Title: Breakfast
Description: Fawne?
Dorien Hurt - March 24, 2008 09:17 PM (GMT)
*Dorien sat at the Ravenclaw table, his elbows resting on the table and his long fingers folded infront of him. He was gazing across the hall, silently thinking. It was fairly early and not many people were in the great hall yet. Dorien, of course, wasn't eating. He never did..
Dorien had gone away after the death of Cecelia. He had taken the baby to a place where he knew she would be safe untill she was older. He couldn't bring himself to look at heranyway. She looked too much like cecelia. But he had come back, and appeared fine on the outside. Internally he was still ripped apart. But he was slowly improving.*

She had always been and early riser, preferring sun rises to sets. Although her sleeping habits were random enough as it was, especially lately since she'd been thinking, a lot. Today she had awoken later than usual, though still early, and had chosen to come straight down to eat before the crowds.
Pushing lightly on the doors, slipping into the hall with minimum noise, Fawne headed over towards her table. She had only taken a few soft steps before her eyes set on a familiar face, had it been in her nature she would have run over towards Dorien. As it was however she merely walked over towards the Ravenclaw table and sat in the seat beside him. She didn't speak as she sat, nor did she look directly at him, she just stared into space.
"I thought you'd left." her voice surprisingly didn't hold tones of hurt but more of worry. He'd vanished and she had worried. Worried so much she sat up at thought about it.
Dorien Hurt - March 24, 2008 09:52 PM (GMT)
"I did..." *He said softly, allowing his hands to fall back to the table. He looked at Fawne, his eyes a very light butterscotch now, since he had fed not hours before.*"I had some buisness to attend to." *He prefered to keep his emotions out of it.* "I'm sorry I couldn't warn you...it was the middle of the night and I had to leave immediately." *He sighed and smiled slightly, looking at Fawne still* "But I'm back now....."

Although her insides were screaming at her to pry and ask what business had to run off too she didn't ask. She realised as much as she wanted ask, there were some things she would never fully understand Dorien's life. And that thought made her a sad and a little mad.
She nodded in response to his words, and turned to look at him. Seemingly finding space dull now. Either that or she was beginning to wake up, some people were not morning people. She gave him a half smile, placing her clasped hands on the table.
"Its rather delightful to see you have returned..have you been well?" she wanted to ask him so many questions but she couldn't bring herself to ask and instead settled for the softly spoken question of his health.
Dorien Hurt - March 24, 2008 10:18 PM (GMT)
"I've been better." *He said after a pause. Dorien knew he wasn't being open with her, and he felt bad about it. But there wasn't much that he could do about it* "How have you been...What happened while I was gone?" *He asked quietly, picking up a piece of toast and starting to rip it into tiny pieces and let them fall onto his plate.*
Fawne Sugarmoon - March 24, 2008 10:35 PM (GMT)
She turned to the table, looking everywhere and anywhere. Although a smile was on her lips she was a little annoyed by the awkwardness that seemed to surround the conversation, although she didn't blame Dorien for it. She reached across the table finally choosing an apple for breakfast, finding she was not in the mood for her usual cornflakes with orange juice. She felt tired, annoyed and sad, a unusual set of feelings for the bright girl.
She took a bite of the apple, swallowing before responding. Her tone never fluctuating though the pause was obvious. "I have been delightful... I rather find things have been quite lately."
Dorien Hurt - March 24, 2008 11:14 PM (GMT)
"Hm." *He said in responce, looking down at the shreaded bits of toast on his plate. He folded his hands again before looking away to the side* "So everything was fine when I was gone?" *He was suprised by her lack of questions. There wasn't anyone sitting near them, since everyone else subconsiously steered clear of Dorien.*
Fawne Sugarmoon - March 24, 2008 11:25 PM (GMT)
She took another the bite of her apple trying hard to be respectful of his personal space. It was hard for her to suppress her blunt nature and it showed by her lack of intelligent responses. At his question however something inside her snapped, respectful or not she had to ask. It was picking at her insides not asking.
"Everything was wonderful, if a little lonely... Perhaps you would rather talk about the Business you had to attend to?" her question was placed after a break in the sentence, as if allowing for the previous topic to die. She mimicked his own previous choice of words subconsciously.
Dorien Hurt - March 24, 2008 11:45 PM (GMT)
"It's.....complicated." *He said with a sigh. Dorien picked up another piece of toast and started shreading it like he had the first* "I don't even know where to start." *He glanced up at her, his exaustion and sadness showing for the first time to her* "Do you remember how when we first met I was dating Cecelia Ferrari?"
Fawne Sugarmoon - March 24, 2008 11:54 PM (GMT)
She hadn't expected him to answer her at all but she was surprised he did give a response. Though when she saw the sadness and exhaustion he showed she wanted nothing more the the hug him and tell him it was okay, she regretted asking but she knew she had too. For her if not him.
At his question she paused, thinking back on when they first met, she did vaguely remember that he was dating someone called Cecelia Ferrari. But her mind had been other wise occupied back then.
"I believe i remember so, she was a Slytherin no?..." she paused and bit her lip, though she didn't turn her gaze from Dorien. "I should not have pushed you with questions. You seem distressed."
Dorien Hurt - March 25, 2008 12:12 AM (GMT)
"It's alright. You have a right to know..." *He assured her, his voice muted. He dropped the remaining toast onto his plate* "Yes, she was a Slytherin. And she was pregenet when the family took over. The other night...the night I had to leave...I was out in the forest hunting. I came across her body. And her child. She had given birth and died. The family paniked and dumped her in the woods.....I had to take her baby somewhere where it could recieve propper care. I obviously am not fit to raise a child. I don't trust myself enough." *The pain was obvious in his voice in the last sentence., and in the following ones* "And it hurt too much to look it it...it looked so much like cecelia." *He paused and looked off away again* "I should have been looking for her more. I sent her off to live with my family, but I should have watched over her closer. Now she's dead and it's my fault..."
Fawne Sugarmoon - March 25, 2008 12:39 AM (GMT)
Fawne felt the familiar hate for the family rise in her mind, it was by far one of her worst decisions it had cost her a lot, and Dorien even more. But innocents such as barely infants should not be made motherless for a pathetic cause. She studied Dorien carefully with concern and righteous anger in her eyes, anger at what the family had done of course not him. She was unsure how to comfort him, she couldn't even being to understand how many things must be running through his mind. In the end she choose the grasp his upper arm in a comforting gesture before speaking in and impossibly soft tone considering her normal tone of voice.
"I believe i can think of no other being who Cecelia would trust to look after her little one than you; you have already saved it...I am sure you would be a wonderful carer should you choose to do so, the little one would be lucky. Besides i believe you have people who would help" She paused in thought having only addressed his initial comment. She stared him in the eyes with complete sincerity as if this would make her words true "You must not blame yourself, it does not good to let the past haunt you. You possess no guilt for you did not harm her. You acted in a way you assumed best, it is not your fault. Fate has away of getting what she wants."
Dorien Hurt - March 25, 2008 08:29 PM (GMT)
"I didn't hurt her physically. But I didn't protect her either." *He argued.* "I should have done more for her. I should have known..." *Dorien's voice faded away.* "The babyy's name is Bianca Jade." *He told her, looking back to Fawne* "I took her to live with my family in Yorkshire. My father has more tollerance for working with humans......he's a healer....she'll be safe there, I hope..." *Dorien's head dropped. He rested his forehead in his hand once again, letting his eyes close*
Fawne Sugarmoon - March 25, 2008 08:46 PM (GMT)
It wasn't in Fawne's nature to argue but when he continued to blame himself the look in her eyes could almost be classed as livid, though it was slightly concealed behind there normal misty appearance. She removed her hand from his arm and placed both on the table, next to the forgotten half eaten apple. Her eyes were focused on him in general rather than his eyes and as she spoke her tone was lower than normal, like a tight whisper.
"You were captured Dorien, trapped in a horrid cell. It is rather impossible for you to be at fault for her protection... It is impossible to protect everyone..." she trailed off and paused. When she spoke agian her tone became higher and softer, attempting to pick a lighter section of the problem to talk about. "Bianca is a delightful name, i am sure she will heal with time if nothing else..."
