Title: The beginning

Dorien Hurt - October 27, 2007 05:05 PM (GMT)
*Dorien was chained to the wall. It was dark in the cell, which was good, because the light was beginning to hurt his eyes. He was sitting on the ground, absently playing with one of his chains. Dorien could hear someone approaching from down the hall and he sliently stood, alert and prepared*

Milo Scone - October 27, 2007 05:12 PM (GMT)
The door was opened and sentinus, not in his usual white attire but dressed in black leather. His long hair was tied in a pony tail at the back of his head. The Elder wand was in one hand, in another was a book. Several people followed.

He sat down and lit the room brightly, just to annoy the Vampire. He looked at Dorien and waved his wand so the chains would stretch out his limbs so the Grand could see all of him.

"Hello Prisoner, you have been selected as part of our research project."

He waved his wand again to remove Dorien's clothes, the Sentinus planned to do a complete study of the Vampire.

Dorien Hurt - October 27, 2007 05:19 PM (GMT)
*Dorien winced in the light. The constant whine of the flurrocent lights told him that he wasn't going to enjoy this. Dorien's skin shimmered slightly, like it did when he was out in the sunlight.. He looked up at Sentinus silently, his eyes a blackish red and filled with loathing* "What exactly will we be researching today, master?" *He asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.*

Milo Scone - October 27, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
"How to kill a Vampire," Sentinus said conversationally, as if they were both in a bar having a drink and a game of cards. He noted down the shimmy effect that the lighting had on his skin - interesting. He drew several complex diagrams but held the lights on.

"Ok, several people will come to meet you today with skills across the spectrum. We shall be testing you with various spells, potions and torture devices. But I am also interested in you as a species, how you react to certain things, bodily responses and so on..." he said in a bored voice, it coveted his burning interest well.

"Ok Prisoner, first I would like you to answer me some questions to save extra experimentation. Failure to answer will just mean we try it."

"First up: The only thing you feed or drink on is human blood. Correct?"

Dorien Hurt - October 27, 2007 05:28 PM (GMT)
*Dorien just smiled at him. He wasn't planning on cooperating in the slightest.* "I think I'm going to like this game." *He said to himself, under his breath, so quietly and quickly that they probably wouldn't be able to hear what he said since they were mortals. It just appeared as if his lips were vibrating.*

Milo Scone - October 27, 2007 05:35 PM (GMT)
Sentinus just raised and eyebrow and threw down his book. "Bring in Scone." And in the next few moments Milo Scone walked through the door, glancing at Dorien only briefly before sitting down at the table, not acknowledging he had ever set eyes on the Vampire. "Your Grandsire." He nodded his head.

The Grand smiled and then said. "Make your strongest poison with the ingrediants provided."

"Yes Grandsire."

And Milo obeyed, making a very strong poison inside the pewter cauldron. It took moments to make. He bottled it and knelt before the Grand and presented the cauldron. He kissed his robe before he went and sat down again.

The Grand held the bottle in his hand, he pointed his wand at it and vanished the liquid inside the bottle into Dorien's throat.

Dorien Hurt - October 27, 2007 05:45 PM (GMT)
"You're all victems." *He said, tasting the potion in his mouth. It was terrible* "So now I die? You kill me and you loose the one shot at learning about us. Not as if you deserve to, you ignorant sc...." *But Dorien doubled over in the pain in his stomach. He snarled and ground his teeth against the pain*

Milo Scone - October 27, 2007 05:47 PM (GMT)
"There a plenty more where you came from," Milo said, playing the little game. Sentinus however hushed him down and observed the effects.

"Yes, there are many more we can learn from, you are just our first and we can eliminate some methods of killing from our checklist if all bodes well." He moved forwards for a close examination of what the poison was doing.

Dorien Hurt - October 27, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
"Fine, the answer is yes." *He lied cooly, still doubled over in pain. It was beginning to lessen, but he continued acting as if it was worsening* "We eat anything else and it could kill us. It will cause our insides to deterioriate." *Part of it was slightly based on fact, but not much.* "Okay?" *He said in fake desperation, having another spasm of "pain"*

Milo Scone - October 27, 2007 06:02 PM (GMT)
Milo quivered, taken in by the acting of Dorien - would he really die? Milo just sat. If he did, it was a necessary loss for a bigger goal. The only person he would die for was Kiley.

Sentinus watched, torn between healing him or allowing the poison to continue. He was ambivalent, like a pin in between two dark and evil magnets of ill-bode. He flinched with his wand, not knowing what to do for the first time in his forsworn life.

Instead, he talked: "Liar!" He spat, his beautiful, glorious fate falling into something quiet ugly and despicable. His voice had lost its singsong charm and had become hoarse. The true Sentinus was unmasked.

Dorien Hurt - October 27, 2007 06:07 PM (GMT)
"No!" *Dorien howled, looking up at Sentinus, his eyes full of terror and pain* "Please!" *He yelled, throwing his head back and yelling out. Dorien remembered when he was a young vampire and how it had been nearly impossible to controll the volume of his voice. Now he could do it perfectly. His acting was spot on, rehearsed and well delivered* "Please!" *He called again, this time quieter, his knees buckling. He was now being held up by the chains. Bloody ters ran from his eyes, staining his smooth cheeks*

Milo Scone - October 27, 2007 06:10 PM (GMT)
The Sentinus seethed, squinting and hissing. He screamed so loudly that the walls quivered and it was so high pitched it could match a banshee's head on. It was vicious and horrible to listen to. He hovered off the ground and pointed the Elder Wand at Dorien.

"Do not lie to me," he said, his voice now like a God's. "Does this poison kill you?" The ground shook with his madness. But, before he could answer Sentinus had purged Dorien's body of the poison in secret to see if Dorien kept up the act.

Dorien Hurt - October 27, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
"I don't know..." *He said weakly, closing his eyes. He held his breath, and played dead. Dorien didn't really need to breath in the first place. It was just a habit. He just wanted to invoke a reaction from Sentinus and establish himself as a problem for here on out*

Milo Scone - October 27, 2007 06:22 PM (GMT)
Sentinus lowered himself and composed himself to perfection once more. He walked right up to him and dealt a punch to the side of his head. "Wake up vermin, I purged the poison from you minutes ago. you cannot outsmart me. I am Merlin's Messenger on earth."

Dorien Hurt - October 27, 2007 06:33 PM (GMT)
*Dorien held his neck firm, not moving his head. It, of course, hardly hurt his marble-like skin, but he had a feeling Sentinus would have a very injured hand because of his stupidity. He grinned and straightened up* "Of course you are. Excuse me your Highness." *He said with the same sarcasm he had used earlier*

Milo Scone - October 28, 2007 09:07 AM (GMT)
His knuckles reddened but with a little magic returned to normal. Sentinus made several notes in his book. "No more games. We shall now be testing Vampire reactions to common myths."

He conjured a clove of Garlic and began rubbing it over Dorien's face.

Dorien Hurt - October 28, 2007 03:36 PM (GMT)
*Dorien tilted his head away from sentinus and raised his eyesbrows* "Really sir...I'm going to have to take a shower if you keep this up." *He mocked. The garlic made his skin itch but he didn't move to recognize that. He pretended as if nothing was happening and just looked at him like he was stupid.*

Milo Scone - October 28, 2007 03:45 PM (GMT)
Sentinus, as always, noted down the lack of effect. It certainly wasn't killing him. He took a black crucifix from his pocket, followed by a chain. Then, he placed it over Dorien's head and waited for any effect.

Milo tensed, unsure as much as Sentinus about the tolerance to each of the myths that Sentins was testing. Scone held his breath as he tested each one, his knuckled going snow white in terror and fear. But he did not move. He did nothing for the good of the Resistance. Yes. It did have a capital now.

Dorien Hurt - October 28, 2007 03:53 PM (GMT)
*Dorien could sence the fear rolling off of Milo in waves, but he ignored it. Dorien looked up at the cross and then to sentinus, then back up at the necklace.* "That's a very nice cross, sir." *He paused and then acted as if comprehension downed on him.* "Ooohhh, right...." *Dorien pretended to wither in pain away from the cross. He glanced at sentinus* "I just wanted you to think you were accomplishing something." *He explained condecendingly*

Milo Scone - October 28, 2007 04:06 PM (GMT)
Milo looked for a second and his mouth twitched into a laugh, he let go a single beat of laughter before composing himself again. Sentinus turned to him and smiled. "Grandsire," he bowed his head in apology. But he knew from the way the Grand was looking that he would be punished, whether it was physically or emotional for his outburst.

The Grand turned to Dorien, leaving the relic on his bare chest. He thrashed his wand through the air to send a streak of fire across Dorien's chest.

Dorien Hurt - October 28, 2007 04:18 PM (GMT)
*Dorien yelled out, stumbling slightly. The fire burned a slash across his chest horizontally. This time he wasn't pretending. He ran his fingers over the burn, cringing. The burn began to heal over, but it was still painful and it wasn't healing very fast. He knew that Sentinus had found a weak spot and it burned him worse than the fire had*

Milo Scone - October 28, 2007 04:28 PM (GMT)
His eyes lit up with glee. Fire. That was the key. he made another slash with his wand and intensified the inferno that was like a whip now. "Fire... ah, a Vampire's weakness."

He noted it down.

Dorien Hurt - October 28, 2007 04:37 PM (GMT)
*Dorien jumped at Sentinus, trying to attack him, but the chairns held him back. He yelled as he pulled against the chains and one of them broke from the wall. However, within seconds, half a douzen people rushed foward to restrian him.*

Milo Scone - October 28, 2007 05:02 PM (GMT)
"Stupid Vermin!" He shouted above the rabble, now laughing. Fire. How simple, yet so, so crude. A Vampire that could withstand poison and holy relics was simply fragile against fire. A natural element.

"Let him come at me. I am the Grand Sentinus. I am now... impervious!" His stood on the table and sent fireballs at Dorien, one killing his own supporter.

Dorien Hurt - October 28, 2007 05:13 PM (GMT)
*A few of the people holding Dorien jumped back to avoid the fire and Dorien was able to rip loose from the rest of them. He lunged himself at Sentinus, his fangs exposed. He felt the fire burn his skin but he ignored it. He was half crazed from confinement and hunger and he no longer cared about what happened to him*

Milo Scone - October 28, 2007 05:19 PM (GMT)
He pointed his wand to a family member and willed him between the Vampire and himself to take the blow. He sent fourth and inferno of flames to prevent him as well as sending thirty chains to wrap him up.

Dorien Hurt - October 28, 2007 05:28 PM (GMT)
*The family member screamed as Dorien pulled him with him, using him as a shield against the flames. He was burned and it hurt, but when the man was burned he started to bleed. And dorien couldn't help but take advantage of the situation. Besides, when would he have a meal next. He sunk his teeth into the man's neck and tasted the hot blood rush past his lips. He had gotten what he wanted. Dorien kept his strong arms around the man as he drained his life force. However he was dragged away before the man died. He stumbled towards Sentinus, grabbing at the front of his robes* "Father...."

*Dorien was slammed against the wall and secured. He licked the blood from his lips and smiled, his teeth stained red. The blood helped the wounds to heal faster. Dorien watched the man, pleased with the chaos that he had created*
