Jake sat silently in the kitchen. He had a lot on his mind and he had too much time to think about it in the quiet of the early morning. He needed to talk to his parents. He knew they would want to give him the news that he already suspected. They had chosen to, basically, disown him for going against them. If that was true, he had just gone from having a fortune to having nothing. He had no idea what was going on between him and Kiley and to top it all off he was still stuck in hiding. He had thought he would get accustomed to it, but he was still just as frustrated with the situation as he had been in the beginning.

rogue moved around restlessly. she hadn't been sleeping well. maybe it was from just sitting around and waiting to do something or maybe it was from all the drama she had going on. she couldn't really tell. she walked into the kitchen with her empty cup. maybe some warm milk would put her to sleep. she saw jake sitting quietly. it looked like he was in deep thought. sitting down next to him.
"can't sleep either?"
she asked knowing that the waiting was getting to everyone

Jake's smile was forced and sleepy. "Hi Rogue." He said. "No...I just have a lot on my mind right now." he didn't want to go into any greater detail, she probably had just as much on her mind. "Why are you up?" he asked her.

"can't sleep really."
she muttered and sat down next to him. she looked at her now full cup and took a sip,
"i know you might not wanna talk about it.....but i'm a really good person to listen to others problems....."
she offered him. in a way she hoped they could unburden noth themselves.

Jake normally was the type of person to keep things to himself. After considering it for a second he decided it wouldn't anything to talk to Rogue. Besides, she would probably be able to answer his questions about Kiley. "Well, there's my parents. I know I need to talk to them but I don't want to. I've lost my money." he said, it was obvious he was a little more worried about his wealth than his parents. He forgot that Rogue didn't even know anything about his parents or how much money they had. "I'm still in hiding and haven't gotten used to it." he looked down and sighed, "It would be a lot easier to adjust if the person I came here for wasn't acting like she doesn't even know me." he added. He wanted to see Rogue's reaction, see if she looked surprised or confused by his comment.

rogue looked utter confused. she understood about being worried about his parents and the kiley thing but the restwas like ....... duh......
"well do you wanna explain a little bit more?"
she asked hopefully to get more insite on his problems.

My parents hate me. I was going to be getting a lot of money after I graduated, but that's gone now. I never wanted to go into hiding in the first place but I decided to do it for Kiley, but she apparently hates me now." He didn't even want to think about his last conversation with Kiley. He decided to add something else that was worrying him. He sighed and looked away from Rogue. "I think there's somethng going on between her an Milo." he said under his breath. Jake hadn't wanted to say anything about Milo but if anyone would be able to answer his questions about him and Kiley it would be Rogue.

rogue was shocked into silence. how could one person hold so many problems. she asked herself. biting her bottom lip she looked at the ground in concentration. then after a while she looked up.
" jake i don't think your parents hate you. money is nothing you have your whole life ahead of you to think about money and problems that come with it."
she hoped he would take that into consideration.
"as for kiley and milo i don't really know whats going on with them. the only time i saw them together they were going over some blueprints of somekind."
she didn't want to tell him that they were flirting with each other.
"if you love kiley jake and you want to be with her you have to fight for her. you have to show other guys that your the one she is with and thats final. if kiley chooses the other guy over you then i don't know.......maybe you two weren't ment for each other. but remember you have to work hard and fight for the things most precious in life."
she didn't know what else to say. she had told him what she thought.
"have you even talked to your parents yet?"
she asked jumping from one subject to another.

"No, but I know my dad. He had me on a leash my entire life because of that money...He joined the family and I joined the resistance even tough he wanted me to join the family. He's not a very forgiving person." Jake wasn't concerned with trying to get his fortune back as much as he was about just speaking to his parents. He didn't want to see them but he knew he needed to. As for Kiley...Jake didn't even know if he wanted to fight for her. He would never tell Rogue that, but it was the truth. If Kiley really was cheating on him, then it wasn't worth the effort to try and win her back. He had already gone to war with his prents, lost a fortune, and uprooted his entire life for her.

rogue placed her hand on his shoulder and looked at him with concern.
"jake you'll have to face them one way or the other. sooner or later."
she kept her hand there to show him comfort and that someone was there for him.
"it'll be hard but the more you put it off...the worse it'll get."
she heaved a sigh.
"as for kiley maybe you need to come out right and talk to her. i don't wanna get into the middle of things between you two because you are both my friends, but i will have a word or two with her if you want me too."
she offered quietly. she would anyways because kiley shouldn't keep jake in the dark he seemed like a good guy and she did see it his way he gave up practically everything to be with her.
"if it doesn't work out theres still the option of whiping your memory."

"I've thought about that." he admitted. It would make everything a lot easier, but he still wasn't sure if he wanted his memory erased. Besides, he wasn't usually the tyoe of person who took the easy way out of a situation. "Anyway, I think I'll leave to see my parents sometime next week and get it over with...But I don't know how to talk to Kiley. I don't want to accuse of her of doing something that she isn't doing..."

rogue sat back and thought how she would hald things like this.
"you don't wanna put pressure on her either...."
she thought for another moment.
"maybe......maybe you could not talk around the subject but maybe tell her you respect her and want to know how she's feeling. you tell her you're getting vibes from her and milo and that you would like to know whats going on."
she could do more brainstorming and help him out but didn't want to betray kiley.

"Yeah...I'll figure soething out. I know I hae to talk to her. It will take a lot of stress off me eithe way. At least I'll know what's going on."" He hated the idea that of telling Ki what he suspected, but he needed to know the truth.
