Kiley Stewert - September 17, 2007 10:12 PM (GMT)
....I wouldn't be able to talk about all the bands I like....I have over 2,000 songs on my iPod. Plus I have a bunch of albums and cassettes. I'm a music junkie. It's like an addiction. lol and I listen anything....classic rock, broadway, instrumental, alternative, oldies, metal....uhhhh.......rock.......country......everything except like, rap and hip hop......that crap. lol

rogue winters - September 18, 2007 12:22 AM (GMT)
lol see i'm with kiley i listen to eveything. even rap and hip hop too. the only sucky thing is i'm to poor to own an ipod.....yeah *is embarassed* all my money goes to my mom to pay the bills since we're on our own now.

say anyone got and xtra ipod i can have.........?
lol just joking

Kiley Stewert - September 18, 2007 01:15 AM (GMT)
yeah, I had to buy my own iPod....it's my baby...and it was like, perfect untill some fatso stepted on it and crushed the screen. So like the top 1/4th of an inch of the screen is black. And I can't afford to get it fixed.

Yeah, I know it's materialistic to complain about that...but....yeah, there's really no explanation. I'm materialistic. lol

I'll get you an iPod Rogue. lol. With my $300 that I have sitting around. yeah. I wish. haha. I'll give you an imaginary one. there we go.

Melanie Hunter - September 18, 2007 01:50 AM (GMT)
lol, I only got mine after much begging and pleading...and telling my parents that they wouldn't be forced to listen to my music in the car or buy CDs. lol.

I listen to a lot of stuff, but mainly musicals. My tastes aren't as diversified as Rogue and Kiley's, but if I find a song I like, I'll buy it and put it on my iPod or at least a playlist. So yeah...I don't really have a lot of favorite bands. Here's my list of favorite bands:

SoCo (Something Coprorate)

The Beatles

Anthony Rapp

woooo. lol. Those are seriously the only three playlists devoted to bands/Artists. I have a "Random Cool Things" category where I put all of the songs that aren't musicals that I like. There's a lot of songs there, but not many from one particular artist...except Kelly Clarkson...there seems to be a poopload of her in there. lol.

I have quite a few playlists of whole musicals, and then I have one humongo-gungo-big-enough-to-eat-you playlist full of random songs from random musicals that I didn't feel like getting the whole soundtrack to. :) So if I don't have a whole playlist for a musical, there might be something from it there.

I'm gonna work on getting whole soundtracks to musicals in there, though. I have like....8 songs from some musicals but not a whole playlist.

Musicals with a whole playlist:

Aida
Avenue Q
Chicago
Forbidden Broadway
Godspell
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (okay, not a musical, but a soundtrack none the less)
Les Miserables
Little Shop of Horrors
LOST (again, not a musical, but, again, a soundtrack)
Moulin Rouge
Phantom of the Opera
RENT NYTW
RENT OBC (I dont even have the movie cast on a playlist anymore)
Spamalot
Spring Awakening
The Producers
West Side Story
Wicked

I'm working on getting everything from Spelling Bee and Children of Eden, want the rest of Hairspray, Fiddler, RHPS, and Supserstar- God, my list goes on forever. lol.

And I'm weirded out when people say that I know a lot of musicals because I really cannot tell you anything about most classics...which I'm also working on.

......Why do I hear a nerdy voice speaking in my head as I type this?

Oh wait, cause I sound like a total nerd. lol.

rogue winters - September 18, 2007 05:24 AM (GMT)
lol thanks ki. it's ok to be materialistic. if i had an ipod i would probably never use it due to the fat that i would be afraid of breaking it. i have to do without alot of stuff because things are tight. you know beccause the parents split up and we only have two inomes coming in. all those bills to pay.....
gas
eletric
moms bills
internet(one of my luxuries)
insurance on the car
life insurance
cable (which i don't watch but mom does)
cell phone bill (another one of my few luxuries)

right now money is tight and when i do get some extra money i give it to mom so she ca enjoy it. you know got get a pedicure(she stands all day lomg). or go to play bingo at a near by hall. or to a movie. me i'm a home body. i don't really go out much anymore latley........wait why am i explaining this.....never mind

Rogue it's awesome that you help your mama out so much. It proves that you are a kick-butt person. You know what else does?

My neighbor gave me this keychain back when X-Men first came out and I have it on my backpack right now. What does it say? Rogue. :) I put it on there because of youuuuuu.

Cute lol.

Anyways...

Canada= Punk Rock.

Me= Canadian :D

Kiley Stewert - September 21, 2007 12:21 PM (GMT)
I'm starting to to listen to more punk rock. I like it a lot.

yeah rogue, my parents are divorced too. I think I may have already told you that. I don't remember (damn pain meds) lol Anyway, I think that I'm better off without my dad. I haven't talked to him in years and that's working out just fine. Because when I'm famous he's gonna come crawling back and be like "Oh sweetheart, I'm so sorry....your papa loves you." he's always insisted I called him papa (???)

And I know my situation's waaay different for yours rogue, because I never really knew my dad all that well so it wasn't really all that hard for me. except when he decided it wasn't necessary to talk anymore. That hurt. But everything'll turn out okay for you Rogue. Because we love you.

rogue winters - September 21, 2007 10:20 PM (GMT)
and i know it will because i love all of you too. my family is lumos.

James Sanders - September 24, 2007 10:12 PM (GMT)
I've known Lumos for so long, even though I go on and off every few months..

Finnigan Tatupu - October 3, 2007 09:32 PM (GMT)
I have some serious problems with everyone's lists...

Only Mel put down the Beatles...

Nobody put down Rush

and worst of all, nobody put down Earth, Wind, and Fire...

I'm not sure if anyone knows, or understands this, but all contemporary music has to do with the foundations of EWF in some way. EWF bridged the gap between Rock and Jazz, creating many of the rhythms we know today. Nearly everything in the music world has some kind of rhythm or some kind of electronic element to their music.

Kiley Stewert - October 3, 2007 10:48 PM (GMT)
Okay, well, I turned mel onto the beatles. I have all their CDs, I'm going to new york this december for John Lennon's vigal (sp), and I'm considering getting a beatles affiliated tattoo someday. So yeah. lol

Finn, I thought we've already discussed that I'm a beatles fan. Remember, because you said that your birthday is on john lennon's birthday, which is october 9th, which I hate you for because I'm insanely jealous. lol

Finnigan Tatupu - October 4, 2007 02:10 AM (GMT)
I remember... You just didn't list it...

Squall Leonheart - October 4, 2007 06:54 AM (GMT)
Spirit Of Radio - Rush
YYZ - Rush
The Working Man - Rush

those are the only three songs i know by Rush, but yeah, i do like those three.

i don't like the beatles, at all. yeah, i know i've probably made many enemies now, but whatever, it's personal tastes, and i would never listen to the beatles.

never heard any EWF. but saying that, i wouldn't like a band just because they influenced one of my favourites.

Michael Angelo Batio is influenced by Deep Purple. whilst i like Smoke On The Water and Burn, i am not a DP fan.

Iron Maiden are influenced by Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy and UFO, yet i wouldn't class myself a fan of any of them. (i like Doctor Doctor - UFO though)

the idea of it being the foundations for the stuff that we hear today is all well and good, but depending on how the music has evolved (like Maiden's has from the classic sound of UFO), determines whether i like the newer band or the older band.
