Title: A Tiring day Ending with a Sunset
Description: Anyone Welcome

Rebecca Emery - May 14, 2008 03:49 AM (GMT)
It’s been a long and tiring day, is what Rebecca thought on her way up the rounded staircase that lead to the Astronomy tower, the highest building through out all Hogwarts. The most tiring thing of her day had been her classes of course. Today she'd had double potions and not to mention Divination. A subject in which she disliked very much. Rebecca saw no point in the class and had argued forever with herself on not picking it, but it was the only class she would subject herself too. After all who in the world was interested in Muggle studies? Not that she disliked muggles it's just she thought she knew enough of them to get her by in life. Especially after living with her parents for all her fourteen years.

Smiling at the thought of her parents she shook her head at their persistence to know about the muggle world. Rebecca could hear their words in her mind right now. 'We live in their world Becca, why not learn about it?' She never did disagree with them because she knew deep down they were right. Not that she minded much it was always interesting seeing what new contraptions the muggles came up with. Sometimes they completely blew her mind.

Moving away from her thoughts on muggles she redirected them to the top of the tower she just came to not only moments ago. Smiling to herself Rebecca walked over to the open window. Looking out her blue eyes brightened at the scene. It was breathtaking. Something she knew could never really be caught in a picture. Of course photographers could come close, but Rebecca knew they'd never capture the real feelings of amazement, wonder, and happiness people felt while watching a sunset.

Sighing deeply at her thoughts Rebecca moved to sit on the window seal her mind else where when she heard footsteps climbing the stairs from behind her. Glancing to the open door way she waited for the person to reach the top of the staircase a small smile on her face.

Finn could not believe his luck. Harshing was in jail! He knew that life was turning around for him. He figured that he would go up to the tower and watch the sun set. He enjoyed his solitude. It was nice to get away from the shenanigans of all the other kids. Why couldn't they just grow up?

He wondered where his brother went. Finn hoped that he got away safely. He knew it was best for Milo to go into hiding at least for the time being. It was probably for the best anyways. Milo never really protected Finn. Finn risked his own life more often that he would have for anyone. Never again.

He ascended the marble stairs, and was surprised to see that there was already someone up in the tower. Disappointment flooded over him. He wanted to be alone and to watch the stars. Oh well... he thought. I'm doing what I want...

He reached the top of the stairs and saw the girl sitting by herself. Maybe she wanted to be alone too... "I'm sorry," Finn said, "Did you want to be alone?"

Once Rebecca heard the footsteps stop she knew the person had finally made it to the top of the tower. Turning her heart shaped face to the open door way her blue eyes caught a boy standing in the door way looking almost hesitant. Watching him she took in his appearance. Rebecca knew almost immediately he was older than her. She also knew instantly, more like she could tell, he was disappointed though the reason why was a mystery to her.

Upon hearing his voice and what he was asking she couldn't help but smile. Even though she'd had a tiring day didn't mean she didn't want company. Turning around so her legs were now dangling inside instead of the outside Rebecca finally spoke. "No apology needed," she told him first then went ahead and added. "Surprisingly after the day I've had I'd actually be welcome to company. Unless of course you'd rather not want company yourself...." Trailing off she watched the boy waiting to see what he would do.

Valentina Greysoul - May 21, 2008 07:28 PM (GMT)
Valentina was walking happily up the Astronomy Tower, doing three steps at a time.

She had been told that it was a beautiful sight at sunset. She was almost at the top when she heard two voices. She recognised only one. It was Rebecca. But she couldn’t understand the other one. It was a male voice.

She walked nervously in the room.

“erm… hello!” she said shyly, waiting for one of the two to answer.

Rebecca was sitting on near the wide window, while the boy was in the middle of the room.

Valentina could see the beautiful sunset, shining it’s golden red light in the room. She was desperate to go and meet her friend, but it would have been rude to interfeer in a conversation.

Her brown eyes were flicking around the room, while her hands were fiddling behind her back.

She look at Rebecca nervously, trying to tell her she wasn’t feeling confortable around another person which she didn’t know.

As Rebecca waited for the boy's answer she got a feeling she wasn't going to get one. So turning her blue eyes toward the staircase which were now echoing with the footsteps of another Rebecca waited to see who it was. Once the girl stopped in the open doorway Rebecca smiled at the familiar face. She hadn't talked to Valentina in quite sometime and was glad to finally be able to catch up with the younger Slytherin girl.

"Hey Val!" Rebecca exclaimed as she slid off the window seal. When her feet hit the floor she moved over to her friend. As she took in the girl's appearance she noticed Valentina was quite nervous. Watching the girl's face move from hers to the boy’s frantically Rebecca finally picked up on what was making her so timid.

"Don't worry about it Val. Come in and watch the sunset with me," Rebecca told her quietly a small reassuring smile on her lips as she walked back over to her seat on the window seal.

Valentina felt so relieved that Rebecca had just told her that.
she brushed her hair behind her ear and hurried over next to her friend, a relaxed smile on her lips.
She stopped nervously infront of the boy, but then returned to look at the sight outside the wide window.
With a jump, she sat by Rebecca.
She could feel the warm sunlight sinking slowly behind the tall trees and the distant hills. she but her back aways one side of the tall window and relaxed, for the first time in that whole, buisy week.
Valentina slowly closed her eyes and enjoyed the warm breeze, while playing a bit with her necklace.
just then, a loud screeching noise came from outside the window.
mail? it's not mail day today! she tought confused, while reopening her eyes. she sighed in annoyance.
it wasn't breakfast! it was sunset! how ridiculous!

As Rebecca sat back on the window seal again she watched as Valentina made her way over after stopping in front of the boy nervously. She couldn't help but shake her head slightly at the action. Valentina had always been timid something that always seemed to surprise Rebecca. Probably because the girl was Slytherin. Even so Rebecca knew it wasn't right to judge a person because of their house but nevertheless it was hard.

Tuning out her thoughts Rebecca watched as Valentina took in the sunset and closed her eyes. At that time she too turned into the sunset a small smile on her face as she watched the bright colors light up the sky before the darkness settled in. A sigh escaped her lips as she watched the magnificent scene before them. Though there scene was completely ruined when she heard a sudden screech.

Jumping slightly Rebecca turned just in time to see an owl cross their view of the horizon and frowned. "Well that wasn't anything I was expecting while watching the sunset," she said aloud smiling over at Valentina as she watched her friends reaction.

Valentina Greysoul - May 28, 2008 02:15 PM (GMT)
Valentina looked startled at the owl.
" Mistique!" she gasped, "how did you find me?"
the owl screeched and nibbled Valentina's ear in an affectionate way.
Valentina patted the barn owl and grabbed the letter.
it was written in green ink. She gulped as she ripped it open.

the letters in the envelope was folded, but by the Snake stamp she knew what it ment without even reading it.

she frowned when she rememberd that she was in the astronomy tower with her friend, Rebecca.

Valentina quickly stuffed the letter in her pocket and returned near the window.
