Title: whats to eat?
Description: Anyone
Adriana Falchetti - July 29, 2007 01:49 PM (GMT)
Adriana tickled the pear and the portrait opened. She walked the little ways through to the kitchens. A bowl of fruit sat on the table. Grabbing an apple and taking a bite she looked around.
"They must be cleaning or something."
She said out loud hopping up on a chair and swinging her legs back and forth. Usually she was met with house elves crowding around her asking her if she wanted something or forcing a big plate of food and drink in her hand. She sighed blowing a strand of hair away from her face and looking once again around the room.
Fawne Sugarmoon - July 29, 2007 07:31 PM (GMT)
OOC: Hope you don't mind me replying ^.^
Fawne smiled wistfully as she tickled the pear to gain entrance into the kitchen. She could always imgine its laughter, it must be fun to be the pear. Unless you didnt like being tickled. She giggled dreamily at her own thoughts before finally walking into the kitchen. Her silver eyes scanned the room once and only really noticed that the elves were else where. She failed to notice the girl sat on the counter even though she was the only other living thing in the room.
An absent-minded smile was set on he features as she walked over to the stores, her Thestral pendant bouncing as she moved. She pulled a plain bright yellow plastic bag from the pocket of her plaited school skirt before opening the stores and stuffing raw meat into the bag; she needed something to feed the school Thestrals of course.
She turned on her heel and absently shut the door behind her with a bloody hand from the meat, her eyes scanned the room once more before she finally realised that there was someone else in the room. She titled her head to the side slightly as she spoke in her normal soft voice.
"Oh Hello."
Adriana Falchetti - July 29, 2007 07:48 PM (GMT)
Adriana saw the girl enter the kitchen and walk to the storage cubboards. From the look on her face Adriana thought either she was day dreaming of a wonderful place. She wished she could read minds so she could tell what the girl was thinking.she absent mindedly reached down and scratched an itch on her ankles as she contined to watch the girl pull raw meat from the storage. She made a face and became even more courious as to what the girl was going to do with the meat. Finally the girl turned and noticed her. Adrianas gaze caught the pendant hanging from the girls neck as she said hello. She put her apple down and raised her hand in a wave.
"lo."
She said softly.
"what are you doing with that raw meat?"
she asked full of couriosty as she pointed to the bag the girl held.
Fawne Sugarmoon - July 29, 2007 08:04 PM (GMT)
"Feeding the Thestrals it, of course."
She smiled as her silver grey eyes glittered and she continued to tilt her head to the side as she spoke, much like a bird did. She still had the bright yellow bag of meat clutched in one hand and she suddenly seemed to realise that her other hand was bloody. She dropped the bag on the counter and quickly washed her hands in the nearby sink drying them on her skirt. She seemed to pause to think before grabbing the bag and heading towards the girl.
She jumped up onto the same counter as her newly acquired companion and extended a fair hand in greeting, the quirky smile still set on her lips.
"I'm Fawne Sugarmoon."
Adriana Falchetti - July 29, 2007 08:13 PM (GMT)
Adriana knew all about thestrals. She loved learning about creatures especially magical ones. She watched as Fawne realised her hand was all bloody and washed it then sat down next to her. Adriana took her hand with a big brite smile andshook it a bit to enthusiastically.
"I'm Adriana Falchetti."
She knew from the start she would like Fawne. She gently poked the bag after releasing her hand and asked.
"Doi you always feed the thestrals?"
She had always wanted to see one, but knew the only way to do so would be to see someone die. She silently wondered wandered if Fawne saw someone pass away.
Fawne Sugarmoon - July 29, 2007 08:21 PM (GMT)
She continued to smile at Adriana, she was one of the few people who hadn't laughed at her obsession with Thestrals. Hopefully they could be friends. She had liked Thestrals even before her Father had died, but now she could see them she was even more fascinated with them. She titled her head to the side agian in habit, it was almost as if the process helped her concentrate.
"Oh yes, ever since I've been able to see them. Thestrals are ever so pretty."
Although Thestrals looked as if the flesh was hung on there skeletal frames Fawne thought they were pretty. That seemed to sum up her personality. She didnt even seemed bothered about revealing the fact she had seen someone die. Her father had been a great man and she chose to treasure him rather than mourn him. She continued to smile dreamily and her grey eyes seemed to mist over for a few seconds as she thought before flashing back to normal.
"You could feed them too, if you like."
Adriana Falchetti - July 29, 2007 08:31 PM (GMT)
Adriana watched as the girl spoke and tilted her head. Fawne had that likeable X-factor that she looked for in friends. As Fawne told her she could feed them to her face lit up and she nodded. Then shook her head.
"But i can't see them......."
Adriana was always afraid of things that were invisible. If she was in a room alone she would imagine something was there. Reaching it ghostly hand out to snatch the life away. She would be so scared out ofher mind of something that really wasn't there but she had imagined was there that she couldn't sleep for weeks. Just imagine not being able to see something that really was there but invisible.
"Would you be able to point where they are?"
She had wanted to ask about how Fawne came to see the winged horses but thought it would be tactful. She would ask later when they knew each other better.
Fawne Sugarmoon - July 29, 2007 08:44 PM (GMT)
Fawne hadn't even thought to enquire if Adriana could see the Thestrals, it didnt seem like a nice question to ask. She had already given the title of friend to Adriana, they seemed to get on well already, and it was a huge plus factor that she wanted to feed the Thestrals too. She just continued to smile and nodded in response to her question about pointing them out. She pulled the back in front of her eyes and tied a knot carefully in its top before dropping it back onto the side.
"It doesn't matter that you can't see them, i can show you them, they'll let you feed them anyway. The ones in the wizarding forest near home let me feed them even when i could not see them."
Her curious mind seemed to fill with random questions to ask her new friend, but she paused as if to allow Adriana to chance to continue the conversation. After all Fawne had always been polietly spoken.
Adriana Falchetti - July 29, 2007 11:01 PM (GMT)
Adriana smiled and picked up her apple that she had forgotten when Fawne came around.
"I would definatley love to feed them...."
She said and then took a bite of apple.
"Are you going now? i'll come with."
She said in a rushed voice hoping she wasn't being to forward. She looked at Fawne and hoped the girl didn't think her too wierd. If fawne said yes it would open up a chance for them to talk more. She way dying to ask about the thestral pendant she wore.
Fawne Sugarmoon - July 30, 2007 11:04 AM (GMT)
She slid carefully off the counter top before walking over to a fruit bowl; after seeing the apple Adriana was eating she wanted one too. She was a little hungry and she had always loved fruit. She reached into the bowl and plucked an orange at random. Rather than exchange the orange for an apple, fate was fate, she began to pluck at its skin with her fingernails being too occupied to grab her wand to peel the orange. When the orange was finally peeled she disposed of the skin and walked back over to the counter top, jumping back up onto its surface and swinging her legs as she ate segments of orange.
"I usually feed them at dinner time but we could go now, if you like."
She smiled at her new friend, there was hardly a time when Fawne didn't smile in some way. She didnt think Adriana weird at all she was infact rather happy she was so eager to feed the Thestrals. It was nice to share an interest. She titled her head to the side once more before speaking agian.
"Oh, so that is a Yes then."
Adriana Falchetti - July 30, 2007 11:34 PM (GMT)
Adriana saw Fawne had pulled a nice juicy orange from the fruit bowl. She licked her lips and looked at her quarter eaten apple. Setting her apple down on the counter she took her wand and muttered the words to slice it in half. Picking up the half uneaten apple she offered Fawne some.
"Yes."
She smiled excitedly.
"It is then. We can go aroiund dinner time though. I'll trade you half my apple for half of your orange?"
She had never shared food with anyone before but the orange looked so juicy.
Fawne Sugarmoon - July 31, 2007 09:19 PM (GMT)
Without even blinking her grey eyes she reached a graceful hand into her skirt and seemingly produced her wand from a pocket far too small to hold it. The perks of being a 5th year meant you knew a few space saving charms, that and she was from a magical background. The wand itself had a core of Thestral hair and a wood of willow, it was not made by Ollivander who only used three cores. There was a piece of red ribbon wrapped around its handle in decorative manor. Obviously Fawne had added this.
Her left hand now griped the orange and her right flicked her wand lazy, not pointed at the orange but it still split in half. She could have easily tore the orange in half by and but as usual she always did things the weird way; like peeling the orange by hand. Placing her wand carefully across her lap, like it was a precious artifact, she took half of the newly sliced orange in her right hand and held it out toward Adiana. Obviously Fawne had no qualms about sharing food.
"I always did like fruit."
She titled her head slightly less this time, it was blatantly obvious this was another natural quirk. A placid smile crossed her features as she waited for the girl to take the fruit. She turned her head around the room, her brown hair falling across her shoulders as she did so. Her last section of speech seemed random and there was no pause but she was referring to when they would feed the Thestrals.
"I wonder were the elves are, such delightful creatures. Would you prefer to attend dinner or skip?"
Adriana Falchetti - July 31, 2007 10:25 PM (GMT)
Adriana took the orange and then handed Fawne the apple.
"It doesn't matter to me. I don't really have that many friends at my table. We could pick up some sandwiches or a snack and eat with the thestrals...... like a picnic."
She offered then took a slice of orange and popped it in her mouth.
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 1, 2007 09:25 PM (GMT)
Fawne didnt particularly have any friends at her own table either. She might be a Gryffindor in house, and occasionally spirit when she pushed out of her comfort zone, but she was a little to quirky sometimes and had alienated quiet a few of her own house members. A frown marred her features for a short while at this thought before the placid smile whipped itself back into place as she nodded her head in answer.
"I think the Thestrals will like the company. We should make food to take now?"
Fawne looked around the kitchen hoping she wouldnt have to do too much by hand if they choose to make their own lunch. She wasn't very good at Muggle cooking.
Adriana Falchetti - August 1, 2007 10:23 PM (GMT)
She laughed. She already knew the in workings of Fanes mind.
"We could come back when the house elves are here. I know they would be more than delighted to fix something for us."
She leaned back on one arm and looked around the room.
"It does seem like they would know where everything is."
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 2, 2007 06:06 PM (GMT)
She giggled lightly, it was a dreamy giggle that seemed to match her eyes and outward persona. She nodded her head before returning it to its slightly titled position she used in conversation.
"This once again brings to light the lack of delightful little creatures"
She glanced at her wand, which was now sat on her lap before carefully placing it back inside the skirts magically expanded pocket. She too then leaned back on her arms and started momentarilly at the ceiling before glancing around the room.
"I wonder how long it will be before they return. Perhaps we should think of something to do to pass the time?"
Adriana Falchetti - August 2, 2007 11:09 PM (GMT)
Fawnes dreamy giggle caused Adriana to giggle.
"Well we could play 20 questions......"
She said wondering if Fawne knew the game.
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 3, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
Fawne was still smiling as she nodded her head before turning her eyes back to stare at the ceiling, almost as if she could see the great hall above.
"That sounds grand."
Still continuing to stare at the ceiling she seemingly wracked her brains for the rules of the game. She had heard of it but she couldn't really remember it.
"Perhaps you should start."
Adriana Falchetti - August 3, 2007 08:08 PM (GMT)
“Ok then”
Adriana said laying back and placing her hands under her head. Thinking of some questions she figured she would start out easy then get to the harder more secretive ones later.
“Where were you born?”
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 3, 2007 08:38 PM (GMT)
Fawne paused briefly before answering in a rather detached yet still vaguely melodic voice.
"The Sugarmoon Residence, third floor, last room on the left, mum's bedroom."
It seemed she went into more detail then just the city. Her house was obviously set in a wizarding burrow from the way she spoke of its size. She was still leaning back on her arms staring up at the ceiling. Her voice had lost its detached tone when she posed her question.
"Have you any siblings?"
Adriana Falchetti - August 3, 2007 08:53 PM (GMT)
Adrianas legs swung back and forth to their own rhythm. She loved listening to Fawne. She came up with the most interesting ways to answer things.
"a half brother who's a toady."
She managed to aqueak out before giggling. Her brother did resemble a big toad.
"ummmmm your favorite ice cream?"
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 3, 2007 09:20 PM (GMT)
"Perhaps your brother dwells in a pond?"
It seemed like a perfectly innocent question but Fawne's soft voice held a tint of amusement though not malice. It was clear she was just continuing the friendly banter. She didnt even blink before answering the question Adriana set her, Fawne seemed to blink less than other people anyway.
"Lime."
She smiled down at her newest friend, Adriana, the Hufflepuff girl was perhaps the only person Fawne had manged to hold a long conversation with. Most people just couldn't understand her and she was incredible glad Adriana could. Although posed as a statement her next speech was her question.
"It is imperative to know if your friend has an owl."
Adriana Falchetti - August 3, 2007 09:25 PM (GMT)
She burst out laughing when Fawne suggested her brother lived in a pond. She laughed so hard her sides hurt. Finally getting the spurts of giggles under control she heard Fawne answer. Lime was a delicious flavor but hers was rasberry sherbert. Nearly missing Fawnes next question it took her a minute to comprehend.
"Oh...OH! no i wish i had one."
She loved the creatures.
"Do you have and brothers or sisters?"
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 6, 2007 07:58 PM (GMT)
Fawne looked down at her new friend and blinked once before shaking her head quiet slowly and returning her silvery gaze to the ceiling.
"I'm Mummy's only child."
She continued to smile to herself in a ethereal way before she moved her arms quickly and dropped back onto the counter so she was also laying down and staring at the ceiling. Many questions ran through her head from 'What do you think of the family' to 'what colour would you say works well with owl feathers.' She settled on a slightly more normal one.
"What is your favorite treat?"
Adriana Falchetti - August 6, 2007 09:11 PM (GMT)
Adriana did the same as Fawne and looked up at the ceiling.
"I have ever so many.....it's my fetish you know...candy. i love everything from pumpkin pasties......to liquorish wands i just can't help my self."
she gushed turning red.
she closed her eyes and thought for a moment.
"Have you ever been kissed? i mean the heart stopping, foot popping kiss?"
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 7, 2007 01:00 PM (GMT)
Fawne smiled when Adriana said Candy was her fetish. Everyone had a fetish only some people refused to admit them. She blinked very slowly at the next question before delicatly sighing.
"I wouldn't say it was heart stopping."
She pondered whether she should elaborate but Fawne was well known for her random answers so she did not. She smiled at her new friend and settle on repeating her question.
"And what about yourself?"
Adriana Falchetti - August 7, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
Adriana felt a bit of reilef at not being the only one who hasn't been kissed like that.
"I wish."
she stated simply.
"the farthest i've got with kissing is some wierd kid slobbering on my cheek."
she made an icky face and stuck out her tounge.
raising up she looked at fawne.
"I have the perfect earrings for you!"
she squealed and jumped off the counter.
"They will be so cool. their indigo purple blueish......and their dream catchers!"
she couldn't help but burst out with this. they would go swell with fawne.
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 7, 2007 04:36 PM (GMT)
Fawne smiled a proper smile that reached to her grey eyes, not just a normal happy dreamy one. She pushed herself to a sit and slid off the counter before twirling on the spot her Thestral pendant swinging about merrily.
"They sound absolutely wonderful. I always wanted to be able to catch my dreams."
She paused trying to think of an appropriate gift in return for her new friend. She continued to smile as she remembered the necklace she made that had a magical sweet wrapper as a pendant. She made necklaces with her mother for a hobby; most of them being magical in origin.
"I have a necklace that would match your sweet tooth perfectly, I'd like you to have it." It made a change for Fawne to push something on someone rather that simply say; if you like.
Adriana Falchetti - August 7, 2007 05:47 PM (GMT)
Adriana laughed as fawne spun around. She had never really given any of her friends anything, but
the dream catchers seemed to be calling fawnes name. ever since she met fawne she knew they would fit her perfectly.
"i could bring them with me tonight......when we feed the thestrals..."
she laughed some more. She had never recieved a gift from anyone. She smiled a bit wider with a somewhat foolish grin.
"i have so much fun with you fawne. it's like i don't have to worry about anything except getting over excited."
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 7, 2007 07:14 PM (GMT)
Fawne nodded her head vigorously in agreement, her hair flying about. As she smiled brilliantly.
"I would like that a lot. And i am glad to have made a true friend with whom i have fun!"
She didnt feel the need to state that they had only been friends for around an hour or so; Fawne thought that Adriana had turned into a proper friend some time ago when they had shared little tidbits about there selves and now gifts. Fawne was much like a Hufflepuff when it came to friends; loyal and trusting. She glanced at the magical clock on the kitchen wall and giggled.
"I think we may have to leave a note for the house elves and come back later for food. Otherwise we wont have time to get for going to see the Thestrals."
Adriana Falchetti - August 8, 2007 04:20 PM (GMT)
Adriana nodded her head in agreement. even though they had only known each other for a hort while she felt as if the met ages ago.
"yeah we can come back later for the food."
She walked towards the door.
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 8, 2007 06:02 PM (GMT)
Fawne pulled a piece of parchment and a gold self inking quill from the same skirt pocket as before. She placed the parchment on the table and began to scrawl in her usually loopy letters: 'Dearest Hogwarts Elves, i wish to tell you that i have taken some meat (and fruit) for the Thestrals. Hope you don't mind greatly, as you usually don't. I would also like to ask for a small favour and ask if you could perhaps place some food aside for a picnic for me and my friend to collect at dinner. Thank you Elves. My admirations Fawne Sugarmoon.' She quickly sketched an outline of a Thestrals head on the corner of the parchment before pinning it to the wall with a weak sticking charm. She pocketed the quill and her Wand, which she had used for the charm, before running to catch up with Adriana.
"I can collect the food late if you like, and meet you just outside the forest when it starts to get dim?"
Adriana Falchetti - August 8, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
Adriana smiled and shook her head.
"That would be best. i'll meet you there..."
She leaned forward and gave fawne a quick hug.
"thanks for inviting me."
she quickly turned and left practically running to her dorm.
