April Teagan - May 26, 2008 01:19 AM (GMT)
April needed to get away, desperately. The Common Room was packed, it was too hot outside, and she had a headache. She headed to the library for some peace and quiet. She was happy when she entered and it seemed deserted. Most had taken advantage of the nice day to get some sun and breathing air.

She headed towards the back of the room, looking over book titles and dusty volumes on her way. Perhaps she would grab a book and try to read, or perhaps fall asleep. Maybe she would write Tyler a letter. She didn't know.

She ended up in the back corner, and turned around to head back when she spotted a boy at a table. He was alone, and looked bored. She had never seen him around. She walked towards him.

"Hey... is this seat taken?" she asked, pointing to the chair opposite him. She looked up, expecting him to say no or be nonresponsive.

Sho Yamada - May 26, 2008 01:27 AM (GMT)
Sho was half-daydreaming at the table, he too had been chased out of the common room by too-many-people syndrome and was now seated in the library, trying to pay attention to the book in front of him but mostly thinking random thoughts.

He blinked as a voice brought him back to reality and looked up, spotting a girl pointing at the chair oppostie him "hm? oh, no, it's not taken"

April Teagan - May 26, 2008 01:31 AM (GMT)
April sat down in the wooden chair, opposite the boy. He seemed a bit strange; then again, she had awoken him from his daydreaming ,she presumed. He was half drooling. April struggled not to giggle, and looked down at the book she had pulled off the shelf. She couldn't read the title.

"Damn Latin..." she sighed, pushing it to the end of the table. In her haste to find something to read, she had gotten the wrong language. Stupid library, filled with odd books.

"Are you alright? You seem a bit... out of it, so to speak?"

Sho Yamada - May 26, 2008 01:36 AM (GMT)
Sho smiled sheepishly "no i'm fine, just daydreaming, and I agree on the damn latin part, you'd think one of the genius wizards over the past hundred or so years could've found a way for everyone to use spells in English"

April Teagan - May 26, 2008 01:42 AM (GMT)
"EXACTLY!" she screamed, and got a few "shh's" in return. She hushed herself and calmed down, and then whispered back to the boy.

"You'd think, with all the inteliggient people around, they'd invent some sort of language converting spell... so I could understand half the ...s**t" she replied, laughing uneasily. "Who around here can read Latin? I mean, I know I can't!"

April sent the book back onto its shelf using her wand, and took another one. Atleast it was in English, although it looked dreadfully boring.

"Better. See, easy English. Maybe I'll actually be able to understand it."

Sho Yamada - May 26, 2008 01:48 AM (GMT)
He laughed a little at her outburst, but nodded in agreement with her next sentance "yeah, it's bad enough trying to remember two languages, then they insist we use latin and it's insane structural rules"

April Teagan - May 26, 2008 01:52 AM (GMT)
"I say, screw Latin. You speak two languages? Really?"

She was curious. "Which two? Well, I mean, clearly English. What else? Or did you mean LAtin...?" I'm an idiot, she thought. But the words were already out there, out of her mouth, so she'd have to go with it.

Sho Yamada - May 26, 2008 01:59 AM (GMT)
"I speak Japanese too" he replied, wanting to help the girl our of her self-dug pit of embaressment.

April Teagan - May 26, 2008 02:01 AM (GMT)
"Japanese?" she asked. She was expecting anything... French, German, maybe... but not Japanese. She didn'tknow anyone who could speak Japanese

"That's really cool. Could you speak it right now?" she asked, bouncing up and down in her chair excitedly. She felt like a little kid, however, and stopped the bouncing.

Sho Yamada - May 26, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
"if you want me to...what do you want me to say?" despite speaking the language all his life Sho always got slightly stuck when people asked him to speak it, it was the same when Japanese people asked him to speak English.

April Teagan - May 26, 2008 02:15 AM (GMT)
April thought for a moment.

"Say... "I attend Hogwarts School for magical learning!"

April laughed and then said, "Lame, but all I could think of... Let's hear it!" And she waited.

Sho Yamada - May 26, 2008 02:28 AM (GMT)
"watashi wa hoguwaratsu mahou no gakou o ikimasu"

April Teagan - May 26, 2008 02:31 AM (GMT)
OOC: I eek'd.

IC:

"That was amazing! I wish I could do that! Did you have to study a lot to do that, or did you visit there... or perhaps, live there?" she asked, not wanting to berude or be embarassed again by her constant questioning.

Sho Yamada - May 26, 2008 02:36 AM (GMT)
Used to constant questioning, Sho was a little amused by the girl's hyperness most people tried to play it cool when they were curious about him "My Dad's Japanese, I was born here but I spend most of my holiday time over there"

April Teagan - May 26, 2008 02:36 PM (GMT)
April was fascinated instantly. It was a really interesting thing, to meet people from different cultures. She had met many people at Hogwarts thus far that had parents or other homes in other countries and even continents! It was an interesting aspect tothe school.

"I ask a lot of questions, I know. Did you ever go to school there? It seems like it would be an interesting place to learn. I don't know much about Japanese culture or any of that."

OOC: I was so hyper last night so apparently my posts were too, lmao.

Sho Yamada - May 26, 2008 11:42 PM (GMT)
"it's ok, I don't mind, my Japanese friends are the most nosy, yeah I went to school there for a couple of years, Dad wanted me to go to the Japanese school of magic but when I got the letter from Hogwarts they decided I should come here"

April Teagan - May 27, 2008 12:26 AM (GMT)
"That's interesting, actually. I've always wanted to visit different cultures and learn thier history, so I probably will."

She thought for a moment, then sighed.

"So, back to reality. What are you up to in the library on this, oh so fabulous day?"

Sho Yamada - June 4, 2008 02:54 AM (GMT)
((OOC: sorry, I forgot about this thread somehow! *bows low in apology*))

"nowhere else to be" he replied with a shrug "got sick of being in the common room watching everyone make doe-eyes at each other"

April Teagan - June 4, 2008 10:42 PM (GMT)
April laughed at the joke. She knew it was true, and understood why he felt that way. It was never a good thing to watch, so she understood the need to get away. The library was sort of a sanctuary sometimes. she sighed and leaned back on the spindly chair.

"That's funny. Good place to escape to, I suppose. Not much to do here... except read. Or sleep, I suppose. Or daydream in your case." She giggled.

"Play quiditch any?" she asked suddenly, wondering what he did for fun.

Sho Yamada - June 5, 2008 01:11 AM (GMT)
"quidditch? not really...something about gripping a long, cylindrical pole between your legs and chasing a bunch of balls around, I can't help thinking what Freud would say."

April Teagan - June 5, 2008 01:50 PM (GMT)
April laughed. The way Sho had explained it, she couldn't help but agree. Still giggling, she tried to imagine Sho playing quidditch now. She wasn't really getting mental images.

"So no quidditch... whose Freud anyways?

Sho Yamada - June 6, 2008 05:32 PM (GMT)
Sho couldn't help but laugh a little at her reply ~Glad I went to muggle school~ "Freud was a muggle psychologist years ago, he's famous for thinking everything was to do with the penis, apparantly all guys are obsessed with it and all girls are jealous of it. Oh and he also thought at some point all guys had a crush on their own Mum"

April Teagan - June 6, 2008 06:29 PM (GMT)
April shivered, and thought that was sort of weird.

"They're mother? That guy was a loony; well obviously since he was a Muggle. Stupid Muggles and thier idiotic ideas..."

"And we girls aren't jealous of the penis," she said, laughing. "that's completely ridiculous." She felt this was a weird topic to be discussing in the library. Luckily, she doubted anyone could hear thier hushed whispers, being i nthe back of the library and all.

Sho Yamada - June 6, 2008 06:54 PM (GMT)
"I think idiotic ideas are more of a 'being human' thing than specific to muggle or wizardkind" Sho didn't really care if people overheard him talking about penii, penises or whatever the plural was, but decided to change the subject anyway "maybe i'm biased since i'm kinda half and half..I think, my mother's parents are muggles, but she went to Hogwarts, so maybe i'm more a three-quarters...doesn't sound as cool as halfbreed tho"

April Teagan - June 6, 2008 07:06 PM (GMT)
April chuckled at Sho's joke about being Halfbreed.

"Halfbreed is different than Halfblood, mate. Halfbreed means you're a ...vampire, or a werewolf or something. Definately a werewolf. Halfblood means half and half." She chuckled at this common misconception.

"As for me, I'm a pureblood. None of that freaky Halfbreed-ness," she joked.

Sho Yamada - June 6, 2008 07:18 PM (GMT)
"halfbreed, halfblood, halfbrain, whatever you wanna call me" he replied "ah, you're not one of the crazy 'Ve are ze master race!' ones are you? Those guys always creep me out, I mean no-one can have *nothing* but pure blood in their ancestry without some serious inbreeding"

April Teagan - June 6, 2008 07:24 PM (GMT)
April was a little annoyed, since her family wasn't inbred anyways, but she still smiled. She liked the joke about the Muggle dictator, Hitler, or whatever his name was. Sho's impersonation had been quite funny.

"No, I'm not a Hitler follower," she said, referring to the Muggle reference. "My mother believes in all that crap though. I'm not buying it. I tolerate the muggleborns and such."

She paused, then said, "And my family isn't inbred. We;ve just only married into compltely pureblood families. It's sort of a family tradition, really. But you're right, the pureblood line will run out eventually, if not soon. By soon, I mean the next couple hundred years, however. Unless we start having huge families."

Sho Yamada - June 6, 2008 07:39 PM (GMT)
"Sorry, didn't mean any insult, I was mostly talking about the crazy ones, my Dad's from a pureblood family, he's always going on about how we're descended from some famous samurai clan" he shrugged "I've never really seen the point of bragging, why's it matter that my ancestor could turn people into stone if I can't even get the pin cushion-into-hedgehog spell right"

April Teagan - June 6, 2008 07:50 PM (GMT)
April laughed.

"Well, for my family, it's not all about skills really. It's more about that we have more money than God." She laughed. "Not to brag, since that's an exageration. But we're pretty well off. My mother loves to flaunt that, which is why I'm forced to dress like I spent more galleons on my outfit than I did on a small pony. Which might be true..." she added as an after thought.

Sho Yamada - June 6, 2008 07:54 PM (GMT)
He laughed "wow, that's cool, my family's pretty well-off but I have to pay for my own clothes, spend most of my summer wearing bunny ears and pretending to speak bad English for the tourists"

April Teagan - June 6, 2008 07:57 PM (GMT)
April tried to imagine Dho in a bunny costume. It was a pretty interesting sight.

"Why don't your parents buy you clothes and stuff? I feel like that makes me a spoiled brat... but after all, I'm only 16."

April pondered this, wondering why Sho's parents cut him off at such a young age. She expected her parents to provide for her throughout her life if necessary, ut maybe it was because her father had spoiled her such her whole life.

Sho Yamada - June 6, 2008 08:04 PM (GMT)
"My Dad wants me to dress more 'appropriatly of my station' and even I draw the line at walking around in a half-open kimono" he rolled his eyes "he's kinda mentally still in the 1800s"

April Teagan - June 6, 2008 08:20 PM (GMT)
April thought that this was a litle strange, but didn't want to insult Sho in any way. He was a nice boy and all, so it would be rude to make fun of his family in any way.

"That's... different," she finally said. "He should probably catch up in the times. I don't think you'd make too many... friends, wearing a half open kimono." She laughed nervously, playing with her fingers.

"At least you dress more appropriately. I shudder to think what he wears."

Sho Yamada - June 6, 2008 08:27 PM (GMT)
He smiled devillishly "you've caught me on a boring day, I dunno if you'd say I'm appropriate if you saw me in a mini-skirt"

April Teagan - June 6, 2008 08:40 PM (GMT)
April laughed nervously, although she could see and tell that Sho was a bit different anyways. It didn't change her view of him any, although she thought cross dressing was such a Muggle thing to do. In the wizrading world, cross dressing was hard to tell, since robes all basically looked the same.

"I suppose I would think differently. So you rfather is okay with you wearing a mini skirt?" she asked aloud, then realized perhaps that it was a bit rude to do so.

Sho Yamada - June 6, 2008 08:46 PM (GMT)
"nope, he's always calling me an Okama, my mum thinks it's cute tho, she's kinda wierd" he shrugged "don't get me wrong i'm not from some kind of neglectful family, my Dad cares about me, he just thinks i'm a homo freak"

April Teagan - June 6, 2008 08:53 PM (GMT)
April looked glumly at him.

"Homo freak? Well, are you a homo freak?" she asked, laughing. She was joking of course. "Well, you do like boys, don't you?"

April had totally gotten the gay vibe from Sho, and she wouldnt hide it.

"And who is Okama...?"

Sho Yamada - June 6, 2008 08:54 PM (GMT)
"yeah, I like boys and girls, so that makes me either bi or selfish" he replied with a laugh "ah, sorry, okama are Japanese drag queens, but the word can be used as an insult too"

April Teagan - June 6, 2008 09:00 PM (GMT)
"Well, I can seriously say that I've never met any Japanese Drag Queens, so that's probably why I've never heard the term. Until now, I suppose," she said, joking, and winked at Sho.

"That's very interesting. Bi, huh? I don't really know anyone like that, so that's pretty cool for me. I don't think it's selfish. I think you like what you like, and don't base it on gender. Pretty cool. Down to earth. How long have you dated both?" she asked.

OOC: Totally naht true, I'm actually bi. But obvi my char isnt.

Sho Yamada - June 6, 2008 09:06 PM (GMT)
He shrugged "I'm not sure really, i've been attracted to both genders ever since I started feeling those kinds of feelings"
