Title: Volunteer Work
Description: For Jeraud
Fawne Sugarmoon - May 26, 2008 07:41 PM (GMT)
She decided to visit the Hospital wing on a week day this time hoping it would be quieter than usual. She wanted to speak to the staff for once, and she couldn't do that if they were rushed of there feet. She had some questions to ask upon her arrival, her first being if she could have a more permanent job helping out and maybe some training in basic healing. Both her ideas had stemmed from how much she enjoyed working in the wing that previous saturday. But then now she thought about it there was a new Medi-Wizard now and he might not necessarily want her help.
That thought threw her mentally off balance slightly, mostly because it conflicted with her optimistic nature and so with a forcefully slow blink she cleared her mind and set her normal half smile back onto her lips. If they didn't want her help she'd teach herself, she didn't give up on her dreams and she so wanted to be a healer after Hogwarts.
With this brighter thought to the front of her mind she continued on her path towards the hospital wing her hands fidgeting with the long piece or ribbon tied around her neck and doll styles shoes echoing as she walked whimsically down the corridor; she wasn't going to dress in her uniform if she was out of class, is she?
Pale hands pushed on the heavy door as she finally reached the wing, she choose to slip through the gap in the doors rather the open them fully, she didn't want to let any warmth out. And the school was a pretty cold place with all the stone.
The first thing her grey eyes took in when she entered the hospital wing was the light of the room from all the windows and white beds. She rather liked it, though apparently some found it uncomfortable. Deciding she wasn't in here for the view her normally misty coated eyes snapped to focus as she looked around the room, trying to find the nearest member of staff. Unable to see anyone she took a few steps further into the room and leaned around, hands clasped behind her back and her eyes still searching.
After no look in spotting anyone she decided it would be easier just to shout for someone; Though with consideration in mind she choose to do so quietly after all you never knew who was sleeping in the hospital wing.
"Hello?...Is anyone here?" Her soft tones rang slightly in the room but they were no where near loud enough to be rude.
Jeraud Cynster - May 26, 2008 09:42 PM (GMT)
"Bloody potions," Jer mumbled agitated. It was the second time today that a few had fallen and broken leaving a mess on the floor. It seemed to him after further inspection that the shelves which held the many potions weren't sturdy enough and with every slam of a door or heavy footsteps it shook. In turn making potions fall and break everywhere. Now that he knew this Jer knew he would have to fix it sooner rather than later.
Sighing quietly at his thoughts Jer stood up at the sudden creaking of a door being opened. Instantly looking to the potions he waited for them to start falling all over again. When they didn't though he rasied a quizzical eyebrow. It seemed like the person who had just opened the hospital wing had the decency to shut the door slowly and carefully. That's definitely a change, he thought wryly as he remembered back to the other day when half of the students in which came in had ran through the tall oak doors slamming them open.
Shaking his head Jer took one last glance at the shelves praying that was the last mess for the day as he made his way out to the middle of the room. Today he was wearing his usual work outfit. Slacks and a nice button up shirt with of course his black cloak which billowed around his ankles. As he made his way to the middle of the room Jer looked up as a voice sounded out. looking to his left near the door he noticed a girl, one who was dressed quite casual.
Taking in her appearance with hazel eyes he slowly walked toward her. She didn't seem to be hurt or in pain so he wondered briefly what she was doing her. Stopping in front of her at those thoughts he looked at her from the three or so feet distance. Smiling at her he asked, "Excuse me miss, may I help you?"
OOC: Sorry if the post sounds confusing at all.
Fawne Sugarmoon - May 26, 2008 09:57 PM (GMT)
Fawne had been that engrossed in her search for a staff member she hadn't even noticed the approaching footsteps. her grey eyes had been trained and peering into the gaps beside beds. Obviously she was not that observant today.
it would perhaps explain her reaction when he spoke; her eyes widened slightly at the voice before snapping round to the source a hand reaching for the vague location of her heart in slightly surprise. Other than that she made not a sound. It would have been rather comical if you knew Fawne at all, after all she was hard to surprise.
She took only a moment to compose herself back to her normal whimsical appearing ways; her hand dropping in a subconscious effort to straighten the bottom of her yellow sundress and her silver eyes returning to there normal glazed look. With a small half smile she took a few steps forward and extended her left hand in greeting, to shake.
"Oh you must be the new Medi-Wizard? If that is the truth than i am rather hoping you could help me. You see i have a request to make, i would find it delightful if you had the time to hear me out."
Her voice was soft a melodic and the language she used to speak was obviously something she had grown up learning, despite being only 16, thought nearing 17 now, she was obviously an intelligent girl with a few quirky habits.
OOC: Nope it all made sense, i apologise for not warning you. Fawne's a little quirky in her speech and dress sense lol. ^.^
Jeraud Cynster - May 26, 2008 11:16 PM (GMT)
As Jer watched the young girl in front of him he couldn’t help the small chuckle that left his lips. The way her hand flew to her heart and the widened eyes he knew he had scared the girl. Flashing her an apologetic smile he hoped she knew that it hadn’t been his intention. He’d only been wondering what she needed. Even so he should have known he would have startled her as he noticed, when he’d walked in, that she was searching the gaps beside the beds it seemed. The odd behavior made him smile slightly.
When the girl finally stepped forward and extended her hand Jer took it and shook her hand all the while listening to her introduction. Once he pulled back he took in the girl’s appearance. She was wondering if he could help her? Instantly his interest was caught and he flashed the girl his trade mark lop sided grin.
“Yes I am the new Medi-Wizard. And of course I’ll hear you out. I’m actually quite curious why you’ve come to me for help. After all I’m only a healer,” Smiling at the girl he waited for her reply. He couldn’t come up with any reason why the girl would need help from him, unless she was hurt, which seemed quite unlikely. Jer was after all new and he was sure most didn’t even know of existence.
OOC: No worries I am warned. I think she seems fun so far. =] Sorry about shortness.
Fawne Sugarmoon - May 26, 2008 11:50 PM (GMT)
OOC: Shortness is fine, i don't mind really. My posts tend to get shorter too, Hehe =]
She responded with a gentle grip when they shook hands but her every movement was almost like she wasn't 'quite real', like a ghost of some sort. It wasn't an intentional behaviour but more a natural habit. She withdrew her hand gracefully and tucked a loose strand of long curly hair behind her ear. She then dropped her hand to her front where it clasped with the other to be held in front of her.
As he smiled at her she couldn't help but feel the need to smile back in return, the ordinary half smile on her lips changed to a bright sweet smile that was more friendly a less formal. She seemed more relaxed now too, though a sudden flash across her eyes told her she'd forgotten something.
"Oh how rude of me, i haven't told you my name, it is Fawne...I am almost positive you are not 'only' a healer, you reputation precedes you sir" She paused to blink languidly almost as if thinking where to start with her story. She'd start with the explanation then the questions that would make most sense she supposed.
"Oh well you see, i have occasionally been allowed to help here, in the hospital wing, upon staff request mostly. Truthfully most of the work involved cleaning and company keeping but i have always found it rather delightful and i was perhaps wondering if there would still be a chance for me to volunteer upon your arrival? "
Jeraud Cynster - May 27, 2008 12:14 AM (GMT)
As Jer watched the girl he couldn’t help but notice her behavior and not to mention appearance. Of course she seemed like a nice enough girl so far…just a little strange. Not that he minded. It was a great change after the past few days. He assumed he would take the young girl’s odd behavior over the same old repetitive attitude he got from most students. Smiling at that thought he watched as the half smile on her face widened in to a sweet smile. He automatically smiled back. He’d learned from experience smiling was actually very contagious.
“Don’t worry Fawne it happens to the best of us. After all I know I’ve forgotten to introduce myself many times in the past. By the way it’s nice to meet you.” Saying this Jer nodded to confirm what he’d said only to look at the girl in wonder when she spoke her next words. His reputation preceded him? Sure he’d been known for working at St.Mungo’s and later after that in a muggle hospital but he was quite surprised that people would know or even care about it.
“Don’t flatter me Fawne. By the way I‘m Jeraud or better known as Jer,” he said smiling over at the girl as he brushed his bangs away from his hazel eyes. Remaining quite at this time he waited for Fawne to answer his question. The one that left him very curious. When she did answer though he was grinning from ear to ear.
“Of course there is! I would be delighted to have you volunteer. Now I won’t be so lonely everyday waiting for the occasional patient. I have to ask though is cleaning and company keeping all your interested in when volunteering Fawne?” Turing to watch the girl Jer was still grinning. He thought the volunteer idea was a great one. He himself had also been a volunteer when he was in Hogwarts but his volunteer work also included helping Madame Pomfrey heal minor injuries. Part of Jer hoped that she would say yes. He would after all love to help a young fellow healer.
OOC: Alright good. =]
Fawne Sugarmoon - May 27, 2008 12:35 AM (GMT)
OOC: Jer's great! There's something contagiously happy about the way your role play him =]
Her eyes snapped from the normal misty look as she became rather more tangible and interested in the conversation. Her eyes almost seemed to shine with withheld laughter at his comment about flattery, she was not intentionally being flattering but rather optimistic. She supposes on reflection it was a rather flattery based comment. With a hint of amusement in her soft voice she responded to Jer.
"i assure you that to the people you have treated well and with due care you are more than just a healer but a friend. No person is just anything." her sweet smile seemed to turn up slightly more at one side as she giggled softly raising a hand to her mouth as she did so.
Upon finishing her small giggled she lowered her hand and listened with rapt attention to anything he had to say to her, her eyes a crystal clear silver still. She watched his body language as he spoke taking in everything about him from the way he dressed to the way he acted. She found his very persona contagious for reasons unknown, he was one of the few people she could see herself swapping banter with. He was also one of the few people to snap her from her slightly over whimsical state,
With an ever sweeter smile, yet still surprisingly natural smile, on her face from his response she spoke once more her soft tones filled with brighter higher notes. She was obviously enjoying this conversation.
"Oh thank you, i am delighted you are willing to let me volunteer. I will admit it is something of a dream of mine to pursue this career path..." she paused as if for effect as she studied his eyes carefully, she always studied peoples eyes it was a bad habit but one she had.
"I would like to heal minor injuries as i help, i would like that greatly so. Nevertheless i am afraid they are not too grand at teaching such magic at Hogwarts currently and i do not have anyone to teach much such things. I at the very best know the basics. Perhaps if you are willing you could teach me some healing magics? I am sure i would find your instruction delightful."
Jeraud Cynster - May 27, 2008 07:07 AM (GMT)
Jer could only smile when he heard Fawne reply to his flattering comment. Her answer was very true. He assumed he was more than just a healer when it came to the one’s he’d helped. If he wasn’t their friend then he was their life savor or an angel which he had once been called by a muggle women who’d just learned he’d saved her child’s life. Thinking back through his memories he knew Fawne was right and he couldn’t help but smile softly wondering why it took him this long to figure it out.
“I have to agree with you Fawne. I admit I’ve never thought of it that way before, but from now on I will. Thank you,” Jer told the younger girl flashing her a smile that was sincere. He wondered briefly if the girl happened to be in Ravenclaw. After all he knew with intelligent words like the ones she’d just relayed to him, she be perfect for the house. Coming out of his thoughts Jer moved his hands into his cloak pocket where the warmth engulfed his slightly chilled hands. As he did this he glanced to Fawne who was now watching him intently. Nevertheless he didn’t shift uncomfortably but stood and let her look. Part of Jer knew it was her way of figuring him out. After all he did pretty much the same thing with anyone he met.
Tuning out his thoughts Jer watched as Fawne smiled her sweet smile again and spoke to him. When he heard go on about healing being a dream she wanted to pursue he flashed her his lop sided grin his eyes hazel eyes brightening at the prospect of helping the girl. He knew what it meant to want to be a healer but never having or finding the guidance, especially since there were no classes in Hogwarts on the subject. Hell Jer knew if he had someone like himself working back when he was volunteering he would instantly take the chance of asking the person to be his mentor. After all he knew how hard it was to learn it on your own. Even so Jer had always been glad for his natural healers touch. It had been a life savor.
“Fawne, my dear, I would be no more than delighted to teach you healing magic. I know how it feel’s going through Hogwarts trying to learn everything about healing and coming up with almost nothing. I personally have always thought they should have an elective class for students who want to learn to become a healer. After all it’s not fair to us.” Pausing at this moment Jer took in a deep breath and let it out before speaking again. A small smile on his face all the while. “I’m glad you’ve come to ask me for help. I know if I’d known someone like me back when I was volunteering I would have jumped at the chance also. But seeing as there wasn’t I learned most of what I know from going to school in France, working at St.Mungo’s and after that taking up a job at a muggle hospital in London. As I said I’m-”
Stopping abruptly Jer chuckled at his foolishness. He’d been rambling and hadn’t noticed until it was too late. Turning to Fawne his hazel eyes apologetic he said, “I’m sorry you caught me rambling. Not such a fun thing. But anyways we can learn all about me later. How about yourself? What sparked your interest into taking the career path of a healer?” As he finished saying this he removed his wand from his pocket and accio’d two chairs. Once they were placed firmly on the ground Jer made his way over to them and sat down. Motioning to the seat next to him he smiled over at Fawne. After all he didn’t see why they shouldn’t relax their legs from all the standing up while they talked.
OOC: Aww thank you! I appreciate that. =]
I have to say I like Fawne a lot. Her attitude and the way she acts is so great. I love it!
Fawne Sugarmoon - June 3, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
As Jer spoke her body language seem to change a little; she was becoming more in rapt by his words. She was a curious creature at heart and hearing him volunture so much information to her was more than enough to gain her attention. That and she found him actually interesting, which was a first for a member of staff.
When he said he'd be more than happy to help her eyes almost lit up, the natural wistful look a mere memory now as sparkles seemed to float in the large grey pupils. She hadn't expected a member of staff to agree to teach her never mind be glad she asked! Despite wanting to thank him immediately she kept quiet as he spoke her polite nature keeping her from blurting out her many thanks as he spoke, but only just.
Despite the fact he stopped his speech to apologise for rambling Fawne didn't at all seem bothered. She looked genuinely interested in his past experiences as a healer. Her sweet smile and inquisitive eyes proving so. She seemed to falter a little when he enquired into why she wanted to heal, it was a long story and she wasn't particularly sure she wanted to retell it but then she had no reason not to.
With this in mind she made her way over to the chairs she had only just watched Jer accico to the spot. She smiled in thanks before sitting down on the chair, ankles folded neatly together to one side and her hands placed neatly on her lap. If anything the pose, dress and long curly hair made her look like a pot doll, a quirky one but a pot doll none the less.
She blinked languidly before speaking, still in the soft tone that almost seemed detached but strangely suited its owner.
"I am delighted you wish to teach me, and i would hope you will accept my thanks. " she paused shortly as if emphasizing her thank you before continuing, her hands no gripping each other a little tighter than before and her eyes seeming a little more whimsical; either looking back on a memory or nervous about sharing it,
"Have you ever heard of the saying; You are either a Lover or a Fighter? I rather like to think i am more of a lover than a fighter, for i have never fought well. It has been in my nature for years to care for people, i often used to care for the children in my village during the summer..."her sentenced dragged out like she too was realising she was rambling. with a small half smile she continued once more. "I have, unfortunately, seen people around me get hurt and i have always felt compelled to help, with the proper skill i know i can, i can make their day seem brighter. That i would find delight in...I suppose you have heard similar things before, have you not?"
OOC: Sorry for the wait, but my mini holiday's over now so i'm back =]
Jeraud Cynster - June 3, 2008 05:27 AM (GMT)
Jer watched Fawne intently his hazel eyes watching her expressions looking for any sign of happiness or excitement. When he found it he couldn’t help but smile at the young girl. It seemed she was excited and yet surprised that he had went ahead and told her he would teach her. Part of Jer couldn’t help but think that part of Fawne’s surprise was because how excited he was. Even so Jer couldn’t contain it. He really was happy to help Fawne out. Healing was something was near and dear to him….something he loved…..shaking his sudden thoughts away Jer knew it was too hard to explain how he felt.
Sighing slightly Jer watched as Fawne made her way over to sit by him. Nodding over at her as if to say your welcome to the girl’s thanks he smiled as she sat down. Watching her movements Jer couldn’t help but laugh quietly the scene before him amusing. Her posture and the way she sat was one that people didn’t see too often. There she goes with that odd behavior of hers, he thought to himself amused as she went along to finally answer his question.
“Your very welcome Fawne. I appreciate you asking me other than anyone else who works in this Hospital Wing. It’s a honor.” Saying this Jer flashed Fawne his trademark lop sided grin. His grin though slowly died from his face as he watched Fawne. Seeing her grip her hands tighter and the brightness in her eyes die back down to her whimsical state. As his hazel eyes watched her through her answer Jer nodded here and there to show he was listening. When Fawne came to the part about seeing people she cared about get hurt made him frown. He couldn’t help but wonder how she saw these people get hurt. Nevertheless he knew not to ask.
“...I suppose you have heard similar things before, have you not?"
Hearing these words caused Jer to come out of his stupor and look again to Fawne so he could answer. “I have heard of that saying and I know the feeling of being more of a lover than a fighter as I tend to be myself. And I have to say I’m sorry you’ve seen people around you get hurt and not be able to help. Once our lessons begin you won’t have to worry about that anymore. I promise.” Saying this Jer let his hazel eyes stray to Fawne’s grey ones. Letting her know that his promise was one he intended to keep. Once he made sure she knew this Jer went on to smile at the younger girl before going on.
“And yes I have heard similar things before from other healers and myself. I know exactly how you feel. You certainly find delight when you help people. It makes you feel good to know you’ve saved a life or just help cure a child of a simple cold. It’s an amazing feeling. One that I will ever wish to give up. Though being a healer isn’t always feeling delightful and happy. There are other feelings that come along with the job. Like guilt or anger or sadness. There’s many times when one asks the what ifs. I know I’ve done that many times. Nevertheless I tell you I wouldn’t trade my career in for anything else….” Trailing off Jer smiled at Fawne. His smile was genuine and filled with warmth. It wasn’t many times that he spoke about the ups and downs of being a healer, but now that he was going to teach Fawne he felt like he had to.
Shaking his thoughts away for now though he changed the subject to a more happier and exciting one. Turing to face the young girl Jer asked curiously, “So Fawne….what do you already know? What would you like to learn about first?”
Fawne Sugarmoon - June 7, 2008 01:45 PM (GMT)
She would have smile at Jer, glad since he hadn't asked the questions and who and why, but by now the answers were already swirling around her head; her fathers death, her own many injuries, Dorien who got a whole topic to himself and still managed to make her heart flutter and of course she couldn't forget the 'battle' from last year that left her with some scars. Her reaction to her thoughts were obvious, her pale skin seemed translucent and her eyes seemed duller. It was moments like these that often caused the teasing, people swore she didn't look human.
With slow blink and a deep breath she managed to clear her mind and replaced her smile the memories being pushed back where they belonged. She wasn't quite sure she wanted to drag all that up on their first meeting, even though she trusted him already. His voice drew her attention back again and her silver eyes focused on his, loosing their wistful quality almost as soon as he spoke. Her smile turned from polite to genuine when he promised what he did using his eyes to convey his message.
"Thank You Jeraud, for your promise and for not asking further. I appreciate your help very much so"
She had always been blunt by nature and she appreciated him not asking about who. Her voice was still melodic and she still spoke in a fashion that belonged centuries ago. Fawne always used peoples full names and she hadn't even blanched at calling him Jeraud dispite him being a teacher. She didn't seem to view him as a teacher but more of a friend, it was becoming a strange relationship already.
She nodded her head very slightly as he spoke about healing not always being delightful, this was something she'd expected. Not everyone could helped not matter ho hard someone tired. As she responded she seemed to tilt her head slightly to the left, like an animal when playing close attention though the nodding had stopped by this point.
"Nothing is ever always happy, for then everything would be ordinary. Rather, what i mean is that i understand..."she paused thinking over her answer to his question, what did she know. The staff before hand had been reluctant to teach her anything and the library was of no help.
"I have learned how to apply certain potions but i was never taught much more. I believe they were reluctant to let me use my own magic to heal since i am still a few months away from coming of age." she realised then that she'd never told Jer what house she was even from; she giggled lightly at her mistake it was a soft sound that wouldn't suit a normal persons tone.
"Forgive me i never did tell you about my Hogwarts standings...Fawne Lunette Sugarmoon, 5th Year Gryffindor... though I'm older than most in my year. Unfortunately i will be 17 just before i start my 6th year in a few months no less. I was fated to be either the youngest or oldest in my year."
OOC: i swear i replied to this ages ago O.o
Jeraud Cynster - June 10, 2008 10:51 PM (GMT)
Seeing Fawne and watching the girl go completely pale and her eyes go dull Jer frowned knowing it must have been caused by the talk of not being able to help people she loved or cared about. He knew the same feeling and was very tempted to reach out and hug the girl in a comforting way. Though he didn’t and instead watched the young girl as she came back to reality and took a breath before smiling politely at him. Upon hearing her words Jer smiled softly at her and nodded. Now that she seemed so happy and grateful for his help he knew he couldn’t mess this up. No matter what.
“Your very welcome Fawne. It’s a pleasure helping you. And also I know how it feel’s to bring up past memories, hurtful ones at that. I know when to keep my mouth shut and not ask anymore. If someone wants to talk about it, they will in their own time.” Saying this Jer flashed Fawne another smile as his words hit him and memories of his own came back. He knew how it felt when you weren’t able to help or save someone you loved. It was very painful. Something that stayed with you forever, almost taunting you. It wasn’t fun and Jer knew since he didn’t like to talk about his memories of Selene, other people wouldn’t like to talk about theirs. It was a respectful thing to do in not asking.
Shaking his thoughts away Jer went on to speak of the pros and cons of being a healer. When he finished and he watched Fawne nod in knowing and go on to comment he smiled. Her answer was just like her attitude odd. Even so, no matter how odd it sounded, he understood her. If everything in the world was happy and honkey dory there’d be no point to their lives. It would almost be a complete waste in space. At least that’s how he viewed it. Nevertheless people had their own opinions.
“That’s alright, I understand what you said,” Jer announced smiling before he went quiet so he could hear Fawne’s answer to his question. Hearing that she only knew how to apply some potions Jer frowned slightly. They had a lot of work ahead of them. As she went ahead and said the nurses before him were reluctant to teach her a part of Jer understood why. Once she turned seventeen there would be no stopping her from using healing magic whether she knew how to use it right or not. Still that didn’t make sense to him. Wouldn’t they want her to be taught the right way? Shaking his head in wonder he listened as she giggled and introduced herself quite formally if he might add.
“Gryffindor huh? No offence but I pegged you more of the Ravenclaw type, like myself. After all you seem very intelligent and wise for your age. Even so I’m sure the sorting hat had it’s reasons when putting you in Gryffindor. I’m sure you do them proud Fawne.” Saying this Jer grinned his lop sided grin before he went on to add, “By the way I have to warn you. There’s still quite a lot for you to learn. I have to say I’m a little surprised to know how reluctant the nurses were to teach you. Even so never fear I’m here to save the day.” As Jer finished his words he laughed at his comment about saving the day. It was very corny and he shook his head feeling like a complete idiot now. I really shouldn’t try out anymore jokes, he thought to himself half amused.
OOC: So sorry for late reply Fawne!
Fawne Sugarmoon - June 11, 2008 12:13 AM (GMT)
She smiled brightly when he pegged her as a Ravenclaw rather than a Gryffindor. Most people did out of uniform and she couldn't fathom why, she supposed it was her way of speaking. Which she often got told was far to old fashioned. However she also supposed that despite, having some Ravenclaw attributes, to act the way she did took a certain courage and she was certainly odd enough to attack trouble from everywhere. So she supposed in some sense she fit the Gryffindor mould well.
When he called her wise she couldn't help but blush slightly, the smile turning from bright to thankful. The red tint to her pale cheeks made her look much more alive and much healthier; it took a lot to get Fawne to blush and she had half the mind to tell him so, but she choose not to in the end. She raised a slender hand to her cheek as if she could touch the warmth from the blush away but in the end she merely dropped it back onto her lap giving it up as a bad job.
"I believe your are flattering me Jeraud..." her voice held the same melodic tones to it as usual but an impish amusement laced them, making the way she said his name almost roll of her tongue. Like she was teasing him.
"Not that i mind such things for i am far less modest than yourself." she giggled in that light way again to show her humour and it was obvious now more than ever she would treat him as a friend, she would not be so relaxed in the company of a teacher.
She had waited till he finished speaking before replying in the first place, after she'd giggled at his joke of course. So after a short pause at the end of her joke she realised she had yet to respond to the whole point of this visit; the lessons. Of course as a whimsical girl she could easily be distracted by anything that posed enough of a curiosity to her. So forcing her mind set back on task she spoke once more.
"I find it delightful that you wish to 'save the day'. Nevertheless i am still unsure as to where we should start."
OOC: i didn't mean your reply i meant mine, i was sure i replied but when i checked i hadn't lol.
Jeraud Cynster - June 12, 2008 08:40 PM (GMT)
Watching Fawne’s reactions to his words he was glad to see her eyes and smile brighten from the dreary dull look they held moments ago and also to see the color in her cheeks which if he had to admit made her look much more alive than she looked yet. He grinned knowing this. Jer hoped she would look more like this during their lessons. It made him feel a little more comfortable around her. Not that he didn’t it was just a little weird how out of everything she was and how pale her skin looked and how dull and whimsical her eyes became. Of course it made her different, but sometimes it was nice for a change here and there.
Shaking his thoughts away Jer watched as Fawne let a hand rise to her cheek and fall back into her lap as she spoke. He took in her amusement underlying her words and laughed his hazel eyes amused as he watched her before speaking. “Yes I have to agree I am more modest then yourself. By the way I wasn’t flattering….at least not really,” Pausing he flashed the young girl a grin to show he was joking before adding with seriousness, “But really in all seriousness what I said were truthful. You are Fawne. More than most students here.”
As Jer trailed off finally he flashed Fawne one last smile before he went on to listen to her. Watching at her giggle at his joke, so to say, made him feel a lot less stupid and he smiled his thanks. Though if she would catch it he wasn’t sure. Nevertheless he listened on as she spoke letting him wonder on the answer. What would they learn first? Right now he wasn’t quite sure. Even so Jer knew there was really only two ways about going healing. Wand work and spell then potions and ointments. Knowing this he let his hazel eyes glance to Fawne.
“Well since I haven’t really thought about it either I’m as about clueless right now as yourself. Though I was wondering…I’m going to give you the choice on whether you want to start out with the wand work of healing or the potions and such. Other then those you don’t use much of anything else for healing unless of course you thinking about the muggle ways of repairing injuries….” Trailing off for a moment in thought Jer shrugged his shoulders then began to speak again. “Whichever you prefer is how we will start.”
OOC: No I know, lol. My post was late also. At least two or three days.
Fawne Sugarmoon - June 14, 2008 12:36 PM (GMT)
OOC: We'll call it even then, and blah finding it hard to write as Fawne today T.T
IC:
When he grinned at her she couldn't help but respond with her own smile, a more impish one which was as close to a grin as she would ever give. She looked like she was enjoying herself, which she was despite the fact her posture didn't change. The only difference now was that her left hand was playing languidly with the hem of her dress whilst her right rested in her lap.
Her impish grin changed into a sweet smile when he smiled at her in thanks for his joke, she found his happiness contagious and there was something about him that made her feel as if she'd known him for years. Of course his continuous happiness was also helped by the fact he was cute and she found it endearing when he smiled. When his hazel eyes glanced towards her she couldn't help but catch his gaze with her silver eyes, it was something she'd always done a habit even. She seemed to considering things for a moment before reply, her voice seeming a little softer than before but no less melodic.
"I believe i must thank you for your flattery then Jeraud, i am delighted you think so of me..." Her voice trailed off and her once thankful smile now seemed more sweet once more, when she next spoke her tone was back to normal the extra softness missing.
"I rather think we should begin with Wand work. I believe we can then leave the potions supply intact. " She giggled lightly to show she was joking about decimating his positions supply, raising her hand to cover her mouth as she did so before dropping it back to her lap. If he'd been paying attention he might have notice how she dominantly left handed but could still yes her right hand for most tasks...

OOC: Alright sound good to me. And no worries. =]
Watching Fawne Jer was glad to see by the smiles, her posture, her laughs, and her words that she was enjoying him as company. It was always nice to know you were good company. After all you didn’t want to be an annoying git. Even so part of Jer knew most wouldn’t go as far as to tell him to shut up if he was. Usually people weren’t so blunt or hated to be rude, but personally he would rather know if he was being annoying then not. That’s why he sometimes told people don’t be afraid to tell him to be quiet. His words always giving them the okay to do so, which in turn left them feeling less mean. Shaking his rambling thoughts away at this point Jer listened as Fawne went ahead and broke the silence with her soft and melodic tones. Hearing her words made him smile at the young Gryffindor.
“Well in that case your very welcome Fawne,” Jer announced his smile widened on his lips as he waited for her to answer his question on where to start. When she finally did, making a joke out of her words, he laughed with her and nodded. “Yeah I think you right. Wand work is a much better way to start especially since I’ve been loosing my potions. The shelf there on is very wobbly and with one loud harsh step the whole thing comes crashing down.” Trailing off Jer shook his head and glared slightly in the direction of where the potions sat. After he did this he let his hazel eyes stray back to Fawne as he spoke.
“So now that we know where to start now the question is when….” Pausing for a moment he pondered briefly of all the factors. When he finally came up with a solution he grinned. “Alright I know summer is coming up in about….what a week? Few days? Anyways since it is close I don’t want to start you on anything just yet. I’ll let you enjoy your summer. So after break when you come back next year and get settled in you come and see me. How does that sound?”

She'd been smiling in that sweet way all the way through his words, it was like a permanent fixture on her face when she was talking to him. She also followed his gaze to the shelf when he spoke of loosing his potions. It almost seemed like a conspiracy against the shelf. The thought made her giggle and the soft short sound filled the air again.
After her small giggling fit at the shelf she turned her gaze back to Jer listing to the rest of his words and nodding vaguely in agreement. It didn't make sense to start her lessons over the summer, with the tournament and all. With a bright more thankful smile she responded to Jer.
"That sounds like a delightful idea, after the summer would be most logical. And I rather believe it is a few days now, though i think most are staying here this summer for the tournament..." she seemed to bow her head like ending the conversation before rising fluidly from her seat, one hand straightening the edge of her dress and the left extended forward for Jer to shake. A sort of farewell shake.
"I would like to thank you for being so wonderful and offering your help. I rather think i will see you again over the summer..." she didn't need to tell him she was the Gryffindor entry for the tournament, not just yet anyway, other wise he might of guessed she meant he'd probably end up haling her over the summer...

As Jer listened to Fawne giggle at his something she thought while looking over at the potions he smiled wondering what was funny. After all if she found it funny that the potions continued to fall and break he would have to disagree with the young girl. Nevertheless Jer knew she would think things such as that, at least he had a feeling she wouldn’t. Even so he had to remember he didn’t know her well yet, even if it seemed like he did.
Tuning his thoughts out Jer listened as Fawne spoke to him a bright smile accommodating her face. He nodded at her words remembering hearing something about the tournament. Of course he didn’t know much, only from what he’d heard from the students but nevertheless he was rather excited. It seemed interesting enough and would probably be asked to stay because he was one of the healers, not that he minded.
“I’m glad we both agree on this. Next year it is!” Grinning as he said this Jer stood from his seat and grasped Fawne’s left hand and shook it gently. Letting go he listened to her next words and nodded smiling still. “Your welcome Fawne. I’m glad I can help. And yes I’m sure I’m probably staying for it so we might cross paths. Who knows.” Smiling he let go of Fawne’s hand so he could grab his wand and make the chairs they sat in disappear. Once this task was finished he turned to Fawne for the last time.
“I’ll be seeing you then Fawne. You have a great summer, alright?”
Fawne Sugarmoon - June 15, 2008 11:21 PM (GMT)
She responded fleeting and gently to the handshake a smile still on her lips as she listened to his words. Her eyes seemed to glint when he said 'who knows.' Even if they didn't speak again personally he would likely see her through the tournament, she was beginning to be really delighted by the idea of participating.
She hummed vaugly in reply before patting the hidden pockets of her dress lightly and almost unnoticeable like looking for something, which she was; she was checking she still had her wand. Without further delay she turned lightly on her heals waving vaguely over her shoulder at Jer.
"I wish you a delightful summer also Jeraud."
She continued on the way to her door, not glancing back once and her steps as light as ever. When she reached the tall wood structure she paused, turning back slightly a smile and her lips and one could almost swear she had a mischievous tone to the softness of her voice.
"I think a sticking charm would be a wonderful idea...Fare Well Friend" taken out of context the sentence made no logical sense, but if Jer had learned anything about her at all he would click she was referring to the shelf. Without waiting for his response she lightly opened the door slipping through the small gap once more, shutting it almost silently behind her.
