Potion: Felix Felicis

Answer: Lady luck finds a potion in Felix Felicis! Felix Felicis is commonly known as a lucky potion. When brewed correctly, it gives the drinker a certain amount of pure luck for up to 24 hours, or even more! The potion is complex to make, and therefore is not very common, but rather rare. It is outlawed in sporting events, because the drinker becomes successful in every activity he or she competes in.

Felix Felicis is dangerous however; it can be toxic if taken too often, or in excessive quantities. Although it has astonishing powers, the drinker may been giddy or overconfident is they consume too much. Dangerously reckless activity may also be a fault of the potion. Although the amount you drink depends on your luckiness, a potential drinker should be aware of the consequences, not only the luckiness in liquid form. It is truly a remarkable potion, but its consumption should be taken carefully.

My Favorite Potion

My favorite potion is the Wit-sharpening potion. It is used to make the drinker think more clearly. This potion would be very useful during test except no teachers will allow it. Many teachers believe that it GIVES studentst the answers but it just keeps them from being distracted. It is also forbidden in sports because it is too close to the Felix Felics potion.

It is a medium level potion so it is somewhat hard to brew. If it is brewed wrong there are consequences. When the misbrewed potion is drank by a person they are extremely unlucky for 48 hours or more. If the potion is drank to much the bearer tends to act like a know-it-all. Then if they do not drink any more they will throw-up and return to normal. The Wit-sharpening potion is the most useful potion there is.

Polyjuice potion

Ingrediants

lacewing flies stewed 21 days,
leeches,
powdered bicorn horn,
knotgrass,
fluxweed picked at full moon,
shredded boomslang skin,
a bit of who one wants to turn into

My favorite potion is definatly the polyjuice potion. It is the mischiefs makers secret weopon. The polyjuice potion makes the drinker look and sound excactly like the person that the potion was made to immitate. The effects of this potion last for just one hour though doses can be renewed indefinatly. One dose is roughly the size of a testtube (16ml) When finished the polyjuice potion varies in appearance according to whomever it is you are transorfming into.

The polyjuice potion is a tricky potion to brew and if done improperly can have horrible results. It takes a full month to brew and needs attending to frequently. The polyjuice potion is not intended for animals and if attempted to be used for animal transformation dreadful side affects may occur. Polyjuice potion is a banned substance unless used by special permit of the ministry of magic.

Draught of Peace

This potion is definitely my favorite out of all the potions i've learned to brew. It's ingredients include powdered moonstone and syrup of hellebore. The first reason it is at the top of my list is because of the challenge it creates. This potion is one of the most tricky. I like being challenged in school and the things I do. It keeps things interesting and it keeps me on my toes always. Plus, when I am confronted with something that is causing me difficulty, I tend to keep trying until I get it. It increases my level of perserverance.

A second reason I love the Draught of Peace is because of it's effects. The Draught of Peace calms and soothes it's drinker. One of the big things we face as students is stress. We have to be teenagers, we have to deal with schoolwork, and we have to balance our reputations on top of all of it. The Draught of Peace allows you to slow down, relax, and think of your priorities. It lets you take a break with what your thinking about, and come back to it with a clearer, more relaxed mind.

Potions - Lesson 1

Veritasrum

When it comes to potions I have to admit I don’t really have a favorite. Even so when I think back to all the potions I’ve heard and learned about over the years I know one in particular that would be very helpful in some situations. The potion I’m speaking about is called Veritasrum and it happens to be known as one of the most powerful truth serums ever made. When Veritasrum is taken by anyone they are forced to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. It’s been told that this truth serum is so powerful that three or two drops can have the drinker spilling their innermost secrets.

Being as powerful as it is Veritasrum is controlled by very strict Ministry guidelines. Nevertheless, any student who has achieved a N.E.W.T. in potions would, rather should, be able to make this powerful serum. The potion is said to take a full moon-cycle to mature while it’s being made though if that’s correct we aren‘t sure. When the potion is said to be complete it takes on this colorless and odorless appearance making it seem like plain old drinking water. Even so no matter how helpful or amazing this potion can be when it comes to finding out the truth one would not want to take this on a regular basis, not even once in their life. Unless of course they want the whole magical world to know their secrets.

Polyjuice Potion

ingredients:

Effect: Transforms a person to look exactly like someone else. One dose lasts for one hour, but doses can be renewed, for as long as needed.

Before the last ingredient is added - the bit of the person being transformed into - the potion looks like thick dark mud and bubbles sluggishly. Afterwards the potion will change color to reflect the person you are changing into.

Polyjuice potion cannot be used to turn into an animal. However, it can be used to turn into another gender being, and it will account missing limbs.

Polyjuice is brewed in a month. It is difficult and tricky to brew. I chose the Polyjuice potion because it is an interesting potion, and very effective if you want to disguise yourself as someone else. As I am considering a career as an Auror, I think knowing about the Polyjuice potion is very important.

Potion of Choice: Amortentia
Amortentia is commonly mixed up with the common “Love Potion.” It is Recognizable by its distinctive mother-of-pearl sheen and by the fact that its steam rises in characteristic spirals. The potion smells differently to different people according to what attracts them. Although this potion does not make the person fall in love with the target, it makes them more attracted to it. Despitefully, it will only enhances the person’s form of attraction, so saying this person hates you and you give them this potion they will hate you more. If this person likes you as only a friend chances are, you’ll become the person’s best friend by giving said person the potion. That is why Amortentia is a risky potion, and should not be used regularly.
I like this potion because it has created so many love stories, and so many fantasy such as Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream”. It has made so many people believe in Love and to finally find that “special someone.” OOC: Geeeeez, I thought Friday I was done with homework for good! ;]
