mel......He really should be under her emergancy contacts...." *She walked over and snatched Mel's chart from a suprised looking healer. Kiley began to flip through it untill she found mel's list of contacts.* "There. See? Liam Harrison. He needs to be contacted now and he needs to get his ass in gear and bring Melanie's baby. SO please send him am owl. Now? Thank you." *She shoved the chart back to the healer who obediantly went out of the room to get away from Kiley. When she was gone, Kiley collapsed into the chair* "Liam'll be here when you wake up. So go to sleep."

*Melanie nodded and the healer took that to mean that she was free to do her job, so she shoved the potion down Melanie's throat and left. It took the potion a few seconds to kick in, but when it did, Melanie fell sound asleep.

Becky looked at Melanie curiously*

Becky:"Ki-Ki...what's HIV?" *she asked*"And why does Mel-Mel have it?"


*Of course Becky didn't know that and answer would be tough, or that the question was, to some parents, like asking how babies were made.*



~Mel

*Kiley took a deep breath. She sat down and pulled Becky onto her lap. Kiley debated lying, not sure if Mel would want Becky to know the truth, beut decided it would be better if Becky knew the truth* "It's a disease that Mel has...it makes it easier for her to get sick, and it's contageous....but you won't get it....you can't get it from hugging or kissing or being in the same room as them." *She didn't know what else to say, so she waited for becky's questions*

Becky:"Oh." *she said sadly. Mel was sick and that was all she needed to know to be upset.*"When will she get better? Are they going to make her better now?" *then something dawned on her*"Is that why she's so sick right now?"



~Mel

"I don't know why she's sick right now....I think it's a combination of her not eating and her HIV......." *She said quietly, more to herself then becky. Kiley sighed and looked down at her* "They don't have a cure that will stop HIV compleaatly.....but there are ways to slow it down....different medications and such"

Becky:"Oh." *she repeated, more depressed than before*"What do you mean slow it down? I thought it only made her get sicker faster." *she was absolutely confused now. The idea that it wasn't as simple as it had seemed seconds ago completely overwhelmed her.*



~Mel

*Kiley sighed* "That's one of the things that it does...but....it's not what it really is..." *She tried to explain, glancing over at mel as if she was supposed to chime in for her and explain it the right way.* "I think Mel should explain it to you...in the mean time, why don't you rest a little, ok becky? everything's gonna be ok."

*Melanie would've chimed in, but she was asleep because of the potion that the healer gave her. Becky, on the other hand, was very confused and a bit upset. Why wouldn't Kiley just tell her?*

Becky:"I'm not tired." *she replied in a bratty tone.*"I'm hungry. You didn't give me time to eat breakfast."



~Mel

"Oh....right...I'm sorry, I forgot....I'll be right back." *Kiley got up and walked out of the room to go find something for them to eat.*


*Liam came into the room then and paused in the door way and looked in at Mel. After a short pause he came in hesitantly but didn't say anything because he's just missed kiley and didn't see becky there*

*Becky instantly got out of her brat mood because she thought she might be able to weasel information out of Liam*

Becky:"LIAM!" *she exclaimed, not knowing that he hadn't noticed her.*"What's HIV because Kiley told me but she kept changing it! I'm her sister!" *she said angrily, pointing at Melanie*"I should know what's wrong with her!"




~Mel

*Liam jumped when Becky screamed his name. He looked down at her, trying to understand her question. A healer walked by and shot liam a dirty look. It was pouring outside and liam was dripping all over the floor* "Uh....it's a disease...." *He said, pulling off his coat and setting it down on a chair with his helmet*

Becky:"I KNOW that!" *she told him, again starting to get irritated.*"But why can't they fix it and what does it slow down, and why won't anybody answer meeee." *she walked to the nearest chair and sighed very dramatically as she sat down*

"There isn't a cure." *He said, walking over to mel's bed and being distracted with making sure that she was all covered up and stuff* "But they can make it better for a little with some medicine that mel takes." *Liam sighed and looked at becky* "Is Kiley here too?"

*Becky was giving up on asking people this completely. She would either ask Mel or Alex later. Ian would probably say 'Go ask Mel', Kiley and Liam were both telling her the same things over and over, but Mel and Alex would probably tell her anything she wanted to know. Mel, because she was just that kind of person, Alex, because he could be stupidly tricked into it.*

Becky:"Yup! She went to get me something to eat, because Mel got really sick before I even woke up and I didn't get to eat breakfast. I think Kiley should be getting food for Mel, though. She hasn't been eating a lot lately and she must be awfully hungry."
