Title: Feeding Time
Description: Adriana
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 8, 2007 10:54 PM (GMT)
Fawne was stood bouncing on the balls of her feet just outside the edge of the Forbidden Forest, her ever present thestral pendant bouncing merrily too. It was dinner time so most students were in the hall and no one was around to see her. She was clutching a wicker basket in front of her with both hands on the handle; the top of the basket was covered with a silver wizarding cloak with a sweet shaped necklace resting on top. She was no longer clad in her Gryffindor robes since she was going into the forest she had worn some of her own wizarding clothes; which consisted of a knee length renaissance styled silver dress and what appeared to be a sky blue female waistcoat. Her grey eyes looked about in the growing dimness for her newest Friend. Adriana and her were off to see the Thestrals.
Adriana Falchetti - August 8, 2007 11:07 PM (GMT)
Adriana rushed out side. Slipping her left neon orange converse on as she went. She had been busily going through her stuff . Coming up with a necklace ad braclet to go with the dream catcher earrings. She had slipped off her school clothes also and now wore knee length capris with her favorite quidditch team t-shirt. Running up to Fawne she smiled.
"I hope i'm not late?"
She asked out of breath.
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 8, 2007 11:17 PM (GMT)
Fawne smiled at her friend brightly and shook her head gently in response to the comment about being late. "You cannot be tardy for the Thestrals as they don't mind." She giggled softly and grabbed hold of her friends wrist with her right hand the left still clutching the basket. She grabbed Adriana wrist so she could direct her into the forest, and so she began to head into the forest. She glanced backwards at Adriana and nodded her head determined to get into the Forest before the girls were spotted and got into trouble. "Lets go!...Oh and i like your shoes" This statement was true to itself she found the bright orange shoes much more interesting than her blue ballet styled ones.
Adriana Falchetti - August 8, 2007 11:26 PM (GMT)
Adriana gave a nervous giggle as fawne lead her into the forest. in all four years she had never been in here. This place had given her the creeps. She shruigged off the creeps and thought about feeding the thestrals. As fawne mentioned her liking the brightly colored shoes she smiled wider.
"Thanks i have ever so many in different colors."
It was true she did. She was a big converse freak and collected ever color she saw. She pushed the branches away from her face as they slapped at her while being lead.
"I hope thier there...."
The butterflys grew in her stomach.
"They will be there?"
She asked more in question.
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 8, 2007 11:42 PM (GMT)
Fawne was pulling Adriana towards a small clearing about 10 minutes into the forest. Even Fawne wasn't quirky enough to willingly go deep into the forest unprepared and with a picnic basket. She giggled delicatly at her friend but not in malice.
"Of course they will be there, they do love to be fed, i talk to them often. They might not be there straight away but it wont take long for the food to entice them...I would like to see all your multi coloured shoes someday, they sound like a wonderful hobby."
Fawne seemed to be having no trouble with the branches and even if she did both her hands were preoccupied. It seemed it was mainly the fact she had walked this path a lot.
Adriana Falchetti - August 8, 2007 11:51 PM (GMT)
Adriana saw no unusualness in talking to animals. She talked to her dog benji all the time.
"great."
she said as she followed her and looked around the clearing.
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 9, 2007 12:00 AM (GMT)
Fawne smiled as she reached the clearing. The trees were thick around the edges but the clearing itself was free of most shrubbery except for a few bushes and a large tree stump. She pulled a red blanket from under her cloak in the basket now hooked over her arm and with her other hand she grabbed her wand. With a flick of her wrist and a silent spell the blanket was set on the floor. Fawne placed the basket in the middle of the blanket before pulling a familiar yellow bag form its wicker confines. She took a piece of sloppy meat from the bag and placed it on the tree stump before tossing the bag back down onto the blanket and cleaning her hand with the 'Scourgify' spell. "There all set up, now we can wait. The delightful elves set up quiet a feast for us they had to magically expand the basket to fit it all in." With that said Fawne pulled her cloak and the necklace resting on top of it from the basket to reveal all the food inside.
Adriana Falchetti - August 9, 2007 12:08 AM (GMT)
Adriana followed to where fawne was setting things up. She peaked into the basket and her stomach gave a loud growl. Her hand went to it and she laughed.
"i hope their hungry because i sure am ........"
She waited for Fawne to sit before she did. she wanted to give her present first. this was kind of like their own special holiday. Thestral day she had decided to call it.
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 9, 2007 12:22 AM (GMT)
She sat down on the blanket on the side nearest to the Tree stump. Smiling she placed her cloak to the side of her and clasped her hands around the pendant so it was impossible to see what it looked like until it changed hands. "I am absolutely ravonous and the Thestrals always like a treat. I shall alert you as soon as i see them." She extended both her clasped shut hands towards Adriana and opened her fingers slowly one by one to show the necklace inside. The necklace itself was about normal length but the best bit about it was the Sweet shaped pendant, it was shaped like a flat classically wrapped round toffee only the colour was Hufflepuff yellow and had had been magically charmed to sparkle and change to the colour of the owners shoes at the tap of the owners wand; on the back of the pendant was the shilouet head of a Thestral. "The idea was my own but Mummy had to charm it; i still can't get the spells right. Well i would like you to have it since it matches your sweet tooth. And if you tap it with your wand it would match your shoes." She smiled brightly then and even her eyes seemed to glow.
Adriana Falchetti - August 9, 2007 01:34 AM (GMT)
Adriana loved it. Her eyes grew wide and she almost screamed her head off. Taking a closer looked she knew she would always treasure it. It was unique. Thats something she looked for the uniqueness in things. Tears sprang to her eyes and she looked at her friend.
"Thanks fawne....it's so beautiful...i love it."
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 9, 2007 10:09 PM (GMT)
"You're more than welcome after all were friends... If you like perhaps during a summer we can make some more and have mummy teach us the charms?"#
Fawne realised she'd barely known Adriana for a day but she was one who was quick to befriend and loyal to all those who she called friends. Besides her mummy often complain when Fawne didn't bring friend's to visit. She glanced at the stump and around the edges of the clearing and noticed she could still not see any Thestrals. They must have been deep in the forest.
"It seems we shall have to wait a little longer, i forgot sometimes they are much further into their home, no fretting though they will be here."
Adriana Falchetti - August 10, 2007 02:38 PM (GMT)
nodding her head excitedly.
"I would love to fawne. it would be great then i could make my mum a beatiful necklace. Thats fine. i still have to give you your present."
She said with a big smile. reaching inside her pocket and pulling out a small purple suede drawstring bag and showing it to fawne with a flourish. untying it she held out her hand and let the contents spill out. inside her hand was a long beaded and feathered necklace hanging down was a small dream catcher the size of an acorn it was red and blue and green. dangling in the middle were two tiny silver feathers. next came the bracelet which had tiny silver dream catchers connected by beads. Finally came the earrings. two miny dream catchers on hooks that mixed its colors from indigo to purple to blue. On the strings there were the tiniest of beads. she leaned back on her heels and laid them on the blanket for her to see.
"It was a set i couldn't give you one without giving you the others."
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 14, 2007 03:02 PM (GMT)
Fawne wasn't the type to squeal as it didn't really fit her dreamy persona but the dreamcatcher jewellery certainly made her eyes sparkle and give a delicate gasping noise. She smiled and lent forward to give Adriana a seated hug before leaning back into her original seating position."They are wonderful, i adore them. Thank you Adriana." She paused thinking of the conversation, from before, about summer and realised she knew very little about Adriana outside fo school. "May i ask, do you live in a wizarding home?" Fawne always liked to know what she could send to her friends without alerting muggels.
OOC: Sorry about the wait; I've just started my summer job so I've been pretty busy but I'm back now =) I think I'm going to put the Thestrals in Fawne's next post.
Adriana Falchetti - August 15, 2007 05:55 AM (GMT)
Adsriana smiled when her friend gasped. She had really hoped Fawne liked them. Looking at her as she sat back she put the itemsone by one in the little drawstring purse.
"no i live in london right above my mums shop. how about you?"
Adriana was thinking the same thing. they hadn't really gotten to know how each other lives outside of school. She was dying to live in a wizarding community and could only dream of the time when she would have her own flat.
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 17, 2007 09:02 PM (GMT)
Fawne laid the sweet necklace down at the side of the basket and stared up at the gap in the tree tops as she smiled. It wouldn't mater where Adriana lived, or who her parents were; she was Fawne's friend now and that's all that she counted.
"I live with Mummy in a wizarding community near London, but not too close to it though as we live near one of the wizarding forests. I would like you to come and visit some time; i could show you Mummys home potions lab."
Fawne always called her mother Mummy it was just one of her quirks. She shifted her gaze from the sky and back to the tree trunk with the meat. Her grey eyes became less dreamy and more vibrant as they set upon a pair of white shinning orbs, or rather Thestal Eyes, at the edge of the clearing. She smiled a proper smile whilst she grabbed Adriana's hand and pointed it in the Thestrals direction.
"I think we have a visitor, he hasn't told me his name yet but i can tell he is about a year old due to his height. Thestrals are always hungry so he will wander over for the meat soon. Then we can stroke him if you like?"
Adriana Falchetti - August 18, 2007 02:15 PM (GMT)
Adriana was on the verge of agreeing to come and visit fawne and her mum when the girl grabbed her hand and pointed in the direction of a group of trees.
"their."
she started to say loudly but was afraid she was going to scare the young thestral off.
"theres one there? for real?"
she asked. eyes growing wide and excitement creeping in her voice. she looked to where Fawne was pointing but all she could see were tree. Afew leaves and branches moved but it looked as if the wind was blowing them. there was no wind. Adriana turned and looked at the meat.
"i wish i could see them."
she half moaned.
"then again maybe not....."
she never wanted to see someone pass away and never had so far. Adriana made no comment about the thestral talking to her. she thought it was quite fine to think animals could talk. she scooted next to fawne just watching the spot.
"well i do wish i could but not the whole death thing......."
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 22, 2007 07:01 PM (GMT)
Fawne blinked as she stared at the Thestral. Death was not something that she feared, though she had a few experiences with it. She had very profound ideas about souls and death personified and these settled any fears though she barely mentioned why she could see the Thestrals to anyone. Even to someone who she was fast considering to be her best friend.
"I have only been able to see Thestrals for around 5 years. It is a shame there is no other way for one to be able to see them, perhaps that's why people dislike them, the reasoning behind their viewing. "
No tears filled her silver eyes and they still seemed as mister as ever. She smiled then a happy smile not a false one. Her voice had maintained its sing song quality throughout her speech.
"Although i cannot show you the Thestrals i could draw one for you perhaps. I wonder if you could see them through my memories? I do know where i can access to a pensive."
She had relinquished her grip on Adriana's wrist but she now squeezed her shoulder and gestured towards the meat which was slowly disappearing with small bites. Fawne thankfully could see the Thestral eating it and he appeared quite content now he had food.
"Would you like to feed him?"
Adriana Falchetti - August 26, 2007 04:50 PM (GMT)
Adriana thought about what fawne said. she wondered too if she could see them thorugh the other girls memories. this thought stoiwed itself i the back of her thoughts as she looked to where Fawne had pointed. she gasped as she saw the chunks of meat disappear.
"there really is one there...."
she said barely above a whisper. she looked over at fawne and smiled happy that she was sharing this with who she thought now her best friend.
"if it doesn't scare it away i would like to try."
she said even though her knees were knocking like crazy from nerves.
Fawne Sugarmoon - August 28, 2007 12:20 AM (GMT)
Fawne nodded her head distractedly agreeing to feed the Thestral before her friends concerns finally sunk into her mind. She smiled and pulled the yellow plastic meat bag up from the blanket and into her hands.
"He will not leave when there's no threat to him. He will probably stay a while after feeding too, they can be quite fond of company. ...Very clever, beautiful, creatures. I think i would like to try the pensive someday, i would like greatly to share their sight with my best friend."
Fawne pulled two pieces of meat from the bag and rose to her feet. She extended one piece down towards Adriana for her to take and kept the other in her hand. The Thestral's head perked towards the new meat, tilted in a way Fawne would often imitate in conversation. She smiled at the creature as he swallowed the last of the meat on the tree stump.
"If you like, we can feed him now."
