Title: Waiting
Description: Fawne

Dorien Hurt - October 28, 2007 08:36 PM (GMT)
*Dorien was chained even tighter to the wall. He could hardly move at all. It was all because of his attempt at attacking Sentinus. To him it was all worth it though. However that had been a while ago and he was starting to get hungry again. He hoped that Fawne would come soon with something for him to eat. He enjoyed her company as well, which was an added bonus.*

*Dorien's clothes were ripped and dirty, and his skin was covered in soot. There was a bit of dried blood on his cheek which was now brown. Despite that, he still possessed the breath taking beauty that all vampires possess as another tool to lure their prey into them.*

Fawne Sugarmoon - October 28, 2007 09:12 PM (GMT)
Fawne had spent the better part of a few hours looking around for stray animals. It wasn't as easy as the idea had sounded. Eventually she she had stumbled across a grey cat, when she tried to coax the cat out it had sunk its teeth into her hand. Needless to say Fawne had decided she didn't care if this cat was eaten. After a well placed stunner and a shrinking charm the frozen cat was now located in the palm of her hand. She had gotten away with the underage magic since she was in the surrounding area of a magical household. Its the same reason she could do magic within the House.

It had taken her a little while to get back to the cells as she had stumbled across them by accident last time but once there she knew exactly which cell to travel too. She didn't bother to look into the cell upon reaching it and instead she pushed gently on the door and stepped in.

"Hell-Oh Gosh, Dorien what happened?"

As she turned to look a Dorien she audibly gasped. Obviously luck had not been with him. He was covered in soot, and even some blood. Of course Fawne had not heard about his attack, nor the other Family members that had been harmed.

Dorien Hurt - October 28, 2007 09:20 PM (GMT)
"I had a spot of trouble with sentinus a few days ago." *He answered softly. Despite the seriousness of the situation, he lookd midly amused.* "They were trying to figure out ways to kill me." *He motioned at his bare chest* "See those marks? That's when he tried to set me on fire." *He was trying to show her what the family was really like and what it was that they were really doing*

Fawne Sugarmoon - October 28, 2007 09:30 PM (GMT)
If it was possible to pinpoint the place where a person visibly pales for Fawne it would be the words after Kill. She looked rather white, and didn't at all see the amusement in the situation. Sure Dorien may still look alive except for the marks and such but it was well wrong to do those things to any person. She shook her head as if to clear her thoughts, it seemed lately she had to many conflicting ones.

She moved further away from the door, and this time choose to stand slightly closer to Dorien since his chains appeared shorter.

"They should not do that to you, you are not as monstrous as the say...How are you feeling?" her tone was not as floaty as it usually was, it seemed more earthy. She seemed to forget about the stunned shrunk ally cat in her right hand.

Dorien Hurt - October 28, 2007 09:39 PM (GMT)
"I feel like I've been dead dor a hundred and twenty one years." *He said, trying to lighten the situation.* "Actually, I'm pretty okay. It hurts where they burned me, but they're healing. My wrists are a little sore from the chains, and the body's starting to smell. To me, at least." *He amended, nodding over in the direction of the next cell. There sat a body, chained to the wall. Dorien had attacked him when he had gotten too close and they wern't sure if he would turn into a vampire or not because dorien wouldn't tell them that he wouldn't. So there it sat*

Fawne Sugarmoon - October 28, 2007 09:48 PM (GMT)
She smiled lightly at his comment of 121 years, but she visibly took a few steps away from the cell holding the body when he motioned to it. She herself could not smell a thing other than the normal smell of the cells. But the sight itself was off putting. She deliberately fixed her eyes on Dorien, she would not look at the body. She seemed to observe the flame made marks and the blood before tilting her head slightly. The Family were a lot more brutal than she had first thought.

"I would like to do anything i can to help with the healing." Her next words were even quieter than a whisper. "what they did was cruel."

She kept her eyes trained forward and her voice was louder but hushed somewhat as she spoke next.

"Are they dead?...What happened here?"

Dorien Hurt - October 28, 2007 10:03 PM (GMT)
*Dorien sighed as he looked at Fawne* "The only thing that will help the healing is feeding often, which I won't be able to do. In a decade or two you won't be able to tell it happened." *He smiled a litte, shut his eyes, then reopened them* "Sentinus was trying to kill me, I attacked, and being the loving father he is, threw someone in his place. I had to.....it's kill or be killed and everybody knows it. Now they're afraid he's changing into a vampire because I haven't told them otherwise."

Fawne Sugarmoon - October 28, 2007 10:14 PM (GMT)
She dropped rather gracefully to the floor to sit. She began to notice scorch marks in the cell. With every explanation he gave Dorien was earning her trust, after all there was evidence to support him. When he mentioned feeding she sat the miniature frozen cat on the floor within her reach not his.

"Its alive just spelled a little...I did promise you." She smiled slightly against the atmosphere which felt heavy again. But made no move to un-spell the cat yet.

"The Grand is a powerful man you know, not many can oppose him and live. Though i will admit that im pleased you did; even if you seem to attack many of the family, you have yet to harm me."
If she was a less of a dreamy girl she might have shot him a grin here or added a hint of sarcasm; as it was she just added extra melodic tones to her voice.

"Answer my question please; Dorien are they dead?"

If they weren't she was leaving them to die, and quiet possibly if they survived they could tell the Grand of her conversation with Dorien. If they weren't alive then there was nothing she can do.

Dorien Hurt - October 28, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
*Dorien looked into the cell where the man's body was chained to the wall. He looked at Fawn then and relized how he was sounding.* "Yes....he's dead." *He said softly. Then he paused and looked down at his broken body. For the first time since he was brought to the house he felt guilty. Dorien looked up at Fawne again* "I'm um........I'm sorry I dragged you into this."

Fawne Sugarmoon - October 28, 2007 11:12 PM (GMT)
She nodded when Dorein said the man was dead. At least he was no longer suffering. However she shook her head sharply, at his apology. She was refusing to accept it; though it was not out anger that she did so. She still refused to look at the body but instead she blocked it from her mind.

"You have dragged me into nothing. I am responsible for my own choices. But thank you..." She paused to look Dorien straight in the eyes.

"You did what you had too, times are harsh and i know his death is better than the treatment he would receive if turned...." She mentally added on your treatment.

Dorien Hurt - October 28, 2007 11:28 PM (GMT)
"Of course." *He said softly, looking over at the body* "It doesn't seem like it, but he's the one out of everyone that got the happy ending.* "Dorien looked down at his hands. His piano players hands. Long slender pale fingers, now burned with dirt under the fingers.* "If anyone of my kind had a happy ending we'd all be under a tombstone right now."

Fawne Sugarmoon - October 28, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
Fawne's already large eyes open wide in surprise. She could understand him not liking his life right now, but wishing for it to be over all the time seemed like a rather depressing exsitance.

"I like to belive it is worth living. There is too much to see and feel in the world to dream of being under a tombstone...the future is unknown even to a skilled seer."

She shifted forward towards Dorien, knocking over the mini cat as she did so; She appeared to be trying to show trust, sympathy or both. She wanted nothing more, than too right as this minute find a way to help him. Though for obvious reason, like her own life, she couldn't completely free him.

Dorien Hurt - October 29, 2007 12:06 AM (GMT)
"I've seen everyone I love die." *He said quietly.* "Immortality seemed like a great idea at the time untill you realize you'll be spending it alone." *He looked up from studying his hands to Fawne.* "Eventually this will all blow over. And I'll have the rest of eternity to think about it. There's no end. No break......"

Fawne Sugarmoon - October 29, 2007 12:23 AM (GMT)
She observed Dorien quietly from afar. She would admit that she couldn't comprehend what it would be like to live for ever alone. But there was other vampires was there not?

"People will always die, it is the cost of mortality..." She paused as if thinking on a memory. "You are one of the few with the ability to experience and survive this, this blood thirsty time. I would not trade places with you as i can see what this ability has cost you now, but you must not give up for in the future you knowledge could save many lives."

She smiled a little as if trying to lighten the tone before speaking in a purposefully sweeter sing song voice "Perhpas you should keep immortal company. Though i am sure they are not ones for our current surroundings."

Dorien Hurt - October 29, 2007 12:42 AM (GMT)
*He smiled a little* "I have a family." *He said quietly.* "I have a mother father, two sisters and two brothers." *He smiled a little wider as he recited the obviously rehearsed lines* "My brothers and sisters and I are all orphans. We were adopted and have lived comfortably in Yorkshire for the past two years."

Fawne Sugarmoon - October 29, 2007 04:03 PM (GMT)
Fawne watched him curisouly. His wide smile seemed off for the situation but she let it slide this once, how was she to know what goes off in a Vampires mind?

"That sounds...Wonderful"

The pause was deliberate, as if she wasn't quite sure of how she should respond to such a statement. She shifted slightly in her seated position before placing her hands in her lap; Fawne had always been one for some manners. She titlted her head to the left in observation.

"What was your life like, out there?"

Although the question posed was bluntly it held a hint of curiosity underneath the soft tones.

Dorien Hurt - October 29, 2007 07:28 PM (GMT)
*Dorien sighed nostagilically.* "I lived in Yorkshire with the man that created me. My mother is like his wife. He worked at Mungos, although I don't doubt that the other made him give up his position to come into hiding." *Dorien glanced up from the floor to Fawne to observe her reaction to the fact that there was a vampire working at St. Mungos.* "Then there's my sisters, Victoria and Alice. They have their mates, Jasper for Alice and Emmett for Victoria. We all pose as siblings. However it's always been a little lonely being the only one without a partner." *Dorien paused, collecting his thoughts.* "Then I came to Hogwarts for what must be the 12th time, acting as a student. I met a girl there that wasn't afraid of me." *He flicked a piece of dirt off of his finger.* "Most mortals have a subconsious feeling that we're dangerious and they're afraid to come near us. For obvious reasons. When the war here broke out she went into hiding with my family while I stayed to fight. And I met another girl. But I had to push her away. Seeing as I'm litterally a health hazard for her." *He explained, trying to hide the note of sadness speaking of Rogue had brought to his voice.*

Fawne Sugarmoon - October 29, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
She listened closely to every word he spoke, she decided she rather liked his voice; it was captivating but not in the same way as the Grands. Her eyes visibly widen when he mentioned a Vampire working at St. Mungos; wouldn't the temptation have been strong? However their shocked state didn't last long but something akin to pity seemed to be hidden under the misty depths.

"You have not been lucky in life or love...I am sorry my 'Family' put you here; you are perhaps kinder in heart than some of your captors." She paused, she had not expected him to tell her anything but she was glad he had; she trusted him now more than ever. Her melodic voice softened as if try to reassure him, it was all she could think of doing. Fawne was not the most sociably acute, just overly polite.

"Perhaps she realises why you did what you did? Sometimes it is better to distance people from the danger that surrounds you...And your Family and their partners; they are like you? That's why they are hiding." She didn't want to call them Vampires, for the current situation the word seemed harsh.

Dorien Hurt - October 30, 2007 02:23 AM (GMT)
"Yes." *He said quietly* "We're all vampires." *He said with a small smile* "Simon created me. Then Elizabeth, his wife. We found Alice and Victoria next, arounf the same time. Then Victoria found Emmett and not long after that Alice found Jasper." *He explained, bending his knees and leaning all his weiht against the wall. He wanted desperately to sit but his chains were too short.* "I've been around here for over a hundred years.....and none of this is getting much easier. I sould have died when I was 17. That's what was suposed to happen." *His eyes slipped shut as he spoke*

Fawne Sugarmoon - October 30, 2007 10:48 PM (GMT)
She continued to look up at him as he explained his story. She realised that he had probably not said any of this to the master, and she had no intention of ever repeating it. He had well a truly earned Fawne's trust just by trusting in her. She stood when he began to fidget and took a tentative step towards his side, side stepping the frozen cat, before she looked carefully at the Chains without touching them. However he attention snapped back to him as he mentioned his suppose to be death.

"You were dying?"
Her voice seemed a little surprised though it was hard to tell as it soon switched back to its wistful tones.
"Oh so you were turned to save you therefor you did not choose this life? I think for selfish reasons i am glad you were turned; i do believe you are the sanest person i have met lately."
Her voice spoke in full flow as she seemed to list off her thoughts one by one.
"Your family sounds delightful; though i do wonder how your sisters knew so soon who the wished to spend eternity with. It seems like a rather extraordinary decision."

She paused as if to breath before continuing, she seemed rather caught up in her own thoughts and her former reservations vanished as reached forward her delicate hands forwards to clasp at some of the chains whilst her eyes inspected them lightly. Though she seemed to carefully avoid touching Dorien.
"Are you chains tight? If you can recall anything they said whilst changing them i may be able to reverse it."

Dorien Hurt - October 31, 2007 02:58 AM (GMT)
*He shook his head.* "I'm fine....You'll be in trouble if they come back and they're shorter." *Dorien opened his eyes slowly and sighed, for the first time showing his true age through his actions* "I was dying, yes. It was the spanish influenza epidemic in the early 1900s. My creator made me out of lonliness. I was dying anyway so it didn't matter. It wasn't like there was any life being taken away form me. We were all dying...except Simon who was attacked and Alice who we found" *At the mention of his sister he thought about her statement about victoria and alice finding their soul mate* "It's eaiser for vampires to know those sorts of things. The mates and all. It's just something you...know. It's different than the human's way of going about it."

Fawne Sugarmoon - October 31, 2007 05:37 PM (GMT)
She sighed as he stated the trouble she could end up in for just altering the chains. She removed her hands from them and lightly twisted the Thestral pendant that hung permanently around her neck.

"It all sounds rather complicated to be a Vampire. I would pity you but i have the feeling that might offend you."

She was going on assumption that since she had met him, he had been nothing but outwardly strong considering his situation. Her eyes brightened and the mist of them cleared a little as she remember what he said about when he was human. She step back a little and stood still afraid she was imposing on his personal space. If Dorien couldn't sit she wouldn't either. Her heels hit the stunned cat and she realised it wouldn't be long until the effect wore off. She smiled before speaking, the unusual clarity still in her eyes.

"I think i would like to ask as to what life was like in the 1900's, if you would be inclined to answer. Though not today, I've been asking you many questions already... Oh i did find a Cat for you."

She pulled her light wood thestral hair cored wand, from her skirts belt loops and pointed it delicatly at the cat. She seemed to softly whisper the enlarging spell and even placed a silencing spell on it for good measure. Though she did not removed the stunning charm just yet.

Dorien Hurt - October 31, 2007 08:30 PM (GMT)
*Dorien smiled as she mentioned how she thought he would find pity offensive. Dorien's eyes, however, were drawn to the cat. He stood up straight from his resting position looking at the cat, the same small smile on his face* "You're right...about the pity. I hate pity." *Dorien reached for the stunned animal* "I'd be happy to tell you about it someday. What I remember."

Fawne Sugarmoon - October 31, 2007 08:35 PM (GMT)
She wasn't sure whether she should reverse the stunning spell or not but she noticed he was more then eager for the cat. She bit her bottom lip lightly and unusual action for the dreamer.

"Shall i...Would you...What i mean to ask is shall i reverse the spell first..."

She kept her wand in one hand whilst she lifted the cat by the scruff in the other. She offered the cat towards him, after all if he didn't want it un stunned he could take it. She did however have one last thing to say.

"I think i will close my eyes if the cat is fine as it is." And with that she closed her eyes fully, though not scrunched. Fawne would feel guilty if she saw the cat die.

Dorien Hurt - October 31, 2007 08:50 PM (GMT)
"Do you think you could unstun it first Fawne?" *He asked quietly. Dorien reacher out and took the cat and held it gently.* "I won't hurt it...." *He smiled a little* "You must think I really am a terrible monster."

Fawne Sugarmoon - October 31, 2007 09:04 PM (GMT)
OOC: EDITED slightly. Just what she says mainly. Sorry i didn't like it when i wrote it so i changed it a little.

IC:

She peeked open an eye like a child. And nodded her head in compliance. She twirled her wand and pointed it at the cat softly saying the Ennervate spell before letting her hand drop to her side once more. She considered his words for a moment before talking.

"No i don't think i do... Well not with a cat at least... It is natural for predators to eat prey or parts of it...I suppose... I'd just prefer to close my eyes...I think."

She spoke even softer than normal and her sentances were broken. Once finished she firmly shut her eyes once more, though still not scrunching them. It was almost as if she was blinking for a long while.

Dorien Hurt - November 1, 2007 11:42 PM (GMT)
*Dorien lightly stroaked the cat, scratching behind it's ears. It began to pur and he leaned in slowly as not to scare it. He brought it's neck to his face and bit into it neck. He fed quickly and efficently, not enjoying it at all and simply doing it in order to survive. He glanced up at Fawne as he lowered the cat away from him.* "You can open your eyes now." *He said softly*

Fawne Sugarmoon - November 1, 2007 11:58 PM (GMT)
It was strange to be an observer without seeing, she could hear the cat purring and some slight movement but nothing more until Dorien's soft voice broke the silence. She opened her left eye slowly before opening her right in the same fashion.

Her eyes seem to focus on Dorien's rather that anywhere else, she was avoiding both the dead cat and the dead body. Though at some point she'd have to get rid of the cat, she was sure she shouldn't be bringing him meals.

"Thank you... It is just...Oh i did not mean to offend... It is just that this situation is rather beyond my normal comfort zone."

In reality it was the idea of sucking something else blood that proved to be rather strange to her, a little frighting too. Her next words seemed to be a murmured soft tone to herself.

"You did not lie, thank you for not hurting the cat"

Dorien Hurt - November 2, 2007 12:24 AM (GMT)
"I don't enjoy being a monster." *He said quietly in responce to her comment about the cat* "I don't want to be like I am...I don't enjoy it." *He was a little embarassed that she's had to witness what she just had, even though she hadn't actually seen it.*

Fawne Sugarmoon - November 2, 2007 12:35 AM (GMT)
She tilted her head to the side a little as she observed Dorien. Her eyes still didn't leave his except when she blinked.

"No i don't suppose you do..." She inwardly sighed, this was rather strange for her. She couldn't call him a monster when he seemed so human. If he were cold and cruel she would consider it; but he wasn't.

"I do not believe you to be a monster; slight scary you may be but you are not a monster.." Her usual bluntness seemed to be returning.

"One cannot expect the wolf not to eat the elk..." However she would not watch him eat until she could clearly get her head around the idea.

Dorien Hurt - November 2, 2007 12:50 AM (GMT)
*Dorien smiled a little* "I thought you seemed naive at first but....You get it more than I was giving you credit for." *He commented, setting the dead cat at his feet* "I don't scare you a lot? Darn, and I thought the chains really added to the terror factor."

Fawne Sugarmoon - November 2, 2007 01:02 AM (GMT)
She smiled slightly, at least the heavy tone was lifting. Though she still did not look at the cat as he placed it down.

"Perhpas i am naive, what i know now i have only learnt through observing..." Fawne had sense buried somewhere in her mind, but she was often guilable and optimistic enough to be lead astray, all someone needed was a little of her trust.

"You are very complex, in more ways that one, and that more than anything frightens me. However it is hard to be scared of someone who holds a delightful conversation for so long..." She smiled again, a wider more friendly smile than before.

Dorien Hurt - November 4, 2007 01:22 AM (GMT)
"Well, when you've been around as long as I have, you develop a few layers to who you are." 8He commented.* "However...the conversation bit you have to work on. I know a lot of my kind that are really terrible at asimilating (sp.) But when you look 17 it's just something you need to be able to do...blend in and if the time arises, be able to talk your way out of something." *He smiled and flexed his fingers absently*

Fawne Sugarmoon - November 4, 2007 09:36 PM (GMT)
She giggled very slightly at the layered comment it was a soft musical sound much like her voice, Fawne always giggled never laughed. However she refrained form commenting until he finished speaking.

"I believe you have more than a few layers to yourself, perhaps one day i will figure them out." She almost added on 'if we both survive' but the optimist in her clashed with the bluntness and won.

She watched his movements carefully in a very curious cat like manor. And her own fingers flexed in mimicry subconsciously (SP). She was fairly tempted to reach out a touch his hand, curiosity did kill the car after all.

"You will always look this way? " she paused slightly in thought. "I suppose it is difficult to asimulate? I would think it was confusing too. I commend you Dorien, I think you've assimilated very well." She smiled here to show she wasn't being sarcastic.

Dorien Hurt - November 4, 2007 09:46 PM (GMT)
*Dorien smiled back* "We can only stay in one place for a few years. The younger we pretend to be the longer we can stay. Epically with muggles. At least with wizards we can stay for a bit longer. But then we're more susceptable to things like this." *He motioned to the rest of the room* "But we manage"

Fawne Sugarmoon - November 4, 2007 09:54 PM (GMT)
Fawne looked down at herself, as much as she liked being who she was she wasn't quite sure she would want to be 16 for ever; it would seem strange to not grow old with everyone else. Her silver eyes shot open in surprise when he said they were more susceptible.

"This" She motioned to the cell "Has happened before?...That is awful." And this she looked down in shame, this was the first time she'd felt guilty on behalf of the family and it showed, Damn Dorien. She spoke her next words even softer than usual, she sounded years older than what she was. "I am so sorry..."

Dorien Hurt - November 4, 2007 10:04 PM (GMT)
*Dorien half smiled.* "It's not you....it's just the people that you're running with right now." *He sighed* "Like I said....it'll all blow over eventually. I'll probably go into hiding after this like we had to last time...then when everyone's forgot about it we can come back out. I just miss my family.....and my piano."

Fawne Sugarmoon - November 4, 2007 10:10 PM (GMT)
Fawne raised her head lightly when he said it wasn't her, it was nice to know he wasn't mad. As bad as it was under the current circumstances she was beginning to see him as a friend and so his opinion mattered to her. She watched him sigh and wanted nothing more than do do anything to help, though she was at a lost as to what.

"This is wrong..." She did not state what exactly was wrong, the fact she was talking to him, the fact he was captured, the battle, the family? Who knew?

"I wish i knew what to do..." She sighed also fully looking up into Dorien's eyes. "I can still take a message to your family. I will not put them in danger or alert them to yours if that is what you wish...I swear it upon my soul."

Dorien Hurt - November 4, 2007 10:15 PM (GMT)
"I don't want you to.....I don't want them to worry and I don't want you to be in trouble." *He glanced away from her up to his hands chained tightly to the wall. His pianiast's hands. Hands which he had previously taken such good care of. Now they were scratched, burned, and had dirt under his nails.* "Just do what you think is right." *He looked back to her and nodded once* "Even if it could hurt people you care about.....do what you think's right."

Fawne Sugarmoon - November 4, 2007 10:25 PM (GMT)
She nodded her head in agreement, she would not attempt to contact Dorien's family. Should could understand his reasonings even if her own conflicted with his. "I believe we are all in trouble already, but i shall not contact them if that is what you wish..."

All manners were forgotten as she visibly dropped down to the floor to sit chin reseated on her hands and her dreamy look traded for a confused one.

"I do not know what is right any more...Perhpas i never did...It is not right for you to be treat like an animal. It is not right for this battle of opinions to become a war. And yet i have chosen a side already, i have followed my brother blindly into the family in hopes of supporting him...If i am confused i dare say you are...Tell me Dorien what is right?..."
