Title: Boredom comes so easily

Kae perched on a tree limb, her legs dangling above the heads of oblivious students. She wore her usually smirk as she watched students pass by, completely unknowing to her existence. It was a nice feeling. She was tempted to throw things at some, particularly the little firsties, who were slowly becoming not so little, but decided to give it a pass today, she couldn't bothered with the trouble of an argument. Instead, she fiddled with a dead leaf. She shredded it little by little, letting the little pieces fall to the ground.

*Melanie was in the forest looking for somewhere to be alone, or some way to not be lonely anymore. Two completely different things that seemed impossible to want all at once. She had found a group of younger kids- first years. She kept walking as if she didn't notice them. Then, one of the pieces of the leaf Kae was tearing dropped right Melanie . She looked down at the leaf that was now on the ground, then up to see where it had come from. To her surprise, she found a girl in the tree. It was a relief that the girl seemed to be her age, because seeing the group of kids really made her wish she could talk to someone. She decided to take a chance and talk to the girl.*

Melanie:"Hey!" *she greeted the girl, hopefully getting her attention.*

Kaelynn looked around, wondering who in the world this girl could be talking to. But when she looked down she realized that the greeting had been meant for her. Now she had to engage in conversation, because she'd recognized the girl's existance. Kae scowled. Who would even bother to start a conservation. But Kae very well couldn't just ignore the girl. THe only temptation to continue the conversation was that it might keep the boredom away to some degree. She wouldn't ignore her, but she didn't have to play nice. A smile formed on her features, slowly though, as if in thought. Though really, her mind was empty. "hi..." Kae said, not bothering to keep the boredom and edge out of her voice.

*Well she surely didn't sound eager to talk back. Melanie proceeded anyway, not caring. She was desperate Now, though, it seemed awkward. She did her best to keep it interesting.*
Melanie:"I'm Melanie. I see that you're...in a tree. What's the view like from up there?" *Melanie was mentally hitting herself for not thinking of anything better to say.*

Since the conversation had begun, Kae might as well start to engage in it. By any means, it was likely to keep the boredom at bay for some time. The girl intrigued her, despite the fact that she interrupted her afternoon of doing nothing. "I'm Kaelynn... Kae actually," Her voice still had a slightly snotty tone to it, but it no longer held the boredom and lack of interest in it. "The view is actually pretty good"

*Melanie smiled.*
Melanie:"Well, nice to meet you. Umm...is there room up there for me?" *she asked awkwardly. She probably thought that Mel was a crazy stalker or something.*

Kaelynn shrugged. Soe this girl had caught her on a good day. And Mel didn't seem to bad. "Yea. There's plenty of room." She told meil, looking down, her legs swing idly below her. She wondered where their conversation would stray from this point on. THe only thing that kept her talking to Mel was pure curiosity

Melanie Hunter - February 25, 2008 01:33 AM (GMT)
Melanie:"Then I'm coming up." *she told her.*"I don't like not really being able to see who I'm talking to."

*Before Kaelynn could say anything, she started to climb up the tree, finding it mildly easy. The fact that she used to do this all of the time and the strenuous workout that quidditch and raising a baby provided were probably the reason for this. When she reaching the branch that Kaelynn was on, she swung herself onto it as well so she was sitting next to the girl. She looked down at the ground far below her.*
Melanie:"Hmm, you were right. This is rather nice."
