Okay.. I'm new so I'm a little confused.. exactly who are the Family?

The family was a group from the plot last year. Basically, they were similar to death eaters, except instead of concerning themselves with blood cleansing, they were concerned with killing all magical creatures.

They have since dissolved and are no longer in the new plot.

Finn is right.

After Voldemort's fall, a wizard named Sentinus decided that it would be smart to spread his message of werewolf and vampire hate through the wizarding world. He formed a special society sort of thing- The Family. His followers. Their ultimate goal was to destroy werewolves and vampires.

The Resistance was the opposing force and they ended up destroying Sentinus. They are now called The Protectors.
