Title: Detention

Nana Dirks'n - May 24, 2008 08:33 PM (GMT)
Nana walked down the hallway to the headmaster's office. She had to go to detention for being late to herbology. Nana took the passage into the office and knocked on the door. The door was open so she assumed that she was expected.

Nana walked into Headmaster's office for her detention. She stared in awe at the huge oak desk and the throne-ish chair. The desk spanned the entire room. Nana looked to see if the headmaster was in the room yet but he didn't seem to be. She was very pleased that she was on time for her detention. She stood in the room not knowing what to do until the headmster got there. Nana looked around at the many pictures and paintings that were hanging on the walls. There were several classical paintings that look vaguely familiar to her but she couldn't place where she had seen them before.

Finnigan Tatupu - May 24, 2008 09:18 PM (GMT)
Valdez entered. "Good evening Miss Dirks'n. I'm glad to see that you are on time." He sat down at his desk and pulled out a bottle of chardonnay and poured himself a glass. He decided to wait a few moments for Munchia to show up... He assumed that he would probably be late... "What do you think is a fair punishment for this crime?" Yuni asked, knowing she would probably try to downplay the seriousness of such an offense.

Muchia Dawson - May 24, 2008 09:41 PM (GMT)
*Muchia booked it down the last flight of stairs before the headmasters office. He had been on the other side of the castle 2 minutes ago and had ran faster then he would have thought possible. He was late for his detention that he got for being late. If he got another detention for it he would
A: kill himself and
B: laugh at the irony
He burst through the door to see the headmaster sitting i8n his chair and Nana standing akwardly in front of the headmaster desk.*

Muchia: *panting* sorry I'm late proffessor. I was working on my potions homework and lost track of time.

Finnigan Tatupu - May 24, 2008 11:45 PM (GMT)
"Mister Dawson..." The headmaster said rather frankly, "I see that tardiness is a habit of yours." He paused, taking a drink from the now half empty wine glass. "I could care less about your potions homework. You owe me detention. I am the headmaster and my assignments for you supersede those given to you by your teachers. Tardiness is not acceptable. When you are late, it distracts from the classroom environment, and causes gaps in your own knowledge. I can see that you have been tardy your entire life." He smiled on the inside, but continued to look rather stern on the outside. He had seen Muchia's type his entire life. One who tries to succeed by being charismatic, rather than intelligent. "Mr. Dawson, tell me why I shouldn't expel you. You are habitually late, and show a disregard for the rules."

Nana Dirks'n - May 25, 2008 01:26 AM (GMT)
Nana was trying to think of a way to answer the headmster's question when Muchia walked in late. He looked like he had run the entireity of the castle in a couple minutes. Muchia pnted as he said,

"Sorry I'm late proffessor. I was working on my potions homework and lost track of time." Nana felt sorry for Muchia he seemed to have her kind of luck, Then the headmaster lectured Muchia about being late, it was pretty harsh. Then the headmaster said,

"Mr. Dawson, tell me why I shouldn't expel you. You are habitually late, and show a disregard for the rules." She didn't think that Muchia needed to be expeled that fast, he had only been late to one class and the detention. Nana had no idea when Muchia had really broken a rule but, he had probably done something close. She said quietly,

"I don't think you should expell Muchia."

Muchia Dawson - May 25, 2008 02:15 AM (GMT)
*Muchias heart stopped all together at the word expel. He hoped that it didn't show but he was , for the first time in his life, genualy terrified. If he were to get expelled he didn't know what he would do. Hoghwarts was his home as much as, if not more then his actual house. All his friends were here almost the entire year. If he got expelled there was little chance that he could get a respectable job. He was still in his OWL year and therefore hadn't gotten any OWLs. None of the jobs that were actualy worth having didn't require some measure of education, unless of course you had connections. And Muchia didn't have any connections. At leat not for a few years. On top of that his parents would kill him if he got expelled. And if they didn't kill him, at the very least they would shun him or disown him. He'd be an outcast until his friends were finished with school.

Muchia did his best to put on a dimeaner of confidence and prepared to give the headmaster whatever resons he could come up with when Nana spoke.

Finnigan Tatupu - May 25, 2008 03:08 AM (GMT)
Valdez turned to Nana. "I don't believe it wise for you to speak right now Miss Dirks'n. I have forgiven you both for slapping me in the face. A second violation is very serious." Valdez said, enunciating every word. He continued with Muchia, "I take personal offense to tardiness. It means that you don't care enough about your education to be on time and you don't respect me enough to show up to my class early.. If you are to stay here, I am going to need you to make a commitment to your education. From what I've seen, you don't care about being on time, so that means that you don't care about your education. You will need to rededicate yourself. I will forget about you, you never want that. It means that I don't care about you. If I don't care about you, you will leave my school. And, unless you have the toughness to do to Durmstrang you will join the ranks of those who had potential, but lacked the determination." He paused, "I will reiterate, you need to make a commitment to me, to your education, and to your school if I am going to agree to let you stay here."

Muchia Dawson - May 25, 2008 03:17 AM (GMT)
Muchia: Sir, its not that I don't respect you enough to show up on time or that I don't have the commitment. It's mearly that I am a busy person who has alot to do and not enough time to do it all. This is my fifth year and as such is OWL year. I have never been this busy in my life. An dI havent as of yet developed the skills to manage my time ffectively enough yet. I'm what you might call a work in progress. I need to find the perfect balance between my school work and my social life because though it is important to learn what I can while I am still at Hogwarts it is also important not to neglect my friends. Freidns are an important part of life and they need the time that they deserve.

With all due respect sir. I think you may be judging the situation rather impulsivly and I think that if you realy think about it you wil find that there is no reson to expel me. I am eger to learn and I am willing to put forth the effort it takes to see my education to the end, if only you will allow me to do so.

Finnigan Tatupu - May 25, 2008 03:46 AM (GMT)
Valdez polished off his glass of wine. "Have you studied Machiavelli?" he asked, "He once said, 'tardiness robs us of all opportunity'. What does that mean to you..." Yuni paused, "Chico, how is your life more difficult than anyone else's? All," he looked at Nana, "or rather nearly all of my students managed to show up on time. Which comes first, friends or your education? Your friends will stab you in the back, but your education is something nobody can take from you. School needs to be your number one priority, your friends come second." Yuni chuckled. "You have no idea who was here before me do you? The man who sat in this office before me expelled people or worse for the smallest of offenses. Being tardy is one of the worst things you can do for your self. It seems to me that you aren't willing to listen to authority. If you cared, you would bite the bullet and agree to what I am proposing... Three conditions... First. You will attend all your classes and get to them on time. Second. You will get Outstanding marks on all your OWLS. Third. You will meet with me once a week for guidance." He quickly put his finger up. "I don't want to hear anything more from you. You either agree, or you will leave."

Muchia Dawson - May 25, 2008 03:54 AM (GMT)
*Muchia was stunned. Outstanding in all his OWLs! Weekly guidance meetings! he didn't have a choice though. He knew there was no way he could get Outstanding in all his transfiguration OWL but at least it would get him through school for the rest of the year. And that would be enough time for him to get passing OWLs, which meant hed be able to get a decent job. He didn't like it but he had no other viable choice other then to accept.*

Muchia: I... I... I accpet your proposal s-sir.

Finnigan Tatupu - May 25, 2008 03:58 AM (GMT)
"Esta bien chico..." Yuni pulled out a piece of long parchment. "I need you to write out your plan, sign it, and I will mail it to your parents for them to sign." It was clear, and he hoped he sent a message. Tardiness would not be accepted...

Nana Dirks'n - May 25, 2008 04:04 AM (GMT)
Nana bit her lip as Muchia took everything that the Headmaster said to him. She was glad that she wasn't getting all that she would have been going insane or screaming. Maybe this was all that they (mostly Muchia) would hear of the tardiness.

Muchia Dawson - May 25, 2008 04:04 AM (GMT)
Muchia: m'my plan sir? what excactly do you mean by that?

*send it to his parents?! that was the absolute last thing that Muchia wanted. if his parents thought he was going to be expelled or even that he was getting in trouble they would likly show up at hogwarts doorstep and do him in. His parents had high expectations from him, especialy after his older sister had gone through hogwarts and recieved 5 NEWTs.*

Finnigan Tatupu - May 25, 2008 05:42 AM (GMT)
"Write down exactly what you are going to do." He handed him a quill and ink, "Your parents need to be involved. They need to be aware of what you've done, and how you plan to turn it around."

Coldstone Harshing - May 25, 2008 10:47 AM (GMT)
OOC: Now Finn, isn't it easier just to thrash them until they beg for forgiveness? lmao

Muchia Dawson - May 26, 2008 03:02 AM (GMT)
OOC: pure evil dude. and yet id almost perfer it that way.

IC:
Muchia: Do you realy think that necessary sir? I mean after all, we've come to an agreement and I plan to stick to it sir. theres no need to involve my parents

*Muchia looked the headmaster in the eye to try and determine if there was any possible hope that he could be swayed.*

Finnigan Tatupu - May 26, 2008 03:32 AM (GMT)
"Oh no... I guess it isn't really necessary..." He paused, "But at the same time, I suppose it isn't really necessary to keep you at my school is it Mister Dawson?" He pushed the quill, ink, and parchment his way. "Start writing, or get out of my office and leave my school." He pulled a cigar out of his breast pocket and lit it. This was taking much longer than he anticipated. He took a few puffs, and flicked the ashes off the end. Yuni was surprised that Muchia had resisted. "You have two minutes before I send you home."

Muchia Dawson - May 26, 2008 03:48 AM (GMT)
*Muchia cursed in his mind like a drunken sailor. he had no intention of writing out a plan and had no idea what he ought to write He grabbed the paper and the quill and began to write the first things that cam eto his head*

In order for me to be on time for appointments, so as not to disrupt classes and miss ouut on chances for education I plan to do the following things:

Leave for appointments 10 minutes earlier then neccessary

Not stop on my way to appointments unless stopped by a proffessor r someone of high status

Write my appointments in several different places, so as not to forget anything

alot myself more time then I need to get things done

Muchia Dawson

Finnigan Tatupu - May 26, 2008 04:03 AM (GMT)
"There," the headmaster said signing the paper as well, "was that so hard?" He furled up the parchment and tied it with a ribbon. "I think you should leave Mister Dawson. I'm finished with you. I shall be mailing this to your parents promptly. I suggest you go to sleep and prepare for you lessons tomorrow." He put out his cigar in his ashtray. "I suggest you get some sleep as well Miss Dirks'n. Wouldn't want to be habitually late would we?" He stood up. "You seem like good kids. I don't want to see you here for negative reasons again. Agreed?"

Nana Dirks'n - May 28, 2008 10:43 PM (GMT)
Nana bit her lip as the headmaster told Muchia that he had to write a plan and send it to his parents. Muchia hadn't seemed to happy about telling his parents. He had protested and he had ended up writing the note. She hoped that she wouldn't have to do that, she was never good at planning, she was just too unlucky for that sort of talent. The headmaster had told them to leave and that he didn't want them back for negative reasons. Nana nodded and she walked out of the office.

Muchia Dawson - May 28, 2008 11:49 PM (GMT)
*the headmaster told them to leave and along with Nana Muchia walked out of his office. Muchia's mind kept racing through what happened in his detention. He still couldn't believe it. He was so screwed.
