Title: The Beginning of a Good Thing
Description: Open
Jeraud Cynster - May 21, 2008 10:07 PM (GMT)
Walking into the hospital wing Jer couldn’t help the lop sided grin that was plastered on his face as he took in the area around him. It had been quite awhile since he’d stepped into this room and instantly all his memories came flooding back. Boots treading loudly on the ground as he walked Jer glanced to his right remembering the first time he’d fallen off his broom. He chuckled remembering how embarrassed he was especially since it had been his first game. He could hear his fellow team mates now joking with him then telling him with faked happiness that they’d won. It hadn’t been till later that afternoon Jer had found out his team mates had lied to him for his sake because if it hadn’t been for him falling they would have won.
Shaking his head he moved along his hazel eyes gleaming with amusement when he remembered the first time he’d ever actually healed someone. Even if it was just a case of being hexed. Turning his head to the right side of the room near where all the potions were kept he stopped in his tracks. The gleam of amusement was completely lost as he remembered what he had read from his mother’s letter in his third year while he was helping out Madame Pomfery with stocking her potions. ‘Jer, my son, you must know no matter what I’m about to say that I love you dearly and always will. I would never….ever betray you like someone. You’re my life son….’
The letter Jer remembered clearly had went on to tell him that his father had left. For good. He recalled the tear stained parchment (the letter) that held those words and the anger and sadness that had overcame him as he’d read the words over and over again. ‘Your father’s gone….for good.’ Shaking his head at where his thoughts had turned he sighed in irritation. The irritation directed at himself.
“You’re over this Jer. You have been for a long time now. Don’t let him get to you now. You should be happy….” He said aloud to himself trailing off at the end as he suddenly heard the pounding footsteps outside the hospital wing door. His eyebrows rose in wonder. I wonder what happened, he thought turning to greet the person just as he/she strode in.
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 22, 2008 12:53 AM (GMT)
Gen walked into the hospital wing with an arm load of potions that one of the mediwitches asked her to make for the patients. She was about to trip over herself when seh walked in. She also saw a man standing there. She felt slightly embarassed because her arms were full and she looked as if she was about to topple over any second. She hoped that he hadn't seen her walk in. She walked quickly but carefully to the potions rack and made sure to put them all away in alphabetical order. The mediwitch was ver yspecific on this.
Gen then turned and saw the man was still standing there. Should I introduce myself or should I just walk away unnoticed? Gen thought to herself. She decided quickly in her mind that she might as well say hi since she had never seen him before.
Gen walked up to him, arms behind her back and her short blonde curly hair bouncing with every step she took, she introduced herself. "Hi. Sorry if Im bothering you. I just wanted to introduce myself. Im Genevieve Rasmuse, the Potions Professor and Head of Gryffindor House." Gen extended her hand for a more formal greeting. "I havent seen you around, are you new?" Gen said questioningly, with her dark blue eyes looking at him kindly.
Jeraud Cynster - May 22, 2008 02:13 AM (GMT)
Jer turned to the hospital wing doors just in time to see them open and a women walk in. Taking in her appearance the first thing he happened to notice was her arms which were full with potions. As she stepped in farther letting the door close behind herself he watched as she almost tripped. He instantly stepped forward ready to rush to her to make sure she was alright, but luckily the thought turned out to be fiction rather than reality as she regained her balance. A small sigh of relief escaped from his lips as he watched her steps quicken. His hazel eyes followed the blonde all the way to the potions rack where she now stood placing the potions she had brought on the many shelves.
While Jer watched her, his head tilted to the side, he opened his mouth several times but each time no words formed. Shaking his head at this action he knew the reason why he couldn’t speak was because the woman had surprised him. Yeah that’s it, he thought quietly as he gave himself a small reassuring nod. After all it was never like him to be timid. He was what people called a social butterfly.
Laughing quietly at that image he turned his hazel eyes to the woman just in time to see her heading his way. Watching as she walked toward him he noticed her arms that hung behind her back and her blonde hair that bounced with every move she made. Part of Jer wondered if the arms behind the back thing was a nervous habit of hers. If it was he wondered what she was nervous of. Him? Shaking his head at the thought he watched as she introduced herself and greeted him formally with an outstretched hand.
“Bothering me? No don’t worry all you bothered were some bad memories,” Jer told her flashing her his trade mark lop sided grin as he took her small hand in his. Shaking her hand he added, “It’s a pleasure to meet you Genevieve Rasmuse. I’m Jeraud, or otherwise know as Jer, Cynster. The new Medi -wizard. So therefore I’m new in that sense but in being new to Hogwarts? No. I was a student here.”
Giving the woman a small shrug he dropped her hand and glanced around them. When his eyes strayed back to Genevieve he smiled again asking, “So those potions you just brought in, made by you?”
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 22, 2008 09:34 PM (GMT)
Gens hands clasped in front of her instead of behind her, she blusehd a bit as the new man asked her if she had made those potions. She answered him hesitantly. "Well yes I did. The mediwitch asked me to make a few healing potions for her. I figured I had some free time so I accepted. They usually get thier potions from other places like the apothecary and whatnot." Gen blushed alooked away for a moment. She didnt want him to see her blushing. She could feel she was rambling and boring him with her boring life. She un tangled her hands and started rubbing them together nervously.
Gen then brished her hair back behind her ear and lookd up at him. "So. What house were you in when you went to school here?" Gen asked trying to think of a conversation that would not bore him to death. She looked around the room awaiting an asnwer and trying not to make things akward.
Jeraud Cynster - May 22, 2008 10:59 PM (GMT)
Jer watched Genevieve, waiting for her answer to his question about the potions. What he saw as he watched the woman in front of him made him smile softly. The reaction was one he commonly saw when he spoke with women. They began to get flustered and not to mention quite nervous as they spoke with him. Part of Jer hated it, but never said anything while the other half of him loved it. It was always flattering to know with one look you could make the whole female population fawn over you. Even so no matter how flattering or ego boosting it was sometimes it got on Jer’s nerves. After all he was just another human being expect for the fact he was a guy. Not much of a difference.
Tuning out his thoughts at that point Jer listened to Genevieve as she spoke about the medi witch asking her to make them. Next time he knew his fellow co workers wouldn’t have to bother the woman as he was excellent when it came to making potions. It was something he excelled at and enjoyed immensely. Jer knew if he had ever given up his dream of becoming a healer the next thing he would have done was become a potion maker. Nevertheless it hadn’t and probably wouldn’t. Glancing to Genevieve he smiled.
“Your lucky Genevieve. If I hadn’t been able to get a healing job here and since I’ve worked everywhere else I would be fighting for your job right now,” he told her jokingly as he brushed his bangs away from his hazel eyes. Jer hoped his joking manner would calm her nerves if not a little then a lot. He hated to see or anyone nervous around him.
"So. What house were you in when you went to school here?"
Hearing her sudden question Jer looked toward her as he shifted his feet trying to find a comfortable stance. Her question was simple and it was a fair way to start a conversation. Giving her a small smile he answered with, “Ravenclaw. The house of the ingellent people.” Pausing at this he noticed his mistake and quickly added with his lop sided grin, “Not that any other house isn’t intelligent or anything. It‘s just you know that‘s what us Ravenclaws are known for most. Just like Gryffindors are for their bravery.”
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 22, 2008 11:07 PM (GMT)
Gen laughed at Jers comment. "Well thank goodness you didnt fight for my job! You would have probably won." Gen blushed a bit but felt more comfortable around him now. He was very good looking. Gen couldnt keep her eyes off of him. She wanted to keep the conversation going, but she didntk now what to say. They were also standing in the hospital wing, not th greatest place for a conversation.
"Well its funny you said that. I was in Gryffindor when I was in school. I wasnt very brave though." Gen said smirking and giving Jer a soft smile. She was tryin to look and act her best around him. He gave off this aura that gen couldnt resist. She had to give a good first impression.
Gens hands stopped rubbing themselves and hung lazily at her sides. She stood for a minute, shifting her weight between her feet. She was worried that the akward silence would come upon their conversation. Think Gen think! What can you talk about! Gen brain was telling her. She finally spit it out.
"Were around the same age. Did we go to school at the same time too?" Gen knew this was a lame attempt at a conversation, but she couldnt think of anything to say for the life of her.
Jeraud Cynster - May 22, 2008 11:45 PM (GMT)
As Jer heard Gen laugh at his comment a grin spread out on his face. He was glad that she was finally passing the nerves away for other feelings. One’s that he knew were better for them both for past and present conversations. Even though she was feeling more comfortable there was no mistaking the soft pink that filled her cheeks as she spoke about him winning the place of the job. Chuckling softly he shook his head saying, “If you were to give up just like you did with telling me I’d probably win I’m sure I would. Don‘t count yourself so low.”
Saying this Jer pulled out his wand and accio’d two chairs for both him and Gen. Setting them beside each other he sat down on the one of them and patted the one next to him. Smiling he couldn’t stop himself from saying what he was about to say next. “Come and sit with me. I promise I don’t bite.” As Jer said this his voice was full of amusement as he watched to see what Gen would do. Jer knew he could sometimes be exasperating with his over rated jokes, but that never stopped him from saying them.
Sighing quietly at his thoughts Jer let his hazel eyes glance back to Gen who was staring at him. Laughing quietly he turned his head so she wouldn’t get embarrassed because he’d caught her staring. Nevertheless he turned right back to her as she spoke to him.
“Well if I recall when you introduced yourself you said you were the Head of the Gryffindor House. I guess I assumed you were in that house when you studied at Hogwarts.” Trailing off he shrugged lightly then laughed at her comment of not being very brave. “If you weren’t that brave I wonder why the sorting hat put you in Gryffindor then.” As he finished saying this he flashed her a smirk that mimicked her own before going into an awkward silence.
"Were around the same age. Did we go to school at the same time too?"
Jer was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard her sudden question that had broken their silence. Hazel eyes looking at her he asked, “Well we do look around the same age….I’m sure we did, but I have to say you don’t look familiar.” He gave her an apologetic smile as he said this. He knew if they were to really figure out if they went to Hogwarts at the same time someone would have to say there age. And since Jer knew it wasn’t right to ask a woman hers he went ahead and said, “I’m twenty four so if you take your age and subtract it from mine you’ll figure out how many years we are apart.”
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 23, 2008 12:03 AM (GMT)
Genevieve was blushing badly when he acciod 2 chairs and then invited her to sit with him. She wasnt prepared for this. She had nothign to say. She was so afraid she was going to ruin it all. She sat down hesitantly and looked at him wit ha smile, She turned away so he wouldnt see her blushing face and put her hair behind her ear. She smiled at him when she heard his comment about counting yourself too low. What did this mean? Did he think highly of her? She was a bit confused.
Gen looked at the ground and shrugged her shoulders when she heard his comment abotu her not being brave. "I guess the hat had a good reason of putting me in there or I wouldnt have been sorted into Gryffindor." She said with a weak smile, she didnt like the fact that she was a scardy cat.
She then leaned back in her chair wit hher legs crossed. "Well Im 23 years old so we were only a year apart in school. I winder why I didnt see you around." Gen said. She then thought to herself, He sure is good looking, I would have definitly noticed him in school.
Jeraud Cynster - May 23, 2008 12:55 AM (GMT)
As Jer waited for her to sit he couldn’t help but laugh aloud at her reaction. She was blushing madly and walking toward him with a hesitant smile as if he really was going to bite her. When the woman finally did sit down he turned to her his lop sided grin present as his hazel eyes took in her appearance. At least she’s smiling now, he thought to himself amusedly.
“Gen….if I may call you Gen. I just wanted to let you know there’s nothing to be nervous or embarrassed about. It’s just you and me here,” he told her softly then winced slightly as he heard himself. The you and me part probably wasn’t the best thing to say, but it was sort of right. “If it makes you feel better I’ll sit all the way across the room where all’s we can do is hear each other.” Trailing off as he said this he waited to hear her answer expectantly. He knew even if she was uncomfortable with him she wouldn’t banish him to the other side of the hospital wing. Nevertheless he waited patiently for her answer.
When Jer heard her go on about the sorting hat having a good reason when putting her into Gryffindor he chuckled quietly and nodded. The hat always did have good reasons even if they weren’t quite noticeable. He told this to Gen. “The sorting hat always has it’s reasons. Though sometimes the reasons why aren’t so noticeable. I’ll tell you the hat definitely makes some first years go insane wondering why they were put in the house they were,” he told her with a shake of the head. Jer knew he never had that problem, but some of his friends had back in their first year. “Anyways it’s best not to dwell on it for too long. The hat had it’s reasons.”
Nodding at what he said Jer glanced around at the empty hospital wing wondering if he was going to get any patients on his first day. Thinking that it was Hogwarts he knew there likely would be. Turning back to Gen he listened to her tell him her age. So now that he knew they were one year apart the not noticing her wasn’t a surprise to him.
“Well if you think about it there’s nothing mysterious about it. After all we were in different houses and a year apart so we probably wouldn’t have any classes together so….” Trailing off with a shrug he turned toward the woman with a smile. “So what was your favorite class while you were in school?”
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 23, 2008 01:05 AM (GMT)
Gen felt bad for making Jeraud think she was afraid of him. "No no Im not afraid or anything, just nervous. Never really had a guy be so comfortable around me so soon." Gen crossed her legs and sat her hands on her legs. "I have also never had a guy WANT me to talk to them." Gen said wit ha sheepish grin.
She heard him say the sorting hat has its reasons. "Oh I know. I dont worry about it anymore. Being out of school and all. It did bother me as a student though!" Gen said and laughed out loud. She rearranged herself in her chair and looked him in the eyes. She couldnt help but to stare at him. She had never had a guy this good looking and nice talk to her and WANT to talk to her.
"Well of course my favorite class was potions. But I also like Transfiguration and Charms. I excelled in those in school." Gen blushed after saying this because she hated sounding like she was bragging. "What was your favorite subject?"
Gen then saw him looking around. She felt she was keeping him from something. "Am I keeping you? I dont want to get in you way." Gen said.
Jeraud Cynster - May 23, 2008 02:01 AM (GMT)
When Jer heard Gen speak about not being afraid he smiled at her glad that wasn’t it. He knew if had been scaring her it would have been a first. A first that wouldn’t make him feel to…great either. After all scary was not something someone wanted to be known as unless of course you were some power hungry evil b*****d who actually wanted people terrified of themselves. Even so Jer knew he’d never been power hungry and probably never would be, but when it came to being an evil b*****d he knew at least once or twice in his life he had been. But those were two long stories meant for another day….maybe.
“Well that’s always good to know,” Jer announced laughing softly at the part about being afraid. “And just to let you know, I’m comfortable pretty much around anyone I meet. Also I don’t see why any guy wouldn’t want to talk to you. I mean come on look at yourself Gen. They just probably didn’t want to look like prat’s in front of a woman like yourself.” Saying this he grinned his lop sided grin hoping to reassure her that it wasn’t because of her that’s the guys didn’t want to talk to her. Plus woman, he knew from experience, loved compliments no matter how subtle.
Tuning out his annoying thought Jer turned to look at Gen just in time to catch her eyes which were now staring into his hazel ones. Smiling slightly at her he knew how hard it could be not to stare at someone. Especially someone who had magnificent dark blue eyes. Just as he thought this Jer turned from Gen braking their eye contact. I should not be thinking about things like that, he told himself just as he regained his composure quickly with a quick smile that was flashed her way. Jer knew he couldn’t have been more than relieved when his thoughts were interrupted by Gen who was answering his question.
“Well it looks like we have something in common my dear,” Jer told her. “My favorite class was also potions and I also excelled in them just like yourself. Hence why I said I would be taking your spot as Professor if it were not for my dream of healing coming true.” Smiling at her he leaned back in his chair tipping it back slowly as he heard her next question.
“Nope actually you are not. This is where I’m supposed to be today,” Jer told her as he swept his arms around the hospital wing. “I’m the lead healer on the job today. So I’m stuck in here for quite awhile. I hope that maybe, since I have no patients right now, that’d you’d like to keep me company. What do you say?”
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 23, 2008 07:53 PM (GMT)
Gen was so relieved that Jer wanted her to stay. She didnt want to leave. Gen was intrigued by Jerauds sense of composure. He was so well groomed and polite too. Gen couldnt stop smiling or staring for that matter. She knew it was a problem, but she couldnt help herself. She couldnt take her eyes off of him.
"Gen crossed her legs and faced Jer. "So you just got hired on?" Gen said cooly. She was trying to act more calm. She was a bit nervous because she was in the hospital wing with a guy she had literally just met, alone.
OOC: Sorry so short!
Jeraud Cynster - May 23, 2008 09:12 PM (GMT)
When Jer asked the question of her keeping him company he noticed that she seemed quite happy, relieved and even still a little surprised that he had asked in the first place. A part of him wanted to frown at the surprise he saw in her face because he knew something in the past must have happened that led her to keep thinking no one, specifically no guy, wanted to talk or even be in her presence. Well I’ll just have to show her that all the guys who’d spoken to her in the past were insane for not wanting to be in her company, he thought to himself with a smile.
Tuning out his thoughts Jer nodded when she asked the question of him being just hired on. He had been surprised that the Headmaster had hired him on right away. Usually, at least he thought, that the staff would want to run a full background check to check everything out or something along those lines, but Jer knew he had been wrong. He had only applied for the job three days ago and got a letter telling him he was hired the next day. Jer laughed quietly as he remembered the night he had found out. He’d gone out with his best mates and had a hell of a time. Though of course he knew Gen didn’t need to know about that part of his happiness.
“Yes I did actually,” He told her simply then added with more enthusiasm. “I was quite surprised I got hired in a matter of one day but even still the joy was all the same. I was literally jumping up and down around my apartment while holding the letter in my hands. I’m sure I agitated some of my fellow neighbor’s with the noise….” Trialing off he grinned over at Gen and shrugged in a manner that said ‘oh well’.
“Anyway enough about me. How about you Miss Rasmuse? How long have you been the potions professor around here?” He asked turning toward her his hazel eyes intent as they suddenly sparkled with amusement when he asked, “Do the students despise or love you?” After all he knew most people didn’t like potions and in turn it sometimes turned to them disliking the professor as well.
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 23, 2008 09:29 PM (GMT)
Gen sat listening to Jer talk about how quickly he got the job as a medi-wizard. "Well they probably hired you on so quickly because they could just tell you were a nice guy." Gen said sheepishly. She knew that guys liked comments just as much as girls.
Gen then heard him ask about herself. "Well actually I just got hired on as potions professor about a week ago. What luck that we ran into eachother. It must have been meant to happen." Gen said. Jer asked Gen about how the other students like her. Gen giggled and said, "Well actually they students like me very much! Im trying a different approach at potions. Tying to make it more fun, and I think the students are really enjoying it" Gen was beaming. She like to talk about how her class is fun and how the students enjoy it.
Gen turned to Jer and thought for a moment. "Theres really not much to say about me. I come from France, got hired on here, and loving every minute of it. So what do you do for fun Jer?" Gen asked amusingly.
Jeraud Cynster - May 23, 2008 10:06 PM (GMT)
Jer laughed aloud when he heard Gen’s compliment. Just like women guys were always up for any compliment made towards them. Even so Jer tried to make sure they didn’t get to his head too much. After all he didn’t want to become an egotistical jerk. Thinking about it Jer knew it would be quite a scene if he ever became something he didn’t like. He knew if that ever happened he would be fighting with himself non stop. The looks I would get, he thought amusedly with a shake of his head.
“Well I thank you for the compliment Gen, but if they hired their staff only on account of the person being nice well….let’s just say Hogwarts would be quite different from now,” Jer said smiling over at the woman sitting next to him. “I guess I just thought the Headmaster would have done quite a through search of my background since I’m dealing with the health of his students. Who knows maybe he did. Every Headmaster that’s worked her is always mysterious and not to mention an amazing wizard.”
Trailing off Jer listened on to Gen as she went ahead and answered his question. When she spoke about them meeting being fate he chuckled softly. He wasn’t one much more fate, but even so it never hurt to wonder. Putting those thoughts away for now Jer listened on as Gen spoke with pride and enthusiasm about her class and students. He could instantly tell that she loved to teach. Something that most wouldn’t even dare to try. To him he thought it was great Gen got along with her students. He knew from experience it was better that way.
“Well I’m glad to hear you’ve gotten along with the students. After all you know how it usually goes. If the students don’t like the class they tend to not like the teacher either,” Jer said shrugging lightly as he moved in the chair to find a more comfortable position. When Gen went on to speak his lop sided grin came into place. What he liked to do for fun? The list he knew would take to long to recite so instead he took the simple route and told her only his favorite things.
“Well I love hanging out with my best mates. I’m sure that’s a given for anyone. And I love to play a game of quiddtich every now and then. You know can’t loose the feel of the game,” he said winking at her playfully before going on. “Ummm I love to sit and watch storms. That may sound strange I know but still it’s something I like to do.” Shrugging at his last comment he turned to her hazel eyes and all and asked, “How about yourself?”
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 23, 2008 10:18 PM (GMT)
Gen was a little sad when Jer said something about how he loved to play quidditch. "Oh, I never got into the game." Gen said slowly. "But I like to watch storms too. We should do that together sometime." After Gen said this she blushed. She practically asked Jer out on a date, but not really a date. Gen was confusing herself.
Gen watched ats Jer chuckled at Gens remark abotu him being nice. "Yeah the school would be a lot different if they hired just nice people." Gen said wil a smirk. She flashed a smile at him. She got more comfortable in her chair and faced Jer more directly.
"What I like to do for fun?" Gen repeated back. "I like to brew potions in my spare time, I know thats nerdy but I like it. I also like to be outdoors, just looking at the scenery, hanging with friends like you said, is fun for everyone, and I like to write and draw a bit too." Gen smiled and bruhed her hair out of her face.
Gen figured it was new or never, she wanted to ask Jer otu on a date so bad. Usually the guys ask the girls but Gen was so afraid that he would nt ask her and shed miss the chance. Maybe she would wait just a bit longer...
Jeraud Cynster - May 23, 2008 10:54 PM (GMT)
When Jer heard Gen answer with a hint of sadness in her voice about Quidditch he nodded slowly to show her he was listening. It seemed to Jer that was one thing they didn’t have in common. The thought that she didn’t care for Quidditch made him frown slightly. Quidditich had always been apart of his life especially during his time at Hogwarts. After all he had been one of the Ravenclaw chasers since his third year. It wasn’t something he knew he wouldn’t give up anytime soon, if ever.
Pulling out of his thoughts on Quidditch though Jer commented on what she liked to do for fun. “That’s alright Quidditch just isn’t some people’s favorite thing in the world,” he told her giving her a small smile of reasurance as he watched her blush. His smile widened at this and the comment she made about them watching a storm together. He knew when the soft pink surfaced into her cheeks she’d realized what she had just said. Being the gentlemen though he didn’t make fun of her but instead simply said, “Maybe we will.”
Trailing off at that Jer watched as Gen turned to face him more directly. In turn he did the same thing his body now facing her along with his eyes which watched her intently. When she went along to answer his question on what she liked to do for fun he nodded here and there to let her know he was listening. To him it was the polite and not to mention respectful thing to do. Once she finished though he flashed her a smile as she brushed the hair away from her face.
“Nerdy? So you’re calling me nerdy? You know that’s not the best way to make a friend Gen,” he told her with his lop sided grin. He was joking with her and he hoped she figured that out. Otherwise things would turn a little awkward so to say. “Anyways….write and draw huh? Do you think your good?” As he asked this he tilted his head to the side waiting for her reply. The action almost made him look like a confused dog but of course Jer didn’t mind or even notice. It was habit of his one that was just like any other, hard to break.
While he waited for her to answer Jer couldn’t help but pick up on the new mood she was sending out. It was as if she wanted to say something but held her tongue back. As he thought on what she could be wanting to ask his curiosity grew so strong that he finally just blurted out, “Do you want to say something Gen?” Once he noticed what he said Jer flashed her a small smile his hazel eyes looking apologetic as he watched her expectantly.
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 23, 2008 11:09 PM (GMT)
Gen laughed at Jers comment abotu calling him nerdy. "Of course Im not calling you nerdy." She said giggling. "Im the nerdy one! I make potions and dont liek quidditch." She said with a reassuring laugh that she was also just kidding. She was watching Jer look at her. It was nice. He was nice. He was perfect for Gen. But how could she say anything?
No sooner did Gen think this, she heard Jer ask, "Do you want to say something, Gen?" Her face turned completley red and there was no way she was going to be able to hide it. She tried to hide it with her hair and even by turning around, but of course, him seeing her face was inevitable. Gen thought to herselffor a minute. I HAVE to ask him now! But where would we go? What if he denies me?
Gen finally mustered up the courage and spat it out. "Would like to go out with me sometime?" She didnt even realize what she had said until after she said it. She blushed very badly after saying this hoping that all would be well.
Jeraud Cynster - May 24, 2008 01:59 AM (GMT)
Jer laughed aloud as he listened to Gen apologized to him over the nerdy comment. He wondered if she got that he too liked to brew potions sometimes in his spare time. One reason was for the enjoyment of it but the other reason was so he could keep up his skill so to say. He didn’t want to loose his good ability to make potions as he knew it could in some ways hinder him. After all he usually made all his own potions. Jer was one person he knew he could trust to make them correctly.
“Well the only reason why I said that was because I too like to make potions in my spare time also. So don’t feel so alone when calling yourself nerdy.” Relaying this to Gen Jer smiled over at her. As he did this Jer’s thoughts turned to his memories one in particular over clouding them all. He cringed slightly remembering it clearly. It was the first time and last time he had ever messed up while making a potion. Looking back he remembered how terrified he had been when his mother, Cassandra, had come home to see the mess he had made. He could see it now. The dishes flung everywhere, the kitchen table melted to almost nothing and not to mention his shirt also.
Shaking his head suddenly Jer pushed his memories back and let his mind come back to the present. He knew he shouldn’t have been drifting off like that for more than one reason and he quickly glanced to Gen mumbling an apology like a little boy who had just been caught stealing a cookie from the cookie jar. Though he noticed instantly when he looked to Gen that she seemed to be very flustered with her red cheeks.
Jer continued to watch her as she tried to hide her face from him which were still beat red from blushing. He opened his mouth to speak at least twice before thinking it would probably be best to just wait for her to answer his last question. When she finally did muster up the courage and spit out her answer he finally realized what had been bothering through out there conversation. Giving her a reassuring smile Jer thought carefully on his answer.
He knew he just met Gen, but she seemed like a nice enough of a woman. Plus he had to admit she was very good looking with her short curly blonde hair and dark blue eyes. Even so the thought of them just meeting came to his mind and he had to keep himself from frowning. Turning to Gen he finally spoke.
“Well Gen I have to tell you the truth the only thing that is bothering me is that we just met, but then again if we went out we could get to know each other,” saying this Jer shook his head laughing quietly at what he’d just said knowing it didn’t make much sense. “Okay you know what to hell with it. I’ll go out with you. Though I think it’s best we get to know each other better and become friends before anything else happens.” Smiling at her he watched her with his hazel eyes. He wanted to make his last point clear. All he wanted first was to get to know her. He didn’t want to hurt her feelings by saying this, but it just wasn’t Jer’s character to go off and start going out with woman he just met.
OOC: Okay Gen if this sounds funny at any point I'm sorry. I was trying to post it for you before you left for the weekend.

Gen looked at Jer in amazement. She felt kind of bad for pressuring him into going out with her. "Well you dont have to if you dont want to. But I think it would be a good way to get to know eachother." Gen smiled hoping that this statement would save her a bit. She felt so stupid. And where would they even go? Gen ahd no idea. She was nowhere near ready for this.
Gen stayed sitting only because she was too afraid to move. She really liked Jeraud so far, but had the feeling that he didnt like her as much. Maybe he did and he was just being a gentleman. Or maybe he just felt bad for Gen. All Gen knew is that she had to go with it now. Shes already started the damage by asking him out.
Gen got into a more comfortable position in her chair and looked at Jer with her most not-embarassed face. She smiled awaiting a response.

Jer watched as Gen’s face turned into a hideout for emotions. There was so many that shined through her expressions that he wasn’t sure which was which. The one that he did happen to notice and name though was amazement. He smiled at her with a shake of his head. It seemed he had once again surprised the beautiful blonde.
“Don’t look so surprised Gen. It makes me sad to know you don’t think of yourself so well. At least to me it seems like you don‘t. After all you seem like an amazing witch and I have to admit your quite beautiful,” Saying this Jer flashed her a smile though he really wanted to frown. He hadn’t met someone who had such low self esteem in quite sometime. Part of Jer wanted to reach over and shake Gen senseless. He knew she shouldn’t be feeling that way.
“And yes I’m sticking to my word. We are going to go out and have fun whether you like or not, my dear.” Saying this Jer flashed her a soft smile as he thought. Glancing around the room he wondered where they would go. He assumed she couldn’t go very far at all since she was a Professor so he decided to go some where close. A place where they wouldn’t be pressured. A place where two friends could sit and talk.
At his sudden thoughts Jer glanced to Gen hazel eyes fixed on her as he said, “I know this might not be the best place to go, but it is close and comfortable. Next time, when you have a day off, I’ll take you some place else, but for now how does the Three Broomsticks sound? If not I am certainly up for suggestions.” Smiling to Gen he sat back in his chair waiting for her response.
OOC: Ehh not one of my best posts, sorry. =]

Gens heart was racing. She knew that she was always downing herself and this was not an atractive thing, but she couldnt help it. Gen had never thought highly of herself. She knew she was pretty and fun and all that, but she wasnt anything special.
Gen had almost flew out of her chair when Jer told her they were going to the three broomsticks. "No no thats a fine place to go. We dont have to go anywhere nice. Were just getting to know eachother, remember?" Gen said flashing Jer a smile. Gen stood up and walked around for a minute."Well what are we waiting for?" Gen said smiling. "Lets go!"
