*Melanie was sitting in the library with Mark. He was only allowed in there because Mel promised to keep him quiet. She was attempting to do her homework but too much else was on her mind.

Tyrin had just talked to her about how, in The Family, animagi were prized above all. She would be taught amazing things and be loved and...better than Kiley. That was all that mattered to her. For once in her life, she could finally be better than her at something. She had been wanting that for so long, and finally, FINALLY, she had her chance.

She just didn't know if it was what she really, truly wanted to do. Kiley was her best friend, and, by joining The Family, she would be betraying her; She was joining a cause searching to kill her! Melanie didn't know whether her loyalty outweighed her jealousy.

Recently, she and Liam had gotten back together. They're relationship was still rocky, but they had both come to terms with the fact that they still loved eachother and gave it another shot. Melanie just wanted to talk to him about everything that was going on right now. Maybe he would have some good advice? She doubted it. He was a guy, guys rarely have good advice.*



~Mel

*Liam came into the library. He wanted to see Mel and he knew she normally was in the library around this time. He saw her and walked over, sitting across from her. He grinned* "Hey. How's the homework coming?" *He asked, propping his feet up on a chair. Liam looked down and saw that she hadn't gotten much done*

*Melanie didn't even answer his question before blurting out the question that had been bothering her for a long time. Besides, if Liam had any sort of brain at all, he would have realized that that was what had been bothering her*

Melanie:"Liam, I've been thinking about joining The Family, but I don't want to hurt Kiley. What should I do?"



~Mel

*Liam was quiet for a moment, thinking. He glanced around at the empty library before answering* "Well.....Kiley has hurt you and alex and ian before. So you should keep that in mind. And besides, everyone else is joining. It would be safer for you and mark if you joined them."

Melanie:"Tyrin told me that they adore Animagi...and that they'd teach me things because I'm one." *she smiled vaguely*"They would love me and-" *she stopped before mentioning the fact that she would be better than Kiley; She didn't want to seem selfish...even though she was.*




~Mel

"You sound like you want to join mel......you should join." *He yawned and stretched his arms over his head. Liam let them fall back down* "I think I'm going to join. If you do I deffinetly wil."

Melanie:"I just don't want Kiley to die, Liam. If I join, I'll be promoting a cause to do so!" *she paused for a moment to sigh*"But I want people to love me more than her for once." *she admitted, saying this more quietly than before*"Because I have never been better than her and I'm sick of it."


~Mel

"I've always thought so...but...I think I might be just a little bias." *He grinned, hoping to make her feel better from joking. He continued after only a short pause* "They don't kill everyone, you know. I really think you'd be happy if you joined"

*Melanie smiled a little bit*
Melanie:"Yes, but you know that if you don't think so, I'll beat you." *she joked back.*"But I really don't know about this...I'll be abandoning anything I've ever believed in."



~Mel

"Sometimes view points change, Mel. We grow up a little and our perspectives change." *He looked over at Mark* "And don't you want him to be safe? I tihnk it would be safer for everyone if we joined the family.....we wouldn't be on the run, we wouldn't be bringing him into places with unstable people that could hurt him..."

Melanie:"I...."*she tried to think of something to argue his point with but failed*"Fine. I'll do it. Tyrin told me that they wouldn't hurt Kiley, anyway. So it's not like I'm hurting anyone I really care about or anything."

*That's what she thought, anyway. She didn't know that they'd be going after Dorien. She didn't know that Ian was fully intending on joing 'The Resistance'. She had also underestimated exactly how many people her mother had helped cope with being werewolves or vampires, and therefore didn't know how many people she would be letting down. She didn't know that, in the long run, this would be one of her biggest regrets.*



~Mel

*Liam smied* "See? Exacly. I really think you'll like it Mel....and I'll be there with you, and everyone will be there.....and it'll be like we belong to a family again. A real family." *He said quietly. Neither he nor mel had their parents, so he had an idea of how that would effect her, being a part of a family again*

*Melanie smiled, even though she still felt guilty for betraying her best friend*
Melanie:"And you know, since you're dating me and I'm an animagus, they might treat you better than the others too, and if they don't...they will if I ask them to."




~Mel

*Liam grinned* "See? All the more reason for me to adore you." *He chuckled and reached over, pulling his homework towards him. Liam absently filled in some of the answers he knew* "I really think this is a good thing...."

*Melanie rolled her eyes. Liam could be so ridiculous at times. So was she, so it all worked out well.*
Melanie:"Yeah, I guess." *she smiled as she realized that this was where they had first met each other, and Liam was doing what he had been that time as well: her homework. She laughed and picked up Mark, who I'll just say has been sleeping cause I forgot that he was there. He opened his eyes and looked around, since whenever you just get picked up when you're sleeping, you really don't know what just happened. He realized that his mommy was holding him and his daddy was sitting near him. He was content now, although being woken up did not make him happy.*

*Liam absently drew a thing on his hand with the quill.* "So when do you want to go ahead and do this? Like...actually join?" *He asked, glancing up from his hand to look at her and Mark.*

Melanie:"Well, Sentinus told me that he wanted to meet me in private tomorrow afternoon, so, then I suppose. I'm just afraid that I'm going to freeze and change my mind at the last minute or something stupid like that."



~Mel

"I don't think you will." *He tried to assure her* "Would you mind if I waited for you near by....incase you needed me? And then I could talk to him about joining after you do. If you don't want me to I won't...but I can be there if you need me."

Melanie:"You can be there if you want to...you know that , generally, whenever I have private meetings with people they end up bad. I can tell him that you want to join if you'd like me to, but again, if you want to do it, you can."



~Mel

"That sounds good. You can mention it to him when you meet with him. I'd like to be there. Just incase things go wrong, I can be your buffer." *He smiled encouragingly*

Melanie:"Alright."*she said before sighing*"I'll be able to do it. You're right, anyway. Kiley has hurt me and my family too much in the past for me to keep letting it slide like I have been." *she said this only so she could feel like there was actually a good reason behind her joining The Family*
