Title: Plays
Coldstone Harshing - December 28, 2007 01:04 PM (GMT)
Hi, just a place where we can discuss plays we are in, reading or have recently seen. As people may know I want to be an actor when I'm older so the more play discussion, the better.
Plays I'm in:
Importance of Being Earnest - Wilde
What the Butler Saw - Orton
Les Miserables - Boubil
Plays I'm Reading/Working on
The Cherry Orchard - Chekhov
A Woman of no Importance - Wilde
Our Country's Good - Wertenbaker

No, Adam, Les Mis is by Schonberg AND Boublil. :P
I just finished with-
The Crucible (Miller)
And soon I will be starting-
Anything Goes (Porter)
Yup. I might be doing Alice and Wonderland too, but it's sort of up in the air right now.

Two I just recently finished are :
Deathtrap(Levin)
and
A Christmas Carol( two nun ladies who should have never gotten into play writing because this script was terrible)

I just finished Equus
It was really good, completely different from anything that I've read before.

I'd really like to read that.
I just finished being in The Miracle Worker (Gibson, I think)
Not reading any plays; I'm reading The Picture of Dorian Gray (Wilde) and The Stand (King), both of which are novels.
I'm not in anything right now.
I'm Assistant Directing Guys and Dolls after break is over. Which I'm beyond excited about. Technically it's a musical. But oh well. Same difference.

I couldn't get into Dorian Gray at all - I prefer Wilde's plays.

Yeah, i'm finding it really hard to get into. Wilde's so long winded....he just goes on and on and on and on and on. Which is why I'm finishing up the stand. I have like, 350 pages left.

I have a crate of lines to learn and its getting bigger and bigger and bigger. Last rehearsal I messed up the lines... beyond humiliating - it lead to utter embarrassment and I never recovered.
