Teeny, pedantic and annoying correction: The United Kingdom is a country, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are just sub-states and don't really count as official "countries" anymore. (I don't agree with it I am just being annoyingly pedantic ;) )

oh and also, england and the rest are still considered countrys, they are Constituent countries which means they make up a larger entity or grouping, though they are still considered countries :D
