Kennedy stood by the water's edge, casting random spells at any creature that happened to pass by. She was never able to st completely still and silent. Boredom didn't sit well with her. She had even managed to earn the name Hummingbird among her family because she was always in motion. She got fidgety easily and always needed something, anything to pass the time-turning birds pink for example.

Tiffany had had an early morning, unusual for her. She had thrown on whatever she could find, some old tee shirt and and some jeans and sweatshirt. She sat on a rock by the edge of the lake. She had a notebook with her, just to write. She was a terrible speller, but she wrote everyday. stories, diary entries, letters. Right now she was writing to her bestfriend from home, Jill.
She looked up every so often. At some point she heard a noise. Someone had cast a spell on an animal and she heard it squeak. Her head jerked up. She saw a girl standing somewhat nearby.
"Hi," She said, sort of distantly.

Kennedy instantly turned on her heel. "Hello" she said brightly, putting her wand in the bag lying on the ground beside her, completely forgetting about the bubble-gum-pink bird. She was ecstatic to have someone to talk to. She didn't even notice that the girl sounded a little distant. She trotted to the place where the girl sat. Their appearances were very different. Kenny was wearing a sky blue sweater and a pair of tight jeans and a pair of white and light blue heels. Her hair was down and wavy, she had made an attempt at straightening it but it hadn't gone as well as she would have liked. A touch of makeup was visible on her face. "My name's Kennedy." She said, toning down her excitement so that she didn't freak the girl out too much.

Tiffany smiled, and giggled a little. the girl was pepped up, it was adorable.
"I'm Tiffany." She said, looking the girl right in the eyes.
"You're not a Slytherin, I'm guessing." Tiffany said, judging from the way the girl acted. All cutsy and peppy.

"Oh no." She said as if something had just gone terribly wrong. I'm a Hufflepuff." She said cheerfully. "You're not are you?" Most Slytherins would not have giggled at Kennedy's child-like behavior.

Paige gave her a look like, "girl, are you crazy?!' She smiled, and shook her head, holding her book close to her chest, her arms tightly wrapped around it.She had one leg on the rock and one hanging off.She swung that leg back and forth.
"I'm not. I'm in Gryffindor. You're lucky, I wanted Hufflepuff when I first came here. but I'm perfectly happy with Gryffindor now."

"Really?" She asked sounding very surprised. "Most people don't seem to like hufflepuff. It's like the house you get put into when you don't fit in anywhere else. I like being a Hufflepuff though." She said, sounding very thoughtful. "You know what, you don't even know my name do you?! I'm Kennedy." she announced with child-like enthusiasm upon realizing she had yet to introduce herself.

"That's a pretty name. ugh, I hate my name. I'm so jealous." Tiffany said, her gaze wandering over to the water.
"Tiffany is an icky name. I wish I could go by my middle name, but I was raised as Tiffany. It's like a valley girl name, its disgusting! I cannot for the life of me stand it."

"I like the name Tiffany. Kennedy's just weird." She said with disguist. "So, what is your middle name, of you don't mind me asking?"

"Oh, its Antoinette. I think its really pretty, but not to sound like, conceited or something. God knows I'm not conceited, and I don't know how I could be." Tiffany rolled her eyes at herself. She held one arm to cover her stomach, as she was hunched a little and she thought she looked fat.

Antoinette is a very pretty name and you're gorgeous." Kenny noticed that Tiffany covered her stomach, "And you certainly aren't fat! I think you have a right to be conceited." She said the last part with a small smile. She hated to see people put anything about themselves down.

Tiffany looked from her stomach and back to Kennedy a couple times, and sputtered a random noise.
"How-how do you know I think I'm fat!? Stalker much...no I'm just kidding. and do not get me started on that. I'm "chunky" as my family says and my eyebrows are too thick."

"Ya, I'm totally stalking you." Kenny said jokingly. "At least you aren't a five-foot-tall twig." Kennedy said. She didn't really mind the way she was built, but it was one of the things she liked the least about herself. She was too short and too skinny. "I wouldn't mind looking like you at all." She said matter-of-factly. She fell to the ground beside the rock that Tiffany was sitting on.
