The reason for his absense was simple, or the story was at least. His great-grandmahad lay dying in St.Mungos and he had wished to say his goodbyes. It was true his great grandmother had been lay dieing, she had died only a week before now, but he had not once visited her. In reality, Lycs had been hiding,he'd seen his cousin go down for his illegalactivities, but now he was back tocontinue the reign of terror he and his cousin had started.

He paced through the classroom, smirking, today they dc would do something simple, in his mind, turning creatures into goblets. He walked through the classroom, set up as it had alwas been- perfect desks at the back, for purebloods, and ruined desks at the front, for mudbloods. he smirked, waiting for his class.

Valentina walked nervously in the classroom.
she had heard rumors about her trasfiguration teacher.
something sad about his mother or grandmother.
she didn't know how to act around people who's family member was dying.

she was walking in with Helena, her Gryffindor friend.
they sat at the end of the classroom.
normally the two Houses sat oposite each other, Gryffindor on the right side and Slytherin on the left. but they didn't.
while getting out the equipment, Valentina notice her teacher sitting on the other side of the classroom behind the teacher's desk.
"G-goodmorning!" Valentina gasped, suprised that she didn't notice the teacher before.

*Muchia walked into class in a sour mood. He hated transifuration. It was one of the few things he had absolutly no skill at and cecause of that this was the last place in the entire world that he wanted to be. Ordinarily he would have skipped transfiguration today or at least came in extremely late but he had already lost 10 points from Hufflepuff earlier today for being tardy and he couldn't afford to l;et it happen again.

Muchia didn't even look around to see who was here before walked directly to a seat in the back corner of the classroom. He sat own and put his head on his desk hoping to sleep through the class an go almost entirly unnotticed*

Valentina starightend her back as she heard someone tiptoe in the room.

“Machia! How are you doing? I havent seen you for a while now!” Valentina said happily, greating her Hufflepuff friend.

If she wasn’t mistaken, Machia was giving her a death glare, even though she couldn’t understand why.

“erm… want to grab my seat? It’s empty!” she said with a smile, feeling embaraced and stupid. She didn’t even realise what she had just said. The classroom was empty expect them three and the teacher.

*Muchia looked up over his shoulder and glared at the girl who dared to interupt his napping. He just kept glaring at her as she rambled something about a seat.*

Muchia: Not a good time*he grumbled at her and he promtly put his head back on tje desk*

She looked desapointed at Muchia.
"oh! ok, then!" she said crisply.
she slumped back in her chair.
how rude! she thought anoyed, crossing her arms in frustration.

obviously, she would make up with the Hufflepuff boy later, but, as she thought, she had all the right in the magic world to be grumpy!

she looked back at Helena, who was biting her lip to stop the laughting.

"what?!" she snapped.

todays not your day, Val, just calm down now!" she thought nervously.

April stalked in Transfiguration, excited to be joining the class. There were a few students sitting around, from a few different houses. She put her books down at a random table, all alone, and brought out a quill, ink, and parchment. She was ready to go.

Her book lay open on the table in front of her, and she was reading it while she waited for class to start. Her teacher was pacing at the front of the class, seemingly uninterested in the class, or waiting for other students. She waited patiently.

Ana walked in and stopped short, faced with the decision of where to sit. She glanced around the room deciding which spot would be the best and settled for a seat near the middle. After all, she didn't want to seem to eager.

She sat for a moment as she watched the professor walk around the classroom. She felt slightly uncomfortable so she decided to pass the time by pulling out her journal and writing a letter to her brother, which she would send later.

Lisette walked into Transfiguration class. She immediatley recognized the teacher as someone her cousin Gen knew in school. Gen had talked to Lisette about him but didnt go into much detail. She saw April sitting all alone at her desk. She decided to go sit with her but made sure to give the professor a nod saying hello.

"Hey April!" Lis said. She was already setting her things down. "Mind if I sit here?" She said smiling.

Solana walked into class. There wasn't many people there yet. She saw the Professor sitting at his desk. She nodded to him in hello, then looked around where to sit. She spotted Lisette and took a seat next to her.

Solana loved Transfiguration. One day she'd like to learn to be an animagus. She said a "Hello" to Lisette and April and then turned attentively to the front of the class.

Jesse walked into his Tranfig class and has a seat at a middle table. He put his books under his seat and took out a quill. Jesse was very interested in Transfiguration. He began to stare into space imagining what crazy things he has yet to learn in this class.

Lycs decided that today, for once, he could not be bothered to spend the energy organising the class and let them sit where they want and, about five minutes after class was due to start he glanced around- counting. 4 Hufflepuff, 1 Ravenclawe and 2 Slytherin. Well, they were a little thin on the ground, but it would make things easier.

"Teagan, Greysoul, you two work together" he said, pointing at a pair of desks and dropping a small box which held a rat onto each one.

"Ramuse, Lilly and Bellway, your another group." he said, once again dropping a captured rat onto a group of desks- three this time, for three students.

"Which should leave Anderson and Dawson." he said, dropping another two rats onto a two table.

He walked to his desk and sat down. "You will not refer to textbooks in this lesson, this is a test of initiative. You arwe to all make the rats infront of you turn to goblets. If any of you hold the skills requied for transfiguration of this type, you will then proceed to teach your partner, or partners. You may start."

Ana took a deep breath and glanced across the room and the boy she knew to be Muchia Dawson. She'd never talked to him before, but he looked like he didn't want to be bothered. She knew that she had to work with him regardless, so she stood and joined him at the table designated for their partnership.

"So, how much experience do you have in transfiguration?" she asked politely, taking a glance at the box which held the rat they were supposed to work with.

Flame walked in, late, but she didn't care about being later anymore- there was noone in this school she feared or respected enough to turn up on time for classes. Plus, Anima wouldn't care, he had been away for ages, so noone had even known he was going to be here. She did not say a word, not even an apology, as she swept through the room to sit with the other Slytherins. She recognised Teagan, but could not place the otherone. She stared at the rats , then up at the others. "What are we meant to be doing?"

Solana turned to her partners. "Anyone know the spell," she asked. She couldn't believe she didn't remember it and wanted very badly to sneak a look at her text book.

*muchia raised his head when the proffessor gave them their assignment. he was assigned to work with Annabelle Anderson from Ravenclaw. He had never realy met her or even talked to her but then again she was in Ravenclaw. And Ravenclaws were smart. He felt ashamed for being steriotipical but hoped that at least this time the stereotype would be true. Anabelle came over to where he was sitting.*

Muchia: A bit, but transfiguration's not realy my cup of tea, if you get my meaning. I realy haven't got a clue how to turn a rat into a goblet. sorry

Ana smiled.

"Don't worry about it. Not everyone can be good in every class. Transfiguration and Herbology are probably my best classes. I am just awful in Arithmancy though."

She thought for a minute, digging back to her lessons in her 2nd year.

"Yes, I believe the spell is Fera-Verto. I guess I'll go first."

She took one of the two rats out of the box and set it in front of her. She'd never been fond of the creatures, but she was turning it into a goblet anyway so it didn't matter much.

She took her wand out, tapped it three times towards the rat and said, "Fera Verto". All at once that rat transformed into a simple, silver goblet.

Ana released a breath, happy that she was still able to do the simple spell and directed her attention back to Muchia.

"You wanna try?"

Solana watched Anabelle Transform her rat into a goblet. Damn, she thought I'm usually good at Transfiguration, what is the spell! She thought as hard as she could but couldn't remember it.

She glanced up at the teacher. He didn't seem to be looking her way so she reached down into her bag and quckly removed her Transfiguration book, then flipped to the section she new the spell was in.

She glanced up again, and didn't see the teacher staring her way. She scanned the list of spell. Aha! She thought, there it is!

She slipped the book back into her bag hoping the teacher hadn't seen then removed a rat from the box and pointed her wand at it, saying clearly, "Fera-Verto"

And the rat turned into a goblet.

*Muchia watched as Annabel transformed the rat into a goblet. He was impressed. the goblet was flawless. there was no way to tell that it used to be a rat.*

Muchia: uhh sure, i guess. though don't expect anything spectacular.

*he grabbed a rat and put it on the desk. He pointed his wand at the rat*
Muchia: Fera-Verto!

*the rat didn't turn into a goblet. On the contrary it simply lost its legs and rolled of tthe desk.

Muchia: oops. Accio legless rat!

*the rat flew into his hand. He grinned. At least he was good at something*

Ana giggled softly as she saw the very odd looking rat fly into Muchia's hand. She quickly felt bad for the chuckle, it made her sound like a show off. She certainly didn't want to come off that way. After all, she wasn't perfect either.

"Eh, it happens. I've definitely had my days. Try slowing it down just a little bit. Enunciate a little. See if that helps."

Lisette was excited to be in a group with Jesse. Lis took all of the stuff and went to the table where all the rats were. She stood in between Solana and Jesse. "So, I hope you all know the spell because Trasnfiguration isnt my thing." Lis said sheepishly. She then watched Solana cheat and get the spell out of her book. "Good work Solana!" gen heard her say the incantation and then repeated it to her rat. She pointed her wand, Fera-Verto! Nothing happened. She seemed to have hurt the rat, since it was squealing now. Lis did it again more quickly and pronounced the words more clearly. She pointed her wand and concentrated, Fera-Verto! The rat had turned into a goblet. She looked over at Solana and Jesse. "Good work everyone! Especially Solana." Lis said with a smile.

April looked glumly at the rat. She hated rats. And her partner seemed to be off in her own world. She knew the spell, and was definately willing to get rid of the rat, and now!

She drew her wand and triwled it casually, pointing it towards the moving rat. Her first spell missed and rebounced upon the stool, which didn't turn into a goblet but merely shuddered. April was glad she hadn't put much effort into that one. She shook her head and concentrated this time.

"Fera-Verto!" she said, and the rat in front of her turned into a goblet. She smiled and placed her wand on the desk, waiting for her partner to respond to human communication.

Solana smiled "Thanks," she said, then dropping her voice to a whisper added, "I hope he didn't notice though."

Then she said to Jesse. "You still need to turn your rat into a gobelt."

Robyn came in, knowing she was late. Her hair was pulled back in her velvet green ribbon, her uniform seemed a bit untidy, and she seemed like she had been running.
"Sorry I'm late. That's one thing you can ussually count on me being!" Robyn grinned, and then let it drop. She shrugged. Robyn slid into a seat nearest the door and waited for the professor to tell her something.

Melanie rounded the door of the classroom five minutes late, and bumped into somebody.
"Sorry," muttered Melanie.
"Sorry I'm late, I got caught in a trick staircase and waited for three minutes until someone came along and was willing to pull me out," Melanie said a little louder to the teacher.

Emily walked into the class room. She was so happy to be in Transfiguration (transfig as she called it). Back at Beauxbatons Academy (BA for short) she was top of her class in transfig.

Emily looked around the class and saw that they were turning rats into goblets, easy Emily thought. She saw that girl April she meet in her potions class. "At least you will know someone" Emily said quietly to herself.

Emily looked around again and saw the teacher. Emily walked up to him taped him on the shoulder and said "Pardon me sir, but hello I'm Emily Fall and I just transfered to Hogwarts from Beauxbatons Academy in France. I'm sorry I was late but I got kinda lost". Emily passed the teacher her note. She hoped she wouldn't get in trouble.

Valentina was glad she was put with April.
She watched in amazement when her partner transformed her rat in a golden goblet.

"well done, April!" she said happily, clapping her hands lightly.

she took out her Ebony Wood wand and tapped it carefully against the rat's back (this one was pretty fat, and it looked quite disgousting), and said, clearing her throat:

"Vera-Verto !"

she ha accidently said Vera instead of Fera.

the rat turned slowly in a golden blob, an then in a perfectly shapped gobled, with rubies and emeralds decorating the top and silver embroides rising towards the bottom.

she gasped and stepped back slowly.
"holy cow!" she mutterd.

she shot her hand up.

"is it ment to come like this professor? isn't it a 'bit' exagerated?"

she turned to April.

"do you want it?" she asked.

Jessie ran at full speed around the corner leading to Transfiguration class. She knew she was late, but on her ferst day she was asking almost everyone where her classes where, untill a teacher had finally written them down for her.

She opend the door to her classroom, and almost closed the door as the hawk flew in. Sighing, she waited as the hawk landed beside her and started walking around the room. "Sorry i'm late proffeser, I got lost." What an embarassing thing to say, but it was the truth.

Saphira ran down the hallways heading to the Transfiguration classroom. She had almost forgot the time of the lesson. As she walked into the classroom Saphira noticed that the Professor looked upset about something. Earlier that morning she had heard from the older students that a member of Professor Anima family had died. Saphira quietly walked to a desk in the back of the classroom and sat down. She took out parchment, quills and ink so that she would be prepared there were any notes.

Vero ran into class out of breath and had to bend over to catch her breath. "Sor--sorry---pro---profe---ssor." Vero said has she walked to her set and sat down. Vero looked around and noticed that everyone had a partner and a rat. 'EEEWWW,rats. Vero sighed.
