A man is laying dead in a field. Something he had in his backpack could have saved him if it would have worked properly. What was in the backpack?

I pretty much agree with Mel's answer, or that's the answer I've heard before anyway. If the guys parachute had opened he wouldn't have, well, gone splat...

Nevertheless for the sake of something diffrent to say, how about say er a Cell phone, if the cell phone had beenworking properly he could have called for help after getting his foot stuck down that hole instead of dying in a field. lol, sorry it was the only other thing i could think of. And typing cell phone is weird, I'm use to typing mobile lol.
