Title: Absolute Boredom
Description: Open to everyone
Zane Hart - May 23, 2008 11:03 PM (GMT)
Zane walked though the Grounds with both hands stuffed inside his pockets in thought, ‘What to do what to do.’ He thought as he stopped and looked around at the plain totally quiet area. “This place can be so boring at times…” Zane muttered as he resumed walking. After a few more minutes of walking around in pretty much a circle and talking to himself he decided that entertainment will present itself in time. So he sat down under a large tree giving him much shade and took out a candy bar opening it up, it was chocolate and taking a bite giving off a loud cracking noise as he snapped the chocolate in half. ‘There is only one thing I love more then magic and flying broom sticks. And that’s chocolate!’ He thought happily in his mind as he swallowed the chocolate and leaned back against the tree.
Rebecca Emery - May 23, 2008 11:19 PM (GMT)
Rebecca sighed in irritation as once again the breeze blew her long brown hair into her face. That's the fifth time today, she thought with exasperation while she dug into one of her cloak pockets for a hair tie. When her small hand finally collided with one she smiled to herself and pulled it out. She instantly pulled her hair back and into a ponytail letting it fall against the nape of her neck.
Once Rebecca finished her task she continued her slow pace along the grounds. Letting her blue eyes search the surrounding area she took in all the people out on the cool day. When her eyes happened to glance to the left of her she couldn’t help but smile at the tree that stood alone in the shade. Thinking it the perfect spot to sit and watch the other people she made her way over though soon noticed as she got within five feet of the tree someone, a boy to be exact, had taken her spot.
Frowning slightly Rebecca turned to head away but then thought better of it and turned right back around and headed toward the boy instead. When she was standing in front of him she looked down upon him her blue eyes noticing the chocolate bar in his hand. Without even thinking Rebecca went ahead and asked, "Hey is the chocolate any good?"
When she finished her question Rebecca mentally cursed herself. What kind of question is that, she thought to herself as she shook her head at her foolishness. At that moment she wanted to walk away to save herself from any embarrassment but knew she couldn't. So instead she stood their watching him expectantly.
Zane Hart - May 23, 2008 11:30 PM (GMT)
Zane heard something and looked up at a girl probably a year younger then him across from him and staring. Something clicked in Zane’s mind making him jump back losing his grip on the chocolate bar and slamming his head back into the trunk of the tree. Zane immediately grabbed his hand with both of his hands and watched helplessly as his chocolate bar some how rolled down the hill and plopping into the lake. Zane momentary forgot the pain in his head and asked himself how does a thin rectangular go about rolling down a hill and managing to fall into the lake. He visible eye twitched slightly at the uncomment event when her remembered the girl still in front of him. He raised his head rubbing it slightly and answered. “Well it was good…would have liked to finish the rest of it though.”
Rebecca Emery - May 23, 2008 11:39 PM (GMT)
As Rebecca watched the events unfold before her. Her blue eyes turned wide. She hadn't meant to scare him. She really hadn't. When she heard him answer her question she instantly felt bad. Frowning over to the spot where the chocolate had fallen into the lake Rebecca thought on how she didn't expect this reaction to her comment. Shaking her thoughts away though she turned back to the boy who was now holding his head wincing just a little.
"Are you alright? I'm so sorry about your head and your chocolate. I really didn't mean to scare you it wasn't my purpose..." Trailing off as she noticed she was rambling Rebecca kneeled down in front of the boy smiling just slightly. "Did you hit your head really hard?" She asked wanting to make sure he was okay. After all she didn't want to be the cause of his pain.
Zane Hart - May 23, 2008 11:46 PM (GMT)
Zane nodded and tried to stand up and only succeeded in knocking heads with the girl falling back and slamming his head once again on the trunk of the tree making several leafs fall from it. Normally he wouldn’t be half as clumsy as he currently is but something about this girl was making him not think straight. And he didn’t like it. He rubbed the back of his head with his right hand and forehead with his left groaning louder at his newly unwelcome guest called a headache. “Yea…I…think…im aright…to a certain extent...” Zane said cracking a grin. “Sorry, didn’t mean to ehhh, head butt you.” He laughed nervously to himself rubbing his head more in embarrassment then trying to reduce the surging pain..
Rebecca Emery - May 23, 2008 11:58 PM (GMT)
As Rebecca waited for the boy's reply she watched as he stood up to only trip and bump heads wit her. Instantly Rebecca moved back sitting on her bottom as she rubbed her forehead. She let out a sigh at the immediate pain from the colliding. Letting herself glance up toward the boy she saw just in time as he fell back and hit his head on the back of the tree once again. The sight made her cringe her blue eyes closing for a fraction of a second as she took a deep breathe. This was not the meeting I had planned, she thought to herself tiredly before removing her hand away from her forehead which now held a red mark.
Listening to the boy finally answer her question and apologize for his clumsiness Rebecca smiled over at him. She knew he had not meant it but even so she knew he was probably embarrassed. So knowing this she went on to reassure him everything was alright.
"It's okay, don't worry about it. It happens to the best of us," she told him then let her blue eyes stray to the back of his head where she saw his hand rubbing continuously. Frowning slightly she moved towards him saying, "Hey let me check the back of your head. I want to make sure your not bleeding or anything after all you hit it pretty hard on that tree twice. And no offence but just don't move." Flashing him a smile as she said her last comment she paused waiting for his nod or words to tell her she could go ahead and look.
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 12:09 AM (GMT)
Zane laughed and nodded as he rested his head on the palms of his hand after knocking stray wood from his silky soft and smooth black hair. “Um, sure you can take a look. I doubt im bleeding though ive been told I have a pretty hard head.” He looked up and frowned as he noticed the mark her left on her forehead. For some reason he unknowingly reached out and pressed his left hand on her forehead and sent a weak transmission of healing magic. Zane’s mother was a healer and taught him a very basic spell that didn’t require a wand. He smiled to himself as the mark went away but jumped back once again slamming his head against the tree for the third time when he had noticed what he had done. “…….” He made a loud suppressed notice as he fell flat on his stomach under the tree as a leaf fell on his noise. “Forgetting about the pain he stared at the leaf blinking.
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 12:24 AM (GMT)
Rebecca watched as he moved his black hair away for her to look. When he made his comment of having a hard head she laughed softly and moved toward him to look though stopped abruptly when she felt his sudden hand on her forehead. Her immediate reaction was to move back but the sudden heat she felt being sent from his hand to her forehead kept her still. Rebecca had to admit she hadn't expected the touch but when it was gone a frown fell upon her lips.
The frown though soon deepened though as she watched him jump back as if suddenly realizing what he had done. This action left him once again slamming his head into the tree. Sighing deeply she couldn't quite help but think the boy to be quite jumpy. As Rebecca watched him fall to the ground leaving him lying on his stomach she watched as leaf fell on to his nose. Moving over to him she extended her hand.
"Okay mister I think you need to move away from this tree and any other tree on the grounds. You are way too clumsy," she told him good naturedly as she waited for him to take her hand so she could help him up. He's certainly a different one, she thought to herself while waiting.
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 12:31 AM (GMT)
Zane blew the leaf off his nose and stood up grabbing her hand standing up straight. “Im not clumsy…it’s just something about…” He stopped and rephrased his reply. “Im not NORMALLY clumsy, maybe it’s the lack of chocolate in my system.” He lied perfectly keeping his perfected stoic poker face as he reached into his deep trench coat pocket and pulled out two large chocolate bars. He handed the girl one and opened the other one and took a bite causing another loud cracking noise.
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 12:41 AM (GMT)
Rebecca watched as he blew the leaf off his nose before he took her hand and stood up. She couldn't stop the small laugh that had escaped her lips at the action. Even so it died as she listened to him go on about how he wasn't clumsy. When he paused and then rephrased his sentence she gave him a small smile not saying anything about his rephrasing but instead took the chocolate that was given to her.
"Well then I guess you better eat the chocolate right up then. We don't want you hurting yourself again," she told him her voice filled with amusement as she unwrapped the chocolate bar and bit into it. Savoring the piece she couldn't help the grin that brightened her face when she finally swallowed. "Thank you for this. It's delicious." As she told him this she pointed to the chocolate bar before taking another bite.
While she chewed Rebecca glanced around them before suddenly remembering she hadn't introduced herself. Turning to him she extended her hand for a formal greeting. Swallowing her piece of chocolate she said with a smile, "By the way I'm Rebecca, Rebecca Emery."
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 12:48 AM (GMT)
Zane smiled as he extended and shook her hand. “Im Zane Hart It’s a pleasure.” He said bowing slightly as he wrapped his candy up and dropped it in his pocket for later. He flexed his right hand slightly noticing that it’s getting stiffer a sign that he would have to clean it soon it if wanted to avoid not using it and possibly pain. He brushed more dirt from his hair and winced as he touched a sensitive part of his head. “Ok, maybe my head isn’t as hard as im lead to believe.” He muttered sighing. "But im fine no need to worry." He said quickly waveing his hands around.
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 01:01 AM (GMT)
Rebecca smiled wide when he introduced himself. Zane, she thought to herself quietly. It wasn't a name you heard often of, not that it was a bad thing. All it meant, at least to her, was that it was unique. And unique wasn't something people saw or head of often. It was a shame at least Rebecca though so. Uniqueness made people different and different was a good thing.
Sighing quietly to herself at where her thoughts had roamed she toned them down and listened to Zane. Hearing his mumbled words she frowned. She knew no matter how hard of a head someone had there was something bound to hurt them. Even so when he waved his hands in the air and told her he was okay she nodded slowly.
"If you sure," Rebecca told him her blue eyes watching him for a moment before she told herself she was staring. Glancing away she took one more bite of the chocolate she'd been given then asked remembering his warm touch earlier, "So Zane....what were you doing when you touched my forehead earlier? I mean I felt this weird heat, well not exactly weird…but anyways…" Trailing off as she said this she unknowingly brushed a hand over her forehead where he had touched her going into her own thoughts.
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 01:18 AM (GMT)
“Hmm?” He wondered and nodded. “Oh yes that, sorry about that. I pretty much healed your bruise, my mother is a Healer she taught me several different things. I can’t say it’s not helpful but it really doesn’t interest me.” Zane said motioning his head to the side staring at her as she went into thought. “You ok?” He laughed. “I thought I lost you for a second you totally zoned out there.” Zane nodded to himself as he looked around the grounds, it should be around noon. The hottest part of the day. He sighed already feeling the rays of the sun beat down at him as he quickly removed his coat revealing a purple tank top not his normal dress like shirt. He hung the coat in a branch and leaned his back against the tree. “You might want to get further into the shade the sun is coming out…”
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 01:29 AM (GMT)
When Rebecca heard his reply she nodded mumbling a thank you for his thoughtfulness thinking she should have known it was some sort of healing magic. Even so she was pulled out of her thoughts by his laugh. Blushing a little embarrassment hit her with full speed. She hadn't even noticed she was lost in thought. If she had it wouldn’t have been so embarrassing as Zane asking her if she was okay. Even so she knew she it already happened and she couldn't go back and change it.
"Yeah I'm okay, sorry. I do that every once in while so when your around me and I start to daze off just yell at me," Rebecca told Zane with a smile her embarrassment fleeting a little. As they went into a surprisingly comfortable silence Rebecca watched as he took off his coat and moved away to set it on a branch in the tree. Her blue eyes watching him she glanced up to the sky when he spoke about the sun.
Moving over back to the tree she stood in front of him and bit her bottom lip out of habit before asking, "So Zane….what were you planning on doing before I came and rudely interrupted you?"
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 01:35 AM (GMT)
“You mean before I bashed my head in three times?” He laughed again. “Well honestly nothing I was waiting on entertainment to present itself and I have to admit it did.” He grinned rubbing his head. “Not that I find pain very enjoyable I would rather bash my head in and talk to you then not and be bored.” Zane said grabbing his hair and tying it into a pony tail revealing his entire face and not just half of it. He doesn’t like showing his entire face and only does it in front of his family or closest friends but for some reason he felt comfortable with her. He shock his head from those kind of thoughts and looked back at her. “What where you doing before we bumped heads I mean?”
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 01:51 AM (GMT)
Rebecca couldn't help but laugh along with Zane as she heard his answers. She also had to admit meeting him had definitely been quite an adventure so far, so to say. Though when he went on to speak about how he would rather experience bashing his head and talking to her than being bored she shook her head in slight disbelief a smile on her face.
"There's something different from us Zane. I think I would have rather been bored. The talking with you part is good but bumping heads? Nah not so fun" Pausing at this point she shrugged before adding, "I guess it all comes in one package though." Trailing off Rebecca watched as he pulled his long black hair away from his face and into to a pony tail.
Instantly Rebecca took to studying his face with her blue eyes. She had to admit he didn't look that bad with his whole face showing. At those thoughts she turned her eyes away from his face because she knew it was rude to stare. Nevertheless as she looked to the side of him she said, "You should wear your hair up more often." After all she got a feeling he was one of those people who hardly wore it up.
OOC: Ehh sorry if the post is confusing.
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 01:58 AM (GMT)
Zane laughed nodded to her as she talked about wearing his hair up “Well ill wear my hair up if you wear your down im sure you would look very beautiful” He gave one of his charming grins to try and convenes her. ‘Hope it works…’ He thought to himself as he grinned wider making sure the light reflected off his pearly white teeth and waited in tense expectation.
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 02:16 AM (GMT)
When Rebecca heard Zane's comment her blue eyes instantly turned to look at him. Seeing him flash her a charming grin she felt her cheeks warm. She knew that meant she was blushing and immediately Rebecca cursed herself mentally. It had been quite awhile since she'd ever gotten comment like that from a guy and she couldn't help but react like every other female in the world would. Even though she was surprised with what he said she complied with his request.
"The only reason why I put it up was because of the breeze. One bad thing about having long hair is that it always flies into your face..."Trailing off Rebecca knew she only said that to try to take him from noticing the blush that had formed on her cheeks. Even so she knew in her mind it wouldn't work.
Sighing slightly at her thoughts Rebecca reached behind her and pulled the hair tie out of her hair and let her long brown hair fall onto her shoulders. Shaking it out she ran her hands through it to get the bump in the back out that would have been made from having it up in a pony tail. As she finished her task she glanced up to Zane her blue eyes expectant as she twirled in spot before blushing even more.
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 02:33 AM (GMT)
Zane laughed and nodded. “See I was right you are beautiful with you hair down, well not that your not beautiful with it up I mean uhh, ehh, ermm…” He stumbled for the correct set of words and scratched his head. “What I mean is that you are uhh, beautiful in general yeah that’s right.” He nodded to himself again crossing his arms glad that he found a way to explain. Zane noticed a pinkish tint on her face and moved in closer to her face looking blank. “You ok? You look a little red.” He pressed brushed some hairs from her forehead and rested his hand against her. “Hm, you feel alright.” He removed his hand and shrugged in confusion not noticing how dense he can be.
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 02:44 AM (GMT)
"Thank you very much Zane," Rebecca told him smiling as he went right along with fumbling over the compliments he was giving her. She had got what he meant from the very beginning, but she thought that it was fun to watch him struggle for a moment. When he stopped though and crossed his arms across his chest satisfied that he had finally said what he meant she shook her head. Guys, she thought to herself amusedly.
Tuning her thoughts out Rebecca jumped slightly when she saw Zane close in on her. Watching him her blue eyes became a little wide. What is he doing, she thought nervously. After a few seconds though Rebecca suddenly realized by what he said and his actions that he thought she was sick. Laughing aloud she turned to look at him a grin on her face.
"Zane...." She said quietly. "I'm fine. My cheeks were just pink because I was blushing." As she finished her sentence Rebecca watched him with amused eyes waiting to his what his reaction would be.
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 02:54 AM (GMT)
Zane looked confused again when she laughed and both of his eyes widened as she revealed the rest of her sentence. ‘Wow -1 for Zane good job there buddy at this rate you will hit 1st base riiiiiiight about never….’ His subconscious said rolling it’s imaginary eyes at him. He blushed slightly himself and avoided eye contact. “Uhh, yeah, I knew that…” He muttered.
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 03:03 AM (GMT)
As Rebecca watched Zane blush and avoid eye contact with her she couldn't help but laugh aloud again. She knew her laughter would probably only embarrass him more but she couldn't help it. It was like she had a switch and once the switch was pushed to on her laughter could not be controlled. More like if she wanted to laugh or not could not be controlled. Thinking this Rebecca took a deep breathe and calmed herself.
"It's alright Zane, as I've said before it happens to the best of us," she told him her voice soft as she watched his face. She waited for him to turn around, wondering briefly if he ever would. At those thoughts she had the sudden feeling to reach out and turn his face toward her but kept her arms firmly against her sides. Instead she went ahead a spoke to him.
"Hey come on turn around. No use hiding our blushes or mistakes now. We are after all only human," Rebecca announced a smile one her face as she waited for Zane to turn around.
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 03:09 AM (GMT)
Zane snapped out of his internal complex and turned back around. “Heh, sorry I kind of spaced out also I guess where even huh?” He sat back ground stretching out under the tree and closed one eye while looking at her with the other. “What year?” He asked crossing his legs. “This is my fifth…yours?”
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 03:22 AM (GMT)
Rebecca watched as Zane finally turned toward her. She smiled when he did the smile brightening her face. When he went on to say they were even for they both had spaced out now she nodded in agreement. It's didn't matter to her if they were or not, but she agreed anyways. Oh well, she thought to herself as she sat down on the grass under the tree which shaded her from the sun.
When Rebecca turned to glance as Zane she saw him close one of his eyes and keep his opened one trained on her. Listening to his question she smiled slightly and answered with, "We're only one year apart. I'm a fourth year and Hufflepuff. Thought I might as well say that while were on the subject of our years." Shrugging lightly she turned to him asking, "What house do you reside in?"
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 03:27 AM (GMT)
Zane was right when he thought they were around a year apart and opened yawned slightly as he listened to her question and replied. “Slytherin, you?” He asked curious. A stretched out more until stopping and returning his full attention on her waiting for an asnwer.
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 03:36 AM (GMT)
As Rebecca heard Zane's answer and watched his actions she frowned slightly. His mood seemed to change from happy while talking to her to then bored as if she herself was boring him. It confused her completely but even so she kept her thoughts to herself as she smiled at him.
"I'm in Hufflepuff, which I just told you," she answered laughing slightly at his mistake. It seemed to her he made a lot of them. Not that it was such a bad thing. After as the old saying went you learn from your mistakes. Even so Rebecca had a feeling it would probably get rather annoying. Shaking her thoughts away Rebecca went ahead and glanced at Zane before speaking.
"So....have you always gone to Hogwarts?" Rebecca knew she was trying to keep their conversation going because she had enjoyed Zane's company but the sudden change in his mood made her wonder if their meeting was going to be cut short.
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 03:41 AM (GMT)
Zane blinked at he noticed his sudden change in attitude. He must be hanging around Flame to long. He laughed at the thought of him becoming like Flame and sat back up smiling at her. “Sorry about that, im kind of sleepy from all that chocolate I ate.” He apologized and answered her question. “Yea always, I love it here, to bad your only here for seven years. I might take a job here as a professor just to stay but I honestly cant see myself teaching anyone my patience isn’t high enough I would end up jinxing them. He laughed to himself.
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 03:55 AM (GMT)
As Rebecca listened to Zane sit up and laugh she raised an eyebrow in confusion. She shook her head in wonder. She didn't know what he was playing at but it was starting to make her feel uncomfortable. She obviously didn't understand his ways and wished silently that she did so she could understand his mood swings a lot better. Though as she didn't know Rebecca knew she was just going to have to deal with being confused.
"It's alright Zane," Rebecca replied after he apologized and went on to answer her question. She smiled at his answer knowing she felt the same way. Hogwarts was like, as many described it, her second home. It was a magical and mysterious place. She couldn't see how anyone wouldn’t fall in love with the place. Nevertheless she knew there would always be those weird bunches of kids who disagreed with half of the student population.
"I know what you mean. I've been going here since first year also and I have to say it's something I wouldn't change. I love Hogwarts. It's an amazing place," Rebecca said smiling as she pulled her arms up to her chest and laid her head to rest on them while she watched another student pass them in a run.
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 04:01 AM (GMT)
Zane nodded as he leaned back looking over at the student that just rushed pass them. He shrugged and scratched his head. “Heh, I have nothing else to talk about. Umm, where are you from?” He asked as a random question popped into his head.
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 04:07 AM (GMT)
Head still rested on her knees Rebecca glanced over at Zane as he spoke. She knew the feeling. It seemed their conversation was going down hill. Something that she didn't particularly care for as she never liked dead conversation. Even so Rebecca didn't want to stop their conversation so blue eyes looking at Zane she spoke.
"I'm from Cardiff actually. Lived there all my life with my mum and dad. It's beautiful place I'll tell you that," she answered smiling at the thought of her city. It wasn't anything special but to her it was. It's where she lived her life for the past fourteen years and probably would continue to live unless she decided to move closer to London. "How about yourself? I'm going to guess you live......close to London?" Smiling at him she waited to see if her failed attempt of a guess was correct or not.
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 04:14 AM (GMT)
Zane nodded he had heard of that place before never been to it though. “Me? Im from Paris, it’s beautiful there also, that’s where I acquired my tastes in art, music and literature. I lived there for most of my life with my family we eventually moved to London but I never really liked it there.” He said remembering his favorite place in France. “Ahh, the Eiffel Tower that’s something to see it’s fun to climb wouldn’t recommend falling off it though.”
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 04:24 AM (GMT)
"Paris?" Rebecca question instantly surprise filling her eyes as she removed her head from her knees and gave Zane her full attention. She'd always heard Paris was a beautiful - no magnificent place and in many ways. Ever since she had been a little girl Rebecca had always told her parents she would visit Paris but so far her dream hadn't come true.
"What is Paris really like? And the Eiffel tower my goodness you climbed it? What were your favorite places to go in Paris? Did you ever -" Stopping herself though Rebecca blushed slightly wondering if Zane had even heard her. She had been speaking quick trying to get in as many question about Paris as she could. Now that she noticed what she had been doing all she could do is apologize.
"Ha I'm sorry about that. It's just I've always wanted to visit France, especially Paris. I've had this dream ever since I was a little girl though it has yet to come true...." Trailing off at that point she frowned slightly. She wished sooner rather than later it would.
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 04:29 AM (GMT)
Zane smiled and laughed her, “Heh im sure you will get there one day maybe during the holidays or when schools out you can go. Il even be you personal tour guide!” He smiled. “I go back after every year; maybe I could take you one day.” Zane said smiling brighter at the idea. “There are so many things im sure you would like.” Zane nodded. “Im sure you will love it when you go there Rebecca…”
Rebecca Emery - May 24, 2008 04:39 AM (GMT)
Rebecca's blue eyes widened with hope as he spoke about being her guide if she were to go to Paris and even maybe taking her along with him whenever he went to visit. The many thoughts and things she would do while there crossed through her mind at that moment. When she finally came back to reality her blue eyes still filled with hope she smiled over at Zane.
"Don't you dare be promising or even suggesting anything like that. I'll get my hopes up even if you said maybe," she told him half joking as she said this. If she were to ever go to Paris she knew her parents wouldn’t let her go without them or another set of guardians that could watch after her. Sighing slightly at this fact she turned back to Zane just to hear his last comment. When she heard him say her name she grinned. It was the first time he’d said it.
"Glad you know my name Zane," Rebecca announced jokingly then added. "I know there will be many things I’ll love. If there wasn't I'd certainly have to call myself insane." Laughing softly at this she suddenly asked, "So you visit Paris every summer?"
Zane Hart - May 24, 2008 12:36 PM (GMT)
“Don’t worry Rebecca I know your name, and it’s a very nice one at that.” Zane said as he listened and eventually nodded. “Yes, I mostly go back to France every year to visit my other relatives and to relax. Then when summer is almost over I go back to my parents in London and wait out the rest of summer.” He said. “Where do you go during the summer? What do you do?” Zane asked intrigued.
Rebecca Emery - May 25, 2008 12:04 AM (GMT)
Rebecca smiled at Zane once more when he told her that he knew her name and it was a nice one at that. If he keeps going along with the compliments, she thought jokingly, I might come to expect them from him. Laughing quietly at her thoughts she knew it wasn’t right. She didn’t expect a compliment from anyone, except maybe her parents who gave them to her no matter how little or subtle.
Pushing her thoughts to the back of her mind Rebecca listened to Zane ask what she did over the summer. After hearing his answer to the question she knew she wouldn’t be able to top it. She usually never went anywhere special over the summer. The only exciting trip she made was to go visit her relatives who didn’t live far from Cardiff, her home. Rebecca always enjoyed the trip’s to her relatives because she after all never got to see them much.
“Well I don’t go and do anything as exciting as you do Zane. The only really thing I look forward too is going to visit my relatives. Oh and that one time parents and I went and visited North America. Other than that my summer consists of me at home with my parents or hanging out with my long time muggle neighbors,” Trailing off at this point she shrugged a smile on her face. Even if her summer wasn’t exciting it was still enjoyable most of the time.
Zane Hart - May 25, 2008 12:10 AM (GMT)
Zane smiled, “That interesting, I always wanted to go to America but never found the time.” He said and crossed his arms across his chest thinking up another topic. “Hmm, do you like Quidditch?” He asked looking at her when he finally found another topic after several minutes of comfortable silence. “In a chaser for my house.”
Rebecca Emery - May 25, 2008 12:29 AM (GMT)
"I'm sure you'll visit there sometime in the future," Rebecca told Zane practically repeating what he had told her about France. Nevertheless she knew it was true. If one really had the desire to do something or visit somewhere they'd make it happen somehow. That's just how people were. Even so Rebecca knew sometimes the way’s people found to accomplish something wasn't always a good way.
Coming out of her thoughts she turned her attention to Zane who had finally broken their comfortable silence with a question. Hearing the word Quidditch made her smile slightly. She'd never minded the game, but wasn't one to play it.
"I do like to watch Quidditch. It's an interesting game, but I don't play it. " Rebecca replied then added with a grin. "I do love to fly though." Stopping at the point she listened as he went on to tell her he was one of the chaser's for the Slytherin team.
"Really?" She asked smiling. "That's great! How long have you played?"
Zane Hart - May 25, 2008 12:52 AM (GMT)
Zane nodded to her enthusiastically. “Yeah, Ive been playing all my life. My father was a Quidditch player before he retired and started his own business of broom making. He just couldn’t get away from the game.” Zane laughed. “I know, maybe some other day where free we can go flying, I beat it will be really fun!” He said exited at the thought grinning like a child.

Hearing Zane answer her question she nodded. As enthusiastic as he sounded while answering she would have assumed he'd been playing all his life or something along those lines. When she heard the part about her father she smiled. It seems like the love for Quidditch runs in the family, she thought to herself.
"Well I assume most Quidditch players can't. For example the new flying instructor, I've heard he used to play for the Chudley Canons, but after an incident that left him hindered well he came and applied here," Pausing for a second to she took in a breath before adding, "See what I mean? Seems like no Quidditch player can."
Smiling at what she said Rebecca couldn't help but laugh, truly amused at the childish grin on Zane's face as he spoke about them flying together on their next free day. She had to admit it was always fun when she flied with another person. One because usually they ended up in a race and two because well having company was always nice.
"We should. You'll have to owl me your next free day went you find out. I'll do the same," Rebecca announced with a nod her thoughts suddenly surrounding around Emma her barn owl. Smiling softly she said to Zane, "And watch out for Emma, my owl. Sometimes she tends to be a little feisty."
