Title: The Family Assemble
Description: All Family. All Resistance
Grand Sentinus - December 27, 2007 05:48 PM (GMT)
Sentinus hovered high in the air, a bright light surrounding him - he was like a red star in a bleak sky. Millions of people gathered on the plains before him all wearing the black uniform with an orange sash dashed across their torso. It was perfection. He rolled his eyes in pleasure at the people who worshipped him like he was a God.
He felt the Elder Wand in his hand. It was if they belonged together, as one body - working together to purify the world.
They were calling his name. "Sentinus! Sentinus! Sentinus!" He smiled and tears flooded from his eyes.
They were ready. He was about to speak when a crowd, on broomsticks were soaring towards him.
Kiley Stewert - December 28, 2007 12:59 PM (GMT)
"There! I see them! Up ahead!" *Kiey shouted over her shoulder to the resistance members behind her. She bent lower on her broom, urging it to go faster. This was it. The final battle. She wondered if anyone else was feeling the same about it as she was. She looked over at Kris for his reaction, but her eyes were pulled to focus on Dorien, who was speeding up as well. She couldn't help but smile as she turned to face foward again*
*Dorien had been set free with the help of his family and Fawne the night before. It had been difficult since he had been so hungry, but his brothers had restained him the entire way just as a precaution. He had fed, and was now rational again and enjoying his freedom. He had been told, however, that he wouldn't be able to enjoy it long, because they were attacking the next day to stop Sentinus from taking over France. Because if e got France, all of Europe would follow in due time. Attacking on short notice was fine with him. After what had happened to him in captivity he was out for blood Litterally.*
Coldstone Harshing - December 28, 2007 01:08 PM (GMT)
Harshing flew a little way behind, the wind like a wetted-knife, slicing up his face like the rotten meat it was - dragonesk in a cruel glory. His wand was a saber in his hand, puncturing the air with protective spells which made the clouds hum. He laughed while his eyes paled into phosphorescence and purred when he saw the lambs to slaughter.
Kris followed. Ice cold. Ill prepared and without the heart for war.
Dorien Hurt - December 28, 2007 01:59 PM (GMT)
Dorien took a deep breath as he focused on the people down below. What if Fawne was down there? What if she got hurt? His eyes narrowed as he searched the crowd for her in vain. The pendant around his neck served as a reminder that she had helped him and now she was in danger. Dorien's sister flew up next to him*
"You okay? You look worried"
"No, I'm fine......just thinking."
*Alice nodded. She didn't believe him*
"Let's just do this, okay?"
*He swerved to get away from Alice, who he knew was right. Here they were, fighting a battle to keep the whole of Europe free from Sentinus, and he was worried about Fawne.*
Grand Sentinus - December 28, 2007 03:06 PM (GMT)
Like a demon in the sky, the Grand raised his wand way up high.
"Family! We are being stopped from spreading our message. We are being attacked!" His voice was a shriek of helplessness, despair. He hated the Resistance, their very existanted proved a weakness in his plan. He saw Harshing there and roared like a wounded animal.
"Kill them. Kill them all!"
And the Family mounted their broomsticks, a murder of crows invading the sky broken by the green lights from the Killing Curse.
Fawne Sugarmoon - December 28, 2007 05:46 PM (GMT)
Fawne was stood among the masses, hood of the black uniform pulled high over her head; she was one of those not shouting his name. Her mind was a flutter, it was only last night that she had helped free Dorien with his family and yet here she stood back among The Family. Even now, as a traitor, she had to follow orders to survive. She was not prepared for battle and it showed in the way her fingers twirled her wand nervously.
The whisper spread through the crowd, the resistance was here that was who the Sentinus meant. She tipped her head backwards, knocking down the hood and looking to the sky to glimpse there approach. Maybe Dorien was there? Was he ok? He had been so out of control before. Would he survive? He may be immortal but he could still be hurt. Her thoughts were cut short as the Sentinus' voice rang over his minions; kill them all.
"No." The quiet word had escaped her lips before she even thought about it. Prepared or not she would not work for this side any longer, she tossed the sash to the side and aimed her wand towards the nearest family grunt. For now she would keep her feet on the ground...
Flame Lestrange - December 28, 2007 07:01 PM (GMT)
The battle was on. Flame stood among the family members and did not even whisper the Grand's name. He meant nothing to her anymore, if anything her mind was twisted against him. He had gained her trust and then abused it. It hurt. She hardly trusted anyone at all because of him and those she did she was careful around.
His voice rang across those of the masses. Kill them, all of them. But her mind was set against this. She had said she'd fight for the opposite side and she meant it. She turned and started towards the Grand when many lunged for the enemy, making it look like she was going to protect him but with very different intentions.
Dorien Hurt - December 28, 2007 07:12 PM (GMT)
*Kiley pulled her wand* "NOW!" *She cscreamed, before going into a dive. In a strange way she was excited. Probably because it felt like he was playing quidditch again. Her leg throbbed terribly but she ignored it. Kiley started shouting any curse that came to mind.*
*Dorien dove on his broom as well, wishing that they were fighting on the ground instead of in the air. He had a feeling his family felt the same as wel. He concentrated on dodging spells and searching for Fawne*
Milo Scone - December 28, 2007 07:27 PM (GMT)
Milo Scone came from the opposite end of the field. He had just been in France and had set up several protections around the French Government Building both Wizard and Muggle. He had also alerted all the other European nations of Sentinus's plans. He swerved and darted into a hoard of Family, cutting his way through.
Hit. His arm was broken. He fell onto his broom and plummeted to the earth where he broke several more bones. Blood rushed out of him and he could feel its sticky warmth. He watched the peril up in the sky with mild bewilderment.
---
Those who attacked Harshing were dead men. They came at him in groups yet were sent back by a combination of complex magic and an innate fear of the Dark wizard turned goodguy. His wand moved in fluid motions and his mind was ordering a list of spells in which to use, ever thinking up of more complex magics. He held the barrier around him with another stream of consciousness and another was keeping an eye on other Resistance members. He noticed Flame. He hoped she had listened to him.
Flame He sent forth a mental communication to her using the art of Mensmagic. Flame, remember your loyalties
Flame Lestrange - December 28, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
She was moving quickly through the crowds, seeming not to care about her own life anymore. This was like a suicide attempt. Facing the Grand would not be easy, but she'd do it. If she died it would be for a good reason. Harshing reached her mentally and she frowned, she knew her loyalties and they were not with the Grand. She pulled her new wand from her pocket. Expelliarmus A silent expelliarmus, aimed towards the Grand.
Grand Sentinus - December 28, 2007 07:48 PM (GMT)
The Grand was enjoying the view, a bloodbath in his favour. Then he felt his wand move slightly then he watched it spin in the air and into the boggy field before him. His eyes lit up with despair, he dived down and into the filth, rooting through dirt and mess to find it. He fingered through sludge, his heart beating, his brow pouring with sweat. "Come to me...." he hissed under his breath. "Come to me..."
Kiley Stewert - December 28, 2007 08:39 PM (GMT)
*Kiley sent a spell at someone that was coming at her from the side. His broom exploded beneath him and he was sent plummetting towards the earth. Her arm was bleeding and there was blood all over her broom, making it hard to hold.*
*Dorien had flown over to the family's side, looking for Fawne. Once someone had flown too close to him and he had snapped his neck with one hand without a thought. Finally he saw someone that appeared to be Fawne. Forgetting himself, he yelled to her* "FAWNE!"
Fawne Sugarmoon - December 29, 2007 12:11 AM (GMT)
Fawne had believed staying on the ground would be the safer option but she had been proved to be wrong; she had been forced to attack when only defending had failed her. The failure having earned her a few bruises and scratches along with a small cut on her hair line that trickled blood down her face and large bruise on the right side of her waist where she hit the floor after a blasting spell hit her.
Due to this new attack approach she had switched to using what ever spells she could spring to mind, aiming not to kill but immobilise. She moved through the crowd with purpose now, eyes aiming upwards every so often looking for Dorien, thoughts of her brother not even crossing her mind. Her gaze broke from the sky when another grunt crossed her path. Without blinking she flicked her wand gracefully, murmuring a series of spells and suddenly the family member was stunned and stuck to the floor. Sticking charms and offensive spells worked quite well, it kept them down and nobody really expected it of her.
Her attention on the fight however was quickly lost when she heard her name shouted. She knew his voice well, even surrounded by noise. She whipped around eyes scanning the ground for him, soft voice attempting to rise above the crowd.
"Dorien?"
Dorien Hurt - December 29, 2007 12:29 AM (GMT)
*As soon as he was somewhat near the ground, (somewhat being about 15 feet) Dorien threw himself off the broom and onto the ground. It shook with the force of the impact from his body.* "Fawne!" *He ran to her, trailing his broom. He stopped once he got to her.* "Fawne, I didn't get a chance to talk to...." 8Someone ran up to them, wailing and screaming curses. With a flick of his hand the man was on the ground. He turned back to Fawne without paying the man another thought* "I didn't get a chance to talk to you after last night.......are you alright?" *Of course she's not okay.* "We should go......you're in danger..."
Fawne Sugarmoon - December 29, 2007 02:02 AM (GMT)
Despite being on the battle field where broken bodies little the floor she smiled at him, properly, when she saw his running form. The only sign of her acknowledge the man he casually disposed was a blink of her eyes. Although the battle was hard her serene countenance could not be moved, currently at least. She brushed the small trickle of blood from her fore head as she spoke.
"I am mostly unscathed...What of you Dorien?" She lifted her wand with an elegant twist and pointed it somewhere over Dorien's shoulder, towards a wizard who was beginning to notice a resistance member on the ground. Being caught off guard the mans body locked into place with the first jinx and was sent flying with the next.
"You are not leaving though are you? If you will stay till the end then so shall i..."
Dorien Hurt - December 29, 2007 02:10 AM (GMT)
"I....." *He glanced to the blood on her forehead for a second then forced his gaze back to her eyes* "I can't fight...can't concentrate, when I think that there's a chance of you being harmed." *He said, taking a step closer to her His eyes were wild, but not the dark black they had been for so long. They were a light butterscotch now.* "Please Fawne."
Fawne Sugarmoon - December 29, 2007 02:25 AM (GMT)
She took a small step forward as reached her spare hand towards him. She grasped one of his hands with hers and squeezed it gently as if to reassure him she was there, all traces of a smile gone form her face but a soft look in her eyes.
"I will fight beside you then, where i am safest for i can not leave you to fight here. I will not be at peace if i do." If she left now, how ever hard that would be to accomplish, she would only fret over what was happening and how Dorien was.
Dorien Hurt - December 29, 2007 02:31 AM (GMT)
*Dorien thought over it for a moment* "Alright...that would be the safest for you....." *Someone started towards him again. Dorien whipped out his wand and slashed it through the air. The man fell down amongst the others* "Come on then." *He held onto her hand and pulled her with him as he got his broom in a decent position. He mounted it, leaving room for her to sit in front of him* "I hate flying." *He murmered*
Fawne Sugarmoon - December 29, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
She smiled slightly as he agreed and pulled her through the crowds. She would not be able to stand by if he were to be captured again and now she could make sure she wouldn't be. She watched with indifference as he made another man fall to the ground, the effect having being lost after about the fifth body she saw fall at the very start of the fig. She pointed her wand quickly at the body and charmed the body to stick to the floor, just in case. She reluctantly pulled her hand from his to hitch up the family robe as she climbed onto the broom in front of him.
"Flying is not so awful in the end...Dorien...Thank you..."
Dorien Hurt - December 29, 2007 03:06 AM (GMT)
"Flying's not so awful Dorien." He mocked, grinning slightly as he kicked off the groundand went soaring into the air. Almost immediatly Dorien's broom was surrouded by his family.*
"Dorien, what are you doing?" *Hissed victoria.*
"She helped me ascape, I'm not going to let her get hurt."
"This isn't the time to be impressing a girl, mate." *Said Jasper, good hearted as always*
*Dorien started foward on his broom but was cut off but Alice.* "Dorien."
"Move Alice." *He snarled, flying out around them* :Sorry...he mrmered to Fawne in her ear from behind her where he sat.*
Grand Sentinus - December 29, 2007 10:19 AM (GMT)
Men fell from the sky like birds, the tiny resistance seemed to be winning. And all the while Sentinus fumbled in the cess pits trying to find his Elder Wand. "Come to me!" He roared at the top of his voice, as if trying to call out to the wand. He saw something shine. The wand. He crawled to it and held it in his hands for a moment, cradling it like a nurse to a babe.
He shot a comet sized ball of light into the sky which exploded and turned the sky red. "Blood will have blood, I say blood will have blood."
He was about to take flight when a dark figure stood before him. Harshing.
The Duel commenced. An exchange of silver lights, advanced spells at lightning speed. The Grand panted for air but finally used the power of the Elder wand to restrain Harshing on the ground.
"No one deserts the Grand Sentinus of Merlin!" He raised his wand and began to torture the great Coldstone Harshing.
Flame Lestrange - December 29, 2007 10:39 AM (GMT)
The rules surrounding the elder wand were well known- if you disarmed the owner when they were using it, rightfully it belonged to you. She had, in a way, just won it, she just needed to get hold of it now. Eyes were narrow and she watched as the grand began to torture Harshing. That was it, a spark she had needed, an incentive to once again disarm the man and this time, get to the wand first. But there were many ways she may do that. Maybe, however, she would try something else first. "Accio elder wand." It was rightfully hers, it should come to her.
Grand Sentinus - December 29, 2007 10:45 AM (GMT)
OOC: But because the Grand got hold of it he effectively repossessed the Elder Wand from Flame.... else every time someone disarms someone the wand is theres which isnt the case in the books else Harry would now own hundreds of wands.
Flame Lestrange - December 29, 2007 10:49 AM (GMT)
ooc: I know, this is Flame trying to get more power. She likes power. lol.
Grand Sentinus - December 29, 2007 10:52 AM (GMT)
OOC: Lol.
BIC:
But the wand did not move from the Grand's hand and this time he detected where it came from. He turned and there was Flame. A dozen dead bodies separated them. Whilst maintaining Harshing's capture he sent a binding curse at her. "Flame. How could you leave me? I have been so kind to you." Ropes left his wand and headed towards Flame, desperate to coil around her body.
Flame Lestrange - December 29, 2007 10:55 AM (GMT)
The wand didn't move. She felt terrible. She really wanted that wand, she knew the power it would bring her. She could be great, the first dark witch to rule her own group. So far it had always been men, and she didn't like that. She didn't see the curse and once it had hit her, she had no way to avoid the ropes. "Kind? You call rape kind?" she spat.
Grand Sentinus - December 29, 2007 10:59 AM (GMT)
"Yes, you had the honour of my children, to continue a line of Great Wizards, to preserve the Family doctine. And now, there is nothing." He fisted his hand and aimed a punch at her face. "You little slut. You were ungrateful for everything I gave you. You could have been the queen at my side, you could have sat on my throne of the world. You could have shared my powers..."
He was not laughing, he was shouting his words it ferocity. "You deserve to die. But not today. I want you to watch your friends die at the great hand of the Family and then I shall kill your father."
"Weakness," he spat.
Flame Lestrange - December 29, 2007 11:08 AM (GMT)
Flame stared at him, venom in her eyes. Hatred, a lust to kill him, a need to hurt him, they were all mounting up within her. The wind toyed with her hair and, as much as she wanted to, she knew she could not escape, could do nothing.
"The life you wanted me to lead was not a good one." her breathing was heavy, and with each word the intensity was growing- the power within her was taking over. "Child after child after child. I wouldn't have enjoyed it. You know I wouldn't." He hit her. Blood poured from her nose but a cold smirk spread across her features. "Resorting to muggle violence now, are you? And you call yourself a god. You are nothing. You think you are powerful, almighty, but it's the wand, not you, that is so."
He spoke, she laughed. Now the power was completely in control. "Who needs your powers? I have my own." she tried to prise free the ropes with no luck. "There would have been no time for me to sit on a throne, I would not have been as queen, I would have been lowered to a mere breeding thing."
"My father? Who is it? I have no idea." Even now she nkept up the act she knew nothing- harshing was not her father, that was what he had said. he was by blood but not by love. "You are the weak one."
Fawne Sugarmoon - December 29, 2007 01:00 PM (GMT)
Fawne hadn't said a word when his family had protested. They were right in some respects; it was less safe as a pair, they presented a better target. However he wouldn't let her fight on the ground and she wasn't leaving him here to fight on his own.
"It is alright, they are only concerned for you..." She blinked and point her wand straight down, saying dreamily the charm for a jet of water. The family member on the broom had not been expecting that and simply fell from the air. She looked around the ground, from this height she could see the resistance was wining. "The resistance is wining!" her voice took on a happy childlike quality as she realised the battle situation.
Dorien Hurt - December 29, 2007 01:08 PM (GMT)
"My family's not concerned for my well being, they're concerned for yours." He corrected her, steering the boom so they were facing the other way. He sent out a few curses at the on coming Family members. He said them so fast that his lips only appeared to vibrate.* "How many people trust a vampire enough to let him sit behind them like this? Not many. They're afraid that after what they saw of me last night that I won't be able to take this. Espically if you were to get hurt and start bleeding." *He looked around at the chos that surrounded them. There were so many dead....how could she tell who was winning?"
Grand Sentinus - December 29, 2007 04:14 PM (GMT)
Sentinus was loosing it, he was roaring like a wild boar, killing random Family members with his bare hands. He picked up Harshing. "This filth is your father. This filth who tried to tame me with his feeble Mind Magic. This filth who failed."
---
Harshing had said nothing as of yet. He stared into the mania of Sentinus's eyes. "Release me. And my daughter." His eyes turned red but no more words were exchanged. A great coldness overcame him. He looked up towards the sky and a black mass was heading towards them. Colder. Colder. Soon Harshing was freezing.
"The Dementors have come," Harshing whispered, not sure whether to celebrate or grieve.
Fawne Sugarmoon - December 29, 2007 11:41 PM (GMT)
"Perhaps but i trust you and I have not be seriously hurt. You have not caused me any harm." She had a small half smile on her face, though due to the fact he was sat behind her it was likely he wouldn't see it. She had made him a promise to keep her guard and she had been, he had not caused her any harm yet. Frightened her a little but nothing more.
"I believe that i need to learn some proper spells for this, just for the future..." She pointed her wand towards the end of a broom stick, knowing the rider to be of the family she set the branches on fire. She was not a dueler and did not know the spells to be one.
She didn't really get to say much more after her attack because shortly after the dementors were arriving and needless to say she reacted like most would...
Flame Lestrange - December 30, 2007 10:59 AM (GMT)
Sentinus was loosing it, which is what she wanted. He would lose concentration and then, perhaps, she could escape the predicament she was in. Smile was prominent on her features now.
He picked Harshing up and Flame frowned, as if she knew nothing of what he was talking about. She had no time to speak, Harshing spoke for her, before the great cold. Flame didn't see it immediately, but Harshing told her what was going on. She needed to escape, if only to protect the Grand while protecting herself.
