*Logan sat on his couch wrapped in a blanket. there were dirty dishes in the sink and clothes on the floor. He had candles lit since his electricity had been shut off, and it was making the room hot. His hair was sticking to his forehead, but he had been warned on pain of death not to get cold, so he didn't remove the blanket. Logan closed his eyes and sighed into the silence, just as he head the lock on the door unlock. It had to be Mei, he told himself. either her or his mother, and he really hoped it wasn't the later.*

Mei grumbled to herself as she fiddled with the key to Logan's apartment. groceries under one arm. Her short frame bustled through the door, locking it behind her; if only to assure herself that his mother wasn't going to turn up. She turned to look into the flat and immediately noticed the candles. It seemed weird even for Logan.

"Wow is dark in here...Logan?"

She attempted to make her way towards the largest source of light, the living room, just down the little hallway. All the apartments were pretty much the same.

"I'm in here." *He called, standing up. He squinted and saw that Mei was carrying groceries. thank God. He was starving. Logan's legs felt weak but he ignored them. Probably another side effect of all the medications he was on now. Logan shivered as tossed the blanket away, cold now that he had been sweating.* "Good, food I'm starving."

Upon noticing the fact he wasn't sat down or wrapped up she visible scowled. Once her eyes had adjusted to the candle light properly she down right glared. The place was a mess, it was probably making him worse. She sighed and dropped one bag at the kitchen door before pushing past dirty clothes to get into the living room, she stood silently in the door way shooting daggers before speaking.

"Logan if i count to three and your not sat on that couch i will hurt you, and you will be going back to mungos for skelegrow...This place is a mess, at this rate you'll be sleeping on my couch." She twisted the handles of the second bag in her hand, this one giving off the aroma of hot food; take out.

"That wouldn't be that bad." *He said, obediently going back to the couch so she'd let him have take out.* "At least you have electricity." *Logan looked up at her once he had said it, mentally smacking himself. Great. Now she'd be really mad at him.*

She held the bag behind her as if denying him the food before her answered. She did not move form the door way as she spoke though he glare did lesson slightly once he sat down.

"Why do you not have power? What have you been eating with nothing to cook with, what have you been wearing for that matter?... I said i'd help you know..." She kicked a dirty top with the corner of her foot and a took a few steps further into the room.

"I forgot to pay the bill. It was due while I was till in Mungos." *He shrugged and reached out for the food* "I'm just about out of clothes. I ordered a pizza a few days ago, but I had to throw most of that out since I couldn't really keep it cold. And I had some canned stuff that I ate cold. I'm hungry. Gimme food."

She eyed him suspiciously but she could almost visualise a starving Logan in her minds eye, and so she slowly handed over the bag of take out.

"Chinese of course. Just don't tell your mum." She perched herself on the very edge of the couch as if giving Logan the rest of the room to relax. Her eyes wandering around the apartment.

"You either let me clean this place up, or your not staying here anymore. Its probably making you worse...I hate going to Hogwarts whilst your ill."

*Logan took the food from her and pulled it close, pulling the cartons open as quickly as possible. Logan grabbed a plastic fork from the bottem of the bag and started shoveling down food, hardly tasting it. It burned his still-sore throat, but it didn't matter* "You know..." *He said, speaking with his mouth full* "I think I need to be going back to work soon anyway."

Mei watched him, amusement showing through as her annoyance lessened. At least he seemed to be getting better now. Maybe now they could be proper friends again, though she really hoped nothing else went wrong.

"Me too, other wise i'll steal you're job. They've had me writing some cover lessons for you. Stupid meanies, DaDA is nothing like CoMC." Mei giggled as she used the abbreviations, she felt like a kid again .She damned Logan silently also, not matter how mad she was he only had to be himself to get her to laugh.

*Logan smiled.* "No, I'd imagine not." *He continued to scarf down food* "Yes, I must be going back soo." *He shivered and pulled off his t-shirt, which was soaked in sweat. He ran his hands over his arms and sighed* "Mei, I wanna get another tattoo." *He stated, setting the food aside and laying back down on his couch*

She stared at the visible tattoos, curiosity causing her to wander just how many he had now. Feisty as she was she was not the type of person to outrightly ask, some tattoos were personal.

"Sure why not? The question is where..." She turned her head, being perched on the very edge of the sofa, so her eyes could scan down his arms as if looking for a spot. Suddenly a look of realisation crossed her eyes and she burst into hysterical laughter. Nearly jolting herself onto the floor.

"Logan, why do you seem to spend most of your time half naked?"

*Logan laughed as well* "It's hot in here. I can't help it that you just happen to always be around when I'm not fully dressed. And besides..." *He flexed his muscles and grinned. It was quite an effort to do so, but he did it anyway, relaxing after only a moment* "It would be a sin not to show it off."

She grinned and laughed loudly once more her nature showing through as bright laughs filled the room. This new bout of laughter having being cause by him flexing his muscles.

"I just think you like being half naked, more like a cave man no? I mean you turn up at my door in boxers, lounge around shirt less." She wiggled her finger at him in a mock manner "You do not see me walking around half naked, the concept is called dignity." She laughed once more, please with the gentle banter that had returned to their friendship.

*Logan laughed as well and stretched his arms over his head, still grinning* "I have no dignity...after knowing me for as long as you have you should know that by now....No dignity what-so-ever....and I absolutely love being naked." *He was just kidding about the last part, saying it to make her laugh* "And I believe you love me being naked just as much."

She smiled through out his little speech about lack of dignity. None of them had been dignified in Hogwarts. However when his last comment reached her ears she full out laughed, a bright loud laugh that she had not used in quiet some time. Even her voice was tinted with mirth as she spoke.

"Oh yes that was exactly what was on my christmas list."she made quotation gestures in the air with her hands before continuing. "'Dear Santa, this year for Christmas i would like...to see Logan naked. Thanks muchly Mei' I'm sorry to say it Logan but its you who loves your naked-ness."

*Logan laughed as well.* "I'm no the only one......my girl friend likes ie.....if I had a girlfriend......if she hadn't dumped me....for standing her up....because I was with you, and she was convinced we were lovers......" *He sighed and grinned with his eyes closed*

She scratched the back of her neck out of nervous habit, she remembered that girlfriend. That had been messy though similar things had happened before. Loyalty before lovers, or something daft like that. She grinned sheepishly and her bright tones faltered for a moment.

"Yes, well...She was a bimbo anyway..." She paused only slightly, the comment was not malice filled but it seemed odd from Mei. "Besides were not lovers just, whats the term for it, friends with benefits" She grinned and laughed to show she was trying to make light of the situation. And the joke was just that, a joke.

*Logan grinned* "Friends with benifits. That's exactly the right way to put it." *Logan opened his eyes and looked up at her. He had a look like he was holding something back.* "I was in the school today. Actually, I was on my way to see you to continue with our secret love afair....and I stopped in the room of requirement....and there was this girl there...." *His voice trailed off as he waited for her reaction*

If she'd been looking at Logan she'd have noticed his guilt right away but unfortunately she had not. Her mind didn't fully measure the words for what they were till she had already begun to reply.

"Well yes i would imagine there were girls there, it is after all a sch..." then it sunk in. "I really hope you met a visitor to Hogwarts, i mean the eldest students are barely 17." Her voice was neither condemning nor amused, it was strangely neutral as if she was testing the water with her interpretation of her words, she too seeming to hold something back.

"Her name's Jenna.....Jenna Wright. She's a hufflepuff....7th year." *He paused and smiled guiltly* "She liked my tattoos...." *He sat up.* "She has blonde hair, blue eyes......maybe you've had her in class." *He twisted the blanket between his hands, waiting to be repremanded*

She nodded her head at his accurate conclusion that she'd been in one of her classes. She remembered Jenna vaguely but all that mattered now was the fact she was a student...

"Logan you could get fired if you do anything. God you haven't have you?..." she sighed, her voice was the worried tone not the angry one. "Just be careful alright"

"No, I haven't done anything! I said that we just met. Jesus.....you make it seem like I'm some sort of man whore or something." *He had to work not to laugh at that* "And I know I could get fired." *He paused* "But......I dunno. She's nice. I like her."

"Man whore would be terming it lightly Logan" she shot him a grin to show the comment was malicious, however that was the lightest her reaction got before she narrowed her eyes at him and sighed loudly.

"I like my students but i have no intention of jumping into there pants. Which Logan when it comes down to it, is what a student teacher relationship would be...Besides there are plenty of witches your age around, i mean try going out a little...Its less likely to ruin your life it that relationship goes sour..."

*Logan sighed and leaned back into the couch. His arms were crossed over his chest and he was glaring at him. She was right, of course. She was always right. And it annoyed him to no end.* "Look. I know I don't have the best track record for deep, long lasting, healthy, intellectual relationships.....but I'm not going to force her into anything. I'm just gonna let things be and happen how they do." *He wasn't sure if he was just saying that or if he really intended on following through with what he was telling her*

She crossed her arms also, almost like it was a battle of childish behaviour. Her eyes were still narrowed and her mouth pulled into a frown. It was of course none of her business what he did but he could expect her to pick up the pieces later on.

"You know what, do what you like but i will not play your conscience any more. All it does is make you mad at me. Beside you know right from wrong, sometimes..." Her voice held a tone of finality to it, like she'd had a enough. Which she had, lately all she'd done besides teach was worry about Logan. And right now she could do with a good strong drink and a nice rest.

"You like dealing with my problems." *He muttered, looking down, obviously unable to let her have the last word. After he spoke, arms still crossed over his chest, he looked back up at her like a little kid to see if he was in trouble to see if she was mad at him for retorting. Truthfully, he liked talking to her about everything. She was really all he had.*

Surprisingly enough she didn't get mad at him for retorting, she had expected it on some levels. Having done nothing much but argue with him lately. There was some serious tension between the two after recent events, she had hoped it would dwindle down. She cared for him a lot but even she had limits. Sighing she unfolded her arms and wrung her hands together in her lap, looking a lot like she used to in school when under stress.

"Maybe i do Logan, maybe its because i care. But you'd be pretty screwed if i didn't like sorting out your problems, because your a self destructive jerk."

"I have other people that I could talk to." He muttered in the same way, unable to admit to her how much he appriciated her* "I could manage......" *He spoke normally now, although he didn't look at her* "There are people a lot worse than me you know."

"Oh i don't know if there is, i mean most people don't throw there friends help back in their faces..." She stood up now, her hands dangling limply at her sides but her fists clenched into balls. She looked hurt and annoyed a strange mix.

"You know what, cram it you stupid meanie. Now if you don't mind I'm off to go be self destructive and find a bar" She raised her figure up to her full height, which wasn't a lot, and stormed towards the living room door in a very childish manner. Oh yes she was going out to get very drunk, because right now she felt so damn tense.

"Wait, wait wait wait wait, Mei...." *He had jumped off the couch and followed her to the doo. Logan had slipped on a shirt in the middle of the floor but regained his ballence before he fell. He got to the door and put a hand on it to keep her from opening it.* "Don't go...please?" *What he would really love was to go with her but he figured she wouldn't like that idea*

Mei looked absolutely livid, she could by all rights just apparate, she had her wand with her after all. But she didn't; mainly because she was just far to soft on Logan.

"Why? Like you said i have nothing to do but meddle in your life so i might as well get out of your hair no? You have other friends. Like Miss. Hufflepuff." She sounded more hurt than annoyed and it was obvious that somewhere in the past argument she had gotten very stressed.

"Mei, don't. Please?I'm sorry. I didn't mean any of that....." *He let his hand slide down off the door as he took a step closer to her, pleading with his eyes* "You know you're the only person who can tolerate me.....don't leave like this.....Please?" *After being an only child, Logan knew how to get what he wanted...beg and plead and appologizer and be sweet.. It normally worked. And he did feel bad about what he'd said*

She folder her arms across her chess and averted her eyes from his, he had already won since she was still here but she wasn't going to make ti easy one him, and she wouldn't be stopping for long because she really needed that drink. She sighed wistfully before speaking in a very controlled level tone.

"You don't need me now, and you didn't back then. I'm surrogate sister when mothers not around, and the person who picks up pieces because really inside shes too damn soft to say no. I'm your friend Logan i don't have to tolerate you, it came in the package."

"Mei..." *He paused as if he was seaking for the right words or waiting to have her full attention* "You're my best friend, and you know it. You're not a surrogate sister when I don't have my mom here.....you act like I'd rather spend time with her over you." *He made a gagging noise and smiled, hoping to make her laugh*

she sighed and slid down the door, so she was sat on the floor with her knees under her chin and her arms wrapped around her legs a small smile on her face at his joke. Obviously she was staying for at least a little longer now, Her voice was less sad when she spoke but still not as bright as usual.

"you're a fool but i love you for it...Though you need to tell me when you don't want my help rather then let us argue about it. right?"

In reality she supposed she was at fault for being controlling in the first place, but that was Mei. Being feisty came along with the trait on being bossy to some extent.

"no, I do want your help..." *He slid down the opposide wall and sat the same way as her* "Just becasue I don't listen doesn't mean that I don't value your opinion." *He grinned*

She rolled her eyes at him and smiled, feeling slightly less hurt though still a little peeved at the whole argument.

"Well value your own opinion then and i can keep mine to myself and i don't have to listen to your yapping...If you want to" she paused slightly as if choosing her words carefully "date a student, go ahead but i take no responsibility for anything that happens because of it."

*Logan sighed dramatically and let his head fall back against the wall with a clunk.* "Nothing is going to happen....it's not as if this will be the only drama happening here. You can't possibly forget all the drama that went on when we were in school?" *He raised his eyebrows questioningly*

She scoffed openly before giggling; back when they attended Hogwarts drama had been life. She sat forward and spoke in a mock offended tone.

"What Drama? our school years were perfectly normal..."

Aside form all the mischief and drama, oh and the pranks, professors other students...The list went on and on.
