Title: The Dementor's Converge

Grand Sentinus - December 29, 2007 04:16 PM (GMT)
They spiraled up towards the heavens then bolted down, one at a time like fallen angels. They ripped into the hoard of orange and black and kissed any who were in their way. People fell by their thousands while a deep icy chill set in.

Sentinus looked up above. "Beasts!" They had no motive, they were animals, they were killing anything that moved.

"We have no chance."

"He turned to Flame. Conjure a patronus quickly!"

Kiley Stewert - December 29, 2007 08:47 PM (GMT)
*Kiley felt the dementors before she saw them. She dove down on her broom towards the ground. The blood loss from her arm was already making her a bit light headed, so she didn't want to push her luck by being in the air with the dementors. She tried to push through the haze and think of a happy memory. Weston proposing. No, he died shortly afterwards. Kris kissing her. No, he was acting strange since his family was killed. Beating the family? It wasn't exactly a memory, but it was a thought, and the prospect of it filled her up completely with hope. It would have to do. She drew her wand and shouted the spell at the top of her voice* "EXPECTO PATRONUM!" *She had been practicing recently, and the thought was so happy and good that it worked on the first try. A silver wolf burst through the end of her wand and lept around her, it's teeth barred, protecting her from the dementors. She concentrated on the thought as she ran foward, her broom abandoned, and was immediatley emmersed in a duel with a haggard family member. The wolf's color diminished slightly as kiley fought, but stayed by her all the same. In the back of her mind it occured to her that the day was almost over, and nightfall was coming on fast. It was a full moon that night. How ironic.

The family member fell to the ground, his entire body stiff save for his eyes. Kiley stepped on him on her way past to continue the fight.*

Fawne Sugarmoon - December 30, 2007 12:06 AM (GMT)
She had never faced dementors before and so she wasn't quiet prepared for the effect of them. It was the coldness that got her first, And without a though for balance on the broom she wrapped both her arms around her middle; a protective and nervous gesture she had always had.

It was when they actually got closer that her serene demeanor cracked completely, though she did not scream. The effect of them being so close caused the blurred images of her fathers death to cross her mind; the blood mostly. She had not really seen anything being so young, but the fear pieced together enough to make a blurred replay. She squeezed her sides and her soft voice was not longer melodic in quality but just weak.

"Stop it..."

Dorien Hurt - December 30, 2007 01:08 AM (GMT)
*Dorien didn't really feel them the same way as everyone else. It didn't effect him as much. He wrapped one arm around Fawne to keep her on the broom and put the other one on the handle in front of her , forcing her down with his body over hers, protecting her* "It's alright...You're going to be okay....." *He took a deep breath and turned the broom back to the ground. They had to get down before she fell. After a moment they had reached the ground. Dorien, once again, jumped from the broom, this time holding onto Fawne. He abandoned the broom and set her down, drawing his wand* "Are you alright? Can you stand?" *He wasn't exactly sure....he was afraid to let her go.*

Fawne Sugarmoon - December 30, 2007 01:25 AM (GMT)
She had not said a word as he landed the broom, only continue to grasp her sides causing pain to shoot through the bruise and squeeze her eyes shut like it would block the world out. As they got further away from the dementors and close to the ground some of the images lessened though not completely, since that was the creatures effect. Although being placed down on the ground she was rather glad he hadn't let go, because she wasn't all that sure she would be able to do anything.

"They are horrid, evil, creatures..."

At least on the floor she seemed capable of coherent speech and the thought that she really wished she knew how to stop thoose things. She blinked open her eyes, which were almost swimming in unshed tears and unclasped her arms, within a moment she had attempted to fling them round Dorien in some form of hug. Like she was trying to prove he was there.

Dorien Hurt - December 30, 2007 01:45 AM (GMT)
*Dorien held onto her, careful not to hold on too tightly and hurt her. The thought of hurting her truely pained him in a way that wasn't exactly familiar. Normally, the smell of her fear combined with the stench of blood would have acused him problems. But right now all that mattered was that Fawne was alright* "I can crry you. He offered, hoping she would accept. If he was carrying he he would be able to profect her fully and run away from danger much quicker.* "You're very pale, Fawne."

Fawne Sugarmoon - December 30, 2007 02:21 AM (GMT)
She continued to hold onto him like a life line, glad he was there and no longer even thinking about her promises. Images were swarming her vision every time her eyelids closed. She was just glad sounds no longer accompanied them. The one good thing about the dementors was the fact everyone was now semi-distracted from killing each other. She murmured a noise that was neither an yes nor a no to his question before murmuring a seemingly random sentence.

"Every time i shut my eyes it is there..."

She wondered vaguely if the others could fend of dementors, but then she realised that they had all likely learnt the spell at some point. Where she had not, after all she was only a 5th year.

Dorien Hurt - December 30, 2007 02:34 AM (GMT)
*Dorien took that as a yes. He picked her up and swung her onto his back* "I'm going to need you to hold on as tight as you possibly can, alright Fawne?" *He said as he started running through the field to find a place farther from the dimentors. Dorien was beginning to feel their effect as well. The caused him physical pain....a mirror of the pain he had felt when he had first been changed. He tried to push past that and think of a happy memory. When he had one, he conjured a Patronus. It was a horse that galloped around them, warding of dementors*

Grand Sentinus - December 30, 2007 10:54 AM (GMT)
Plot Point: A Full moon burst from the sky.

OOC: Ki, wanna change now?

Flame Lestrange - December 30, 2007 11:04 AM (GMT)
Flame watched the black figures ripping through the crowd, kissing hundreds on their way. Even Sentinus knew he stood no chance now, and he was turning to his enemies for help. In this instance, enemies meant Flame. She'd turned against him and he knew it, but she needed to protect herself and her father, even if that meant protecting Sentinus aswell.

"EXPECTO PATRONUM!" she roared, thinking of times she had spent with her cousin, when she had been happier than ever before and never since. A silver burst from her wand took shape, a snake. What had she expected? Nothing more or less than just that. She was true Slytherin.

Kiley Stewert - December 30, 2007 02:38 PM (GMT)
ooc: yeah, I was gonna do that in my next post anyway. lol

ic:

*Kiley looked up into the sky to see how bad the dementor situation really was just in time to witness the moon's unveiling from the clouds. Her wand slipped from her hand and she screamed, her head falling back. After a moment of agony, kiley's screamed turned into a howl. The howl of a werewolf. She had been prepared for this and taken her wolfsbane to keep the resistance members safe, but any party member was fair game. Kiley wondered if Sentinus had known that tonight was a full moon.

Kiley ran through the crowd, glad to not be her human self. It kept her from feeling the same with the dementors around and kept the dementors from really detecting her. She crouched and snarled, her teeth showing and the hackle on the back of her neck raised. She had spotted Sentinus.*

Grand Sentinus - December 30, 2007 04:24 PM (GMT)
"Cure the filth," he hissed, his whole body shaking with rage. "Purge the mess. Control the beasts," he recited another dozen slogans, each one with more fear and hate. The werewolf infront of him was a symbol of everything he detested. One had killed his sister, one had dared to kill his pure blood. He cried like a baby, he was that boy again in the cage, watching his sister. Tear. Tear. Tear.

And blood was on his face.

He fell into the ground, his neck wet with tears. He pointed his wand at the werewolf but he could not muster the energy for a spell. He could not even speak.

Eventurally something came. "Purge the filth. Purge the filth. Purge. Purge."

Kiley Stewert - December 30, 2007 04:33 PM (GMT)
*Kiley watched as Sentinus fell. After all that he had done to her and the people like her, she couldn't bring herself to attack him wheil he was down. She was better than that. That was sort of the point. Kiley decided that she would rather Sentinus live in shame knowing what he had done than him die now as a martyer to his cause. She turned and started walking away.*

Grand Sentinus - December 30, 2007 04:35 PM (GMT)
Jolt. His wand was outstretched, a savage smile on his face, his eyes darkened. He sent a cutting curse towards her back. Another swish of his wand pulled him from the floor and levitating in the air. "Idiot beast," he laughed. It was time for revenge.

Kiley Stewert - December 30, 2007 04:51 PM (GMT)
*Kiley yelped in pain and whipped around to see Sentinus.* Okay...i gave you a chance and you blew it. Here there are monsters.... *She lunged at him, snarling and barking savagely, going for his foot with open jaws and harp claws.*

ooc: ew...that ryhmes....how corney. lol

Grand Sentinus - December 30, 2007 04:54 PM (GMT)
He fell back, a whip coming from his wand. He lashed at it, trying to set the beast backward. "Avaunt and quit my sight!" he screamed, lashing his whip savagely. "You monster! you MONSTER!" He hovered around and lashed again. He would tame the beast then kill it while it knelt before him...

Kiley Stewert - December 30, 2007 05:00 PM (GMT)
*Kiley was whipped a few times. The leather cut into her skin, helping to saturate her fur in blood and give her an even more menacing appearance. Kiley caught the whip with her teeth and yanked, trying to pull it out of his hands*

Grand Sentinus - December 30, 2007 05:16 PM (GMT)
And she did. The whip and Elder Wand flew through the air, he frabbed for it and failed but landed at the beast's feet. He looked up at her and lunged, his arms punching its chest.

Kiley Stewert - December 30, 2007 06:18 PM (GMT)
*Once he fell, Kiley lunged at him. She scratched at his hands and arms to keep them away from her. She placed her front paws on the man's chest, leaving foot prints of blood. She snarled once and waited for him to move. When he did, Kiley barked visiously and sunk her teeth into his arm. Kiley clamped down as hard as she could and didn't let go, giving him chance to fully process what was happening; that he was being bit by a werewolf. He was one of them now. The resistance had won. There was no way the family could carry on. Sentinus was ruined. Kiley's eyes locked on his.*

Grand Sentinus - December 30, 2007 06:38 PM (GMT)
Sentinus scrambled on the floor in the mess of his own blood. He screamed and screamed and screamed. He couldn't stop. His left eye burst and became blind. He was a werewolf. The thing that ruined his life. He was sick repeatedly. He slipped and fell in his own vomit and his blood coloured it red. It was a hell-stench. "What have you done?" he whispered to the beast.

___

Harshing had been fighting off a crowd of Family and when he had killed them all in cold blood he swept the mud from his robes and calmly walked over to Kiley and the raging fool that was Sentinus.

He trained his wand on him. "Excellent Kiley."

There was a short silence. Harshing had just praised someone.

Kiley Stewert - December 30, 2007 06:43 PM (GMT)
*Kiley let go of Sentinus and backed up away from him. She didn't feel when she expected she would. She tohught she would feel pain and guilt as she watched him stumble around, half blind and in pain. But instead she felt a morbid jow. Kiley stumbled and fell on her side ehind harshing. She had lost a lot of blood, an despite the victory just then, she was beginning to feel tired and cold. But she refused to take her eyes of Sentinus. She couldn't bring herself to do it.*

Grand Sentinus - December 30, 2007 06:58 PM (GMT)
"Expecto Patronum" A glowing silver raven hovered around him and Kiley when Harshing flicked his wand. He had done so not out of precaution, or our of enjoyment but because ten thousand dementors had decided to unite and plunge down towards Sentinus.

Kiley Stewert - December 30, 2007 07:10 PM (GMT)
*Kiley fell into Harshing's leg, smearing her blood al over it. She hadn't ment to, but when she had tried to stand, she had been too dizzy. So she stayed on the ground and closed her eyes for a moment. It felt as if she was going to die. But she was okay with that, because she had brought about the fall of the Family. She was satisfied.*

Grand Sentinus - December 30, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
The silver raven attacked the dementors, sending some rotating through the air.

---

Sentinus could hear the echoes of screaming. His sister's hellish winge amidst the thump thump thump of paws on girlish flesh. He reflelt the cool iron of his cage and remade the soft tears falling on his sister's dead face. He could see himself holding her body, allowing it to lol in his arms.

"Wake up now," he whispered like he whispered on that night. "Wake up nicky. Come on now."

He was singing a soft nursery rhyme. He cried and cried then fell next to her, holding her corpse and sobbing into her neck, the only part where the wolves had not bitten. She was so tiny. So vulnerable.

A dementor broke this thought, landed on him and kissed his icy lips. His soul left him. The last thing he saw was his sister, laughing as she ran through a cherry orchard in full blossom.

He smiled warmly and let a final tear roll across his face.

Kiley Stewert - December 30, 2007 07:55 PM (GMT)
*Kiley had passed out by this point, bleeding on the ground at Harshing's feet. If she would have seen him recieve the kiss, she would have probably been upset. But se was already slipping away down further into unconsiousness.*

Coldstone Harshing - December 30, 2007 08:15 PM (GMT)
A black cloud swept past Harshing carrying Sentinus and the Elder wand away.

Harshing took Kiley's hand and apparated to Saint Mungoes before unchaining his daughter Flame.

Fawne Sugarmoon - December 30, 2007 10:24 PM (GMT)
Had she been in her normal state of mind, she would have been stubborn enough to reuse help and try to run herself. As it was she just felt too numb to do anything but switch between alternate thoughts about sleeping, the past and being thankful for Dorien's help.

She had clung to him as tightly as she could, like he instructed, but it took the combine effect of distance and the patronous for her to actually resume normal thought processes. It was at this point she clung slightly tighter to Dorien before speaking.

"I think i should walk now..." She sounded thankful for his help but there was a underlying tone of worry. She was worried for him and she was worried at the fact he would think her useless and a pain, which was all she had been since she found him.

It wasn't much longer after this thought that she realised the dementors began swarming else where, being where she was she was unable to figure out exactly what was going on. Only managing to make out the grand had fallen...
