Description: Potential spoiler alert

Recently, there has been some speculation that Deathly Hallows will need to be made into two movies. What are your thoughts about this? Is the seventh book that involved and detailed that one movie would not do it justice? If so, what the hell happened to the fourth and fifth movies?

Such a lot happens in this book, even more than the longer ones. JKR crammed in so much action that cant take a few lines in a film. I think the two movie idea, although appearing greedy, is a very good idea - it allows DH to be 4 hours in total, the perfect length to include the important plot points.

The only problem with that theory is that things happened for seemingly no reason. Everything about the book was random. The destroying of the horcruxes and the wedding could be covered in about 45 minutes. The real meat of the story is the part where Harry is in limbo/ battling with Voldemort.
If they make two movies, it will be boring. Parts that are insignificant will be stretched out, and the important parts will seem short.

I think that making Deathly Hallows into two movies is a good idea. I understand that it might be greedy, but that suits our capitalist culture. I think that yes, some parts that are boring will be stretched out somewhat unnecessarily but it also give the opportunity for the important ones to get their due time. There are many things that have just been left out or skimmed over in the other movies that should have had more focus. And with all the "meat" in the last book (emotional relationships, deaths, fighting and merely tying up loose ends) it has to be longer than two hours. And no one will sit through a 4 hour single movie, especially a young child.

I totally agree that the last book needs to be 2 films. There's just so much character development and plot devises within that one book, that you can't possibly edit it all down into a 2 1/2 or even a 3 hour long movie. I think the filmmakers are definitely on the ball with this idea.
